Ciaran's words earned him a sideways glance and a smirk, "I'm sure you did more than ask him what he thought of himself. I've seen you twist words. I've no doubt you wound him up tighter than a spring in hopes of sending him over the edge. He'd be a good addition to your guild were you to manage the task of hauling Blood Raine to the forefront of control. But then again, would you be able to handle that kind of unbridled power once it erupted? As far as I'm aware, in that mindset, all of his latent abilities are unleashed with no boundaries. I watched the footage you brought in of him with that girl. The celestial wizard. It's clear that side of him holds nothing dear and bears no loyalty. Kimura would have her work cut out for her attempting to put him under the thumb. You'd lose a lot just to gain that one. Best he stay in chains," she said conclusively, "I'd love to document his reactions to mental stimulation though. He's an ex lab rat, a child captive with no real name behind that fancy title. He'll last a long time physically," she said dreamily. She knew Ciaran loved to torture the minds of people who posed a good challenge and a chance to study it was once in a lifetime. She huffed in annoyance, "I wasn't underestimating them, I'm not stupid. I'm simply stating that we're aware of the basic behaviours. I'm academically smart but that doesn't mean I lack common sense. Are you forgetting I'm the one that designed a lot of the restrains for your captives?" she asked bluntly, "The escape of the lightning dragon slayer had nothing to do with anyone on my team. That was down to the guards you hired thinking it was a good idea to use tazers on him. Idiots." Moving back to the subject of Kaya and her capture, Dr Shaw sighed, "It figures she would send the exceed away. It's a silly trait those Fairy Tail wizards have, throwing themselves in harms way to save their friends. Don't get me wrong, I know other guilds do it too but even I know that guild is famous for it," she said, waving her hand dismissively, "Oh well, too late now. We'll have to make do. The wizards you defeated will be on high alert now. It's not worth the risk of capture if you send one of your less important members," she said nonchalantly. She wasn't being disrespectful by using that wording. Kimura herself had displayed little concern for the weaker members of her guild, going so far as to shrug off any thoughts of their well-being. The doctor was surprised that Ciaran had no after-thoughts about the disposal of Master Clement, "No? Not even if we'd done something with that little girl he was with? The one that used the same magic as you and committed suicide when she found out he was gone. I'm sure if you started off torturing her instead of him, he might have given up a little more," she said, a little late in her suggestion, "Eh, I don't know, I'm not the interrogation expert.". Dr Shaw pushed her wheelie chair aside, "Go ahead," she said, indicating to the computer. She listened intently to Ciaran as he told her of the research he'd done on his own, "Interesting. I doubt they had very thorough records back in those days but if the family does go back that far then we've got a hell of a gap to fill with relatives. Before we start any real experiments, I'd like blood samples. If you can hunt down a photo or even a portrait drawing or painting of this 'original' Kaya, that would be a great help. Finding pictures of the present day Kaya from when she joined Fairy Tail is easy. Social media is the biggest acceptable invasion of privacy in history. All we had to do was look at the Facebook account of Alyssa Smith. That girl takes a lot of selfies with a girl called Katiki Inu. These Fairy Tail wizards are scarily tight-knit. Couldn't tell if those two were siblings, besties or lovers," she shook her head, she'd never had friends like that and she couldn't understand the point. Her microscopes were her friends, and her cat. A smile broke across her face when the dark wizard asked about her tools of the trade for extracting information, "Ok, follow me," she said, leading him a few doors down to a room that resembled an armoury that instead of stocking guns, it contained knives, wires with tabs that could stick to skin, ropes, whips. It would have resembled the kinky area of a sex shop were some of the larger items not so menacing. She pointed to a chair for Ciaran to sit on, "For your water dragon slayer...," she began, bringing a bag to the table beside him, "An electric brander. You know like the metal stamps you use to brand cattle? We have a portable one! And... Iron skewers. Dragons heal quickly so these thin metal spikes will go through the skin like burning acupuncture. Painful but not fatal. We also have...," she placed several bottles of different colour liquids and tablets, "These are an interesting bunch. The red liquid is an injectable sedative should she get a bit too feisty, the blue liquid will wake her up if she passes out, the green will heighten her senses so that her pain will be more intense. The red tablets will cause a heated fever, like her blood has been heated up. Not nice for a water dragon and lastly the yellow tablets are hallucinogenic, which might be fun." She smiled, "I had the heating plate we have sent down already. It's basically like a tanning bed but hotter. It'll dry her out nicely." She zipped up the bag and placed it next to the dark wizard, "Did you want anything for Mr. Valentine?"

| Guild- Dragon's Bane | Rank- A-rank | Magic- Dark Écriture | ☯ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ☯ The white-haired man did not deny her words. “Am I that obvious?” He questioned her, tapping his chin in feigned thought. There was no doubt that he enjoyed twisting the words of others, especially prisoners. He loved the thrill of pushing them to the brink of their sanity, warping their thoughts until they could not bear it any longer. His pleasure grew stronger at each encounter. The more willful the opponent, the greater his excitement. Indeed, that is why he thoroughly enjoyed pushing Blood Raine’s buttons as he had, and he would relish in it further still when he returned to the holding cells. “Ah well, I must admit that I can’t deny a good and proper challenge. His denial spurs me into a level of enthrallment that few others have.” Ciaran shook his head, well aware that his entertainment could not last forever. “It will be a shame to see his end. I’m certain that Master Kimura could appeal to Blood Raine’s desire for death and destruction. But, I do fear that his raw potential makes him far too dangerous. As much as I wish he could join us, as you say, it’s better he be left as nothing more than a test subject. I do find solace in the odds of salvaging his magic. We might get lucky enough to find someone worthy of it and loyal to our cause. Then it wouldn’t matter as much.” It was the singular upside to the whole scenario. When all was said and done, Blood Raine would be no more, and his magic would be theirs. His fun would expire, though they could obtain a controlled version of the man. Sensing the wistfulness in the woman’s tone, the dark mage inclined his head in a slight bow. “I am more than happy to oblige, good Doctor. Simply give me notice when you want to do such studies and I will act accordingly. As you’ve stated, I have quite the knack for winding people up.” Lips parted even further in a feral smirk. He held no qualms with assisting the scientists in these sorts of experiments.
