╔══════════════╗ Vincent Milano Ⅱ ιʟ ᴅucᴀ ᴅι ᴛᴏscᴀɴᴀ ╚══════════════╝ Vincent nodded as Kenton made his leave, his mind still reeling from what he had heard. Why on God's green earth had there been a battle here? Why had the royals been attacked? Whatever the story, it confused him greatly. It made no sense for a school to be targeted for such atrocities.. Who had done it? His expression one of a troubled mind, he stood with his eyes lowered in thought, wondering if Jasper had known about this - and if so, why he would send him here, after what had happened to his parents. Wouldn't it be too much of a risk, putting the last heir to the Milano estate in jeopardy? He sighed, suddenly realizing that he was neglecting the lady in front of him, who had previously only been interested in Kenton and his war stories, or so it seemed. Looking up, he nodded to her quietly, his expression curious. She had recalled being here during the time of the attack. Perhaps she knew more... "Tell me," he said quietly, taking a step closer. ".. What really happened here.. And why.."

✯✯✯Prince Novae of Washington✯✯✯ Novae bowed her head toward Kenton as he left. Her attention turned back to Vincent who had been silent until now. When he asked his rather abrupt question. She took a deep breath and sighed, " It happened without warning. All I can remember was dancing one minute with this... rather rude boy as I recall, walking over to a friend of mine, and then the glass from the windows shattering, the painfully loud pop and roar. There was fire and lots of it. These things came out of nowhere and started cutting down my friends and my professors. I fought back, but when I wasn't looking, one of them speared me to the wall in the heart like a wild boar. I could only watch and do nothing. The next thing I remember was waking up back home two weeks later." Novae began to shake from anxiety and high stress. She looked around to make sure no one of importance was around, took out a pack of cigarettes and lit one, " As to why they attacked us, I can't be sure... If it was meant to be an assassination, then they're wouldn't have been as much blood shed. When I first came here though, I could feel great evil in this place. Alas, I haven't the slightest idea why they attacked," she said as she took a drag of her cigarette, " Do pardon my habit, it calms me down." She looked at Vincent, " Duke, those who speak of what they know find too late that prudent silence is wise. If you truly wish to get some information on the attack, go into the library. If I recall, one of the teachers keeps records of the school. Most people here are tight lipped and have good reason to be. You could also talk to Sherlock. He's been at the school longer than I have and he may know something."

Moving back as Gearvin started to speak, October listened as he went on briefly about his race, though it only served to make her more interested. Creatures and things of myth were considered children's fairy tales where she grew up. Most people she knew didn't believe in them, and thus, didn't see them. But since childhood, she had believed in them, and the result left her curious and thirsting to know more.
Though before she had time to ask more questions, he had already changed the topic. Alive? Her home land? If only.
"Honestly, I wish it was. It's a beautiful place that not many people visit. Sadly, though it's not my homeland. I was born in the United States," she said. "Alive I guess is what you could call 'Dreamland'. A place you can only visit in your sleep. But don't get the wrong idea, it's a real place. The people who live there like to call this place Awake, because when they come here it's just like they are waking up," pausing, she made sure she hadn't lost either of the boys before going on. "It's basically another dimension or world here on Earth. So all seasons are exactly as Earth would have them, though the geography isn't the same," she said with a laugh. She loved the landscapes of Alive much more than the Earth ones, that was for sure.
"Sometimes it can get as cold as the Artics, if not colder. It just depends on the area, really. The castle I stay at is a ways away from the mountains, so we don't get as bad a winter as up there. Our summers are mild and our springs our cool. It's generally a nice place, but if you like cold Gearvin, our mountains are definitely your cup of tea." Smiling at the thought of the beautiful kingdom she had the privilage of ruling, she looked at her new phone out of habit. Wow... We talked a while, she thought upon seeing the time.
"I'm real sorry we talked so long. Maybe, if there aren't classes tomorrow, you could give me a tour?" she said with a soft smile and a hopeful expression. "I'd ask if you'd take me to dinner, but I'm kind of tired. It was nice talking to you Gearvin and Cosmo. Hopefully we get to talk more," turning to leave, she pulled out her map and located the dorms. "Goodnight boys!" She waved back at them before walking off towards the building.

