((Such cute animals!!))
Ever gasped and fell back into the lunch table's bench seat in complete shock as she heard the voice in her head. She looked with wide eyes between Aurora and Altan.
"He... he... he talked to me! Did you hear that?!" A small smile was beginning to creep onto her face.

Aurora giggled slightly. "Yes, he does that. He's very intelligent, actually, and quite talkative." Altan was also laughing; as a cat, it was not audible, but through their minds, it was a chuckling baritone.

Transfixed completely, Ever slowly lowered her head to the cafeteria table so that she would be eye-level with the Sphinx. Her eyes were huge and filled with awe and excitement.
She thought of the words in her mind and hoped that it would work, that the Sphinx would get them.
She thought, "Can you hear me, too?"

Arielle spared a brief smile at Akira, but trusted her cats and her dog--who was also her familiar--to keep the girl occupied.
The Great Dane's tail thumped happily and he sat next to Akira. His collar revealed his name to be Etzel. The two cats both seemed to like the dog hanyou, if their purring was any indication.
((Somewhat of a side-note: the Great Dane is very big. On his hind legs, he's over seven feet tall. Standing, his shoulders come up to the average person's waist.))

Ophi smiled a little when he saw the task the Headmistress had given the girl - and the girl, surprisingly, took it in good stride. "Familiars, hmm?"
He would pointedly fail to answer any questions about Lin until he and Arielle were the only ones in the office.

Arielle noted his hesitance. "Akira? Would you mind to go into the side-room?" She pointed to the room that, earlier, Caroline had used to find a uniform of a good fit. The clothes would still be there, but there was a couch and a small glass table.

{{Lisa had to go eat supper, so do you want to assume Akira went to the side room? Up to you two.}}

You are very entertained, are you not? It was a pleasant comment, and Altan continued to purr throughout so as to convey that he held no harsh feelings or ill intentions. Sometimes, people would think he did. It wasn't very fun. ((Here's a picture of a cat who is relatively the same size as I picture Altan to be: ))

Akira took the hint and nodded, somewhat annoyed of all the secrecy lately, before silently urging the animals onto the smaller room. The Great Dane, Etzel, was a very huge dog, but somehow, the girl figured he'd fit into the room anyways.
Not before long, all three animals and herself were snuggled up in there, Akira continuing to brush them one by one and have a small chat, with Etzel at least, since she could clearly understand him.
The Dog Hanyou wondered if she should listen in, since her acute hearing would allow her too obviously, but she was being "punished" right now for having done that in the 1st place, so would that defeat the purpose of said punishment?
Jeez, one of her best talents and it was practically always a crime!

Etzel happily nudged his head against Akira, hoping to distract her effectively from trying to listen in on the conversation taking place in the next room. Hi! I'm Etzel! He barked quietly, tail wagging.

Ophiuchus stared at the door and muttered something in Latin, casting a soundproofing spell on it. It would work both ways, preventing the girl from hearing them, and them from hearing anything from within the room.
"Lin lost someone close to her, yes..."

Arielle nodded. "I've gathered that much," she said. "But can you tell me who? And what they were to her? I'm afraid that I am very much in the dark about these matters at the moment."

"... A teacher," Ophiuchus said cautiously. "That she liked very much, and learned a lot from."
That... wasn't a total lie, right? He wanted to respect Lin's privacy - and he knew that many people were prejudiced against vampires. And at this school, dark magic was a huge taboo. He really wanted Lin to be able to come back to MFHS eventually.