His grin dimmed slightly as her dreaminess became overtaken by annoyance. Holding his hands up, palms facing outward in a disarming gesture, he attempted to appease the woman. “Calm yourself, Doctor Shaw. I didn’t mean to offend you. I was merely making a statement of my own. The blame certainly doesn’t lie with you or the other scientists. I’m aware of that, as well as the mistakes made by the guards. Those buffoons have been dealt with.” He paused for his statements to settle before adding, “Your restraint designs are by far the most useful and unique. We’re currently using the dual-purpose model- the ones that both self-constrict and seal magic- for the Water Dragon Slayer. They’ve worked beautifully thus far.” Hoping that he had assuaged the woman’s anger, he returned to the main topic at hand. “Don’t be so hasty to dismiss it,” he cooed, the Irish lilt in his voice soothing. “Even if we missed the chance before, there still might be one available to us. The wizards can’t remain on high alert forever. Nor can they keep an eye on everyone at all times. Should Master Kimura okay it, I am more than willing to retrieve the flying cat for your research. Only one of their wizards saw me during the fight, and I can avoid her with fair ease. Although, it would take a bit of time since I would need to track them first. But,” Ciaran shrugged. “It is possible…if you truly wish to pursue the subject.” The man had to admit that he shared her curiosity of the strange connection between Slayer and Exceed. Their previous chance to explore it was robbed from them when the Lightning Dragon Slayer escaped alongside his Exceed partner. Those guards made a fool of our guild by acting on their impulses. When faced with a difficult situation, they reacted poorly and in error, thus costing them two key test subjects. No punishment could have made up for their idiocy, in his opinion.
Glimpsing her reaction, Ciaran tilted his head back so that he could gaze at the speckled ceiling above. “We would have eventually moved on to her. It was important to test the man’s boundaries first. Not to mention how amusing it was to hear the girl cry out in rage each time we did or said something to him she didn’t approve of.” He huffed his annoyance at the turn of events which had followed. “Clement was the Master of Fairy Tail for valid reasons. His will could not be broken. Of that I am quite sure. Tormenting the girl would’ve simply led to an earlier conclusion than what it did. Anyway,” Ciaran brushed off the disasters that had been Clement, Renae, and Kai. His hands flew over the keyboard as he focused on producing the information he discovered of Kaya. Giving a moment for Shaw to examine the file, he shook his head, pointing to the data, “I already looked for a photo of her. There are no portraits or pictures of anyone by that name in the Japanese records. Honestly though, I’m not surprised since, apparently, the village and nearly all its records were destroyed. What survived is a dead end for our purposes, pertaining to the politics and culture of the day. Most of the families seemed to lose their personal belongings, if not their lives, in the wake of destruction.” It frustrated him to no end to know that he tracked the information so far but came away with so little. He desired to know more of the ancestor of the Dragon Slayer. His hopes for finding some intel that he could use to trip her or that might lend to their research were all but dashed. “What’s worse, we don’t have a picture of her in our files either. The original scientists from when the experiments were first being done those two hundred years ago were remiss in their reports. We have the results of their experiments on the original Kaya, as you well know, but the most we can do is to compare those with her descendant’s as we go along.” Straightening to his full height, he crossed his arms over his chest. “Which is why I agree wholeheartedly starting with blood samples. It’s the easiest avenue. Aside from Facebook stalking…” A hint of teasing filtered into his tone and features. Doctor Shaw was entirely correct in her assessment of social media. The largest invasion of privacy ever created, and people flocked to it like moths to a flame.
The familiar predatory glint entered his yellow orbs. The good doctor planned to show him her tools of the trade. Like a child taken to the candy store, Ciaran followed behind her with glee coursing through him. It pulsated and writhed until it reached its zenith the second he crossed the threshold of the doorway into the equipment filled room. Tools large and small adorned every inch of the wall space, even larger ones taking up residence in areas of the floor. It was a moment worth savoring. Taking the seat proffered him, he soaked up the ambiance while he waited. A clank on the table next to him brought his attention back to the woman. One by one, she produced the chosen tools of torment, explaining their uses for the Dragon Slayer. “Oh yes,” he lifted the vial of green liquid, staring at it in open amazement. “I believe you’ve outdone yourself, Doctor.” He was already formulating his course of action. Which tools to implement and when. What questions to ask before employing each. The heating plate would be reserved for last. She was most likely still recovering from Aadava’s heat wave. Having her suffer heat stroke or worse would not be beneficial to them. Even so, it would come in handy for later usage. However, he could not deny his urgent desire to use the electric brander or liquids. Setting the liquid back onto the table, he peered around the room again before answering, “My goal at the moment is to get information from the Dragon Slayer. Besides, I rather enjoy prodding him on a mental level. Although—,” he bobbed his head. “It wouldn’t hurt to have something in case he gets to involved in my discussion with the Fairy. Do you have anything in mind?” Truth be told, Ciaran formulated a plan for the redheaded man the second he observed one of the tools. Perhaps even more fun lay elsewhere in the room of torture? Fun that could be executed whenever he desired. ☯ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ☯ ✸ OOC ✸ Nearly forgot that the "original" Kaya is in the database of test subjects for them. So, I did a bit of backtracking for it. Also, how big is the heating plate? Life size or more like a personal space heater? And long post here too!

