Jayden looked torn on what to do. "But, look at her. She needs help." he said his voice getting thick like he was about to cry. "We can't leave her like that."

 Mizuki nodded. She said in a serious tone, "I wasn't planning on it." She thought for a moment, then said, "Considering your reaction to what's going on, I'm assuming that this problem hasn't happened for as long as you've known her?"

Jayden sniffled and shook his head. "No, it started after my sister, Aaleah, ran off 'cause Lorelei liked Maia better." he said looking at the ground. She didn't care bout anything or anyone but Maia." He explained rubbing his nose.

Mizuki loosened her grip on Jayden's arm. She pressed the same button again and retracted the vines. She pressed another button, the first one she pressed, and retracted the claws as well. She got up, thinking that it's unlikely for Raiko to be able to get out of the net. She went over to Jayden and put her right hand on his shoulder, making sure no buttons were accidentally pressed. She asked simply, "Do you know what a magical promise is?"

Jayden looked confused "A pinkie promise? That's what Lorelei did with us." he said scratching his head.

Mizuki shook her head. She said, "It's like a pinkie promise, but you put your magical energies into it."

"Magical energy...how do you use that?" Jayden asked trying to remember if he ever saw Lorelei use any powers that looked even the tiniest bit magical to him. "I've never seen Lorelei do ant magic."

Mizuki sighed. She explained, "Whenever you use a power, you're using magical energy that is specifically for that power, and only that power. When you're making a magical promise, you simply use all of your powers at once. It doesn't do anything, but if you say the right chant and do the right things, you'll be able to see the magical energies in your pinkie, and then you'll be able to see the two people's magical energies combining. When the chant is finished the combined magical energies goes into each of the people that were involved in the process. As far as visualization goes, you see the magical energies explode."

Jayden nodded slowly, somewhat understanding what Mizuki was explaining. "Why? Will that help Lorelei if I do that with her?" he asked, even though he didn't know how to use his powers like that.

Mizuki laughed slightly. She explained more, "When a magical promise is made, it ties itself into the fabric of the universe. If it's broken, there'll be monumental consequences. It is also unaffected by any magic that might be made to cancel it out, or change it. If the magical promise involves some sort of feelings, the feelings would be unable to be affected by any emotional manipulation. This is why she only cared about Maia. They once told me that they made a magical promise to be sisters forever. It's quite obvious that this was made on the basis of a deep feeling, and from the looks of everything that's happened, including things that you don't know about, the feeling was existing before the promise was even made."

Jayden stared at Mizuki like she was speaking a different language. Tilting his head he slowly asked "So...she made a promise that made her sick?"

Mizuki chuckled. She shook her head and said, "No, the promise made it so her feelings for Maia were unaffected by her manipulation power."

Mizuki shrugged, "I wouldn't know, I'm not them. However, I believe this is because of her power. I don't know much about her power, but from what they've told me about it, her emotions are being suppressed. She's done it to this point before. Though, I'm not quite sure I even understood what was going on when they explained it to me, considering I don't have the power. I'm not sure how in the world Maia understood it."

Jayden frowned a bit disgruntled "Then, we need to find Maia so she can fix Lorelei....right?" Thinking of all the places she could be, made Jayden's hope fall "She can be anywhere."
