I suggest we hold a pool on whether or not I get banned from the OBOD forums for this post. Buy in, say 100 gold, and a yes or no. divy up the winnings between the people who vote correctly.

I'm going to be even more absent than usual here until early August. I'm going to be (shameless plugging) working hard at the world's only film festival that's about making the films. I'm so excited.

Small epiphany: we all get along because we all challenged each other as sages and rose to the challenge. Wow, that reforms a lot of my reactions to people claiming to be different things and why a serious response earns respect even if I don't necessarily agree with the content. Also, I'm going to go with a hopeful "no".

We had to go to the doctors so the injury was on record (it was the other guys fault since we were actually parked) and It's mild whiplash. Nothing serious, but the van is a write off.

I can't believe SNE's petition hasn't been removed yet. I'm mildly put-off at this neutral . It is quite amusing that while she's petitioning it because not all blonds are dumb (which I agree with) she continually makes herself an example of the opposite rolleyes

Just got back from visiting my sister. We went to a large, cheap used book store, and I spent three hours reading and choosing books to buy.
My mom's doing a bit better right now -- not physically but mentally. She'd had ammonia build up in her body and so she was exhausted and confused and had major memory problems. They gave her a medication to remove the ammonia and other toxins from her system and she's doing so much better now. She also FINALLY got a prescription for a wheelchair, which she'll get next week. She got to come out to the barn and visit our horse, all the other horses, and her friends and co-workers on Saturday for the first time since March.
Insanely busy with wedding stuff.

So my family was watching TV last night, and over the course of an hour, we heard G~ twice. I turned to my girlfriend and mentioned something about how you can say that on TV, but N~ is still blocked on many occasions (I think I've heard it once or twice). My mom was confused so I told her that G~ was a racial slur, the proper term is Rroma, and so on.
According to my mom, its not a slur, and because I'm of Hungarian descent (partly, on my mother's mother's side I think), its ok for me to say it rolleyes

It's allowed on TV because the majority of people that use it honestly have no idea it is a slur at all.
I never used to know.

Honestly it's only a slur because people allow it to be a slur. Same goes for ******...k**e...or any other such term.
