Sighing she slipped the letter from her bodice, the paper still warm from being in near proximity to her body. A little crinkled but no worse for where she pulled out a hair pin, rejecting the Captains dagger and in one graceful motion broke the seal and opened the letter with a snap.

"Mr. Vanstring, pass the word for - Oh, christ -I'll do it myself."
*Turning from Midnight, he balled out over the deck in a heavy loud commanding voice that was more suitable for battle than a quiet sunday afternoon.*
"MISS ARES! REPORT TO THE QUARTERDECK!"
*Pulling yet another packet from the inner pocket of his coat, Jack played with it as it rested in his palm. Smacking the binnacle housing with it, he chuckled.*
"Just wait until Miss Ares arrives and you may see what it is all about."

She sit open the envelope and glanced over the note.
Quote: -~:Officer's Commission:~- 'Let it be Herby Known to all that bear Witness, that Her Ladyship Miss 'Midnight' Melaria Shall be Known Henceforth to Stand as Acting Second Lieutenant Aboard the 24 Gun Brig-of-War HMS 'LADY WASHINGTON'. She has been Tested and Tried and has been found Worthy of this Position. Acting Second Lieutenant answers to none but her Superiors, that of which are the Acting First Lieutenant & the Commander of the Vessel in Question.' -: Joy to you, the Acting Second Lieutenant of the 24 Gun Brig-of-War HMS LADY WASHINGTON:-
Looking up, the captain had removed himself from her side but she took a few quick steps to catch up with his rapid movement.
"What does this mean? What are you trying to..." but the words died in her mouth. What did this mean? Was he trying to protect her by increasing her rank or putting her in more harms way? It was confusing to try and think out the motive behind his grey eyes.

*she ran up to the Captain as he handed her the envelope. She looked at it cautiously, and then opened it* Quote: -~:Officer's Commission:~-

-: Joy to you, the Acting First Lieutenant of the 24 Gun Brig-of-War HMS LADY WASHINGTON:- *She looks up at the Captain with her eyes wide. She smiled at him and back to the letter, which she could hardly believe. First Lieutenant!* Thank you, sir. It is an honour to be servin' under yer leadership. Even if this be the end of our journey, I be glad that I spent the last of it with ye. *she gave a bow to him for the tremendous honour of being promoted to first lieutenant*

*Laughing aloud at Miss Ares's excitement, Jack bowed deep in reply.*
"You are quite welcome, Miss Ares, but you musn't thank me. You've earned it entirely on your own good graces..."
*Looking over his shoulder as Midnight ran to his side, he wore a look of odd wonderment. Had he done wrong by her? Was this not the right course of action? Was promotion not in the right of things?*
"My dear, it means promotion. As for what I am at, I only advance you through the ranks by means of restoring you to your officer's rank. I know it's not Acting First, but still... to be Second!"

Smiling she remembered their younger days. She had been his first for such a long time and it was a pleasure to serve him. She decided to do her best wherever he would need her.
Curtsying, she smiled up at him, "As the Captain wishes."

(Continued from the galley)
*Aeoess ran to the captain excited (She's quite happy when she feels useful)*
"Kurisutofa, the food is ready!!"
*Aeoess then heard her stomach grumble and began to run back down to the galley. As she is running she addresses all who are on deck.*
"Get your arses over there or I'll eat it all!!"
*She playfully ran to the galley to see if Destiny needed her help any more, and, of course, to eat.*

Syn had crawled halfway up the rigging to join John in taking down the sheets, but as she heard the congratulations and realized what had happened, she hooked her knees in rope and leaned backward, hanging upside down as she hollered down to the two of them.
"HOY! Congratulations to the both o' ya! Ya look sad from here but that's prolly 'cuz I'm hangin' upside down!"
With that, she leaned back up and clutched the rigging, scrambling up to the sails, more agile than any monkey. Once there, she perched on one of the beams and blinked at John with her gray eye as she pulled out a black bandana to tie her auburn hair back, away from her face.
"So! How d'ya take down these buggers?" She jabbed one with a finger, apparently quite comfortable up so high.

The deck seemed a logical place to start his search for the Captain, and the doctor was not disappointed with the results. Having found the Captain he calmly approached him.
Quietly leaning in he asked in a hushed voice, "How's your memory doing?"
Standing straight, Baxter then spoke in a more audible tone, "You wanted to see me, sir?"

"Rises like the tide, thank you doctor.'
*Pacing to the taffrail, Kurisutofa gazed upon the Boadicea as she swept ever closer, her bow wave throwing up an amazing spray that poured over her bows.*
"We're dying, Doctor. Or at least we will be with your help: the Ladies need to show signs of the plauge. Not just any old three day sickness either. We need a plauge of monumentious proportions. All men and women are to look as if they are on the Banks of the River Styx itself.
So, with that being said, I leave it to you: What must we do? I've already ordered the galley stoves to be lit and to burn all fowl smelling stenchous materials we possess, including lard fat and any dead livestock we may have aboard. The smoke will give off the look that we are burning our dead rather than poison the unforgiving sea. Now, what else would give off the look of our being plauged?"

"The most common symptoms of the plague are profuse sweating, blackened lesions on the skin, and coughing up blood," Baxter thought a moment. "I don't know what you have in the ship's stores to make the look of the blackened lesions, but sweating should be easy enough to accomplish if you use warm sea water. Also, I wouldn't suggest that everybody have the plague as it would be unlikely for the entire crew to have such a progressed level of the infection. So certain people should appear to be more healthy than others, and not necessarily officers as the plague does not descriminate."
Reginald then stood silent, awaiting the Captain's reply.

"Tar and Gun-powder, Mr. Baxter. These will give the look of the blackend lesions desired. As for who has the plauge... well, everyone shall be infected, but I want the hands to look more sickly than the officers. We'll have to make this look convincing enough that both their commanding officers and their men are frightend to come near the ship. We are to play to the seaman's superstitions as well."
*A fit of rage swept over Kurisutofa as he gazed at his watch*
"MR. VANSTRING! YOU SOD, TURN THE GLASS AND STRIKE THE BELL! MR. JOHN, PIPE ALL HANDS TO DINNER!"

- Blushing -
"Yes, sur. Sorri, sur."
- Stepping forward, Myere clanged the bell three times and flipped the hour glass that hung beside it, keeping the time one grain of sand at a time. Tapping the glass a little, he urged the five minutes he'd missed through to the bottom of the glass. -