◇◈◆◈◇◈◆◈◇ ϟ KAI TULVYR ϟ ϟ LIGHTNING DRAGON SLAYER ϟ ϟ SON OF ELECTRA ϟ ϟ FAIRY TAIL ϟ ◇◈◆◈◇◈◆◈◇Once again, The elite guard's fell on deaf ears, as Kai could hear the commosion Rex could make in a room far away from his current location. Rex had managed to escape his cage somehow. However, he was beset with a couple of guards with batons. Fortunately for Rex, he wasn't just useful for transporting Kai up in the sky, he knew how to fight too, albeit not a well as an Exceed with a combat transformation. At the very least, Rex stole 1 of their batons and was keeping them at bay. Kai desperately wanted to dash over to his assistance, but he was already preoccupied with a pest of his own. "Just you wait, Rex. I'll be by your side soon enough", Kai mumbled to himself, as he grabbed the mace being swung at him and crushed it by simply clenching his fist. "You know, you're really become a nuisance. I'm needed elsewhere, but here I am, having to be all the way here and teach you a F#@$ing lesson! Kai gritted his teeth and let his entire body sparkle in yellow lightning, as he charged another attack. A couple of seconds of charging and his eyes lighting up with yellow light and lightning sparks coming out of them later, Kai's charged magic turns into a hammer that he then brings down on his enemy. "Lightning Dragon's Thunder Hammer!", he shouted. ◇◈◆◈◇◈◆◈◇ ϟOOC: Ugh... -.- ϟ

Dr. Shaw rolled her eyes, "In the last few months I've spent enough time with you to go so far as to call us good acquaintances and I'm an avid people-watcher. It is my job after all. I'm more than aware of your hobby of mental torture," she said. She tapped her chin with her index finger thoughtfully, "Admittedly, I think even I will struggle to find someone compatible with his magic. Not that I'm opposed to causing a bit of pain but I'd rather not waste test subjects until we can refine it somehow. His magic was formed specifically with his own blood but I fear a simple transfusion would outright destroy a patient," she sighed, "Seeing him fight tells me that once his blood leaves his body for a spell, it becomes as hard as steel. That's how he creates the scythes, the sword, the claws and all those other fabulous sculptures he uses to tear opponents apart. So unfortunately, the prediction is it would harden within the test subjects veins. Obviously, that'll instantly end their life. Hopefully, the magic draining lacrima we developed will work as well as it did on the lightning dragon slayer." she concluded hopefully, "I'm sure you'll be pleased to know that the more riled up a subject is, the more magic we can draw out. An angry wizard is one that's preparing for a fight and whether they're able to utilise their magic or not. It still bubbles to the surface, ready for an attack so you can piss Raine Valentine off until he ruptures." She giggled, an oddly girly sound coming from such a professional. It was as though she were a whimsical child waiting to go down the rabbit hole of science with excitable glee. Dr. Shaw huffed, "I heard those boneheads got suitable punishment and a rather large pay cut. Too right. Perhaps that cut can go to more research," she said with a tone of hopefulness. Kimura had already put an awful lot of money into her science department so she didn't actually expect more. Her funding was more than enough. She waved her hand dismissively, "No no, not to worry. The exceed would be with the person who saw you I have no doubt. Alyssa, was it? The number one S-class of Fairy Tail. It's a shame her magic isn't something you can transfer. Her strength would have been useful but as good as my work is, I cannot implant the skill to wield a sword or control the ability to even summon one." Regardless of not having a magic that was suitable for research, Shaw had still requested information be collected on all of the light guild members. The scientist in her wasn't just useful for torture utensils, restraints and magic transfer, she was also able to plan out specific items for battle should she have the time. Who wouldn't want armour than could counter the fire of a purgatory dragon slayer? She was sure one day she could achieve such things. Shaw raised her eyebrows, "I'm impressed with your devotion to your master's plans. Your research skills would be a welcome addition to our group. Should you ever decide on a change of career, I'd be happy to hire you," she said cheerfully, "I think I'll come down with you. I'll grab a few blood sample kits. We'll need some extra strong needles as I'm aware some dragon slayers can form scales on their skin? I don't know if this girl can but you can never be too careful. And that troublesome ace can harden his blood," she shook her head. Damn magic users, they could be such a pain sometimes. The doctor blushed at Ciaran's compliment of her good work, "Well, I had some spare time and I thought I would work with some chemicals is all," she said bashfully. Clearing her throat, she brought out a few more items, "Well, the electric brander actually has changeable heads. You can have numbers, letters or shapes just for fun. You'll need these heat-proof gloves to change them over. We don't need you branding yourself as well," she said, placing the bag of extras beside the dark ecriture wizard, "You can use the vials and pills on him too. I have a bunch of scalpels if you want to write your name on his skin with those," she shrugged, "I heard you have a talent for carving," she added. As she packed the numerous devices into two bags that they could easily transport down to the cells, she paused for a moment, "Did you mean it when you said I'd be a good addition to the guild? I mean, as much as I prefer science, I've always played with the idea of doing research on myself using the idea of developing magic at a later stage in life," she said, "I know an awful lot of wizards start learning their magic from a young age. Almost always in the single digits. However, I'm already in my twenties so... Oh, I don't know. I'm probably being silly. I don't even know what kind of magic would suit me," she sighed. "Shall we head down?" she smiled, heading out of the equipment room and making her way to the locked and coded door that lead down to the underground cells, "Let's have some fun. Do you want to call Kimura before we go? I'm sure she'd want to be there for the questioning." Dr. Shaw smiled as she keyed in the code.
[Exit to underground cells]
OOC: I will post down there nice Kaya and Raine are done in the next few posts. With the heating plate, think tank bed but only one side of it, not a two-sided open and shut thing. You can lay her on it or prop her up against it. Whatever you want. It's full body sized.

| Guild- Dragon's Bane | Rank- A-rank | Magic- Dark Écriture | ☯ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ☯ Ciaran grinned, “And a wonderful job you perform.” The fact that the woman observed his methods and actions so thoroughly pleased him. Not many viewed his chosen avenues with such curiosity. Indeed, very few could handle his practices, becoming disturbed and uncomfortable to the point of desertion. Yet it did not bother him when such instances occurred. It was the natural order of life, in his humble opinion. “Hmmm,” he hummed thoughtfully, acknowledging the scientist’s prediction for Blood Raine’s magic. “I have no doubt that you and your team will find the answer to that particular question, my good doctor. Yet I do see the point you’ve made. Wasting test subjects for the sake of it does little to achieve our goals. Perhaps testing his blood’s properties would be more prudent in this case.” It would take longer to obtain their version of the Blood mage, to be certain. However, perfection took time and, as was always taught to him, anything worthy of achievement was worthy of careful planning and detailing. His features brightened even further. The sound of Dr. Shaw’s giggle after sharing about the magic draining lacrima echoed his own sentiments. “That pleases me immensely,” he cooed. His Irish brogue laced every syllable. Despite needing little reason to push the man, nonetheless, the woman had supplied him with even further incentive. Being able to retrieve more magic in one sitting would provide a wider pool of it during testing.
