Kai slept soundly his heart barely beating as his breathing stopped altogether. Once or twice he changed forms in his sleep which was unusual but it did happen. He dreamed of biting Derrick, which he blushed at. He didn't know why, but he was drawn to the man and having the others blood coursing through him seemed to make that attraction stronger. He knew in a week he would have to return home. He also figured that since Derrick had a son the man wasn't interested in guys at all or ones that were close to his son's age.

Kai slept soundly for a few hours and woke with a start when he realized he wasn't in his own room the events of the day came back to him however and he calmed down. He remembered that Derrick said he would generally be in the office, so slipping out of the bed he moved to where he was told the man's office was located. He knocked gently hoping that he wasn't disturbing the man's work.

Kai walked into the office and couldn't help but chuckle slightly. Without thinking about it he walked up to Derrick and gently removed the sticky note from the man's cheek. "Maybe your the one that needs to get some sleep not me." he said with a smile. "Thank you by the way. I really needed a rest after today."

Kai noticed the blush but didn't say anything about it. The guy was probably embarrassed to have been caught sleeping at his desk. "I slept really well thank you. I thought I would check in. Since I woke up and when I didn't hear anything but saw the light on here, I came to see if you might need something? You look like your working really hard, and maybe I could do something that would speed things up a bit so you could get the sleep you need."

"Wow, that doesn't sound easy at all. How do you manage to do all that by yourself?" He asked rather curious how the business end of things worked out in the real world. Kai knew he wasn't ever going to be able to work, and since he probably wouldn't age like normal people did, he couldn't exactly work with anyone that wasn't either a vampire themselves or knew that he was one and didn't care. Of course he knew his father wouldn't allow him to work anyways.

Kai smiled as Derrick agreed to rest, and blushed when the man said he was like his wife. "Im sorry. I don't mean to be like your wife... Uh, but you know someone does have to see to it you get enough rest since you seem so busy doing other things."

That was the nice thing about being human, or at least a thinking person, they all could change if they needed to do so. Even his own father adapted to the times. Sure Vlad would complain about how things when he was human was easier, well some of it was anyways, he still liked a lot of the modern comforts. So, he could see why adaptation was a good thing to have. Derrick continued to talk and Kai blushed when he heard the man say he liked the memory.

"Alright, I can eat, as long as you leave your office to take that nap. Ill sit next to the bed if I have to in order for you to sleep enough that you don't look so tired." Kai would do it too, he had a stubborn streak like his father at times.

Kai nodded and smiled. "Yes I am. I take after my father in that regard it seems. That's not a bad thing I don't think." He said before he watched Derrick head to his room. "I'll be sure to wake you then. He won't wonder why someone else is answering will he?" Kai didn't want to alarm the ofher's son, but maybe if someone else had answered before it would be different.

Kai made it to the kitchen and the Mac and cheese. He didn't take a lot since he had fed earlier, but the baked dish was really good. He would have to ask for the recipe sometime so he could make it at home.
