*she sits with her crew a while, and then just decides to go to the naval port on her own with the crew to get the new arms.*
come on lads, we've got no time to waste!

<>

*Upon crossing the threshold from the decks below, Jaden squinted and looked around. The sun started to peak around some large, puffy clouds and flood parts of the deck in radiant sunlight. She hadn't seen the ship bathed in sun quite like this. The winds lightly filled edges of the sails as the lull of serenity washed over the boat as the lady gently rocked whilest tied to the dock.

She looked at the deckhands still aboard, cleaning and loading supplies as she cleared the way for Miss Beumont to come up through the doorway from the lower decks. Miss Beumont seemed to be just as wide-eyed as any as she seemed to watch the docks where the Captain and another unusual woman stood talking before she dismissed herself before him and left down the path.

Noticing her interest in the Captain and the unknown woman, she decided that the two of them should split up, getting refreshments and sustenance to the whole crew faster.*

"You know, Miss Beumont... You seemed to have some business with the captain before I came over and was asked to have you accompany me in retrieving goodies..." She said simling. Jaden prodded her a little towards the plank to get her moving.
"The gun crew out on shore could really use the refreshments..." she looked encouragingly towards Miss Beumont before pushing her towards the gangplank one more time. She looked back to the sky and closed her eyes fo a moment before saying anything else.
"I'll be able to take care of everyone here on the boat, I believe... Now, go... take that stuff out there to the rest of the crew and the captain..." nudging her a third time to the edge of the plank, Jaden saw her fiddling with the bottles of lemonade.
"Just screw the top on tightly on those once you've finished pouring and you'll be fine... now get down there, Miss Beumont... lest you desire being swarmed by the crew upon hesitating to deliver food..." she smirked.

*And with that, Jaden turned around and walked away to also attend to the crew aboard the ship. They were, no doubt, famished as well.

She handed out the lemon cakes and lemonade to those still around to receive it. A couple people swarmed her but she took care of all of them as best she could. She handeded out a cake and lemonade to a gentleman she did not know (Mr. Ilor) but had seen him once or twice during her being in chains aboard the ship. She also handed out food to some of the others she had vaguely remembered, only by sight, not by name. Once the initial panic of food and drink were taken by those impatient souls, she started looking about for those who actually seemed to understand that work came before pleasure, or those who were out of earshot to hear the begging of crew asking for four or five cakes and multiple mugs of lemonade.

She looked about and spied the Doctor sitting on the steps that separated the quarterdeck from the rest of the deck. How she had missed him as she passed out cakes and drink earlier, she didn't know. Perhaps it was because he truely involved in reading his book. She hadn't thought about that in town. She could have pilfered a few books to take along, but didn't for some reason. This will truely be a long trip if she didn't have anything to keep herself occupied with. Shrugging her shoulders at her misfortune, she walked up to the Doctor, inadvertantly casting a shadow across him and the book.*

As the sun was blotted from his reading by a shadow. the doctor picked his head up. He could not see behind him and he didn't turn his head.

"Can I help you with something?"

Syn nodded and moved quickly down the gangplank to join the crew which was not too far away. She glanced around and saw a large, flat stone close by. Exactly like a table. Perfect. She put the satchel on one side and unpacked it (i.e: merely opened it) and put the thermos of lemonade on the other. She turned a gray eye on the crew and hollered in their direction, with a piercing whistle that threatened the eardrums, "Oi! Come and get it!" Her voice was loud enough to carry over in their direction.

She waited until the crew noticed her and stepped aside to let them attack the refreshments, moving off to the side and toward the rubble strewn streets, in the Captain's direction. Hell, she had nothing else to do and she'd like to be officially declared Purser as it was. The official document was nestled in her pocket, safe and sound unless someone set her on fire. But what were the odds of that happening?

Tuslo, not liking the jostling way that she was moving, squawked loudly and nipped at her ear. She laughed aloud and flicked him on the beak. "Calm down, Tus."

*Taken aback a bit by the response from the Doctor, she gasped a tiny bit and straightened up a little. She found herself habitually playing with a few stray loose curls, but not before she subconsciously ran her hands down her outfit to straighten it up quickly. She still had not changed whilest in Toulon when she picked up clothing in Mimfry's shop, so she knew she looked all a shamble.*

"Um...." she gulped and tried to clear her voice but instead of sounding more clear, she just sounded more nervous.
"yeah... I mean, y-yes, Doctor..." she spoke quiet and low. Realizing what she said in response to him, she quickly corrected herself,
"W-wha... no. No sir... um... I mean..." she sighed and dropped her head.

*She reached into the sling of baked goods and taking care to pull out a whole cake. She leaned down, holding it out to him whilest she stood in a way that he could not see her face behind him. Her shadow, however, showed hints of her nervous fiddling and fumbling.*

"Um here, would you like one?.... and... would you like some...ah... lemonade?" She waited for a response from the Doctor as she crouched awkwardly behind him with an outstretched hand and a lemon cake balanced in it.

