Sabine, Senshi of Tactics

The chaos of the situation was only getting worse. Suddenly where there had just been a large, roaring youma spitting fire and spewing acid and burning ichor there was now a FLAMING dragon doing god knew what over them. The Scales had come down like the hail that was now falling and at that moment in time, all Sabine wanted to do was cry. Curl up protectively around her bucket of starseeds and sob uncontrollably until the Negaverse inevitably came to kill her or corrupt her.

Why was she even here again? In hindsight her gung-ho attitude and reasoning was stupid. Doing this to protect the planet and strike a blow against the Negaverse? Really? She could barely protect herself! How could she ever hope to keep anyone safe if she was frozen cold with terror.

She heard a voice, someone, shouting at her but she didn't dare look up as she slowly scuttled forward in the din and the noise. She only stopped moving, when the noise grew to be too much. Dropping to her knees, she had to cover her ears, clenching her eyes shut before letting out a loud panicked scream.

When her eyes opened again, she looked up and around at the crazed din, at the knight moving toward her, and at the hunk of scale laying nearby. Picking up the hunk of scale, she looked up at the giant youma and flung it hard at the thing.

Finally, the knight's words fell on her ears, finally loud enough to be heard over the din. Looking at him, she blinked for a moment before nodding, but she refused to move from her knees, pail of starseeds between them as she kept her body protectively over them. "They need to get out..."

She wasn't sure if she was shouting, or crying, or speaking, all she knew is that she was cold, and all of this just seemed completely unreal anymore. "We need to save them..."

Super Sailor Thrymr, Senshi of the Southern Lights - with Labyrinthite, away from everyone else

He felt the wrench of Labyrinthite's hand away from his starseed and gave a sharp gasp of pain and surprise, Thrymr staggering forward abruptly. He fell to his knees on the rough, uneven ground, palms scraping the rock, and dragged in rattling breaths for air. One hand rose and clutched at his chest, fingers digging into the fabric of his uniform.

He was trembling all over. Thrymr pushed himself up again, swaying on his feet, his face flushed, blood smeared along one cheekbone from Labyrinthite's finger. Body aching, his mind racing, he pressed a hand back against the stone wall to keep his balance, his other still grasping at his chest.

Running was an option. He knew that, knew that he should just turn and leave and try and get out before anything else happened. But Thrymr's legs were unsteady; he couldn't seem to make them move, his eyes fixed on Labyrinthite's face once more.

I feel like I can't walk away from you.

"Kindness has more place in war than death," Thrymr rasped, his throat aching, along with his heart. "Maybe you've just f-forgotten that."

Ambrosia- mental breakdown mode

With the appearance of the Greater Youma, Ambrosia felt her heart drop. How were they supposed to to defeat that? They were being attacked from the air, youma from the front, and the terrifying General Queen from behind. Surrounded by battle on all sides; the Chibi Senshi felt very much alone. Everyone around her was fighting. Perdita summoned another broom to throw at the dragon, who had essentially burst into flames. Ambrosia ducked as fire rained over her, followed by scales, followed by more fire. She yelled, covering her head with her arms and practically laying on the ground.

Laying on the ground...maybe the youma would leave her alone. In fact, she could act dead, and then they'd ignore her completely...

The screaming, roaring, the sizzle of magic..her brain was overloaded. Ambrosia move her hands form her hand to her ears, trying to shut out the sounds of battle. She remained crouched, eyes screwed shut with her hands over her ears.

I just want this to be over. she prayed, feeling hot tears close. I just want to go home.

Corvus, Eternal of Vengeance
Location - With Celsus and Centisma, near Laurelite
Action - Trying not to catch on fire. Or get scythed in half. Surviving?

Given no further instruction to do otherwise from their mistress, the astral crows summoned by Sailor Corvus continued their assault on the youma. One disintegrated into stardust the moment one of the youma's scales pierced one of its constellation markings. The other two swept in once more to attack where they could before they too returned to ether.

Her mouth formed an 'o' as she skidded to a halt just shy of running in to Laurelite, catching the look on the other woman's face as Celsus stabbed her in the back. "Are you crazy?" She shouted without meaning to. She had meant to say 'Let go and let's get the hell out of here!' Her brain had other ideas.

