Lilyann cradled Marcus's head in her lap, using her powers to heal his back quickly. He was coming to, but in pain. Silent tears went down Lilyann's cheeks. She hated seeing her son so broken. He was nowhere near this bad before, even when Selia had disappeared almost a year before. Marcus opened his eyes and looked around. What looked like broken glass lay just above his head, making him jump. "What happened?" He asked his mother, sitting up and rubbing the back of his head. Lilyann shook her head. "You almost killed Selia and her friend. You were possessed." This made Marcus raise an eyebrow. "Apparently for a while.. Selia hasn't been here in over a year.." He said, then followed the finger that Lilyann pointed towards Valerie and Selia. Standing, Marcus went over to the two women and sat against the wall. Selia's eyes looked right through him.
Selia was dead to the world now, her injuries taking their toll. Valerie was trying to stop the heavy bleeding on her stomach. She looked at Marcus, ignoring the ink that was trying to spread. Even that was weakened by Selia's blood loss. "Help me." She commanded, taking one of his hands in her free one and pressing it against the wound so she could perform a healing spell. Marcus grimaced at the feel of blood and raw flesh.

Valik and Boothe joined the group after making sure the demon was dead. Valik looked at his older brother, and Boothe returned the same look. They both had the same thought: that it was a good thing Sebastian wasn't here. If he was, he would have gone mad and would have tried to kill Marcus even now. Valik placed a loving hand on Valerie's shoulder, knowing she was probably stressed beyond to hell. Boothe watched Selia and Marcus. "Do as she says." he said to Marcus, encouraging him.

Valerie took a deep breath, thankful for Valik's presence and his hand on her shoulder. She nodded, exhaled, and began to mutter spells under her breath. Lilyann had joined, listening carefully to what she was saying in case of mistakes. There were none. Selia gasped as the hole in stomach began to move and reconnect, and Marcus almost passed out. For a warrior, he was not one to watch things like this. A few minuted passed like this, and Selia was healed completely. The ink on her skin swirled madly as she gained strength.
Marcus stood, offering a hand to his mother. "Let's go home. We can come back later on." His voice was final. There was no way he was staying in the morbid place for any longer. Lilyann nodded, taking his hand and pulling herself up. "Okay. Selia?" Her voice was motherly, careful, caring. Selia looked up at Lilyann. "Yeah?" "Let's get you and your friends back to my house."

Boothe followed the others, but Valik stayed behind a moment. "I'll be right behind you guys." he assured. He walked around the foyer, studying the bodies and anything else he could find. He found a jar. It was empty, but he took it. Valik walked over to where the shards of the demon lay and used the jar to scoop them into it. He sealed it shut and raised it to eye level, watching it. Black mist slowly swirled above the shards. "Interesting," he mumbled. He cradled the jar in one of his arms. He walked over to the neko he had killed and scavenged pieces of its mechanical arm, stuffing them into the inside pockets of his jacket. He stared at the neko's opened eyes for a moment, then swiftly turned to leave.

Everyone arrived at the house in a few minutes, drawing attention on the streets. Rumors had begun already. One child whispered that the princess was back to save the kingdom, the other turned and said she was infatuated with a wolf. The kingdom fell apart, more than it already had before.
Lilyann waved her hand and the hearth was alive. The pot above it filled with raw ingredients that came from the kitchen and the home was soon filled with a scent of a thick stew.

Valik walked through the streets alone, hugging the jar close to his chest. His eyes had returned to normal, but he couldn't help but look down at his feet or just look ahead. He received many stares and heard plenty of frightened whispers. People backed away from him, mothers pushed their kids to their sides. But one small girl approached him. "Hey, mister!" she exclaimed, walking backwards in front of him. "Is it true you're a wolf? I like wolves." she smiled genuinely, not meaning any harm. Valik forced a smile. "I'm just a man, little girl." he lied. She seemed to get unhappy at that. She frowned. "Oh." she said, running back to her friends. Even with hearing what he had said the people didn't lighten up. They feared him and they didn't even know his name. He heard many people call him The Young Wolf. But Valik pushed past the stares and finally pushed into the door to Lilyann's. He sat at the table, still cradling the jar. Boothe gave him a strange look, but didn't ask of it. "Well, haven't we all had a long day." he said as he sat on the couch.

Selia sat next to Marcus, her eyes hanging low. She looked up when Valik entered the room and sat. "So. I feel as if I know you all. I recognize two of you. Lilyann and Marcus. Who are the rest of you?" Her voice was soft, frightened. The ink swirled on her hands. She wanted someone to hold her, but no one would. 'This damn ink...' Selia leaned away from Marcus.
Lilyann and Valerie exchanged a look. Valerie went to Selia's other side and sat, facing her. "I'm Valerie. We've known each other for a little while now, a few weeks at most. We are in a group together to fight what hurt you earlier." She explained, looking down at Selia's stomach to specify the Neko's.

Boothe frowned. Not this again.. he thought. "I'm Boothe. We met a good while ago. You came into my butcher shop, looking for work. That's also where you met Sebastian. Remember him? The quick one?" he placed his hand on the table. "When you and Sebastian went hunting, the nekos attacked and destroyed Sebastian and I's village. Then later that day you met Valik." he nodded towards his brother. Valik looked up at her with his blue eyes. "Valik helped save you today. He killed what hurt you." Boothe added, his voice suddenly soothing, trying to keep Selia comfortable. Valik forced a smile for her.