“Perhaps,” Ciaran offered up a non-committal statement. He did not know what plans Master Kimura had for the newly determined excess funds. It was probable to see it funneled into more research, yet equally as possible that it could be used to further their endeavors elsewhere. Whatever she chose to do with it, it was not his place to mention. “Very well,” he inclined his head, accepting the doctor’s dismissal of the Exceed. “Whatever you wish. But, remember, I am always willing to retrieve him if you ever do want to pursue it. I have my ways of remaining undetected, even by an S-rank such as Alyssa Smith.” Eyes glistening wistfully, he said, “Requip and Takeover magics are troublesome. Their very purpose is to obtain power through training, without relying on raw power alone. The amount of skill required to wield either would demand we find a test subject whom already possesses some level of ability with it. Far too time consuming, and less rewarding than elemental magic. But,” his rolled his hand in a flippant gesture. “I digress.” The young man chuckled upon seeing her quirked brow. He stood up then bowed at his waist, flinging one arm out in an over the top manner. “Why thank you. I shall keep the offer in mind. Though, if I am honest, there is little that would cause me to want a change of career. That said, I am not against freelancing for you at times. My thirst for knowledge and research is nearly as unbearable as my thirst to see pain and create art from it.” Anyone without knowledge of his hobbies would find his words creepy. But they were the truth. His passion lay in forming art through the infliction of pain. A point the fairy and tiger below would soon become aware of.
The young man nodded his agreement. He had been ready to extend the offer to the woman. She seemed capable enough. Able to shut off her moral compass and disengage from the suffering of the test subjects. Additionally, she would be useful in retrieving the blood samples with little fuss, as well as utilizing the magic-draining lacrima in his stead. He did not desire his magic to be drained along with the others’ after all. Fingering the vial of green liquid again, Ciaran gave her an appraising look, “You have a rare talent, Dr. Shaw. I’m glad you’re able to put it to use here.” He watched with intrigue as she continued to rifle through more items, pulling them out before setting them on the table to explain their use. His eyes lit up to find that he could do so much more with the electric brander. I know exactly what to do with that. Ciaran could see it clearly in his mind. The agony and torment that would be bestowed, inch by distressing inch, onto the Dragon Slayer and Blood mage. As the doctor packed the items away, “I generally don’t carve on skin. It isn’t as malleable as a pumpkin, if you can believe that. Tends to grow floppy with age as well which only serves to lose the effect.” His tone was casual, as if he were talking about carving a steak instead of a human body. “But…scalpels are useful for…other things.” In the same span of time, Ciaran found himself staring into the pensive gaze of the scientist. His prior assertions appeared to dance across her mind. “My dear Dr. Shaw, I wouldn’t have said it if I didn’t mean it. As you extended your offer to me, I would like to extend one to you. Should you need a career change and find yourself successful with that experiment, I am certain that Master Kimura would gladly accept you into our ranks.” He did not dare elucidate more than that. However, if he had, he would have clarified that she would be accepted because she proved herself strong enough to survive a dangerous experiment.
Motioning towards the doorway, Ciaran said, “After you.” He followed the woman’s lead in taking possession of one of the satchels before exiting the room. When they paused at the coded door, he reached into his pocket to retrieve his cell phone. “I’m texting her now. The Dragon Slayer is of great interest to her, so I know she’d be very upset if she missed out on questioning her.” The white-haired male keyed in his message swiftly, hitting send at the very instant the door to the holding cells unlocked. The text was simple yet sufficient. “Time for some fun. Meet below?”

Noting in the background that Kai’s weird flying cat had appeared, it seems that some of the guards had the idea to hold him as a hostage. It’s a shame that none of them appeared to be component enough to keep a hold of the winged creature. Where has his beloved master found these imbeciles?! The dark wizard’s attention was brought back to the real fight just in the nick of time before a lightning hammer was almost brought down on top of his head. He laughed heartily at the lightning dragon slayer, "You fool, no matter where you go now, you won’t be able to help anyone. You’ll be far too late. Plans are in motion as we speak and your friends will lose with or without you by their side. We will have all of the dragon slayers in our possession and a few more interesting souls on our list but we’ve drained enough of your magic for me to quite happily dispose of you should I be unable to restrain you," he smirked, "Then I’ll turn your cat into a handbag!" he grinned. He once again swung his large mace towards Kai.

◇◈◆◈◇◈◆◈◇ ϟ KAI TULVYR ϟ ϟ LIGHTNING DRAGON SLAYER ϟ ϟ SON OF ELECTRA ϟ ϟ FAIRY TAIL ϟ ◇◈◆◈◇◈◆◈◇The guards were fighting like civilians who'd just been given weapons and were thrown into a life-or-death fight. Rex was having an easier time handling the guards blocking his path to Kai. Rex flew in between the 2 guards, fooling one of them to knock out the other with the only baton in their disposal. With the lack of concentration after realising that he'd taken out one of his own, he didn't notice Rex swinging the baton, hitting him from behind. Having dealt with his enemies, Rex rushed over to his best friend's side. The first thing he sees is a mace being thrown at Kai, to which Rex dashes towards. By kicking it away, Rex manages to save Kai. "How long will it take for 1 measly enemy, dude," Rex asks with one hand covering his mouth that's about to burst with laughter. "I had it all under control. But since you're here now, let's take him out together. Partner," Kai responds with a clenched fist and a menacing grin. "As for you, I'm done with your endless blabbering. watch my new move I just came up with!" Kai presses his thumb and long finger together as hard as he can, generating electricity between them. "Lightning Dragon's Thunder Wave!" He snaps his fingers as hard as he can sending a shockwave that paralyses the elite guard. "Now, Rex!" Kai clenches his hands and charges an attack as Rex responds to the queue "Yeah," Rex shouts as he already knows what his partner wants him to do. He flies behind Kai and carries him up in the air and dashes towards the paralysed guard "Lightning Dragon's Jaw!" With his hands clapsed together, Kai brings them down on the guard's skull. ◇◈◆◈◇◈◆◈◇ ϟOOC: The only thing Kai knows is that they have also been captured. I planned on having him found their corpses. The iron-make wizard was confused. He came up with a spell on the spot? This guy was meant to be a bone-headed dragon slayer who used power over brains. However, as a wave of electricity spread across the floor, he felt the muscles in his legs seize up. The paralysis moved up, trapping his chest and arms and finally his head, leaving only his mouth and eyes able to move, "You... you created a fancy version of that little lightning mage's attack? You think it can stop me with that?" he growled, trying to move his body to cast a spell but finding it impossible. He realised that this wasn't good. Kai had played a winning hand out of nowhere and as the slayer brought his fists down on the dark wizard, he felt the full force of the slayers fury and he yelled in pain, crashing to the floor. He attempted to scramble up but was still unable to move, "No, this shouldn't be possible! You're just a lowly fairy!" he bellowed.