Then Corvus was dodging Laurelite's scythe, ducking one frenzied swipe only to find herself caught and knocked away on the back swing. She stumbled back, coughing as she tried to catch a breath only to inhale smoke. Everything was on fire and the world was coming down around them. Scales were raining down and then something else joined them; not more fiery death, but cold.

Hail.

Castor.

"Celsus, please, we have to go. We have to --," she coughed, bringing her arm up to shield her face from the smoke. "Please."

Corinth, Page of Neptune

Corinth had never really wondered what hell was like, but now he felt he might have gotten a first hand glimpse into at least the edge of it. Hissing from the heat as the youma shed its scales and lit itself alight, he scrambled for a discarded scale, one of the larger ones, and grabbing it in both hands threw his whole body into it and lobbed it as hard as he could at the dragon.

He hoped he'd managed to do some decent damage with it, but once it was airborne he didn't stand still too look at it. Instead, he saw a flash of blue hair come out of a nearby smoke cloud, and he made a mad dash toward it, only skidding to a stop once he was beside Dallol once more.

He didn't say a word, instead, he simply formed up on her and waited for her to notice his presence.

Eternal Athene -- by Alcor, Eleonora, Liryn, Gorner, Subamara, Grus and Ananke

Somehow, despite everything Subamara was still managing to smile as she spoke to the red and yellow-haired senshi (Ananke) by her.

It was such a.. A Gigi-ish thing that Athene couldn't help the small quirk of his lips, even as the curly-haired senshi mentioned to the red and yellow-haired senshi about being able to help with dodge and stepped a little way from the group as she lifted her hands...

His small smile turned to a look of horror as the dragon head came from as if out of no where, his mouth opening in a futile attempt to try and call a warning even as the head of the dragon crashed into Subamara and knocked her down.

Gorner had flung her vase at the thing and the red and yellow-haired senshi had shifted so that she was somehow in front of their group, calling on her magic as dragon scales headed in their direction.

Athene looked at Subamara, his eyes worried beneath his glasses as she managed to pull herself back to her feet, even as the red and yellow-haired senshi turned her attention towards her and to Grus.

They couldn't stay here.

It was clear they couldn't stay here - especially as the dragon appeared to have managed to just light itself completely on fire.

Fire. Fire.

Hail suddenly started to fall, but Athene didn't think that it was a normal one - because it wasn't hitting or at least it wasn't hitting him or those from the small group with his - even though it looked like it was falling over a pretty wide area.

Fire.

The hail gave him an idea and Athene turned to look at the twins.

"Alcor are you out of magic? Could you do what did before with this?" He gestured awkwardly towards the sash with the stones that she and Eleonora had used to create a makeshift cold pack slash bandage.

Because there were shards of crystal and scales in varying crystal and if Alcor was up for using her magic then perhaps cold projectiles would give them a better chance against the flaming youma.

And he rather suspected that they needed all the chances they could scrounge up.

General Labyrinthite

Thrymr collapsed to his knees and a hundred thoughts passed through Labyrinthite's head. First, that he'd left too much space between them. Second, he didn't know if he wanted to close the distance despite that room it gave the senshi to escape. Third, there was something in the way Thrymr looked at him that got under his skin. The list went on as he watched the super stand on shaky legs.

"Death is not the end," came his answer as he swallowed dryly. "Death is not the only answer in war," he clarified feeling the need to defend his words, his actions, who he was.

"Kindness like yours will get you killed," he stated firmly, harshly daring to step forward despite his desire to keep the space between them. Once more he thought of Hvergelmir and the shoulder she had once offered him. "To put kindness first is to be naive Thrymr." His name spilled from the general's tongue like acid.

"You may not fear death, but I doubt you would welcome it."

Like I might, he thought, fingers clenching into fists at his sides. His jaw set, ticking as he pushed down the growing uncertainty and confusion that was threatening to bubble with in him. Now was not the time or place.

"Everything comes with a price, what will you pay to ensure your freedom - your life?"

Falias, Squire of Earth

Falias hadn't been expected the scream that had come on the heels of his attempt to try and call out to the red-haired senshi (Sabine) garbed in red and gold, but it didn't stop him from continuing to pick his way towards her, albeit with a lot more awkwardness than before, because hell if he felt comfortable in just leaving her on her own.