Selia nodded, remembering most of what they said now. "Where is Sebastian?" She asked, her eyes worried. "And what happened to the demon?" It was coming back to her in flashes.
Valerie let out a sigh of relief.. Selia seemed to remember with some jogging of her memory. That was good. It meant she was healing. The ink had stabilized her incredibly.

Valik pushed the jar closer to his chest. He didn't want anyone to take it from him when he had barely had any time to study it. Boothe looked at Selia. "Sebastian is at our camp, safe. He is with the Lady of Light, the leader of the Light Elves. Do not worry about him." Boothe assured her with the information Valik had given him. "But I'm sure he misses you very much." he added. Before Boothe could answer her other question, Valik answered. "We didn't banish it. We destroyed it." Valik said in his gravelly voice. Boothe nodded. "Nothing to worry about now." Boothe added.

Valerie nodded, looking at the jar and understanding. She still had to talk to Valik about what was going on with her, but now wasn't the time. 'He probably already knows..' Valerie turned to dish out the dinner, biting her lip as she gave herself a small portion. She had begun to be sick to her stomach, a sign of being a third of the way into a vampiric pregnancy. Lilyann gave her another scoop and reassuring rub on her shoulders.
Looking at Selia and Marcus, Lilyann sat across from them. "So, does the romance begin yet again?" She said, joking with them like she used to. Marcus just ducked his head, blushing, and Selia laughed. "Not this again, please." She said, catching her breath after a moment. Bowls floated to everyone with a thick slice of bread and a cup of ale.

Valik set the jar between his knees as he thanked for the food and began to eat. Boothe took the bowl in his hands and set his ale on the table. But he was watching Selia and Marcus. Boothe was more amused by it, but when this kind of thing would happen in front of Sebastian, Boothe would have to stifle his laughs. "'Not again' you say? Has this happened before? Come on, tell us the story." Boothe said, smiling. Valik snickered. Boothe and his brother shared a look. Boothe realized he needed to talk to him about Valik's powers that he had back at the castle. Was there more that Valik was keeping from them? Valik tore away from his brother and watched Marcus with his usual devilish looking smirk of his.

Marcus returned the smirk to Valik, his teeth barely showing. He then turned his attention to Selia. "Yes, dear. Tell them of the woods. Or even better, the horses." Lilyann burst into laughter. "Yes, yes. That one!" She encouraged, making Selia blush deeper. "Fine, fine!" She said, standing and getting more soup as she spoke. Biting her lip, she sat back down and thought for a moment how to start. "It was summer, and Marcus had just been chosen to be one of my guards. I was 13, he was 15." Marcus grinned at her, unable to take his eyes away from her face as she spoke. "There were horses that would run wild just outside the castle walls. He would sneak me out of the castle, which was punishable by death, just to see them. Fire horses, I think they were." Marcus nodded to clarify. He took over from there. "Just imagine this little girl close to your age. Blonde, young, beautiful, and about to be charged by a fire horse." His elbows had gone from his knees to the table so he could use his hands in gestures. "She was stupid enough to try and ride one. 'I have the power of fire' she would say." Selia blushed deeper. "Well, she got on one and it reared, kicked her in the head, and ran off. She woke up, saw me, ran, and kissed me. 'You're an angel!'" Marcus laughed at the memory. "And so the story began. Rumors spread that we were meant to be together, that I was a secret prince of some sort. I loved it." Marcus grinned at Selia. She just scoffed. "Oh, stop trying to be cute." She nudged his arm, smiling. "That wasn't even the funny part. He runs to his mom and says 'Mom! I just had my first kiss. And she can't remember my name!'" Marcus blushed, and Lilyann about fell out of her chair laughing at the memory.

Boothe chuckled. "What an interesting--" Boothe began, but was cut off by Valik. "Did you forget about Sebastian, Selia? You act like he never existed as soon as this boy comes back into your life." Valik said in a raised voice. Boothe looked at him, awestruck, but giving him a ******** look. "Don't look at me like that, Boothe, you're thinking the exact same thing!" Valik glared. Boothe scoffed. "And you know what I'm thinking?" Boothe challenged. "Yes! I know what you're all thinking!" he yelled and stood suddenly, catching the jar in his hands. "Selia, you know exactly what it feels like. Don't you remember when Sebastian was reunited with Crystal? Don't you? Don't you do this to him. He may have hurt me but at least he didn't know. You know exactly what you're doing!" he continued to yell at her. Boothe raised his voice back. "Sebastian isn't even here, Valik! Stop acting crazy!" Boothe shot back, his face red with anger. Valik's eyes had turned red by now. Boothe looked down at Valik's rested hand on the table to see long, black nails dug into the wood. Valik removed his hand. "Sebastian doesn't have to be here to know." Valik growled, then walked out of the door, glaring at Marcus with his blood red eyes as he did so. Boothe cleared his throat as the front door was slammed. "I'm sorry. He can be a bit of, er, a drama queen." Boothe said quietly, his voice strained. He rested his head in his hands, rubbing his temples.

Selia stood. "You know what Valik?! You're ******** right!" She was screaming, then went to follow him. Valerie and Marcus grabbed at her, missing by a hair. She was out the door before they could stand, "You hear me!?" She yelled, the crowd outside casting her odd glances. Selia had tears streaming down her cheeks. Fury could be felt coming off her in waves. She opened the door and threw her sword down. "I'm going out for a bit." Selia whispered, ashamed but furious. She went to the pub quietly, pulling her hood over her eyes and watching the ground.
Marcus sat, mouth gaping. "I was just kidding..." His voice trailed off into a quiet astonishment. Lilyann just pat Boothe's shoulder. "He'll be okay." She said, trying to convince herself more than anyone else.