◇◈◆◈◇◈◆◈◇ ϟ KAI TULVYR ϟ ϟ LIGHTNING DRAGON SLAYER ϟ ϟ SON OF ELECTRA ϟ ϟ FAIRY TAIL ϟ ◇◈◆◈◇◈◆◈◇Kai was amazed by the result of the technique he had come up with on the spot. All of the guards were stuck in place, unable to move an inch, the elite guard included. The last attack Kai delivered upon him had brought had brought their leader on the ground. Kai felt like he was in control of a situation since he was abducted by Dragon's Bane. Kai didn't know how long the paralysis would be effect, but the possibility that it was only temporary was still very high. He absolutely could not let this opportunity go to waste, as he could bring all of this to a close and return to his guild with his guildmates that were abducted along with him. "That's right. See this as another good thing of having comrades, they are always there to help you, even when you least expect it," Kai started off as he crouched down like a monkey, speaking to the guard who had his cheek against the cold hard floor, with no option but to listen to his betters. Kai finally stood up and continued. "All credit goes to her though, for having come up with such a useful ability." As soon as his sentence finished, Rex hovered next to Kai's left shoulder. "I think this has gone on for too long. We have things to do and places to be, Kai," to which Kai responded by casually summoning a circle of electricity around him. "You're right. I'm so done with this place" The circle covered almost the entire room. Kai's hair was flaring up so much, and with such force, that the tiny black hair tie broke. All of the electrical equipment in the room were also affected by the lightning circle brought force by one of Kai's ultimate attacks. Circuit-failings, overloading and all manner of haywire was going on around them, as everything run by electricity exploded all around them. Kai brought his open palm in front of him and upon clenching it, all of the lightning encircling him, Rex and all the paralysed guards was sent to Kai's fist. "I appreciate the hospitality, but I believe the tea party is over, and I have to return home to my family. This is the end for you" All of the focused magic in his fist released upon Kai opening his fist. A massive ball of electricity appeared, ready to be hurled at his enemies. "Let's finish this, partner," Kai shouted, to which Rex simply responded with, "YEAH!" Rex grabbed Kai's back and carried him up high in the air, making sure the attack hit everyone of the guards present. "Dragon Slayer's Secret Art! Lightning Dragon's Lightning Emperor!" Kai throws the gigantic ball of lightning at all of the guards, which causes a huge earthquake, shaking the entire lab to it's very core. Rex finally brought Kai back to the ground. The whole room is filled with a dust cloud that evetually dispursed, leaving the room destroyed and all of the guards knocked out. Both of them stare at the unconcious bodies, spread out across the room before them. Kai is a little exhausted from his exchange with their leader. He was a tough nut to crack, but he came out victorious in the end, as always. Eventually, Rex turned his head towards Kai with a smug face. "Seems like you can't do anything without my help, huh?" Kai twitched and shouted back at his exceed friend. "Oh shut up! If it weren't for my weakened state earlier, this fight would have been a cake-walk. Anyways, we better hurry, before others show up." Rex nods and they both sprint for the nearest exit. Upon leaving the destroyed room, they end up in a long corridor that goes in multiple directions. There are doors with signs above them everywhere. Not sure of which way they should go, Kai uses his enhanced hearing to make sure no one spots them as they traverse this huge facility. Luckily, they both managed to enter the first door they could find, as dozens of guards run for the room with the defeated guards. Luckily for Kai and Rex, the room they ran into for safety just so happened to be the locker room. Jackpot! Kai used his immense strength to pry the lockers open with his bare hands until he found spare outfits. A minute of rushed, but careful searching through several lockers later, they finally find an outfit fit for Kai to put on and disguise his way out of freedom, but not before finding his friends. Unfortunately, there was none for Rex. However, Kai's was big enough for Rex to hide in, making Kai seem a 100 bounds heavier. Kai borrowed a random keycard, put his hair up and hid it under helmet before leaving. A minute or 2 of walking and Kai managed to find a control room. Kai got access to their CCTV cameras all over the floor he was on, which he used as a means of finding his friends. Unfortunately, they were nowhere to be found on the floor he was on and there was no way for him to know on what floor they were on, so he had to either ask someone and risk being found out, or take a gamble. But first and foremost, they need to find the stairs. Luckily for them, the camera footage in the control room showed a pretty good picture of the route to the stairs, which Kai decided to follow. "Kai, make sure to stay incognito. We wouldn't want to be found out by the other guards, who are already on alert as we speak," Rex whispered under the shirt. Fortunately for them both, the guards were running left and right, seemingly too occupied, trying to find them, not even considering that they may very well be disguised as one of them. "They are pretty damn stupid. I guess Dragon's Bane only hired muscle-brains as their guards," Kai thought to himself as he kept his gaze lowered while walking past all of the guards running past them. Kai eventually finds his way to the stairs, but it's blocked by a glass door. The door is locked and only a specific keycard can open it. Kai could spend time looking for the right keycard, but that would be a waste, since he could just destroy it with his magic. Kai makes sure that no one sees him before he overloads the mechanism. "Go to the floor below," Rex whispers somewhat loudly. Kai stopped in front of both the stairs leading up and the ones leading down. "Why down, Rex? Are they down there, you think?" Kai looked behind just in case someone saw him talking to his stomach. "I don't know for certain, but my gut tells me they're held downstairs." Kai hesitated fro a second, but decided to do as his partneer asked. Kai started walking down the steps. "Alright, I'll trust your gut feeling. Let's go, our friends are waiting for their knight in shining armor!" Kai could feel Rex hugging him from under his shirt "Thanks.Kai was now on the first floor, where the guards weren't as alert as the ones on the floor above. Kai noticed that they were patrolling left and right. Although they were still not considering the fact that someone could be disguising their way out right in front of their noses. Still, Kai had to be careful while walking past them. While pretending to patrol along with the other guards on the same floor as him, Kai felt a scent of blood. Which made him stop dead in his tracks. "Kai? why have you stopped?" Rex whispered to Kai with concern in his tone. "There's a smell of blood nearby. It could be someone who's injured" Kai was right. However, by going to their aid, he'd risk being found out. Especially if the injured person was a scientist who had gone through