"I should feel honored then. And how cute, he's nervous." Jelena gave a typical patronizing 'aw' sound, though it was all meant in the best of humor. She liked her humor, kept her from going crazy sometimes it seemed. Then another laugh and a smile, making a motion to push up her OODDS, even though they weren't even on right now. "Don't worry James, I only tease when I find it convenient and appropriate, I'll try not to torture you."
PostPosted: Sun Aug 21, 2005 5:58 pm

"Sure. and you'll also not be running in to see Hiroshi in about fize minutes."

A small smile, and a shake of his head.

"I trust you enough to let you talk me into this. I'm not about to think that you would overdo the teasing I know that is coming. Now if you want lets go check on your Echo, and save Erik from whatever one has a holdof him this time, shall we?"

"I was trying to shoot for ten, thank you very much." Well he knew how she worked from the years that had been working together and the like. Something wrong with her Echoes and she'd drop whatever she was doing to go check. But she was trying to not be so rude right now. But then he suggested that they go see the very thing that she was worried about, how compliant of him to give into her little whim of being overly protective of her Echoes. Especially the little ones. "Nice to know you trust me like that." Then a nod and she PAID tagged the door int he back of her office. "Sounds like a plan."

Though leading him in, she didn't go to the back enclosures like normally when seeing an Echo, instead she detoured to a fairly large what was supposed to be a lab room, but instead when she gained access into the room it had the feel of a little nursery to it like in any normal hospital. It was in all actuality a low key Echo equipped infirmary...various things and what seemed to be pen areas that had simulated environments displayed on the surfaces.

She made her way over to one and coded the door open, walking over to the little Kitsune who had raised her head when Jelena came in with a bark and with some effort got herself up and waddled over. Of course Jelena picked the thing up, cradling it in one arm as she brought it out and to an examination table.

James was quiet on teh trip to the Echo infirmary, and remained so whan Jelena came to a table with the Kitsune. looked a little on the chubby side to him. but then again most of the variants did look a slight bit well off compared to the others, maybe because they didn't have to fight as much for things. save maybe the Fenrir.

"Anything I can do to help you, Doctor?"

Formal enviroment ment formal titles from James.

She looked to him, raising an eyebrow. "Back to Doctor now is it, how amusing." A look down to the little eight tailed, as opposed to nine tailed, fox. It was chewing on her fingers a little. "Yes, don't let it roll off the table." They had a tendency to follow her around, especially the variants. But she walked over to the pen and threw some codes into the accompanying screen, which brought up all that had been going on with it. Sure enough, Erik had already given it a injection. Nanomachines that were blank in nature and coded to the genetics of the Echo. They would read the body and go after what wasn't supposed to be there. Like a virus killer, and it was derived from the ones that had been used in regular medicine.

"Seems our little Kitsune has gotten itself a little virus." A slight look over to Hoshi and James before back to the screen. "Well she's been isolated for a few hours now, but I'll keep her in overnight just to make sure things are taken care of. Of course I'll have to watch the other to see if they're infected."

"We're in a medical facility, and that means back on duty, doctor trevale."

A slight grin, before serious again and making sure the little fox animal didn't get itself in trouble by eatting jelena's fingers or falling off the table. glancing at teh screen.

"virus? what kind? hope it's not anything serious or dangerous to this one of ht others. you'll have a nervous breakdown."

"Ah, I see how that works, Mr. Moira." She could play that game too, but easy enough to deal with and something she would just grow accustomed to. In Project Echo, formalities were often not thrown around. But her attention back to the screen.

"Just seems to be a little cold virus. Echoes we've found can be quite susceptible to viruses and the like. No exact cause for it can I find, it's not a flaw in their DNA, but I've come up with a little theory that it's the sterile environment they're kept in. And of course you know, people aren't the most sterile things."

She walked back over to the table, checking out the Kitsune much like a vet would a common dog. "But she seems a little better since her third injection, alert, energetic. Normally I wouldn't pull an Echo out for a little virus bug, but the Variants need the specific observation and attention. I'll be sleeping in her tonight most likely."

"Are you sure that's a good idea? I mean not only coudl you possibly get sick, but your echo may in fact get worse is something else decides to hit her system from you. like you say, if it's from a sterile enviroment, than it's more likely the simple lack of contact that makes them suceptible to viruses."