╔══════════════╗ Vincent Milano Ⅱ ιʟ ᴅucᴀ ᴅι ᴛᴏscᴀɴᴀ ╚══════════════╝ Stepping out of the crowded dining hall, Vincent felt better as soon as he was able to breathe the fresh, crisp evening out on the grounds. The moon shone nearly full, only a small sliver missing from it's pale form. The clouds passed by harmlessly with no threat of rain, shadowing the moon's glow briefly at times before continuing on their way, directed by the easterly wind. Turning his head, he looked to his walking companion and smiled, his sapphire eyes shining as gems in the pale light of the moon and his skin a soft white like the marble statue of David. He had been told before that his features were almost inhuman, though the basis for this judgment is unknown. Whatever the cause, he seemed to carry with him an enchanting quality that caused nearly everyone he met to pay attention to him. Ironic, that this was so while he rarely paid attention to anyone else - except this girl who kept his company tonight. "A beautiful night," he said quietly, by way of small talk. But it wasn't the night he was truly meaning. Levy, too, was looking exquisite in the light of the moon, causing the boy's eyes to rivet to her ceaselessly, whether he realized it or not.

I can only take the noise for so long with my sensitive ears... She thought to herself, looking up at the night sky with its starry eyes gleaming back down on the princess and her walking companion. This was her favorite time of night; all she needed now was a soft place to sit, a candle, and a good book to read. Her fingers were itching to get back to her books in her dorm room, but having Vincent by her side was just as nice. Her scarlet eyes roamed the ground, sparkling as much as the stars above them. Her blonde locks swayed in the subtle breeze as she walked, finally coming to a standstill at the edge of the pond, its pitch black surface shining with the reflection of the moon. Levy looked over at Vincent, catching his gaze on her body and she looked away and out over the seemingly endless lake. "Beautiful indeed," She agreed, wondering why it was the young duke was looking at her so. No thoughts of romanticism had crossed her mind since she first saw the boy, but perhaps they had not left his? He's too young... Maybe coming out here was a bad idea? The princess turned her attention back to Vincent - he was still staring, his sapphire eyes riveted on her. She coughed slightly, to alert him, feeling slightly embarrassed. It was at times like this that her brain seemed to lose control over her mouth, and soon her lips began to move without her even noticing as she spoke. "Did ya know that the moon's heavily cratered surface is the result of intense pummeling by space rocks between 4.1 billion and 3.8 billion years ago?" When it doubt, break out the facts...

 ☆═━Maeza Lee━═☆ ❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖
Maeza led Kenton from the infirmary to the outside, pausing to adjust her veil before stepping into the sunlight. "The lake on campus is new. It was made after the attack last year. Freshwater, so you should probably avoid it, right?" she said, hoping she remembered correctly. She could see the very top of the clock tower over the trees. "There's a clearing in the forest where the students held a secret Halloween party. Hopefully, if everyone's up to it, we'll have another," she said quietly. She gave Kenton a look and added, "I trust you not to say anything."

The soldier above all others prays for peace... Kenton followed Maeza around the grounds, arms neatly folded behind his back, listening to her speak about the lake and the forest. The grounds were well-kept and trim, at first glance he would never have guessed that it was the site of battle. In the smaller details, he could see it, though: a dent in the wall, a misshapen crack in the bell tower than had not been properly filled. He frowned at the mention of a party on Hallow's Eve. "I intend never to break your trust," he said impartially, meeting her eyes. Far be it from him to attend such an affair, but to each their own, he supposed. If it was secret, he probably wouldn't hear about it anyway. "May you tell me more about what to expect once the year starts?" he asked. "I have never been formally schooled, I have no idea what to expect."...for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war.

Crystael ☆═━Maeza Lee━═☆ ❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖
Maeza ducked her head to hide her small smile. She looked up again when it was gone. "Well, I can promise that there's probably going to be some drama that, whether you like it or not, you're going to get sucked into. The meals get progressively blander as the year goes by. And you may get tired of your roommate. As for classes, Literature is pretty laid back. Sir Robert's etiquette class is rather fast-paced...I don't know about Law. I haven't taken it, but Herr Dubhan is the teacher, so I can promise it will be a good class," she said. By this time, they had reached the clock tower. Maeza walked ahead and pulled the door open. "After you," she said.

