I looked at the Profiles page, and it looks like there's no particular profile skeleton for characters.
Is that the case, or am I just overlooking something critical? >_>;;
Also, I'd like some advice regarding how to introduce my character into The Black Company... It goes without saying that with so many different RP threads going on simultaneously that I'm a little indecisive about how I should begin.
Thoughts? Cake? Real Estate?

HoH planning begins at Thanksgiving, so we'll be aware of any changes that have been made to the process by sometime thereafter. There's really nothing you can do to "prepare" for HoH besides the following.
Practice fighting Practice fighting with more realistic/toned down characters Practice writing
HoH is a team-tournament based on points per match. You get points for dominance, creativity, crowd appeal, readability, logic, etc etc etc. It's not like I can hand you a winning formula. The Judges will tell you what is overpowered.
If you eat stars, overpowered. If you regenerate from a single cell, overpowered. If you bath the entire arena in tendrils of darkness that instantly disintegrate the enemy, you're overpowered. Keep in mind that the guy who's been plowing through this Tournament has like, heat resistance, and a sword that can change from a rapier to a flamberge.
It's more like a fighting game style than it is an epic gods RP.

Good threads to start: Black Company Dojo The Town of Enid Silver Moon Plains Universal Location Thread These starting points are outlined in the rules thread several posts down in the thread web. 3nodding If its a random one or two post introduction the Universal thread is good.

AS absurd as this may sound... what is the BC's take on temporal distortions.
For example, I am considering a character skeleton to introduce. Except that he is from another place all together, and a time far more primitive and violent than the present day. He was pulled into a rift in space after a coven of Chronotechnic mages attempted to reverse the state of destruction their world had experienced. IS this considered viable, if the character is not imbalanced and the background is not used to grant him extremely powerful weapons/ knowledge, etc? The only benefit it would give him regarding the world of BC is that he would not be a creature of prophecy. He wouldn't be bound, in any way, to the strings of fate or the hands of destiny that act in this world.
That fair? = /

BC has everyone from everywhere and everywhen, I don't think it would be much of a problem.

Also the masked ball is just a chance for BC people to cause trouble, so everyone is not invited so everyone must find a way to crash into the event. Don't worry it's twice Royal security will be slim and everyone is wearing masks anyways! Might be harder for the girls depending on the dresses and those who have high status or know the twice royal people rather well already can probably just walk in.

Whoa whoa whoa, totally not what I was going for. s**t, if I thought you'd have some objections I wouldn't have done it. First, I didn't go after any of your characters or areas I expected to be sensitive, which is why the Vandalism is all outside the tower. Guy was specifically being stealthy and vandalism isn't exactly the most daunting task. If he'd been trying to break into the building, that would have been a lot harder. Twice Royal hasn't exactly had any outer city limits that are protected from my past experience, so I don't think the guy would have any trouble entering the city either. The characters involved (i.e. the crowd and the authorities) I considered to be NPCs and unimportant. They're basically background noise, if you will. If you prefer to have exclusive control over said authority figures and/or all the people, I can edit so that no actions are taken by them. Again, I didn't think they would be important characters and I wasn't intending to harm them, so I basically made what I thought would be an appropriate guess of what the general reaction would be. The focus of the post is the vandalism and the appearance of the masked guy. If you want to edit anything else or don't like it, then go ahead and edit or ignore it; it's not important. In the end, most of the post is unimportant, and I only put it there for the sake of completeness. None of it was intended to seem overpowered. If it's the amount of vandalism that's the problem, then just shrink it down to a lesser amount.

I'll probably sneak a character in just for lulz, but hopefully someone else comes along to cause trouble. Later in the week is better for me, but I don't know about anyone else.
Although, Bayne, this could be a fun way to introduce your character. Also, as funny as the word chronotechnic mages is, there's really no problem giving your character a whacky background. However, he will have serious integration problems if his vocabulary consists only of 'zug zug.'