She wasn't even looking at him, her attention on the dragon youma as she picked up what looked to be part of one of the thing's scales and tried to lob it in back its direction.

He was closer by that point and so Falias called out to her again
"Hey" because the last thing he wanted was for her to think that she was being snuck up on.

She did look at him this time round, even if she didn't move from her position, although her words weren't quite what he was expecting.

Nor were the contents of the pail that she appeared to be trying to guard, his green eyes widening at the sight of yet more starseeds.

He couldn't help but think on the ones that he had found in the jacket - the ones that he was carrying in the makeshift bag that he had used it to fashion...

Because where the heck were all these starseeds coming from?

He shook his head knowing that now really wasn't the time as he held out an awkward hand to the senshi.

"I'll help you" he said, because - as with the ones that he had found earlier - he would very much rather that they didn't find their way back into the hands of the Negaverse...

And there was also the factor - that was somewhat more pressing - that he didn't want to leave the kid senshi on her own.

Super Sailor Denebola - dizzily putting herself between Castor and Hatsya

Denebola thanked Cosmos that Altais had heard her and had responded, managing to catch her and protect her from the worst of the fall. She was gasping for air, her head spinning from the exertion her magic always took out of her. "A-atlais," she gasped reaching for the strong arms that wrapped around her protectively.

She pulled away from him as quickly as she could, dizziness intensifying with the sudden movement. "s**t, are you - " was he bleeding?

Her heart was thudding in her chest at the realization even as she tried to stand on wobbly legs. "Find Corvus, you n-need to get out." She told him, breathing heavily, chest heaving as she looked around her surroundings acutely aware of the sudden chill that fell across her skin.

Castor had cast magic across them and the cold of his hail felt nice against the slight burns on her skin from her close proximity to the youma. She saw everything happen in slow motion and she stumbled forward without thought, as she'd done most of her actions that night.

It was a no brainer to put herself in the way of the ethereal sword and the prince who was quiet possibly the only chance they had at getting out alive. She gasped when the sword went through her and not the royal behind her even if it did not hurt.

Mauvian Sailor Ash - Hiding with Monty and a downed Aegir

Hiding behind an outcropping of crystal near the path back to the portal had only gone moderately well. They’d avoided most attacks, and the scales raining down from the monster youma, but they’d still had to fight off a few lieutenants and youma that had gone for them. By the time the blonde crash landed nearby, Ash was nearly at her whit’s end… frazzled and singed and bleeding from small cuts whenever her fuku left skin exposed. She saw the senshi land and she let out a sharp little cry as she rushed after Mont Blonc to lend a hand dragging the team leader back into the (relative) safety of the crystal.

“Aegir!” She fussed as she knelt next to him. “I knew we shouldn’t have split up… Goodness, this has been such a mess. I’m sorry I haven’t be able to do more…”

As soon as he mentioned going back out, she bristled and shoved a hand into his chest, pushing him back down.

“You’re not going anywhere like this!” She snapped, green eyes flashing behind her visor. “They almost killed you last time, and… and… you’re not… strong enough…”

Something tickled at a buried sense and little gray ears perked forward, standing to attention over the nest of rather ragged looking curls the cat girl wore. Concentrating on the senshi, she splayed her fingers wider and frowned, reaching with that inner sense. The moment she had it, her face lit up and cleared, transforming into something almost hopeful and eager. Without warning, she reached again and pushed and twisted something, gentle warmth spreading out from her hand against his chest. It wasn’t much, barely noticeable, but she laughed in triumph when she pulled her hand away.

“Aegir, take out your pen! I need you to say ‘Aegir Eternal Power, Make up!’” Ash said, her voice urgent as she all but hovered over him, her hands closed into excited fists held to her chest.

“Oh man, this is going to be good…” She squealed under her breath.

Lieutenant Aluminite - With Tourmaline and Dia

"Yeah okay," he breathed, the flush of his cheeks diminishing as Tourmaline tried to smooth out his ruffled feathers. "I can do that - " he hadn't finished when Dia asked if she was included in the invite. He didn't know the pink haired woman but he couldn't very well say no.

