Yep it happens, and it still rustles my jimmies when they can't think of anything. Especially if it leads to said person dropping.

Man, that sucks. I can honestly say I've never had someone do that to me.
What happened in the case you're talking about?

Oh eh...let's see it's a bit long so while try to summarize. I had two characters and she had one character. Mind you, my first character was about fifty feet tall or just as big as a skyscraper...silently watching the battle that was unfolding. He would've stayed out of it since the girl's character was quite the arrogant p***k. Anyway I digress. Her character caused my second character to break into two since I was trying to go for a sort of Legion demon/devil. So both start charging her character, and the only thing she could think of was to try and flee by having a second fly over head and have the first one latch on.
This caused my first character, the colossus, to intervene since the girl's second character had no part in that fight. So it came down to a kind of three way attack on my part. The one sub part of the split demon kicked off the side of a mountain and was lounging toward them, the other part was charging at her first character with a lance and my colossus' hand overhead trying to grab her second character.
Apparently she couldn't think of anything or any way to get out of the situation, cause I think she had something against her characters getting hurt. I could've easily said the sub split demon part that was doing a drop kick might've hit the colossus' hand but she just...kind of stopped so the fight came to a halt.

That's a good summary.
A lot of people on Gaia do hate their characters getting hurt. I don't like having no control over my character but I don't care about them getting hurt.
Did she know a fight would break out? If she went in willingly, she shouldn't have left. If she didn't know... well, there must have been a miscommunication.
If she'd stayed, that would have been an awesome fight.

Yeah they were in a fight before she split my legion demon into two beings. Eh Idk if it would've been awesome. I was very new to rping and well, she seemed quite taken with her characters. It might've been awesome but it couldn't exactly get that far.

Perhaps it was evident her character was too greatly outmatched. Maybe she thought it would have been a slaughter, not a fight.

Perhaps...but she had ways to defend herself, and it was her character's mistake for splitting the legion demon. I probably might've over done it with the colossus trying to grab her second character but she wasn't known for taking a hit like Elina did with Tik.

Did the player know your character could split?

I sort of hinted, or possibly outright stated can't remember, that there were two beings in one body. Her character does some...ridiculous spell to try and pull both beings apart, but goes awry when another demon forms from the main one.
Now that I think about it, her originally intention might've been to split the angel and demons' mind apart but there were too many within the demon. So a physical interpretation happened.

I see. That changes things completely.
If she cast one spell, no doubt she would be able to create others. That evens the playing field and puts the fault of the split in her court.

Yep though it's not to say that the split wasn't painful, it just didn't work out in her favor. Then again her character was more like a skirmisher...but that still doesn't excuse her lack of thought.

True. The other player could have been more inventive.

I also hate OOC fighting -.- I had these two boys come to ME to resolve THEIR fight... I knew neither of them. It was a childish fight over: "This guy god-modded me didn't he?! DO SOMETHING!"... The guy that was god-modding was the owner of the rp. =/ But he was definitely a god-moder >.<
