*Listening to Lady Melaria as they entered the balcony area, she couldn't help but be taken aback by the wonderful display found before her. The table and chairs bedecked with ornamentation; the food set upon the table under covered silver platters; exotic flowers filled the porch with an intoxicating aroma complimentary of the food; and tiny lights glittered off of the silverware and place settings, as if hundreds of fireflies had been gathered and set about the porch in little glass jars. It was truely a sight to behold.

The whole presentation was beyond that of any other party she had ever attended before. Although it seemed simple in style, the effect vastly surpassed any of those which she had attended before in her life. The whole area looked rather, ethereal. She snapped to as she realized what Lady Melaria had said about making themselves at home. She unhooked her arm from the Captain as he was lead to a seat at the grand table. Jaden watched as she seated the Captain at the head of the table and then herself to the right of him. Seeing that Lady Melaria had taken the seat to the right of the Captain, she instinctively made her way over to the seat left of him. She rested her arms upon the back of the seat and looked again at the whole presentation with a bit of awe and wonderment. As she peered down the table, taking in all there was on display, she took up her right hand and pushed the curls away from her face, as well as smooth the small wrinkles from her gown and finally adjusting the heart-shaped pendant at her neck.

She listened to the Captain and Lady Melaria speak about the home in which she resides before noticing the Doctor once more. He was coming over to the table along side of the Captain as she hid the clasp of the chain behind the nape of her neck. She smiled once again at the Doctor before pulling out her chair and begining to seat herself at the table.*

He had starttled her out of her own thoughts. She felt almost naked in front of him, closing her mind, afraid he could read it with one look. Coming out of her haze she smiled at him, looking over the gardens and watched him take it all in. The wide flowers had bloomed a few weeks ago and their smell was both welcomed and overpowering during the hot days the island offered.

She watched his eyes as he asked her how she had come to be here, in the lap of luxury, in only three years. Tears threatened to rip past her happiness and spill across her cheek, but she kept them back. How was he to know that her wealth and happiness had come from grief and loss?

"It is a long, sad tale. But it does start with how I recieved my new name, my new identity."

She was about to go on when she noticed the food was being brought to the table. Taking the captains arm she led him over, promising the story in full after the main course.

Following the crowd to Melaria's home, she wandered to the very back of the dining room and stood in the corner, neither her or her parrot touching a single utensil, drop of wine or bite of food. The room was indeed magnificent, her eyes taking in everything little decoration, every little bauble on the wall. However, she made sure to be in a corner where no mirrors were. She glanced over at all the other crew members to see what they were doing, the strange girl backing up until her back was to the wall and then sliding to the floor. She hugged her knees to her chest, Tuslo crouching there as silently as if he were a stuffed parrot. The little flirtations and hopes of courtships were continuing, the strange accountant having lost her amusement by now and only feeling nostalgic as she watched.

By no means was Syn anti-social. Yet, she had no intention to sit at a dinner table where you were expected to eat and drink, the exact reasons left unsaid as she leaned her head against the wall, an almost longing expression on her face as she watched the others eat. She listened to their conversations with keen ears and a watchful eye, one hand going out, held up to her eye so that the table looked tiny and able to clutch in her hand. She let out a long sigh and seemed to shrink, although she didn't, the small woman remaining hunched in the corner away from the beautiful festivities.

Out of sight, out of mind.

*Smiling at Melaria with a bit of a put-off sigh, he shook his head.*

"No... of course not. I wouldn't expect a woman such as yourself to tell such a sad state of affairs at such a fine table; nor would I ask it of you. Though, I am rather curious about your new identity as 'Miss Melaria', my dear. I'm with child to know... so pray tell me as soon as possible,
if it dont pain you too terribley much.

Pray, let us move onto brighter shoals and make some leeway into this fine venison before us, shant we? Though our Cook, Miss Destiny sets a wonderful table and provides a fine meal, the day to day of dining at sea leaves a frightful lot to be desired... fine china and the like."

