Lin positively beamed at Ambrose and actually scooted a little closer to him in her excitement. "Oh, I SO want to be a healer here at home for everyone! The best healer that we have ever had that incorporates both our Eastern medicines and the Western medicines we have never tried before! I think healing can be one of the best ways you can really help people. You improve their lives."
She then cocked her head to the side and smirked softly at Ambrose. "That was a very good question, Ambrose. What is YOUR dream of the future? What exactly is your goal?"

"My goal?" He blinked, actually blushed, but answered the question anyway. "I want to...to be strong enough to protect my wife and children. Get a job that would allow me to support them, see them off to good schools...It's not much, and it's not glamorous, but it's a dream." He said, remembering how his mother had scoffed the one time he'd brought it up to her.

Lin gasped softly as she heard Ambrose's response and then smiled brightly at him. There was a softness in her eyes as well.
"Ambrose, that's beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. Any woman would be so lucky to be your wife when you have a dream like that. You are so family oriented. It is truly admirable."
She then smirked at him and joked, "So, is there a woman at school you have in mind already for a wife?"
To her, he wasn't too young to marry. Here at her home, Elves married at his age all the time. There were also some that married much later. However, most Elves wanted to begin their families early.

Night nodded at the images and was especially amused with the last one. "Well I know life may never return to normal with your first family, but you got us Girl." He chuckled bringing back his normal creepy tone. "and trust me if there's a will there's a way.besides humans have been fighting against unfavorable fates ever since they were created." He patting her on the back softly.

"I did say you were good for me." She said, then suddenly they were back by the shack again, and the sun was just starting to come up. "It's time for work, Night. We'll just take this day by day, and to hell with anyone who tries to screw that up." She said with a forced resolve, and when she walked back in, leaving the door open for Night and Moe, Cook was just coming down the stairs, running his hands over his bald head.
"Mornin', Da. Coffee'll be ready in a bit." She said, and Cook just looked at her as she walked, smiling softly, into the kitchen. Then he looked at Night, raising a brow before calling for the dogs, who came running at the prospect of breakfast. "She looks a bit more normal...But if anything, get her sleeping instead of walking. She hasn't slept past two in months." He said, glancing worriedly towards the kitchen, where the scent of coffee and frying bacon was wafting in.

Ambrose blushed again, then took a deep breath and smiled. Well, who cared what his mother thought, anyway. It was his future, after all. When she spoke jokingly of already having a wife picked out, he paused for a bit, then decided to go for it, knowing she'd never take him seriously or think about what he'd said.
"Oh, yes, I've got my eyes set on a lovely little lady. I find myself staring at her all too often like some lovesick puppy, and she's everything I could ever hope for. She's soft and delicate, fragile but with a strong backbone...She's loyal and kind, and tries to understand things she's not familiar with. She sings like an angel, dances like a dream. And she makes me forget that I'm supposed to be civilized, instead of throwing her over my shoulder to hide her from the rest of the world. Some days I just want to put her in a big glass bubble where nothing can hurt her. But then I think she wouldn't much care to be secluded from everyone else, so instead I find myself wanting to get stronger so that maybe one day I'll be good enough so that she can lean on me when she needs to...I'm pretty sure she had me hooked the moment she smiled at me for the first time...And I think it wouldn't be so bad to die if it meant protecting her...And being willing to lay down your life for someone...well, let's just say I'm done falling in love. I've stopped falling and have hit the ground with one big splat. There's no turning back for me now, no siree." She said this with exaggerated hand movements and gestures in an effort to make it seem like one big joke.

((That's so sweet!!))
Lin had just stared at Ambrose during his speech. He may have tried to make it look like he was just joking around, but as she had said before, Lin could read people quite well. He really spoke with such passion and sincerity, and she loved that. Not many people spoke that way today, and it really was quite a shame.
When he was done speaking, Lin slowly and softly smiled at him. "Ambrose, that is beautiful. You don't have to act like it is a joke. Do not be embarrassed about your feelings or your dreams. They really are beautiful."
Her smile brightened, then, and she clasped her hands in her lap. "Well, whoever she is, I would love to try and help you win her heart, as well, if you want me to. Although, I am sure it will not take much for someone like you to win her heart as long as you speak from yours."