He watched her, noting the screen and the nano injections. they probalb coud handle it but still, better safe than sorry.

"Ideas are not good or bad on the job James. Besides, I do this sort of thing all the time." A point over to the holding room. "In there is completely sterile, so as the virus can get killed off and not reoccur. While in there the nanos will absorb themselves into the system and thus become antibodies to the particular strain of virus. Also, I inject myself with the standard thus, killing off anything in me, so that takes care of my transfer to her."

Another look down at the creature that was once again chewing on her fingers. "And as far as me getting sick from her, well that doesn't bother me. I've seen this type of virus in other Echoes and really it's nothing more than a cold. Not to mention she's had three injections lately and its unlikely that she can still transfer easily to me."

She looked to James again with a smile. "You make is sound as if I don't do this a lot. Believe me, I sleep more in random places than in my actual bed."
PostPosted: Sun Aug 21, 2005 7:36 pm

"this is actually the first time I've heard of you sleeping with a sick echo. I was under the impression that you mostly just obsevered nad treated them like patients in a doctor's office. And I'm just mildly concerned is all. Some viral agents are alot tougher than others, and for creatures with no exposure, the flu bug can be fatal."

He was still in serious mode, though he did give her a bit of a smile in return of hers.

"Ask Erik, he'll tell you. You're more likely to find me sleeping in a chair or at a desk, or at a computer then in my bed. I think I can sleep just about everywhere. And I'm not really sleeping with her, I'll just grab a chair outside of the pen in here and just watch her through the night, observe her vitals and the like, monitor things."

She shrugged lightly. "Treating them like a normal patient isn't the way to go about it with them. It's a trust factor. Besides, I did that once before and I lost one of my Echoes. If it had been under constant watch by someone and not just a computer, it would of been fine."

Quiet for a moment before she went on. "Over the last few weeks though we've been injecting them with something akin to the old flu shots. You know, give you a little to make you immune to the actual virus. Helps, but you know. Can't help everything." Picking up the little fox again she walked it back over to the pen and coded the door once more, setting it inside and closing the door, letting it automatic lock.

Of course then she went to a cabinet on the wall and pulled out a few supplies. Standard vial of nanos used in virus prevention for human, air powered syringe, alcohol wipe, and she rolled up her sleeve, looking back over to James again. "Yeah if you're ever looking for me, don't head to my room first."
PostPosted: Sun Aug 21, 2005 7:54 pm

"I know that much. I always go to your office first. and you know I can do a better job than that thing in your hand. and I didn't mean not have someone watching your echoes that are sick, just trying not to get them worse than they are. But your the expert, Doctor, I'm just a military grunt."

A small grin.

"I do what I'm told."

And he walked over, taking the air airpowered syringe and the virus prevention vilas of nonamachines and set them aside.

"My way is faster. you'll just have to trust me, and lift up your shirt. plus, it'll last a hell of a lot longer."

A raised eyebrow at parts of his sentence, he could do a better job than the thing in her hand? A moment of thought spent on that before she let it pass."Sure, expert, if that's what you want to call me." She shook her head with a hint of smile. "I think I'm more of an eccentric doctor with a few degrees."

Though when he came over and moved her stuff away she looked up to him with a blink. And another blink at him. "Um...okay..." She was a little lost at this point but of course the scientist in her agreed. So Jelena pushed off the counter she had been leaning on and lifted up her shirt a little, exposing her midsection.

He opened his hand, and drew out several small vials of nanomachines, and set them aside, opened up another panel on the upper arm, got a set of new vials and put the nano contents she was going to use into the vials, and reset them in his hand, and a look at her.

"Two ways, you can watch and I use your tummy, our you can turn around and I use your spine. up to you."

A hissing from his hand and a small grin.

"Not to mention this covers every virus short of cancer. and that includes spaceborne and terra virals. and a few of the more dangerous STDs."

"Good lord James, you're your own drug store aren't you?" Then again...military. Made sense that he would be equipped with the latest in everything. Okay, so it wasn't that much of a surprise after all. But she turned her back on him. "I think I prefer not to watch, actually." And also because she was way too ticklish on her stomach.
