"Mmhm," Liam nodded and then turned to Ethan, "Robit len...uh...chovat tvoj celo hore."
Rabid, ignoring Crow's orders, peered at the floor as they walked, identifying each bone in turn to keep herself sane...or at least marginally. She gave a sigh of something like sadness when the lights went out.
Liam immediately brightened. What a beautiful sound, that familiar clicking.
"Nice..."

Too startled by the mass of bones to reply to Liam, Ethan bent down to examine a cat skull in morbid interest.
"What happened here?"
"Evil things." Crow said simply, refusing to elaborate.
There was some grunting and the sound of things crashing in the little room, and Crow kicked out a couple boxes. They had been torn open, revealing weapons, ammo, and a few bits of old clothing.
"All of you... take a gun."
There was rustling inside the room as another box was torn open. After a few minutes, Crow came out in a slightly moth eaten outfit, a mask in one hand and the flashlight in the other. She smoothed the wrinkled clothing down, picking small bones off and looking defeated.
"Never thought this stuff would see the light of day again."
Julian picked up a gun gingerly, picking up one of the clips and loading it.
"Our lives really suck."

Liam immediately went running for the boxes, looking for the most destructive items possible and loading it quickly.
"Only sometimes," he shrugged.
Guns? Oh, s**t. Rabid reached into the box with a trembling hand, picking one up and imitating Julian in loading it. Not only had she never held a gun before...they terrified her.
"Only most of the time."

Crow looked away as Rabid picked up a gun. She felt sick at heart for what she was putting them all through.
"I'm so sorry. You won't have to fire it, I'm pretty sure. I won't let things get that bad."
Ethan removed a small gun from the box, holding it as though it would bite him. He had gone very pale, and was whispering prayers to himself in Slovak.
"I... I have never killed before." He said in a small voice. The very thought made him ill.
Julian looked at Crow, holding his gun with similar distaste.
"Crow. I've been wanting to ask you for a while..." he said, trailing off. Crow looked at him with teary eyes.
"What?"
He gulped, licking his lips and looking away.
"Have you ever killed?"
Crow looked at him for a long time before answering.
"Have you?" she replied quietly, not meeting his eyes.
Julian stiffened, wincing. Crow sighed bitterly, and tucked her weapon away.
"Let's go."
She trudged out into the bone-littered basement and back up the steps, head hanging low.

"You'd better get used to it. Especially if you're staying around us fine folk for a while," Liam nudged Ethan to try and get him moving. He lowered his voice, "and unless you want cim kuceravy chlp dama removing your various arteries, I'd keep the praying to a minimum."
"Ah, who cares?" Rabid shrugged and examined the gun, following closely behind Crow, "Some people deserve to die."

"I am sorry. I did not mean to offend her." Ethan said, looking sad. He raised a hand to the pocket that held his rosary, but made no move to open it.
"I have met no other Catholics here. I... my home is very, ah, how to say it... God-minded. But here," he waved his hands around absently, "Here, things are so different. I... I cannot help but pray. It is a comfort."
He hesitated.
"I will not do it any more."
He held his gun tightly, looking determined. He would have to toughen up.
---
It was a relief to get out of the apartment complex. Crow breathed in deeply, ignoring the cold shudders down her spine as she walked in the building's shadow. Motioning for the others to hurry up, she jogged back to the car, holding her gun and mask loosely. Dragging the mask on and over her face, she grudgingly admired the effect it gave.
"Time to visit Benjamin."

"Naw, kid, it's okay," Liam sighed and shook his head, "Remember that big dude from the room? He's Catholic. Just not around Rabid."
He began to leave the...where ever they Hell they were.
"Funfun," Rabid sighed, "Let's do it."

Wheeler
The car screeched to a halt in front of a very dingy, very old building. It had been a respectable brownstone, once - now it was a mutant of plywood and crumbling concrete, held together by sheer will alone.
"This is the place."
Julian looked out the window dubiously.
"Scenic location. I think I see a chalk outline on the sidewalk."
Crow unbuckled and leaned forward onto the wheel, trying to stave off a now-familiar sense of nausea.
"They don't strive for appearances. This isn't a designer drug flat."
Ethan peered out the window as well, looking slightly nervous. He half-glanced at Liam and shook his head, putting on an indifferent expression.
"There is a body in the gutter," He said casually. He then did a bit of a double-take, the forced calm shattered.
"Ah. There are two bodies in the gutter."
Crow made a face, shifting uncomfortably.
"Just don't look at 'em."
Setting her gun on her lap, she dragged her mask down over her face. Checking her reflection, she couldn't help but shudder at the twisted face that looked back. Getting out of the car, she beckoned for the others to follow.
"Keep your hands on your guns - but don't draw them, and don't fire unless I say so. And whatever you do - don't talk."