Ambrose looked away for a moment, wishing she realized how close her words came to home. As if she could help him win her...Yeah, that'd be something. And when he spoke this time, it was directly from the heart, with no attempt at foolishness.
"Oh, I don't think it'll work out as easy as that. See, I've got a feeling, lovely Lin, deep in my gut, that there's someone else trying to steal away my dream girl. She gets a look in her eye, such a lovely look, and I recognize it for what it is because I catch myself making that same face. She's thinking about someone, someone she can't get out of her head, and it's not me...It's nothing I can prove, of course, not really even to myself, but I...I can sense it, deep down."
He gave a pained smile, wishing she realized what kind of expressions she made sometimes without realizing it. "It'll be no easy fight from my end, and she doesn't even realize I care for her. But I can't give up, so...In the end, just maybe I'll be the one she chooses. And if not...I'll just learn how to mend a broken heart, simple as that." He said with a shrug, and scratched the back of his head. Oh, how complicated some things had to be...

"Yeah other then you and her I know that better then anyone." He stepped inside the house making sure to not run into anything. Nights Hair had taken a more brownish change from the normal pitch black, and he looked a bit less demonic then usual. Changes were happening to him beyond his control, now he was starting to look like the teen from his illusions.
Kai Was busy walking through the halls absorbing the energy from any soldier unlucky enough to be caught in his snare. He worked his way down closer to the others from the mystic fountain. He grabbed one final soldier tossing him against the wall with his tendrils. With one final staircase He walked calmly infront of Alec and Luna. "Oh good I finally found you two."

Alec was still standing behind his shield staring at the ceiling and hoping for an answer from the stranger up in the vents. But when Alec heard the gunshots suddenly stop, Alec turned around to see what was going on. Alec was quite surprised to see a purple man with four tendrils coming out of his back coming towards them. Alec was about to attack when the person addressed them directly. This caught Alec off guard, and his confusion showed when he spoke. "Ummm... I'm sorry, do I know you?"

Cook nodded, then studied Night a moment, his brow furrowing. "Somethin' changed with you, boy-o. You don't quite so strange these days...Well, whatever. I smell bacon, so let's get us some food and grill the girl about anything and everything that annoys her. She's better off annoyed than worried." He said with false cheer, understanding his 'daughter' well.

"No Alec but I know you, thanks for fixing up the school I've been working on for five years, Luna knows me tho." He sighed looking towards the vents. "... you waiting for the Ra or something?" He asked rather calmly considering the situation.
Night chuckled nodding at cook "Yeah I've noticed, And I have to agree with you cook, better annoyed as us then worried." He chuckled again walking into the kitchen.

Lin frowned slightly at what Ambrose said, and she hardly ever frowned, unless she was trying to discover an answer to a very hard question. She felt so bad for him. She couldn't imagine having the feelings she had for Dymetri for someon who did not feel the same way about her. It would be utterly heartbreaking. Of course, Elves loved hard. They didn't love often. They were very particular on who they gave their heart to, expecting to be with them forever. And for an Elf, forever was literally forever if you married another Elf, which you usually did. And Ambrose was part Elf.
Lin hoped she wasn't overstepping the bounds of her friendship, but she wanted to try and comfort him. So, she reached forward and gently put her hand on top of Ambrose's. "Ambrose, all I can say is that if you truly care for this girl, you need to fight for her. Have you even told her how you feel? If she knew that you had feelings for her, and if you said those things to her that you told me, perhaps she would feel differently about you and the one you think she is with."

Alec was quite off put by the fact that this man knew who he was and Alec hadn't the slightest clue about who he was. But Alec didn't have a lot of time to think about that since the man made mention of the guy's name that was in the vents right now. "So that's his name? He dropped down and nearly scared the crap out of us. But I figured he can't be bad since he was that quick and didn't kill us when he had the chance." Alec looked over at the purple man as he continued. "Which is kind of my reasoning for you too mister...?"

"Good, I'll explain myself later, but now I Believe your trying to help my friend and I refuse to stand idle while anything happens to him." With a quick shift Kai changed from his demonic form to his human, His armor covering his body once more. "Now What Do you need me to do?" He asked hefting his massive blade to his shoulder.