I watch as the Captain gets himself to look nicer, however, from meeting the Captain in a bar not too long ago, I knew he couldv'e easily been a marked man, wanted for countless things, after all he IS a pirate. After over hearing his plans to dress up..I felt that something was going on..Like this little "get-together" could've been a trap..After all, it was a bit too fancy..and a bit too perfect.

So I obtained my weapons, and the rest of my gear and followed the captain through whatever shadows I could find..Hoping that I wasn't being followed somehow, or spotted by the captain in any way.

"You can keep the lemonade, but I'll take the cake. Thank you"

He grabbed the cake, closed his book and set it in his lap.observing her shadow, he turned around and looked at her, "Is something wrong?"

*Pushing his way through the maingate, he stopped and looked about. To the left was a large warehouse and to the right stood a long row of canvas covered guns, ranging in all shapes and sizes...

Turning to Miss Ares, who was at his heel*

"Happy G'day, Miss Ares. Now for your presents..."

*Gesturing with a bow and an extended arm through the open gate*

"Like a child in a candyshop... go crazy. You have the run of the yard.

I've looked over the weight limitations of the Lady, and have decided that we need to turn our little Shiperella into a Thirty-Gun Brig-of-War. Hqving turned a Brig into a 30 gun ship is unheard of, but we'll manage.

Therefore, what I want you to do is have the guncrew jettison the 14 guns that the Lady already has and replace them with Brand New:

- 22 Twenty-Eight's (Main Gundeck)
- 4 Long Nine's (Stern & Bow Chasers)
- 4 Rail-Mount Long Barreled Swivel Guns

Once that is finished, dump the remaining gunpowder stores that are still aboard and begin loading the new casks below within the hold. Don't forget the gun's accesories, such as the slow-matches, wadding, new rammers & primer... you know these things though, so I won't go on.

Once your Guncrew is hard at work, if you'd like you may prepare for the dinner banquet that shall be taking place at Miss Melaria's Manor."

*Smiling, he walked over to one of the guns and kicked it. The dull thud of his boot echoed throughout the empty ironcast gun. He turned to her and beamed with pride.*

"This ought to prove very beneficial."

*With that, he turned and made his way back to the ship.*

Little Omi

PostPosted: Thu Jun 08, 2006 9:06 pm

*Omi could no longer think of anything to do that would be helpful toward the maintenance of the ship. There was probably something, but she surely couldn't think of what it was. Thinking of no better option, she figured it'd be a good idea to just look around and find out where things were. If she was needed, at least she wouldn't be doing anything that couldn't be interrupted.*
PostPosted: Thu Jun 08, 2006 9:55 pm

*her eyes brighten at the look of the yard*
Yes....
*her hands rub together as the crew drools behind her. She points to the yard*
Go get 'em, boys!
*she turns to the Captain*
Thanks for the dinner offer, sir, but I don't leave my crew behind to do the work. I work with them, sir. I'm much obliged, but I have to decline, Captain.

I then notice that I haven't been detected yet, however..I was suppost to be working with the crew the maintain the ship..

I just realised that it could be easily noted that I was missing..I would have to act fast..yet carefully, as to not gain unwanted attention/punishments of any kind. (Since I have to live through it all..)

I needed to see if I can obtain whatever information I could to either prove that something is going on, or to find out for myself that it's nothing..

Then, I decided my best move was to get done with my work on the ship as early as possible, and if the captain should bring himself to any danger...He would find my dagger in the pocket of whatever coat I see him purchase for the dinner, that, and I plan to keep watch from afar, and notify the crew if or when the captain is in danger.

This idea was perfect...and not too reckless..for once, but one question went through my mind.."Would it work?"

Getting about halfway to the captain before she noticed that he was coming back in her direction, she clicked her tongue and gave her shrieking laugh, although she managed to muffle it with a hand. She took a few steps backward, hopping over rubble behind her as if she had eyes in the back of her head. She fished the document out of her pocket and rolled it up carefully, pulling a long piece of twine out and tying it securely around the parchment. She nudged Tuslo off her shoulder - despite some angry squawks and whistles - until he was flapping in the air beside her.

"Open up, Tus." The macaw obediantly opened his beak and she stuck the parchment into his mouth, wagging a finger at him strictly. "Now, if ye eat or rip this up I'll use your guts to decorate dear Miss Jaden's room. So take this to the Cap'n safe and sound, hey?" The macaw made a muffled sound from behind the paper and took off in the direction of the Captain. Syn watched him go for a moment, then headed back the way she had previously been going, having every intention of locating Melaria's home. After all, it wasn't like she had any clothes that were more formal than the ones she wore.

The parrot flew through the trees, chunks of concrete and other remains of the town before reaching the captain. Tuslo landed right in front of him, on a nearby pole that was jutting out from the ground. He squawked as best he could and appeared to move his head out as if to hand it to the captain, although the man would have to actually take the parchment from his hand. It was all too clear who the macaw belonged to.