*Scanning the table, he realizes that a face seems to be missing.
Out of the corner of his eye, he spots Miss Beaumont.*

"Pardon my reach, my dears. I must fetch a fresh piece of fruit.
It's been eons since I last tasted a plump, lucious apple."

*Tossing an evily temptingly red apple in the air, he snatched it up and sat back in his chair. Turning it over and over in his hand, he admired it's texture. It was beautiful... compared to a large lump of salted pork.

Dropping his right arm to his side, he slightly tilts to starboard until he looks as though he should fall from his place. Rolling the apple across the floor in Syn's general direction, his hint was pretty clear.*

"Such generosity should never be looked down upon nor taken lightly, Miss Beaumont. Take this apple for example. Not only has it been generously placed upon this table of banquet delights, but I have now g0one out of my way to offer it to you. I could have just eaten it before your very eyes and you would have had to just watch... stare at my jouls as I devoured the wonderful beauty that is this apple. But no: this apple is yours if you'd like it. If not... at least take a seat beside the good Doctor and grace us with your presence... please."

*Sharply retaking his stance, he sits straight up in his high backed chair at the head of the long mahoganey table. Starring about the table, he smiles at the audience before him. With Miss Melaria at his right and Miss Kale at his left, he felt right honored. Such beauty about him.*

"Miss Kale. Might I ask what your plans might be as far as your interest in the 'Lady' might be?
How long might you want to stay with us?"

Her face crumpling in obvious dismay, Syn frowned and took the apple into her hands, looking at it with an expression of despair. She murmured quietly, perhaps too quietly for the Captain to hear, her usual jovialty completely missing at the moment, "Cap'n, I'm not looking down upon or taking lightly the generosity that Melaria has been so kind to offer us. I have... personal reasons. But since you asked..." She rose slowly, Tuslo flapping his wings once to regain his balance as the scruffy accountant made her way to the seat that the Captain had pointed out, feeling a little ashamed that she didn't possess any formal clothing and couldn't look as nicely dressed as the others at the table. Still, she gave a bit of a sheepish smile as she settled in, a little shorter than most everyone else and not exactly the type to stand out. She tried to keep it that way for a very specific reason, nodding and taking food whenever it was offered to her.

However, she never ate a bite of any of it, instead chopping up every bit of it in such a way that it looked like she was really eating it. She tried to look as normal as possible, looking up every so often during the conversations and nodding in agreement to whatever happened to be said, all the while terrified of someone else calling her out and accusing her of being ungrateful. Rough around the edges and partially insane she may have been, but she hated people thinking she wasn't grateful or caring. Tuslo nuzzled her shoulder once in a while as if to reassure the woman, who was in fact sweating buckets mentally.

*Aeoess was watching as the captain was admiring an apple and then passing it on to another (Syn), who...Oddly enough reminded her of a nutcracker by the way she was eating; it seemed fake and a little mechanical.*

*Looking around at everyone joyously talking and eating in such a fancy place took her mind off of her old paranoid thoughts, and off of...Whatever it was that she was really after..She then grabbed whatever food she could put on her place and began to devour it; enjoying every bite of it.*

Having taken a seat at the far end of the table, Baxter did the polite thing and just listened to the conversation and smiled. It seemed as if the Captain and this Miss Melaria had known each other very well in the past.

*Nodding in satisfaction as Syn took her seat at the table.*

"Welcome to the social crowd, Miss Beaumont."

*Chuckling at the fac that Miss Kale was unable to answer due to her mouth being full, Kurisutofa placed his hand on Midnights and smiled at her.*

"It does me good to see you, my dear Midnight. It's been far too long."

