Aside from the fact that it's their attempt at an "expansion", no. I'm afraid not.

Dynasty Warriors: Gundam is possibly the only recent title that's anywhere near good. Though the common AI is still s**t, the "generals" will beat ur a** hardcore. And yes, SW basically equals DW.

Dynasty Warriors and related games do NOT suck.

I think I'll go play Samurai Warriors 2 right now.

That they most surely do not. However, Koei put out about 10 of the same game at this point. It'd really be nice if they could change it -just a little- to make it... y'know... different.

Don't unless you want another remix of the same stuff from DW and SW and so on. I liked the demo because it was just different enough to keep me interested. Rented it, played through a couple storylines, and wasn't really satisfied.

And they can fly and stuff, and shoot pewpew lazorz, and they have different archetypes that their charge combos are based off of (close range, long range), and you can combo musou with NPCs.

However, you could just stand there and do nothing for 40 minutes like I did one time and Master Asia would win the map for you.

But yeah, the bosses will kick your a** real hard a lot of the time.

It was cool for a few hours. Got boring fast. Guess I was just DW'd out after maxing out 3, 3.5, 4, and 4.5.

Empires is about conquering (country)

At least in SW2 Empires it is.

the actual title is about the story behind everything.. individual character stories and plot development etc.

Well in DW6 they updated the graphics heavily.

And you can climb ladders. They were pushing it with climbing ladders.

I don't want my DW/SW gameplay to change AT ALL.

I am perfectly content running on to a battlefield and doing practically the same mass kill combo countless times and still being "YAHAAARG!" like Steve The Pirate once I finish.

The only reason I would buy DW: Gundam would be if you can play as Dyuo Maxwell and the Deathscythe... otherwise, no. And I'd also have to give in to hypocrisy and buy a PS3, which will NEVER happen... EVER...

Character storylines are from the original Gundam series.

'Original Story Mode' storylines are pretty much entirely faction-based with slight alterations, and include characters from G Gundam and Gundam Wing. But only Zechs and Heero. NONE FOR JUU.