So he sighed and offered a strained grin towards both of the girls. "Yeah, of course. I'll take both of you out - we'll just - " he cut off as chunks of the dragon came flying at them and without thinking he grabbed at both of them, pulling towards his chest in an attempt to shield them from the scales that came crashing down around them.

"Watch out!"

The cry was the only warning they received as he moved in a poor attempt to protect him. A scale skidded across his back, tearing open his uniform and ripping at his flesh until it was reddened and torn open. He hissed in pain but did not get a chance to recover because suddenly they were being pelted by rain, the harsh cold crawling across his skin and leaving him gasping in pain even as he attempted to shield Tourmaline.

It was quick thinking that left him grasping one of the fallen scales, attempting to use it to protect Dia even as he himself was being pelted by hail.

He'd probably have welt bruising by then end of the night.

Today officially sucked.

Sailor Aegir of Silence - Getting chastised...and an Eternal upgraaade~

Ash's pretty face pinched in worry and her little hands shoved at him to keep his body down; the super didn't have enough energy built up yet to really right the pair holding him back. "Ash, you've done plenty. You both have." And she was right, they probably should have stayed together - he certainly wouldn't have sent them off to the portal alone if he'd known they wouldn't be able to get through.

'You're not...strong enough...' Ash was correct, he knew it. He was not strong enough like this; he was wounded and battle worn already, and he had used all of his magic - unless he wanted to pass out...which really wasn't a viable option at the moment. Not that it mattered, Aegir would get back up as many times as he had to, to try and keep his friends safe. "You're right, Ash, but..." He reached up, placing one burnt, bared hand over one of hers on his chest, meaning to gently remove it so he could get up...but there was something in her expression, in the twitch of her ears, that stopped him.

Small fingers spread across his filthy fuku over his heart while the Mauvian concentrated. The chill around them deepened, finally getting to the point where Aegir's skin broke out in gooseflesh, dividing his attention as her expression brightened. "What--oh!" Warmth, just a bit and if he'd not been concentrating on her hands he might have missed it, but it had been there - and now Ash was excited and telling him to take his pen out, to call out again, as he'd done once before, after Faust had promoted him to Super Senshi.

Obediently the curly haired blond brought his pen forth, the shape familiar but unfamiliar in his hand, sitting up slowly, painfully until he was able to get to his feet - with help from Mont Blonc and Ash. Castor's hail still rained, causing damage to Chaos and bouncing onto the ground as it hit with solid thunks. "Aegir Eternal Power, Make up!"

Magic, warm and familiar surrounded him, changing out the stained and wrecked uniform of his super senshi self with something a lot more covering...and also a lot cleaner. Very fluffy, poofy sleeves, gold leggings, a long sash. His brooch was now more roselike. Aegir looked down at himself and blinked a bit - he really stood out! And he had wings on his a**...like Thraen and Ida...and every other eternal he'd ever met. "Holy s**t, wow!" Mont Blonc had an expression that said he wasn't sure he was still alive, and Ash seemed still excited and somewhat hopeful.

It momentarily distracted from the hell around them - and boy, he was quite a bit warmer! And less exhausted - not by a lot, but enough that he knew...knew he'd have another casting in him. New magic.

Would it be enough?

'Be enough to help, please.' It was all he could ask; he'd been given another chance to make a difference. He didn't wait or thank Ash, though he was grateful and would have enjoyed taking some time to admire his spangly upgraded self, instead he moved from behind the outcropping - back out into the fray, buttwings and sash fanning out behind him, already absorbing acrid smoke and ash and losing some of the pristine newness.

Resolute, Aegir reached down inside to summon his new attack, hands going over his head as he called it out, blood slowly seeping through the gold of fuku. "Soundless Tranquil Ocean!" Golden energy flooded from his outspread hands, reaching from his location towards the portal, through the monsters gathered there and even - yes - some part of it reaching for that goddawful flying dragon youma and it's burning flesh as it swooped above.

'Let it help!' Because it was all he had, other than fisticuffs and throwing rocks/crystal shards/other senshi.

Rolling for hitting youma as well, but if it's a weak-a** attack, we can assume he fails miserably and that the bulk of the magic hits the throng of youma @ the portal.

