Okay, I know some people have already mentioned some of these, but I'll reinforce that: -the So You Want To Be a Wizard books, -A Great and Terrible Beauty -The Naming trilogy -the Mediator books by Meg Cabot -ANY book by Lloyd Alexander (the last one in the Taran series made me cry) -the Chronicles of Narnia -books by Brian Jacques (they're not exactly fantasy, but they are about animals, and there are parts about a dead warrior in people's dreams) -ROBIN HOOD!!!! (This isn't really fantasy at all. I just love it. Has anyone seen the movie with Errol Flynn? I don't know how to spell his first name, but it's a good movie, and Errol Flynn is very good-looking.)

I really recommend books by Diana Wynne Jones. Her books are spellbinding and has a lot of twist. You won't be able to wrench your attention away from reading.
Books by her I really recommend are: Dark Lord of Derkholm Year of the Griffin Dogsbody the Chrestomanci volumes Howl's Mving Castle Castle in the Air
And a lot more... Happy reading. heart

The Ender Series by Orson Scott Card its a futuristic thing, as this little boy rising among the ranks of the Battle School. not really a female-hero thing, but i still liked it.
