"I am Romulus, yes, but I am also Eric. I am whatever you need me to be. Now rest until we get you home. There will be plenty of time for you to question me later." He shielded her eyes from the quick movements and sped back home. "Maria, get me the herbs, Antonio, see to it that the healing chamber is set up and fetch me some earth from my sleeping chambers. I am going to put her into a sleep and go hunting, then I will be back and we shall heal her before the sun rises."
The two moved quickly, doing as he asked and readying the proper rooms. Eric placed the injured girl on a bed in his healing room, then pushed for her to go to sleep so that he could go hunt and be strong enough to make her well. "Rest until my return, my little one. I will be back soon."

Her mind was a jumble at the speed of things, but one thing cut through to haze. "you're... leaving....?" she whispered.

"Just for a few minutes. I need to get a few things so that I can make you all better, Little One. I promise you I will not be gone long and that I will come back."

She nodded a bit, meekly, sleep calling to her. "...'better..." she mumbled as she drifted off.

He squeezed her hand and walked out, nodding to Maria and Antonio as he exited. "Will you two stay with her while I'm out?"
Maria smiled, "Of course Eric. But hurry. She looks bad."
Antonio nodded, "Yes. And neither of us are able to help her the way you are."
He nodded and went out, finding plenty of prey and feeding well. He felt it was going to be a long night.

She was out like a light until he returned.

Eric came back quickly and set about burning some herbs and making a tea for her later. "Now, we can do this two ways...you can be awake for this, or you may stay asleep and I will wake you at the end. Which do you prefer, Little One?"

She groaned a bit in her sleep, but did not stir.

"Alright, I will let you sleep then." He breathed in the deep scent of the herbs and set out to leave his body and heal hers. She had sustained several injuries, most of them now dirty and risking infection. Do not be afraid. I must heal from the inside out. He buried himself deep into his task, paying close attention to every cell and organ. Her eye wound was especially nasty, requiring extra time and energy to keep it from scaring. After one final check to make sure he'd gotten everything, he withdrew back into his own body, pale and tired from his efforts.

Her eyes fluttered open weakly as he finished. "what...?" she asked, confused.

"It is done, Little One. You are all healed and ready to face the world when you feel ready." He paused beside her, waiting for her to push him away, like she had before.

"Y...you saved me.... and then...healed me...." she whispered, like one trying to confirm that she no longer had cancer, like one saying something she couldn't quite let herself believe.

Eric nodded, gently reaching for her hand. "I will always save you. No one else, just me, in whatever form you need me in."