"Mmhm," Liam nodded and stepped out of the car, giving Ethan a pat on the back. He noted the bodies in the gutter, ready to use them to his benefit if he needed.
Rabid, trembling, shoved her gun into her pocket and crossed her arms. As a second thought, she dropped a hand to her pocket and contented herself in clinging to her elbow. This was worse than those crazy soul-stealing bastards.

The change in Crow was immediate. Her walk became slow and deliberate, and there was an air of arrogance to the way she stepped on and over the bodies, digging her heels into their decomposing flesh. Her eyes swept from one end of the filthy street to the other with haughtiness, and she held up her head like a queen.
The bouncer at the front door already didn't like this.
As Crow approached, he held up his hand and shook his head.
"I can tell you right now you -" He began, looking slightly off-put.
Crow cut him off with a glance, drawing her gun and firing once. The bullet ripped through his shoulder and sent out a spray of blood. Crow walked up the stoop and stepped over him, ignoring his screaming and pushing the door open. She snapped her fingers at the others, pointing silently for them to follow.
It was evident that Crow was long gone. Lethe was in control of the situation now. Julian followed up the steps, stunned at what he had just seen his sister do without batting an eye. It was... awful.
Glancing back at Ethan, who had turned pale again, he shrugged slightly and stepped over the screaming man, following Crow into the bowels of the building.

Rabid cringed at the screams. Sure, she'd known what Crow was capable of...but had never really seen her do anything of the sort.
Don't cry. Don't cry. Don't cry.
She followed the siblings into the building.
Stay by me, Liam ordered Ethan, if anything crappy happens, let me take care of it.
He quickly followed Rabid.

Crow shot two more people on the way down to the basement of the building - one was another bouncer, while the other was simply a girl who had gotten in her way. Her eyes were hard and cruel behind the mask, and the cold arrogance had grown more noticeable as time went by.
What's wrong with her? Why is she doing this?
Julian was reeling with horror, though he schooled his face into a neutral expression. He didn't think he could handle much more of this.
There was smoke coming out from under the door leading to the basement. As she reached for the knob, she paused and gave a half-glance over her shoulder.
"Draw your guns. Don't fire. Don't talk."
She opened the door and entered the basement. The room was packed with people, who went dead silent as they saw her face.
Cocking her gun again, Crow raised it with slow menace, and aimed at random into the crowd. She fired, and gave a laugh as a woman started screaming. The crowd of people stared at her in horror before panicking, stumbling over one another trying to escape. She fired the gun once again, roaring for silence.
"I'm looking for Benjamin Wheeler. I'm giving you five seconds to come out - after that, I will start killing people."

She scaring you too?
Liam twirled his gun expertly around his finger, cocked it, and aimed randomly into the crowd. He hated to admit it, but this was kind of fun.
He attempted to look as intimidating as possible with his small stature.
Rabid gritted her teeth against the fear and tried to steady her hands as she raised her gun to the prople around them. Something inside of her roared to be freed, but she easily supressed it.
It simply wouldn't do to start tearing out tracheas.

Quite honestly, she's scaring the s**t out of me.
Julian was seeing Crow in a harsh new light. Now that it was her killing people, it had become a lot less appealing.
"Five..."
Crow aimed the gun steadily at a man's face. He turned an ugly purple color, eyes darting around, looking for help.
"Four..."
Ethan, his gun raised, stared at Crow in fear and turned away.
"Three..."
Julian had to close his eyes. He couldn't bear to watch.
"Two..."
Crow's finger rested lightly on the trigger. Her eyes met the man's, pitiless and cold.
"One-"
The door at the back of the room creaked open, and a tired, ill-looking man stepped out. He gave Crow and the others extremely angry looks, motioning to his cellphone.
"I'll have you know you just interrupted an extremely important phone call. This had better be good - they charge ******** fifty a minute for the service."
Crow lowered her gun and lifted her mask up.
"Hello, Benjamin."
Benjamin blanched slightly, but recovered quickly. Waving them all in, he looked Julian and the others over with raised eyebrows.
"How delightful. You brought a ******** posse. Get in here - if you're going to kill me, I'd like to get a last drink in. Move it, move it."
Crow went in leisurely, trailed by Julian and Ethan.
"Nice to see you, too."
