It is bad luck; and I mean very bad luck to see them in the daylight. I'm superstitious; maybe that's why they freak me out. That, or the faces. It's like God slammed a shovel in each individual owl's face before sending it on Earth. So they've got to be spiteful, right? I'm about to look up how many people die a year from owl attacks. I bet it's like 2384985723985723847. crying

Well you know that this saying was created by a man who killed him self based on the theory that if he did that he would be able to, and I quote: "rise up and become a powerful spirit, to smite down all owls"
