Somehow, Ben was still feeling worried about the poor cashier, but knew that he'll push through the day even with some personal problems coming along for Casey, so he decided to let the guy assist him. The customer introduced himself as Alexander and the blond was the one who supplied the answer. "Benjamin Harris. But you can call me Ben. Now, time for the real business." He allowed Alex to follow him until he reached the proper section. "This shelf may find the magic books that you are looking for." After all, both of them may be in a slightly similar boat because of their interest in magic.

”B-But I won’t fit into your pockets-” he’s far too big! Unless she owns a jeans with extra large pockets.. then he’d have nothing to argue about. But it just doesn’t seem quite possible.

Perhaps it was the help of alcohol, his thoughts seem to be processed a little faster compared to earlier, stopping him from acting as stupid as he was before. He seemed to catch onto what she said much easily now. ”I mean.. Wow, that’s very nice of you but I don’t think your boss would allow that- It seems quite impossible-” he laughed. For all he knew, not one stranger lasted as long as ten minutes around him when he’s off work but it seems she’s doing just fine at the moment. It was something quite new for the young man, something quite rare, to be precise. He’s sure his elder brother, too, would be surprised if he were to hear about it. And when she claimed she wasn’t the type of person prone to blushing, Rigel would chuckle. That didn’t seem like the case at all. If anything, her face was beet red at the moment. ”I might seem stupid, but I’m not that stupid to the point I can’t tell you’re blushing!” he exclaimed, noticing her darkening cheeks though he wasn’t quite aware that it was the close distant between them that caused it. He wasn’t all too surprised when she admitted not being human, since technically, he wasn’t one either. He wasn’t afraid of admitting it, but what he was afraid of was what people would do, what sort of chaos would emerge within the human civilization if they really were to find out regarding.. non-humans. Chase them out of the country, perhaps? Throw them into space? It wasn’t likely to happen anyway. He may be clumsy, but he isn’t clumsy enough to give his identity away- ”Well, I think it really suits you! Pink looks nice on you.” in all honesty, he answered.

He could feel the pressure of his fangs against his lips disappear and he was sure enough that his teeth had returned to normal. As for his sight, that didn’t seem to be the case. He still saw everything in Infrared and thermal radiation seems to be the only thing he could see. Though it seems what she was terrified over wasn’t his appearance but rather, his.. painful, ear-piercing shriek. But before he could even address that subject matter, something else seems to have caught her attention. Performance, it seems. ”Oh! Good luck, Zara!” he cheered, turning his attention back to his drink and downing the rest of its contents. It seems, it wasn’t really a wise decision to do, given how the burn down his throat felt a little unbearable. He cleared his throat, deciding that it would be the final drink for the day. ”O-oh? Sirens are scary? Really? You seem pretty nice-” Not when she’s screaming and yelling, of course. But before he could leave, it seems Zara has a plan of her own.

He felt something touch his lap, and he’d return his gaze towards the woman. ”You dropped your hand, again-” he stated, his cheeks slightly red from the sudden chug of his martini. ”O-oh, I was just about to leave-” he paused, already holding his car keys in hand, but when it came to singing, it brought back rather pleasant memories of his family. He figured it wouldn’t be so bad to stay and watch her performance. A soft chuckle would escape his lips and he’d keep his keys back into his pocket. ”Well- I do like hearing people sing- I look forward to your performance then! Good luck.” he stood from his bar stool, offering his elbow. It appears the help of alcohol seemed to have changed his demeanor just a bit. ”Uh.. I was told this was the right thing to do? Is it?”

Valentine's Day meant giving gifts to couples and singles, and novels and comics were no exception from the list of potential gifts to bestow to their special someone. Benjamin wished to see Alex more after their time at the fast food joint, but with more customers coming in with the special sale just for this occasion, he would have to work twice as hard to cater to them. The mage helped customers left and right, though there were a few drunkards wanting to ruin the place and he had to call security to drag them out. But then again, it was just part of his day here in the bookstore, the place that fitted best to his preferences. Still, he wished the customers would learn to keep things tidy, as he was mostly the one having to arrange the books and comics back in their proper places once they left the shelves.

With one section of the shelves being done, he was all set to fix another one, even with the customers continuing to pour in and out of the store gradually. His baby blue eyes noticed a blonde lady among them, and her aura depicted of the same element that he was attuned to, though he wasn't sure on whether she was also a magician like him or a water being, having to live mostly underwater. He picked up a few books and put them in the proper section, though he kept his attention on the new customer. "Good morning. May I help you today?" His voice remained cordial even with the multi-tasking situation he was currently in.

Ben was just done keeping the books secure there when the female supplied the reply. He blinked at the girl for a few seconds before humming. "Which specific classics in particular? There are not many books to add the modern spin on them." He had watched the urbanized version of Romeo and Juliet back in his Ombre house and while he appreciated the effort to put a unique spin, there were still details that were lacking, so it wasn't a perfect 10. He gave it a 6.5, though.

Patrick wandered into the store close to an hour of its closing time. He went around briefly reading a few pages of some books he checks over. Didn't find anything he wanted to buy or worth in doing so for now. Didn't find anything worth taking home while he was there. Left on out and headed up to get some rest before his first day of work begins.