*Aeoess smiles as she watches how both old friends and new are enjoying themselves, and having a rather joyous time*

*She gets up (Hopefully unnoticed), and decides to give herself a tour of the place*

*She thinks to herself "Wow, must of this stuff must've been expensive...", and as she looks her eyes glow just a little more, After all Aeoess loved how the crew was so happy, and the fact that she was surrounded by object with more worth then she felt she had..*

*Desciding he should meet up with the captian, he goes to his bunk and picks out the nicest looking clothes he owns, and starts heading down the main road. Eventually he ends up at the manor. He stands outside wondering if he should just walk in or knock...*

**(( OOC sorry I've not been on..in the process of moving to another state))))

Destiny walked around the room, admiring the fine paintings, the beautifully arranged roses, orchids, and other flowers, the fine cherry and oak furniture, and the georgous persian rugs.

At the call for dinner, Destiny walked over to the table, and took the chair next to Syn. " Hello there. Glad to see you again. Isn't this a wonderful party? The wine is exquisite, the food superb, the companionship excellent.. What more could one ask for in a social event?"
Destiny paused to sip and savor her glass of fine wine. " There is nothing like the bouquet of a good wine. Sometimes I'm torn between drinking and admiring. What do you think Syn?"
Destiny passed a glass to Syn, who looked at it funny. "By the look on your face, something is wrong. Was it something I said?"

Smiling as the captain used a name she had not heard spoken in a long time, she nodded her agreement. "Too long, too too long." Pouring him a cup of a robust red she paid herself a favor and did the same to her cup. Breathing in the flavors of the valley grapes it felt thick on her tounge.

"How has the Lady been since my absence? I would love to exchange your adventures for mine."

Syn's face went from red to white to red in a second, then back to its normal shade, her emotions fluctuating as fast as the color of her face. She put up one hand and quickly shook her head with a cheerful, yet forced, smile, Tuslo nuzzling her head and eyeing Destiny with that odd look again. Syn put down the knife and fork, putting them aside since she hadn't been using them for real anyway. Hopefully the cook wouldn't notice this and point it out to the rest of the crew. Right now the accountant was living and faux eating in mortal fear of that, her eyes darting over ever so often to see if anyone was watching her. Not once did a drop of wine or a morsel of food pass her lips, yet a smile and fake eating motions remained, along with a healthy sense of paranoia.

"Nay nay, nothin' that ye said, my liddle tool o' Fate. Don't ye worry yer pretty head now 'bout what I do. Matter o' fact, nothin' is wrong."

*Taking the glass up in his hand, he nodded a 'Thank You, Melaria' to Midnight. Swirling the wine about in the glass, he kept having to mentally stop himself from saying that name: Midnight. Her name was Melaria now. She'd been married since she'd left his side at the Quarterdeck. Times change & people change... but not memories. That's how it would have to stay... naught but a memory. An endless waltz that had begun ages ago.

He'd been sitting on a wooden barrel full of apples. His recruitment poster had been slapped on every billboard, every tavern door, every church pew. It was widely known that 'Lucky Jack' was looking for a crew.

After a few hours of loading the stores into the hold alone, he stopped to take a rest and people-watch as the day worn on. As the sun danced across the water, a creeking of long-rotted dock planking could be heard as a beautiful woman with dark black hair and magnificent eyes came to the ship wharfside with a flyer in hand. She didn't say much aside from who she was. Her name was Midnight. Midnight Oasis.

Taking her aboard, he lead her over the gangway by the hand. For the rest of the night, they spent a wonderful time in the aft gallery cabin laughing and talking about anything and everything that arose to the table. What a wonderful laugh she'd had... the happiest he'd been in what seemed a millenia. How the night went on. He thought it would never end...

And in his mind, it hadn't. Watching the red swirls in his glass revolve in a hypnotic pattern, he tore his eyes away from his past memories and looked across the table and then to Melaria. She seemed to be hanging on her hopes of hearing of what adventures had occured since her absence.
With a smile and a small contained chuckle, his eyes brightened...*

"A woman of your years, listening to fairy tales and folk lore? Well, I suppose I could tell a tall tale or two. A story of A strange occurance aboard the good ship, the H.M.S. 'LADY WASHINGTON'..."

*Looking about the table, he seemed to loom over them.*

"A name to such a tale of legend and myth? ... 'Hellbound'."
