Maria stepped back out. She and Antonio walked back to the kitchen and got cups of coffee.
Eric came back in, looking refreshed and well once more. "Is she still doing ok?"
"I think so," Came Antonio's reply. "We decided to give her some space and come in here. Nothing like chattering voices to keep someone from a good night's rest."

She lay in bed, thinking. She had been stupid to go into that area unarmed. and she hated herself for stealing money from the hag. But... he saved her. Some one saved her, survived doing it, and was glad to have done it. She actually mattered that much to some one now. She didn't kn ow how to handle it. The image of how he looked when he showed up in that alleyway was burned into her brain. He had saved her, and carried her off. He took care of her. Why hadn't he yelled at her even? Going there had been stupid. She knew going there alone and unarmed was stupid, why didn't he yell at her? And she snuck out again. But he hadn't yelled about that either. She didn't k now where she stood or what to do. She tried to sleep, but the thought of the money she took haunted her. She still had most of it, she'd put it back. And she'd find a way to get the rest... some how...

Yes. As we use the mental speech, it becomes easier to slip in and out of each others minds. You could slip into mine if you wished.

Her first instinct was to march to wherever he was and demand that he stop. She forced herself to remember what she owed him, and that he had saved her. *How do I shut it off?*

There was a mental chuckle along with this next message. There are two ways. You can imagine a wall up in your mind. Make sure it is strong or others will be able to break through. And the second method is to politely tell me to mind my own business. Though I do feel that I should tell you that this is the first time I have checked in, worry will do that to a person.

She twitched and forced her reply to be polite. Or as politely as she could manage, *Then kindly keep your nose out of my private thoughts!* she sent. then tacked on a *please* when she realized she probably had to.
