tabacco is really good for bee stings, i totally got stung when i was little and my mum put some of her cigarette on it and it somehow got better...iunno.

the canned air...i heard this one story about a guy who was playing with canned air (or something along those lines) and he got high, and passed out. his face froze to the floor. i'm not sure how true it is, but its definately interesting. kind of reminds me how you can make some sort of drug out of windex and sprite...except that it makes you sweat blue.

i'm totally with you on capital punishment. why should we give the worst of the worst free libraries, weight rooms, cable tv, internet, health care, college, etc etc?! it makes no sense at all. not saying that everyone should be killed for littering or whatever, but seriously, capital punishment is pretty effective: it anialates the original problem, AND serves as a reminder to those who might be tempted of what will happen!

i personally think lethal injection is something of a joke, really. a murder does NOT deserve to die peacefully in his sleep.

...but thats just my opinion.

Yeah, my mom had gotten a bee sting once and a guy took some tobacco out of his can and put it on the sting. She said it worked really well. Dunno why, but yeah.

Sweating blue.. Somehow, to me, that seems funny out of context.

Yeah, death for littering is a bit harsh. I can see it now, the innocent litterer: "HEY! You just dropped a napkin on the ground as you were trying to keep your hot dog from falling out of it's bun! OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!!!!"

Oh, what was that guy from CA who just NOW got the death penalty carried out? I forgot his name, but the guy was a drug lord or gangster lord or something and there were a bunch of people harrassing the governor about killing him. "Let him live! Let him live!" Wow... It would've been kinda stupid to let him go, no? The public deserves to be completely protected from people like that.

i like to listen to music while drawing, but mostly so i can drown out distractions (tv in the other room, cars going by, etc) with something that i like to hear. i wont go so far as to say that music inspires my artwork, but it does help with the creative process.

but personally, my favorite type of music has got to be classical. because i am a musician and i've played so much of it firsthand, i guess it makes sense. there is nothing that excites me more (music-wise) than a good epic song, like Gustav Holst's Jupiter: The Bringer of Jolity or the Madison Scouts playing Malaguena. should probably check the spelling on that one though, hehe.

I love to listen to music while drawing. I'd have to agree with kirio in that it is great at drowning out outer distractions and helps with thinking creatively. ((Hey, Kirio, what do you play, since you mentioned it??))

I generally tend to listen to more of the "harmonic metal" style, as I've heard it called. Nightwish, Within Temptation, etc. However, I also like to listen to Russian Church music and Bach. Ahhhhh.... I love Bach's organ music. I also love Copland's stuff. The Hoe-down and the Fanfare for the Common Man are wonderful.

Handel is also a fav of mine, with his Wassermusik stuff. Has anyone else heard the full version of "In the Hall of the Mountain King" by Edvard Grieg? I mean the one with the chorus included. It's much better than the normal, instrumental version. Heck, the whole Peer Gynt suite is better with lyrics, even if I can't understand a lick of Norwegian!

It's funny, but I generally tend to veer towards the music they use in commercials, like Hoe-down (The "Beef" song), Palladio (the Diamond song), and some of the car commercial stuff. I still haven't found out what music Zales uses in their diamond commercials...

my primary instrument is french horn (THE best instrument on earth, i could go on about why, but i'll spare you. just trust me, its the best). i've been playing french horn for almost six years.

i also play a little (emphasis on little) trumpet, trombone, and flute. flute is the hardest for me, to be honest, just because there are so many buttons and i haven't quite gotten the hang of it.

funny that you mention Handel; i played the Messiah last christmas. i found it rather unpleasant, to be honest. but it's probably more enjoyable to just listen to it.

i'd have to say that my favorite composer is definately Gustav Holst. he composed "The Planets" a giant peice with at least 8 movements, 2 of which i have played: "Mars: Bringer of War" (which was used in Star Wars its the Death Star theme) and "Jupiter: Bringer of Jolity." Gustav uses all the instruments at once to create a truly epic peice. I have also played his "First Suite in Eb" which was excellent (great french horn solo).

and i'll stop now before i say too many words smile

I LOVE the sound of the French horn. So mellow and *sigh*... Yeah....

I think Jupiter is one of my favorites of Holst's pieces in the Planets Suite. I think the other was Uranus, but I can't remember... No, it's Neptune the Mysterious, no? If it is, then Neptune.

Messiah is definitely much more fun to listen to. I've done the alto choir part (yes, I'm female), and I thank my lucky stars I'm don't usually sing soprano. xd I love listening to the Vienna Boy's Choir CD of the Messiah. 3nodding

Star Wars! John Williams music! Wh00t!!! ((I also like John Williams, can you tell? biggrin ))

the french horn...so mellow, so majestic, so epic in every way! -sigh-

-looks at winamp playlist- yes, Neptune is the mysterious. Uranus is the Magician.

Star Wars is awesome. i just love epic music like that in movies, just like in Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Carribean (although i believe neither of those movies are nearly as cool as Star Wars, personally). i love music.

Sox: techno is strange i think. i like it and its cool, but at the same time techno is weird, somehow.

@Sox:
I kinda like trance better than techno... Go figure, since there's really not that much difference between any of 'em. xd

@kirio:
Oh, I think LotR is pretty close to being as awesome as the first Star Wars movie. Actually, with the exception of Qui-Gon Jin and Return of the Jedi, I have been rather disappointed in the movies that came after A New Hope... >.>

PotC had better make one heck of an ending on the third movie, because the second really was mostly just filler. Davy, the organ, Tia Dalma, and Barbossa made up for some parts where it was lacking, but still.

All of the scores for those movies are awesome. ((Dadgummit, where's a drooling emoticon when you need it?!)) I've still got to get the PotC2 OST.
