Valik let out a breathy laugh and nodded. "Yeah, sure." he smiled, walking with her. In such a small amount of time the camp was just about done. Lady's tent was the biggest and most beautiful. It was decorated with red and gold silk like the other tents, their colors, but was inlaid with jewels so when you opened the tent flap it would jingle like wood chimes.

Boothe shook his head. "But you cam back," he breathed. "That must show that you have compassion, no? It must show something." he looked at her with sincere eyes.

Valerie walked past Lady's tent, awestruck by its beauty. The other tents were large, able to fit three or four, depending on how comfortable the people were with each other. Another tent was laid aside for Sebastian, Valik, Donnie, and Valerie. It was almost the size of the Light Elven Queen. "These are beautiful.." She said, mostly to herself. She ran a hand over the silks. They were warm, a nice change from the cold outside. Ryan would love to see this... She shook the thought away. She was not going to linger on the past. "So, tell me something, Valik. Anything at all." She looked at him and kept walking. "I like hearing stories of things I was not there for." Her voice was earnest and curious.

Selia shrugged. "I suppose so. I can try, but if it does not work soon, I will find someone. There are many who are corrupt, so it will be difficult." She stood up as she spoke, walking to the window. It was snowing heavily now. Thick flakes clung to the window. Lilyann stirred, rolling over to look at Boothe and Selia. "Darling, go make this kingdom something to be loved. That's what your mother would want." She mumbled, having heard their conversation. She rolled back over and slept more, her head pounding from the alcohol the night before.

As they passed Lady's tent, he peeked in to see Lady sitting on a large, golden pillow, talking with what looked like the Captain of the soldiers. Valik smirked. "Well, what is it you want to know?" he asked her. "Once Boothe shat himself when we were hunting for his shop back home." Valik nodded, trying to hold in his laugh. "We thought we heard a wolf, and Boothe is terrified of wolves," oh, the irony.. he thought. "Anyway, a rabbit jumped out right in front of us, and, well, I think you know what happened from there." Valik chuckled. He knew Valerie was asking for a more serious story, but Valik was never one for seriousness, anywho.

Boothe nodded slowly, in thought. Then he suddenly stood. "Well, I think I'm going to go exploring the markets, get a feel of the place." He headed towards the door. What he really meant was search for a pub.

Valerie snickered. She found it hard to believe that Boothe would do such a thing. He seemed so ... macho, for lack of a better word, to her. "I can imagine you will never let him live that down." She smiled at Valik. Valerie liked his company, even if he was a wolf. She was drawn to him, and found him fascinating in how he acted.

Selia stood as well. "Have fun. Avoid the buildings that have red doors... They are all homes of pickpockets." She warned him casually, beating him to the door and holding it open for him. "I'll meet you at the pub for lunch, if you'd like."

Valik shook his head as he laughed. "Of course not. I'm his brother; that's my job." he answered. They walked in silence for a few moments. Valik looked up from his feet. "What do you think is taking Selia and Boothe so long?" he asked, not knowing if Valerie even knew. "We all agreed to meet back at camp by nightfall." he looked at her, concern in his bright eyes.

Boothe chuckled. "Not like there's anything worth value in these pockets," he joked, patting at his new brown trousers. "Yes, yes. That sounds perfect." He thanked her for opening the door for him then waltzed out.
When coming to the streets red doors were everywhere. It was clear that this place had become corrupt and dangerous. A new leader is needed, indeed... he thought, agreeing with what Selia had said this morning.

Valerie looked at Valik and wrapped one of her slender arms around him. "I don't know, but have faith in them." She had a terrible feeling that something would go wrong, but she had to ignore the feeling. Valerie gave his waist a slight squeeze and sighed, then continued to walk. She turned on her heels, her eyes suddenly bright. "They are probably on their way back now." The words were forced, stiff, and fake.

Selia nodded and began to run towards the castle. Some of the towers had fallen. One man sat at the gates, still in uniform. "Ah, the princess returns to the fallen kingdom." He said sarcastically, puffing on a cigarette and patting a hand on his sword hilt. "Marcus, we need to talk. This kingdom needs a leader, and you are one of the few who I trust." Marcus stood up, a full foot taller than Selia. "And why should I? This place is a s**t hole anyway. It's hopeless." Selia looked at him, her eyes hard and full of fire that was not there before. Her ink swirled, and the crescent on her collar burned bright. "Because this is my kingdom. We once thought of it as ours. And I am your queen." The words were full of emotion and power.