an experiment gone wrong and injured themselves in the process. But there was also the chance that the injured was a fellow inmate. "What? It could be an injured subject left for dead or something. Please be careful, though." Kai was speeding up in the direction of the room where the injured person was held. "Don't worry about it. I'll be careful" Kai had finally managed to find the source of the scent: A room with no sign and no keycard access module in place. Which could only mean that the person was left for dead, unable to to move and leave on their own. He took a deep breath and approached the door handle, but not before looking around to see if the coast was clear. A couple of guards had just turned around the corner on the other end of the corridor, away from Kai's line of sight. He quickly entered the dark room and closed the door behind him. He finally turned around and turned the light on, only to feel the dread overcome him over what he witnessed. A big room full of dead people. They were all wearing nothing but the subject briefs with different numbers on all of them. The very same Kai himself was wearing during his captivity. "Kai? What are you doing? Why aren't you helping the person in need?" Rex was a bit louder now, knowing that they were all alone with the injured person. Or so he thought. "I can't... There's no one to rescue here..." Kai barely managed to get those words out of his mouth, as he was dumbfounded by all the death around him. He'd never seen this much death in one place in his entire life, only in movies and such. "What do you mean by that? how's there no need for a res-" Rex was only able to say so much before he witnessed what was outside of the dark shirt he was hiding within. He was overcome with dread at the sight of the room. Rex was so shook by what he had just seen that he fell out of the shirt. Kai finally managed to gain control of his shaken legs and started to move forward. Rex flew up and rested upon Kai's right shoulder, looking around at all of the dead subjects. Eventually, Kai came upon 2 familiar faces. Male and female. They were both members of Sabertooth, with one of them being their guild master. Celeste and Valor, were their names. "Looks like Fairy Tail isn't the only guild they abducted mages from..." Rex muttered, clammering onto Kai's shoulder, sad over losing friends from a guild they were on good terms with. "Yes, I guess we gotta let them know that they have guild members that were abducted as well. Rest in peace, Celeste and Valor... If only I had arrived sooner," Kai muttered, staying composed through this difficult time. Upon moving on, Kai felt 2 familiar scents. Fearing for what he was about to witness, his hands started to shake and he grit his teeth before running to the other end of the room so fast that Rex fell off his shoulder. He pulled out his wings immedietly and gained air control beforeflying after Kai. "Kai! Where are you running off to?" Rex hurried over to Kai's side, only to bump into his back. Kai's knees felt so weak that he fell down on all 4, revealing to Rex what made him stop mid-track. The bodies of Master Clement and Renae... Rex had to hold back his tears so much that he gritted his teeth. Even then, it was too hard for him to hold it in. Kai, on the other hand, was faring better at it. However, he was mostly blaming himself over their deaths. Still, he began to tear up. If only he had arrived sooner, not only would they be alive, but so would Celeste and Valor as well. They both knew, however, that they could not remain for long. They also couldn't just leave them behind, either. Kai got up on his feet, wiped his tears and walked over to carriages to their left. "Come on, Rex. This is neither the time nor the place to mourn. We have to leave, with their bodies. I refuse to let them rot in this hellhole!" Rex agreed. He smacked both of his cheeks and helped Kai carry their body containers over to the carriage. Unfortunately, the carriage was only big enough for 2 bodies, meaning that Celeste and Valor would have to remain. Rex Went back inside Kai's shirt before they proeeded to leave the room. Not far from the door, in a storage room that was half-open, Kai could smell Rex's belongings. Upon opening the storage room, he could see alot of bags, most likely containing the clothes of all the dead subjects in the same room. Upon grabbing Rex's bag, Kai noticed his own clothes in the bag right next to it. They were probably mean to be disposed of, along with the dead bodies. Kai put them on the carriage before leaving the morgue. Luckily, the incinerator is outside of the facility, probably because they consider dead subjects to be the equivalent of trash. So it won't seem odd if Kai walks outside with 2 corpses. The walk from the morgue to the outside is a smooth one. No guard interrupted Kai, nor did they question his actions. Everyone assumed that he was asssigned to incinerate more bodies. However, for Kai, it was difficult, carrying his dead master and comrade. This was not what he had in mind. Kai was hoping for a daring rescue, a successful, but loud, escape attempt out of the lab. Rex was holding back tears the whole way through, while making sure thathe didn't make any noises that would risk their disguises being found out. Upon exiting the building, Kai is surprised to find out that it's actually night time. The sky is pitch-black, with tiny dots sprinkled everywhere like a glittery veil. Kai took his time and breathed in the long sought out freedom. All of his planning had lead up to this. He was free. Instead of heading for the incinerator, Kai walked over to the trucks. One of them had just been parked, and the driver was just about to exit it, when Kai approached, hoping to borrow the keys for it. "Ho there! I'm heading out to pick up something and I forgot the keys for the truck. Mind if I borrow yours?" Kai's heart was beating a little faster, fearing for the worst. The guard, who had just stepped foot outside of the car, was tired and simply complied, so he could head inside for a nap. "Alright, here you go. Make sure you don't forget them next time," the guard responded, throwing the keys Kai's way. Kai loaded the the bodies into the back of the truck, started the engine and headed out. The escape on the road was smooth, no one stopped Kai, nor did anyone question a truck leaving. Anyone witnessing the truck leaving could be assuming that another subject is being brought. 