Renon21 Haha you're a Starbuck's barista now you pumpkin spice latte making person. Now if only I can remember everything else they make. Which is hard, because I step into a Starbucks once every... 5 years or something... Yeah, I'm gonna be a terrible barista, y'all.

Halloween Event Proposal
At this point trying to have a guild thread for the Halloween event is out of the question since we're already in October. Could we maybe just have a costume contest here in the guild? Simple and to the point, no excessive requirements except for the usual rule of zero gore allowed in the costume. Don't know if we want to allow backgrounds with the entries or not (personally I think the background distracts from the actual outfit and makes it harder to focus on). We could just plunk the contest thread right here in the main forum since its not a huge party. People can even link their entries via their outfit closet if they still have an available slot for saving.
The other option is to ghost someone's invo for the contest. That way everyone is working with the same items. idk, just a thought...... neutral

Work's been keeping me so busy lately, and I've not been able to keep up with the birthday thread even. :' I'm sorry everyone. I do feel like we need something to get the guild involved again somehow. Halloween's one of the most fun holidays after all. :3 Formatted by Gaia.Upgrade

Not sure what to do about prizes (do we want 1st-3rd place, or just one winner?). Either way, we probably need to have the thread up and running for submissions by the 25th at the very latest. The only thing I have for a decent prize is a Barton bundle Hydro gave me to use for RO (which never happened), so I guess I could use that for 1st prize????? confused Side note, I hear you on being busy. I've got a seasonal hiring event to go to this weekend at Target. I'm hoping I can get a job there since it is so close to home.

Just a little update on my job hunt adventures......
......applied to Target and now I'm waiting to see if I get a second round interview this week. Since they're in the middle of seasonal hiring, they did on the spot interviews if you came in this weekend to apply. Kinda glad I got that out of the way. Just a heads-up, if I do get hired I may not have too much time for online since I requested 40 hours per week preference and the 90 day holiday season is insane.

And I totally understand if you don't have time. I was a seasonal cashier in 2014 and I sure was busy... I'm just glad I didn't work that period from Thanksgiving night throw the early morning of Black Friday! sweatdrop

It sounds like my mom will definitely get the job (she applied as well), but I'm not sure sure about me after hearing what her interview was like. I think I may get gypped just because I had the wrong type of person doing my interview.

How was everyone's Halloween and week?
I miss my old account. I used to be mechaganon until I was moronic enough to believe a hacker in towns... they then changed my accounts name to ganonbetch... or ganonbitch. I did report it, but nothing.

Okay so I haven't been around here lately and it's pretty understandable given what I'm going through and about to go through. So the last time I said anything in here I was talking about neighborhood gossip. Since then something massively serious has been happening to me. Starting around the end of September I think it was I started having trouble eating and swallowing food. It started out as just discomfort when eating occasionally and then started happening every day and then nearly every meal. Out of concern my mom had me see a general internist in October and at first he put me on a prescription generic Zantac.
As time went on it started getting to the point where I could barely eat solid foods. I threw up badly on three different occasions and had developed a cough where I was producing warm phlegm at times. I went back to my primary care physician and he recommended I go to a GI specialist. However, the night before Thanksgiving I had very bad drive heaves and went into the ER and while they couldn't do anything for me at that time they confirmed nothing else was going on with me. I saw my GI specialist and on Dec 1 he attempted to run a scope into my throat to see what was going on with the issues I have. However, that turned out to not be as easy as he had hoped. It turns out he couldn't get the scope down far enough to get a good picture of what was going on. So they had to admit me over the last weekend into the hospital to run a few tests while they waited on the results of the biopsy. I was able to tolerate liquids and ice cream and they let me go home. The CT showed that the mass in my esophagus had not spread which is a good sign.
However, today when we got the results of the biopsy it proved positive for cancer in the esophagus. The surgeon at the local hospital is trying to get me into an oncologist as soon he can. My cousin's oldest daughter who works at a university affiliated hospital and knows specialists in the field is asking her friends in that department to recommend someone for me. I'm either going to need surgery and then radiation and chemo or radiation and chemo and then surgery. If they do it by the book the way the surgeon had talked about today it means taking away the diseased tissue and redirecting part of the stomach to become the new esophagus. It means a lifetime of eating tiny meals and sleeping propped up should that be the course of treatment. I can no longer eat anything solid that isn't ice cream until further notice. If they decide to go with radiation and chemo first it might shrink things to the point where I can start to eat some solids again. But either way this going to be weeks of treatment, surgery, and hospitalization for me. I'll keep everyone as updated as I can when I know what's going on.
I had hoped for the best today but was prepared for anything and come hell or high water I'm going to fight this thing with everything I have. I know this isn't the news you guys had wanted to hear from me but I felt since all of you are some of my closest friends on this site you deserved to know what's happening with me.