The soldier above all others prays for peace... Kenton pulled a face as Maeza moved ahead of him towards the bell tower. "Somehow I doubt my roommate will ever get tired," Kenton said darkly. He wasn't such a fan of drama either, but that was easily ignored. Bland meals... that he could handle. Surviving on dried fish and hardtack for several years had served some purpose, it seemed. "I look forward to learning what I can from them," he said. "Hopefully my independent education will be enough of a foundation for me to learn from."He reached over Maeza's shoulder, taking the weight of the door and holding it for her. "As it goes, 'age before beauty,' and you are both to me," he said simply. "What is up here?"Kenton peered up at the top of the tower. A long, winding staircase led to the top. Aside from some gears and a bell, what could be up here that was so interesting? ...for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war.

Maeza blinked as Kenton held the door over her. Though she wanted to argue and insist he go first, she figured that would do nothing. Besides, she didn't want him to hurt his shoulder anymore. So, with a sigh, Maeza went on ahead. She grinned at his question and gestured for him to follow. "The most breathtaking view of this campus you're ever going to see. It's a bit magical," she said. Her personal opinion was that it looked best at sunset in the winter. Then the snow reflected the gold color and time seemed to stand still.

The soldier above all others prays for peace... Kenton followed her up, closing the door behind them. "Only a bit?" he quipped. The stairs were many, but rather small in size. Kenton took them two at a time in pursuit of the princess. Finally, they reached the top. looked out on every side, showing off the big brass bell housed in the tower. The ticking of the clock was louder up here, but Maeza was right: the view was spectacular. The sun was just beginning to hit the horizon, casting reds and golds on the clouds that remained in the sky. There were a few students roaming the grounds, taking advantage of the free time remaining until the banquet began. Kenton put a hand on the wall of the window. It would have reminded him of an arrowslit, if it hadn't been so wide. He crouched down, and dropped his feet over the edge, sitting on the edge of the bell tower. "I concede," he said appreciatively. "It is just the tiniest bit magical up here."...for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war.

Maeza hurried up the steps, feet barely touching one before leaving for the next. When they finally reached the top, she ran to a window and leaned out, a large smile on her face. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath as a breeze blew. When she opened her eyes again, she just took in the view, the vibrant colors that lit up everything and the student who looked as small as ants. At Kenton's statement, Maeza chuckled. "That's not even the best part," she said. "Watch this." Without any other warning, she let go and let herself fall. She streamlined her body and laughed at the fast approaching ground. With just the bare minimum amount of time, she snapped her wings out and swooped just a few inches above the ground and flew back up. Her wings stung, but it was well worth it as she landed at the top of the tower when she'd dove.

The soldier above all others prays for peace... Kenton looked around as Maeza fell out of the window. "MADAM PRINCESS!" Kenton leaned out of his window, watching her as she laughed. She knew what she was doing. He sighed. I should have expected this... I appear to have made a dangerous friend.Letting go of the window and squaring himself up, Kenton stepped out and pushed off against the wall of the tower in one fluid motion. The rush of wind past his face reminded him of the breezes of the Pacific, riding them across the world back to his home in the Atlantic after years of being away. His wings slowed his descent to the ground, allowing him to land on his feet. Maeza passed him on her way back up. As he landed, Kenton sighed even heavier. "I concede you are the better flier," he called up, wondering if she could even hear him. "Alas, I cannot follow you." His wings could not fly, only hover. There was no way he'd get to the very top of the tower without the use of a bungee cord. ...for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war.

Maeza had to strain her ears to hear Kenton's words. She chuckled stepped off the tower again, simply flying down this time instead of diving. When she landed and tucked her wings away, she grimaced at the sting. "That is undoubtedly the best stress reliever I know," she commented cheerfully. Her hair was askew and the veil was a bit out of place, but her smile was large and her eyes were filled with laughter. She quickly fixed her veil, though it wasn't terribly messed up, and sighed. "If you're one for stargazing, I can promise that the tower has a great view."
