ah. one of THOSE situations. in our family responsible translate to "is allowed to punish" (through means of making him have time out facing the corner, or putting him to bed, etc. if he doesn't do that, we tell mom and dad he refused punishment and he gets spanked) which actually by shear virtue of being possible causes it's own irrelevance. because i am allowed to, i never find need. when i am with children i'm not allowed to, i almost always find need.
unless the child in question gets hurt, or breaks something...then i'm in deep sh^t.
though mostly that is its own punishment.
sorry. that was probably all irrelevant too.

Nope, responsible = your fault. We don't rat each other out if we can help it because everyone gets in trouble and it's hard to tell where the main aggression will land. x3

responsible does = your fault, but how do you prevent things from happening if you can't actually control whether or not the events happen. how much younger were your siblings?
and i get in trouble if i am being unfair, if brother gets hurt, or if anything he's not supposed to touch gets moved or broken. it is my responsibility to play with him, and keep him safe. i don't usually actually have to tell my parents anything though, as my brother is an angel.
in our house if mom and dad are annoyed they will yell at everyone, but if we don't tell them they will yell at me...so it's more of "do i want zach to be told to stand in the corner (since zach never disobeys them anymore, my parents mostly just reinforce verbally that "if Aria told you to do/not to do X, then do X" or.."Aria...why are you asking X of him? you need to be looking out for his needs, and X doesn't hurt anything, so do it/let him do it" while if i don't tell them they get pissy and tell me that i should have been paying more attention, and that i shouldn't have let him do X, it was entirely irresponsible. you are in charge, so you need to be aware of his actions, and tell us if it's something you cannot handle.
if parents are allowed to be irritated....everyone is in deep sh^t anyways. then i usually get yelled at, called a lazy, worthless POS, and being given an ultimatum of some sort. so it's usually my job to make sure that little brother doesn't irritate parents, that i don't irritate parents, and if sisters irritate parents i need to leave the house as soon as possible for whatever reason i can find, because my younger sister (1 year, 2 months younger) always says exactly the right thing to make parents pissy.
my parents either dish out incredible amounts of punishment to everyone for little to no reason, or are fairly chill...depending on their mood.
if there's an argument between me and my little brother, i get the benifit of the doubt. if it's between my little sister and my little brother, my brother gets the benefit of the doubt. if it's between my little sister and i, we are both going to get yelled at, and my older sister always wins.
the above proves i am not a nice person. and i'm sorry. that can't be fun.

Only til my room is cleaned...which is shortly soon if we get home on time. That way I can finish it before my bedtime.

i could have played along a little better, but the articulation and wit required for that was not coming to me in that instance. sorry.
that's good. i'm glad that it's not something more severe.
(a song i was listening to a second ago) "GARY: Right now you are down and out and feeling really crappy NICKY:I'll say. GARY: And when I see how sad you are It sort of makes me... Happy! NICKY:Happy?! GARY: Sorry, Nicky, human nature- Nothing I can do! It's... Schadenfreude! Making me feel glad that I'm not you. NICKY:Well that's not very nice, Gary! GARY:I didn't say it was nice! But everybody does it! D'ja ever clap when a waitress falls and drops a tray of glasses? NICKY:Yeah... GARY:And ain't it fun to watch figure skaters falling on their asses? NICKY:Sure! GARY:And don'tcha feel all warm and cozy, Watching people out in the rain! NICKY:You bet! GARY:That's... GARY AND NICKY:Schadenfreude! GARY razz eople taking pleasure in your pain! NICKY:Oh, Schadenfreude, huh? What's that, some kinda Nazi word? GARY:Yup! It's German for "happiness at the misfortune of others!" NICKY:"Happiness at the misfortune of others." That is German! Watching a vegetarian being told she just ate chicken GARY:[there are lyrics here, but this is censored] NICKY:Being on the elevator when somebody shouts "Hold the door!" GARY AND NICKY:"No!!!" Schadenfreude! GARY ******** you lady, that's what stairs are for!" NICKY:Ooh, how about...Straight-A students getting Bs? GARY COLEMAN:Exes getting STDs! NICKY:Waking doormen from their naps! GARY:Watching tourists reading maps! NICKY:Football players getting tackled! GARY:CEOs getting shackled! NICKY:Watching actors never reach GARY AND NICKY: The ending of their oscar speech! Schadenfreude! Schadenfreude! Schadenfreude! Schadenfreude! GARY:The world needs people like you and me who've been knocked around by fate.'Cause when people see us, they don't want to be us, and that makes them feel great. NICKY:Sure! We provide a vital service to society! GARY AND NICKY: You and me! Schadenfreude! Making the world a better place... Making the world a better place... Making the world a better place... To be! GARY COLEMAN:S-C-H-A-D-E-N-F-R-E-U-D-E!"
