Kiyoshi mentally kicked himself. He shoudln't have done that. Jason thought he was a girl. That meant that he was straight, and not interested in crossdressers. What was he going to do? He could blow Jason off next time they met, but it wasn't in his character. He could tell Jason the truth, but by the worst luck, Kiyoshi was starting to like the American. He didn't want to break his heart, but he couldn't string Jason like this, either. This was a huge problem.

Kiyoshi just arrived at the theater. Yesterday was the last performance of the current play, so the troupe was making plans for their next production. Some were taking down the set, while others were passing out the new scripts. He picked up a script and sat down in a seat to read it over.

By then, everyone was divided into groups to perform tasks. It was Kiyoshi's job to pick up fabrics for some of the costumes, along with his own kimono. He was going along with one of the costume designers, a sweet girl named Yamiko. The two were heading out when Kiyoshi spotted Jason and pulled Yamiko aside.

"Kiyo-chan." Yamiko squeaked, "What are you doing?"

Kiyoshi clapped his hand over Yamiko's mouth. "It's him. The one I told you about."

Yamiko peeked round the corner to look at Jason, then pulled her head back. "He is quite cute, Kiyo-chan."

"Yeah, but that's not the point. What am I going to do, Yamiko?"

Yamiko smiled sweetly as she took Kiyoshi's hand. "You cannot avoid him forever, Kiyo-chan. I think he's really into you." She then pulled Kiyoshi out into the hallway. "Good afternoon, sir." she greeted him cheerily, "I'm sorry, but there is no production today. You're not allowed to stay here."

"Kiyoshi." Yamiko blinked thoughtfully, putting a finger to her lips before smiling. "Oh, she's here in the dressing room. Ren..." she said, patting Kiyoshi on the shoulder, "Be a dear and find Kiyoshi. Tell her there's a visitor here waiting for her in the front."

Kiyoshi shoot a look at Yamiko, but jogged off to the back. He was thankful that he always kept an extra set of clothing in his locker.

Yamiko turned her attention back to Jason. "If you please, Sir, would you follow me to the front of the theater? You can wait for Kiyoshi by the ticket booth. She should be here shortly."

"I'm Yamiko." she replied, walking by Jason's side. She smiled softly. "Kiyo-chan told me about you. So, what do you think of my dear Kiyo-chan? Do you like her?"

"I'm so glad to hear that." Yamiko nodded, then moved a little bit closer to Jason, as if she were telling him a secret. "Just between the two of us, Kiyo-chan likes you, too. She's a little nervous, though, about first impressions and all, but I'm sure that will help her relax some."

Yamiko could not contain a squeal of pure delight. "How wonderful, Jason-san! It's like a fairy tale." She took Jason's hand and led him over to a bench to sit down. "You sound like a true romantic, Jason-san. Kiyo-chan will love that, I know. I hope things work out between you two. You'll make such a cute couple."

"Anything else?" Yamiko said thoughtfully, tapping her chin with her index finger. She glanced at Jason, looking him up and down. "Well...let's see...Kiyo-chan likes kind and sensitive type guys. She likes people who are smart and open-minded. Not anyone who is loud, very boastful, or a confrontational jerk." A grin spread on Yamiko's face, "A nice, fit body is a bonus, too. I think you may have that covered. I hope that you don't smoke."

"Paints?" Yamiko blinked. "You're a painter, then? An artist?" She then gave him a skeptical look, "Or do you just huff paint?"