5 minutes of driving away from the location later, another truck that belongs to the lab passes them by. The driver of that truck waves at Kai, thinking it was a comrade. Kai quickly waved back to not risk blowing his cover. However, at the back of that truck, Kai notices a blindfolded woman. Most likely kidnapped. Something about her is familiar to Kai. Unfortunately, He can't smell her so there's no way of knowing for certain. "I just noticed something... We have no idea where we are right now, do we?" Rex interrupts his thoughts and suspicions with a very valid point, having left Kai's shirt and was now sitting beside him. Rex is so small compared to the window-view that no one outside can see him. In any case, Kai and Rex were both blindfolded and unconcious when they were brought to the lab. Who knows where in the world they could have been taken. Kai almost swerves upon realizing something so crucial. "Oh my god! You're right! Who knows where they took us!" Kai starts to freak out a little, but forces himself to stay composed, since he's behind the wheels. "No worries, we can already rule out a couple of things. First of all, they were speaking english. Fluently, even. Secondly, everything in that lab was written in english. The signs above the doors and their uniforms, among other things. Thus, we can comes to the conclusion that we're still in the US," Kai continues in a much calmer tone than previously. "That's true. But that only makes the way back home that much easier. Not to mention that should we be on the other saide of the country, the way back will still be difficult. Either way, we could always find someone and ask where we are right now." "Good idea. Let's go!" About a half hour driving later, they come across a couple of cyclists who Kai proceeds to ask some information from. From what the couple managed to share, they were currently just outside of Atlanta, Georgia. Kai and Rex were also given directions back to the city. "Seems like we weren't as far away from home as I thought," Kai thought out loud. They were mere minutes away from civilization again. "It's gonna take a while before we arrive at New York again, let's stop by a morgue for safe-keeping in the meanwhile. We should probably come up with a plan for how we should proceed from here on out," he continued. Rex nodded, agreeing to Kai's idea. Not long after, they finally arrived in Atlanta. Kai asked for directions to the closest morgue, which happened to be in a hospital a few blocks away. Upon arriving, Kai parked the truck just outside the hospital, jumped back to change to his usual attire, got off the truck and headed inside. Kai & Rex are now in the Emory University Hospital Midtown◇◈◆◈◇◈◆◈◇ ϟOOC: Holy ******** this post took forever to make...ϟ

| Guild- Dragon's Bane | Rank- A-rank | Magic- Dark Écriture | ☯ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ☯ Ciaran strolled about the upper floors of the laboratory. His feet took him wherever they desired, moving of their own accord, as he pondered over the session he had just come from. Lips curved upward in a devilish smirk, showing his utter pleasure at the progress made. The foundation for the tiger and the fairy were set. They needed only push forward with their resolve, building upon their successes, to achieve their ultimate desires. A task well and truly worthy the time and effort afforded it. Soon, he mused, the world Kimura has sought after will come. Her dream shall be reality. Yes, it was a wondrous thought, sending chills along his spine. However, they could not allow themselves to become greedy and reckless. Oh no, that would not be tolerated at this juncture. Not when they were steps closer yet still so far from completion. Such was the reason for dispatching the medical team to the holding cells. Their test subjects must remain alive and in fair condition if they wished to perform the experiments held in mind. Of course, it had taken some coercion, as was to be expected. News of the earlier incident had spread throughout the laboratory. Many of the medical team shouted their concerns and protests at being sent to deal with a man such as Blood Raine. Yet Ciaran saw to it they came to understand his point of view. It required a small portion of his magic to do so, but the results could not be denied. They agreed to treat the wounds of the two prisoners. He also made certain they were not so foolish as the previous medic. Explicit instructions were given that no man or woman bearing so much as a pinprick was to venture below to the holding cells.
After confirmation his instructions would be carried out to the letter, Ciaran continued on his merry way, meandering as he pleased. Little time passed before he found himself at the doorway of the laboratory once more. Glimpsing the sign overhead, his smirk broadened further. He pushed open the door blocking his path and stepped inside, announcing his arrival to the occupant he believed to be inside, “Doctor Shaw? I hope you don’t mind the intrusion, but I felt it best to come here straightaway. Our session with the subjects is over for the moment and I was hoping we could discuss some of the experiments currently planned.” There were other topics he hoped to discuss with the woman as well. Kaya’s prior captivity, her surveillance of the remaining Sabertooth and Fairy Tail mages, Raine’s files obtained from the Russians were but a few of the subjects he wanted to touch upon during this brief resting period. ☯ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ☯

Shaw flicked through her video files, watching footage of Kaya's signature attacks used during the fight against the Dragon's Bane guild members. Hearing a familiar voice, she swivelled in her chair, "Ciaran, done so soon? How did it go?" she asked, curious to know what else they'd tried on their 'guests'. Moving aside, she pointed at the screen, "I know you make fun of the fairies but the water dragon's natural family bonding abilities lasted all that time. Look at how she fights with her guild mates; as fiercely as a real dragon. Some cases of attempted stasis when people have tried to say youthful have resulted in a loss of social behaviours," she said, replaying one of her stronger attacks. "And there," she continued, pointing to the screen as Alyssa appeared in the frame with her clear sword which changed colour as the requip mage dipped the tip into Kaya's stream of magic, "Is why you shouldn't underestimate the others that haven't been brought in." The doctor sighed, "Sorry, I've been watching these videos for far too long. I have to admit, I am starting to wish that I'd delved into the world of magic sooner, even just for research but that's just the way things go," she shrugged, "Anyway, I assume you're here to ask questions about what we'll be doing with our guests." Reaching into the drawer on her desk, she retrieved two files and handed them to him, "If you're looking to find out more about Kaya's past and about her dragons, I've attained some truth serum. If your idea is to break her mind, I have plenty of the drugs I gave to you earlier," she smiles, leaning back in her chair and stretching her back, "As for Mr Valentine, I don't know exactly what you want to do with him. Do you wish to turn him into a blank slate and try to weaponise him again? You'll have to torture the ever-living s**t out of him. That'll take a while. At some point I would imagine you'd have to involve the girl; Octavia. Your fifth cousin, was it? Very interesting. Who'd have thunk it? Doesn't it make you feel different? Family is family after all," she queried, curious at to whether Ciaran's relation to the celestial wizard would change his plans. Shaw spun in the chair, "Moving back to those files, it also has the information on her family ties but in all honesty, none of them know she's alive and I doubt any of them know the truth about what happened to her so I don't see a point in disturbing the peace on that front, especially when they're in a different country. That's delving into a whole new territory," she warned the dark ecriture mage, not wanting him to be too hasty in his quest for information on the dragon.