Valik forced a smile, trying to accept that they were okay. "Woah," he said as she turned. He followed her direction. "Yeah, maybe," he said, almost solemnly out of worry. "Should we head back?" Valik chewed at his lip. Something's off, he thought, things have been to slow and calm lately...

Boothe traveled through the streets. Many people were begging, children were stealing, merchants asking for outrageous prices. Boothe noticed a brothel up ahead. His eyes widened. Tempting. he thought to himself, chuckling, but moved on. He bartered with some merchants so he could get some loaves of bread. He spread them out to the people as much as he could. He noticed there was no forest around, only outside of the gate and the high walls. No wonder they're starving. They can't leave; it's too dangerous to. he frowned, pitying the starving and feeble.

Valerie looked up at Valik. "I'm going to find them. Something isn't right, and I'm not okay with it." She stopped and looked at him. "Are you going to come?"

Marcus laughed. "Sure you are, Selia. Sure you are." He grabbed her hand and pulled her down to sit next to him, then draped his arm over her shoulders. "So, where you been?" He looked at her, still smiling. The smile soon faded as the ink tried to crawl up his arm. He shook it away, looking horrified. "I thought it was just a tattoo..." Marcus looked at Selia was questioning eyes, knowing the past. "You're keeping it, right?" Selia shrugged, scooting an inch away from him to keep safe. "I'm not sure yet. But that's not why I'm here. Marcus.. we need to take control over the kingdom. And they need someone who isn't corrupt. They need you." She looked at him, then up at the castle. "I'm going inside, it's cold." She stood and offered a gloved hand to Marcus, who took it and pulled himself up. "I think you need to meet your friend soon." He gave a half smile and opened the gate. Selia gave a half laugh, remembering he could read minds of the people he had contact with. His hand was still in hers as they walked up the stairs. Wood covered the doors, preventing entry for the time being. "Oh well... Might as well meet Boothe." Marcus still held Selia's hand in his and pulled her away. He didn't want her to even see the inside of the castle. It horrified even him.

Valik just looked at her. "Sebastian won't like more disappearances." he said. "But, if you think I should. The only thing is: how will we get there? The kingdom is leagues from here. It would even take me days to get there." he questioned.

Boothe sat at the bar of the pub, sipping on some scotch. He held the half empty glass even though it was resting on the counter, as if protecting it. His fingers tapped against the dirty table as he scanned his surroundings. Lilyann was right; the people really do dress dully here. Even though Boothe fit in with his new clothes, he still felt like everyone was eyeing him as fresh meat. Perhaps it was his bolster sword resting on his bent back.

Valerie looked at him and smiled coyly. "I was a practiced witch doctor, don't forget that. I know some spells." She said, turning towards the camp. "And I'll tell Sebastian what we are doing. He might want to come." She walked.

Selia and Marcus walked into the pub and saw Boothe immediately. "You stick out like a sore thumb, dear." Selia whispered, sitting down on his right. Marcus sat next to her, hand laying on hers when she set it on the table. It wasn't romantic, he just liked knowing what she thought. Her mind was a maze sometimes. "This is Marcus. He's one of the few we can trust here. He saved me countless times, and he was my best friend. He's also Lilyann's son." Selia explained, ordering as she did. Three more scotches slid down the bar quickly.

Valik snickered. "Of course, Valerie, how could I forget?" he winked at her. They walked to the camp together. Valik didn't say much because he was too busy scanning the beauty of the elves and their work. They even had a forge set up. He wondered how they did all of this in such a short amount of time. When entering the camp, the sounds of jewels chiming and the clamor of steel was heard.
Sebastian sat across from Lady on the red rug of her tent. "Do not think our actions have gone unnoticed," she warned, crossing her legs on her cushion. Sebastian nodded, listening intently. "I do not believe they know our location," she continued, "but to make sure I will get in contact with Wissandra." she finished, taking a drag from her long, golden cigarette. Sebastian raised an eyebrow. "Wissandra? Who is she?" he questioned. Lady lay her cigarette on the low table and looked at him with her pale eyes. "Your new friend, Donnie, he knows her. Wissandra is the Spiritual leader of his village. I believe your darker friends met him," Lady nodded, meaning Valerie and Valik. "She sees all. We both share powers, yes, but I do not have some of the powerful abilities she does, understand." Sebastian nodded. "Listen, Sebastian, you must stay here, at this camp." she inched closer to him. "You are what shields us." she breathed.
Sebastian walked out of Lady's tent, spotting Valik and Valerie. He jogged up to them and looked between them with a confused expression. "Uh oh," he moaned. "What is it?" he crossed his arms, knowing he was about to be told something he would not like.