Soundless Tranquil Ocean -- Multi-enemy non-directional zone-based field attack; Instead of 'ropes' a wash of energy floods over the enemies, knocking them down and then going more rope-like, coiling around their limbs to hold them still/silent for a length of time. As an added 'joy' the attack - in the initial stage (the flood) - has a chance of drowning (knocking out) the enemy.

Super Sailor Thrymr, Senshi of the Southern Lights - with Labyrinthite, away from everyone else

Thrymr pushed himself, slowly, back, so that he was resting on his knees, his palms feeling scraped raw against the rocks and shattered shards of crystal and scales. His chest was throbbing; he felt his fingers convulse where they clutched at his uniform, the white of it slowly turning ashen from the debris and the smoke.

"Death is an escape," Thrymr rasped, lashes fluttering. "An excuse, not a solution."

He didn't know why he was saying it, why he was continuing to stay here with this man who was so obviously going to kill him. There was a crunch of footsteps as Labyrinthite stepped closer, and the sound of his own name felt twisted and wrong, Thrymr flushing, a flinch passing across his face.

Naive. He'd heard that before, more than once.

"No," said Thrymr, and he swayed unsteadily where he knelt, staring up at the general. "I don't - I d-don't want d-death."

He wasn't afraid of it, but not being afraid of death was not the same as being accepting of it. He had a life here. He had people he cared for, people he loved; a world to protect and so much at his fingertips that he could grasp it if he tried.

Thrymr felt dizzy. His eyes had fallen half-lidded, his cheek stinging painfully and slowly he shook his head.

"I can't give that up so easily," he whispered, and it ached.

Tomlin, Guardian Cat

Tomlin dropped to the ground in a flurry of ash and dust as the dragon’s scales started taking out the youma for them. It was just luck that wasn’t hit too – the scale brushed within whisker-distance, alarmingly close. He’d been focusing on trying to help Oort (and trying not to get clawed himself), not watching the skies, and the scales that were damaging to full-grown senshi could squash a cat his size into a ginger pancake. He had time to note, on the way down, that the scales had even left a dent in one of the huge golems, but not enough make the gap through that they so desperately needed.

He landed with the thump, but on his paws. Back on ground level, he had less smoke to contend with, but there was already too much of it in his system, choking his breathing, and the rush of collapsing youma-dust didn’t help as it all but buried him.

For a moment, he lost track of Chibi Oort, and then he realised why as the wind of the dragon’s passage rushed past him. It had attacked the boy, who hadn’t even been targeting it, as well as Perdita, who had.

He could hear Oberon calling to him, and Chibi Ambrosia’s cry of fear. Where had the rest of them gone?

“I’m here. Can we get the dragon over the golems?” he asked, though he had no idea how to set that up.

And then it was on fire, and the cat just wanted it to stay. Away. From. His. Friends.

As it swooped again, Tomlin hissed and ran up the back of the nearest youma, digging his claws in deep, and turned his face towards the dragon. His copper star turned gold then bright white as he focused the little energy he had left into the beam.

Lt. Huntite

He had been ignoring the greater youma, the fire not affecting him though the smoke was bit of a bother. It wasn't until the dragon youma started to fling it's blood around that he paid more attention to his surroundings rather then Elpis. One look around told him the dragon youma was in trouble and be backed away from the Senshi as some of the acidic blood landed between them. He cursed under his breath as he backed a bit farther away from the steaming ground so it wouldn't get on his shoes.

And then the hail started. The cursing got louder as he raised an arm over his head to protect it. His jacket wasn't doing much to protect him but it was better then nothing. While he was ducking he caught General Benitoite teleporting out of the corner of his eye. It was obvious that the General and the Corrupted (Hatsya) he had teleported were outnumbered as they tried to attack one of the fancy looking Senshi(Castor). His eyes darted over to Elpis to make sure she wasn't going to attack then turned and darted over to the small group to help. He was too far away to physically help just yet so he pulled out his weapon, something he wouldn't have done if he was close enough since it was just a headband with antlers, and tossed it at the Senshi with wings(Castor). He then yelled out in a rather mocking voice a variant of something he heard getting yelled in the battle. "Huntinton Headband Attack."