*Kurisutofa made his way back down the lane in the direction of the ship, so as to prepare for the upcoming dinner invitation. As he strolled, he thought to himself..*

I do hope that the Crew doesn't think I'm not appreciative of all their hard work. I'm not usually one to leave my crew in the middle of a task, but I have a strict schedule to keep... even for a pirate.

Besides, the invitation was offered to them as well...

*As if to purposley interupt his thoughts, a small mahka landed upon a sign post a few feet away. Squalking, it gestured to him to take the note from it's beak.

Stooping down to the wee' birds level, the Captain plucked the note from Tuslo's mouth and unravelled the twine. It read:

Quote:
Certificate of Skills and Other Things of Notation

Issued to: Syn De Beumont

Position: Head Teller in the Royale Bank of Toulon

Skills: Quite good with numbers and accounting, quick thinking, memorizes everything almost immediately, and is very agile.

Things Which Might Be a Problem: While she is quick witted, she doesn't stop to think over what she says and usually speaks whatever is on her mind. Has a tendency to be sarcastic or uppity. She should be watched carefully because of her fascination with pirates.

*Looking over the resume of sorts, he thinks quickly to himself and makes a personal note to rank her as Ship's Purser & Personal Clerk. Removing a quill and a small bottle of ink from his pocket, he jots the note down on the back of the small piece of parchement. Putting away the quill and ink, he then holds the silver bosun's whistle, that he usually wears around his neck but hidden in an inner vest pocket, to his lips.*

TOOOOO TWEE TOOO

*As the high pitched squealing of the pipe echoes off the surrounding foothills, the sound returns to him that he'd been waiting for. The heavy flap and wings and the familiar snap of Morgaine's wing as she tacked and prepared to land.

As her talons dug snuggly into his shoulder, the Captain reroled the tiny piece of parchment and tied it with the twine. Handing it to the black raven that sat upon his shoulder, the raven took it in her jouls, but then quickly dropped it back into his hand. This had never happend before...*

"Oh... I get it. Your jealous. Is that it? This is strictly business.
Tuslo and I hardly even know each other. Isn't that right, Tuslo?"

*The tiny makah nodded in an odd fashion and with a short series of squawks, then began to clean itself under the wing.

Morgaine Celeste seemed to be quite satisfyied with the explanation, for she nustled against the Captain's neck and retook the message by way of grabbing it with her talons and adjusting it to where she could grab it with her beak. Looking into Kurisutofa's eyes, Morgaine had said her apologies, scratched his palm in a 'so you remember' blood mark and released his shoulder. As she drew her talons underneath her, he glared at Tuslo. She now had competition...*

"Please take the note to my cabin, if you'd be so kind, Miss Celeste."

*With a silent agreement, the Raven then took to the skies and was gone.*

"Well... that was odd."

*Bowing to the Makah*

"You've served your Master well, my dear Tuslo. Back you go."

*Offering a bit of hard biscuit he had in his pocket, he tipped his hat to the small bird and continued along his path back to the Lady Washington.*

*Pushing the scuttlehatch open, Captain Kurisutofa appears on deck. Looking about, he spotted Mr. Ilor on the Quarterdeck near the taffrail.*

"Mr. Ilor! Just the man I wanted to see. Our dear kind friend Miss Midnight... oops, I meant to say Miss Melaria has invited the Crew to her manor for a dinner party. I had expected all my Officer's to attend, but sadly Miss Ares has declined. Therefore, I had rather hoped that you might get into your best dress attire and join me in half and hours time right here on the Quarterdeck. I'm going to go below and address the good Doctor. I'm sure he'd be more than willing to socialize with someone other than a roughian crew of draggle-toothed pirates. Am I not correct?"

*With that, Jack made his way below to find if the Doctor was in or if he might of left on one of his wonderings about the shoreside.*

A bath was drawn in the mist of chaos going on in the kitchen. A silk screen was placed in front of the tub to create a nook in a corner for her privacy and the porciline radiated heat as she slipped out of her town dress and into the steamy water. Her muscles tightened at the heat and then slowly relaxed, allowing her to slip fully underwater.

Coming to the surface for air, the water ran in droplets across her face. Her hair splayed out in all directions like a black, inky octopus with her curls like tenticles reaching for the white porciline. She could hear the frantick instructions from her cook to a few of the maids roused from their quarters. The smells of the food being prepared made her mouth water and stomach growl in anticipation and the banging together of pots and pans muffled the sound of her own sigh of pleasure. It had been ages since she had taken a hot bath and the feeling of being surrounded by water once again made her homesick for the sea.

Glancing out a high window she checked the position of the sun to see how much time she would have to dry and dress before the captain and his crew arrived. Judging that she had already spent too much time in the now cooling water she proceeded to scrub her skin pink and then stepped from the tub. Wrapping herself in a towel with her hair hanging wet on her back she checked around the screen before walking through the kitchen and up a small stair to her chambers.

Shutting the door she laid her towel out on a rug close to the windows where the sun peaked through and casted a warm rectangular glow. Picking up a comb she sat down in the warm light and gently started working through her hair and letting the sun dry her skin.