| Guild- Dragon's Bane | Rank- A-rank | Magic- Dark Écriture | ☯ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ☯ His lips cracked open in a large toothy grin. “It was glorious,” he exclaimed, clearly pleased by the events below. “I’m saddened you had to miss the remainder of the session. After your departure, I had more conversation with Blood Raine. His darker persona issued me a challenge, can you believe that? I dare say, I couldn’t suppress the thrill of hearing it issued. Then there was the fairy. Or,” he tapped his chin theatrically, “Should I say the dragon, as it were now? I removed the skewers from her to allow the medical personnel better access to her wounds, but not before I solidified our ownership over her. She will forever know whose property she is by the mark I left. And, of course, Master Kimura punished her for the slight against you earlier. But I don’t need to spoil all the fun. We left the computer recording so you can view the entirety of the session at your leisure.” The Dark Écriture mage strode forward and lowered himself into a vacant chair. “It’s amazing how much torment their bodies can take. I’m partially inclined to test their limits; although, that may be something to pursue once the priority experiments have been completed. Which is what has brought me here. They were reaching the extent of what their bodies could withstand. My magic was also beginning to run low. Thus, we agreed to a small respite.” It would do not good to see the light mages reach their ends so swiftly. They still held far too much value in the laboratories research.
Leaning forward in his seat, he viewed the footage intently, examining every aspect of the battle at hand. Some of which he had been present for. “Yes, they fight as a unit. Family members protecting their own,” he remembered the teamwork of the fairies vividly. Where one had weakness, the others would make up for it and vice versa. “It doesn’t surprise me that she maintained such behaviors. Dragons were long since known for being protective of their kind. Even now, she perceives Raine as an extension of her makeshift family. I could tell by their interaction, despite their yelling match earlier. If I am to be honest, it has sparked a drive in me to retrieve her little feline friend. To what depths can she hold that familial bond I wonder?” An intriguing prospect, to say the least. In what manner and fashion did the Dragon Slayers view their Exceed partners? Clearly more than a mode of transportation, they were often seen as the closest bond made by these mages outside of their dragons. Ciaran intended to have this tested with the Lightning Dragon Slayer and his Exceed partner, but their unfortunate escape from their room prevented such studies. Should he be able to take Kaya’s Exceed when the others were distracted then those plans could once more be seen to fruition. But, as Shaw was quick to remind, he must not overlook the ferocity of the other fairies. They would be on high guard after the abduction of Kaya and after hearing of the attacks. Their ire might be troublesome, he had to admit. “The tigers and fairies are certainly nothing to sneeze at. I will agree to that much. If we are to do anything more regarding their members, then we will have to be careful. They aren’t likely to be forgiving.” Not that he was concerned. Dragon’s Bane was crafted of strong mages. Mages picked for their ferocity and strength, their power and mercilessness. Any whom did not live up to these expectations were dealt with in a timely manner. What had he to be worried over?
“You have nothing to apologize for, my dear doctor,” Ciaran’s pale-yellow orbs flicked from the monitor to her. His lips curved upward in a smile. “Their strength and bonds are undeniable. We would do well to remember it. But we are more formidable. And you needn’t despair on your late start in the realm of magic. With our guests now in hand, our experiments are guaranteed success. You’ll be able to experience that triumph soon enough and reap the fruit of your labor. Of this I have no doubts.” Taking the proffered files, Ciaran flipped through the pages, perusing them as the woman offered up her thoughts. “There are quite a few avenues we can take with Kaya,” the white-haired male mused. “I would like to find out more of her time in the first laboratory. See if there is any further information she can give us that our own files are lacking. Her dragons and those years she and her father were hidden are also intriguing to me. However, there are a few of the experiments Kimura’s father performed that have gained my attention first. The bacteria-based serum being one of them. I think it might be useful should we manage to cultivate it. Running tests on her body could be beneficial as well. Stasis tends to degenerate the body and mind to an extent, yet she seems entirely fit and aware. Once we’ve gleaned every viable piece of knowledge from her…that’s when I intend to see to that challenge. I’ll break her mind. Get her to turn away from the light and join us in the darkness. A fitting homage to my Acushla’s late father. Don’t you agree?” Ciaran settled back against his seat. His imposing outfit making it difficult to sit properly, though he did not pay heed to it. “My goal with the Blood mage is far more direct. As you said, I want to see him turned into a weapon for Dragon’s Bane. I believe we can do it. It’ll be difficult, yes, but possible. There is only so much his darker persona is able to protect his mind from. If we can get past that layer of defense, then we can break him and mold him to what we desire. That’s where the girl shall come into play.” He gave a dismissive, flippant wave of his hand. “She is but a tool to me to get to Raine. The only benefit from the knowledge of our relation is that I won’t kill her as quickly as I initially planned. I’ll draw it out. Give them the impression she will survive our time together.” Flipping the files closed, Ciaran placed them on the desk at his side before stretching his arms above his head. There would be no hope for the girl once his trap was set.
Ciaran interlocked his fingers behind his head, listening raptly to Shaw’s advice. There was wisdom in her words. “Do not worry, Shaw,” he nodded, “I don’t intend to bring her family into this. Not straight away. However, should it prove necessary in the process of breaking her mind then I will have no choice but to enter that territory. Although, admittedly, seeing their faces upon learning of her is rather enticing. Imagine, my dear doctor, how they would feel merely knowing. The questions, the uncertainties, the possible denial… I wonder if her brother even spoke of her to his family? It is its own brand of research. It wouldn’t even require the entire family to do so. We could pick a singular specimen from them and bring them here. I’m certain you have some excellent candidates in mind for that…am I correct?” His eyes gleamed wistful with opportunity. “Simply imagine it…” Ciaran breathed out. It would be easy. Their minds together were the brightest in the laboratory. He and Shaw could work together to formulate the perfect regimen for their guests. Together, they would create an appropriate timeline for all experiments and torture sessions so as to achieve their desired goals without wasting a single valuable moment. ☯ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ☯