Boothe eyed where Marcus' hand lay, then looked at him. "Ah, good to meet you, Marcus." he smiled, taking another drink before he continued. "I'm Boothe." he offered his hand for a shake, not knowing of his powers.

Valerie looked at Sebastian carefully. "We're going to find Selia and Boothe. They've been gone too long, and I can transport us their. Would you like to come?" Her voice did not shake or waver, it stayed steady and calm. It surprised her since she feared Sebastian. His mind was a mystery to her, and his disappearances worried her. Something kicked in her stomach, making her double over. She wrapped an arm around her torso and looked up at the two men. Tears were in her eyes. Her and Ryan's fears were true.

Marcus took his hand and snickered. "It's not like that friend, though I can't promise it will stay that way." He was referring to his look at his and Selia's hands. Selia gave him a look of impatience, much like a parent does to a child who acts to the limits of what it okay. "I can read minds on contact. Forgive me for not saying so sooner." He pulled his hand back. He took a long sip of his scotch. Selia looked at Boothe, pulling her hand away from Marcus. "For now, let us just eat and get to know each other. Do not speak of what we need to, speak of lighter things." Selia said quietly to Boothe, knowing that Marcus already knew. His hand was on her covered waist.

Sebastian sighed, shaking his hair in frustration. "I can't; Lady needs-" he was interrupted by Valerie's fall. Valik rushed to her side. "Valerie, what is it? What's wrong?" Valik said quickly, his eyes flickering. Sebastian approached them, taking Valerie's other side. "Let us help you up." he offered, gently holding her arm. "What is it?" Valik repeated.

Boothe wanted to jerk back when shaking hands with him after feeling a strange connection. He drank the rest of his scotch. "Sorry," Boothe chuckled. "I'm sure my brain is not as interesting as Selia's." he said, winking at her. Oh, Sebastian will just looove this. he thought with a coy smile. "Well, I'm a fat Russian who likes his drinks. Not much else to it." he raised his glass for the bartender to pour more. "Oh!" he exclaimed, putting the drink down to fast a bit of the scotch poured onto the dirty table. "And, my baby brother is a werewolf. How could I forget?" he chuckled sarcastically. He had been drinking too much it seems, but he didn't stop going at his scotch.
PostPosted: Wed Jun 19, 2013 12:21 pm

Valerie let them help her up. "I think I just ate something that isn't agreeing with me. Stomach aches are my worst pains.." Her voice was strained, like she was biting her tongue. They couldn't find out, at least not yet. A baby vampire, that would go over well. She was hoping it would be a miscarriage, but that obviously wasn't going to happen. She was too far along.

Marcus laughed. "Selia's mind is something else, that's for sure." He winked at her as well, although his meant something. She was his first love, and he wasn't about to lose her again. "Well, I'm Marcus, a fire elf warrior who was sentenced to protect this princess at all costs. There was sixteen of us, and I am the last. One was killed every year on her birthday, based on her unknowing choice. She was just drawn to me, I guess." He flashed a cocky smile. "It is a pleasure to meet you, friend."

Sebastian chuckled. "I didn't know vampires ate anything other than blood." he joked, smiling for her. Sebastian seemed to believe her story, but not Valik. He eyed her cautiously, knowing something was up. He could literally smell it. He'd noticed it before but just thought his new senses were still kicking in. "Well, Sebastian, I suppose Valerie and I should get going since Lady needs you." he said, changing the subject. Sebastian nodded, suddenly solemn. "Watch out for Selia for me, will you two?" he frowned, not meaning to.

Boothe widened his eyes. Sebastian will REALLY love this. He downed more of his scotch, as if that would brace him for Sebastian's future quarries with Marcus which he would surely have if they met. Selia didn't seem to be acting like she noticed, but Boothe still felt uncomfortable in the situation of it all. "Well, it's even more of an honor to be meeting you." he smiled. "My brother and our good friend, Sebastian, we're just your regular wood elves." he shrugged. "Though Sebastian's the only one that looks the part." he chuckled, taking another gulp of his drink. "Sebastian's a good man. Caring." he eyed Selia for a moment, then looked back at his drink.
