What the hell is an Avenger?
He thought to himself. It didn't matter. She didn't sound like the kind of person he'd usually run with. Patrolling Gotham.. What a joke.
"My name doesn't matter. But if we're gonna be using aliases, you can call me the Red Hood."
He leaned over the edge of the building, looking down at the skid marks in the alley left by the car he was crouching on. "As for my actions.. all I'm wanting are some answers."
He was cooperating. This woman was the only person who could possibly answer his questions.
"What the hell happened to Gotham?"

The blood pooling made Edmond very aware that this Rosie was not one of the three he had encountered. Two of the ones he met would not have been effected much by the gunshot and the third didn't get out of the lab, well he thought she didn't there was no way to be sure. The Count lowered his bow and returned the arrow to the quiver before approaching Rosie. He knelt down and removed his glove, which he pocketed before grabbing her leg. It may have seemed mean to do and it probably hurt but he needed to apply pressure to the wound. "What abilities did the lab test on you? What can you do to help right now?" He asked calmly, unaware of how little she might have actually known.

Rosie was only partially aware that someone was near by the time the Count got to her. The pain in her leg jolted her attention back rather quickly though. "L.... lab? I'm not one of the altered mes" she replied. Her tone quiet still. "That... that's the others Mommy and me have been looking for. I can't fuze back together with them. The.... new powers make them too different." she said, then moved her hands back to steady herself. "I can... I can phase through things and fuze to things..."

Firestar humphed with a slight Jersey accent shining though, gesturing with her hands, "What the hell happened to Newark?! That interdimensional being with a god complex merged our worlds together in a horrid mish-mash. Obviously, you're from Gotham -- you sound like somewhere on the Southside... maybe the Barrows. Anyway, this 'X' character took the center of your Gotham and replaced most my Newark. Since Gotham's city center is here, what's left of Newark got absorbed by Gotham. Yeah, still sore about that one.
Where my home was is now .... some whacky asylum on a island probably designed by that authentic wacko H. P. Lovecraft! Angelica suddenly stopped her rant by pinching her nose, " ... Sorry... Venting... Not your fault. I take it you just 'arrived' to this happy reality?"

The Count looked around for something to use that would stop the bleeding and in the end he settled on using the glove he had taken off. He tied it around her leg tightly and then slowly lifted Rosie off the ground bridal style. "I know where the lab is. I will show you and your mother when we get her back, but you have to give me answers first. Who are the clones? Why are you looking for the lab that I intend to destroy?" The Count inquired as he carried Rosie down the alleyway. He couldn't leap from building to building with her and he couldn't take her back to his office because he didn't trust her. He couldn't just drop her off at the hospital because he needed answers. So instead Edmond took Rosie in the direction of the place he had first met Emily. Not the most conventional hospital but he figured he would receive less questioning if he went to the man who had sewed shut the back of a girl thrown through a mirror without question.

He raised his eyebrow underneath his helmet at the woman's attitude. A smirk crossed his face as she spoke of Arkham. It was a little humorous to hear her unfortunate home being replaced by the nut-house of Gotham. He kept listening as she revealed who was responsible for the universal shift, X.
He crossed his arms and slightly looked down. "Gotham has never been a 'happy reality'.."
He looked back up at the flying, burning woman. "These empty streets are usually crawling with thugs, and by meeting you and those two love birds, I'm assuming we aren't the only ones here..." He said, implying a question that he wants to know if there are others like him and her.

"Oh yeah, that's for sure. Penguin is still 'in like flint' over at the Iceburg Lounge. Joker's on the loose, and GCPD spotted him somewhere in this neighborhood. And of course.. they loose. I actually wonder if GCPD is supposed to be a nickname for the 'Keystone Cops.' Anyway, I've been getting back into the swing of things since coming back from stopping that Black Lantern threat," Firestar took a breath and glanced at the city skyline behind Jason, "And your villains are far more twisted than the ones I'm used to -- just as ruthless, but more twisted. Most of the villains I have to deal with usually have some connection to the Kingpin in New York, Silvermane, or ... the Green Goblin who's almost as nutty as the Joker. I do know that there was someone who either was Batman or is pretending to be Batman had been taking out gangsters.... most recently with a tank."Angelica took a long look at Red Hood before continuing, "I get the impression that you're a bit of a bad boy, but you're trying to help people."

Red Hood didn't hear half of what she said after she mentioned the Joker. Just hearing his name could make his blood boil.. He snapped back into it when she mentioned Batman using a tank.
"No.." He replied, looking away from Firestar. "Batman hates using anything lethal... and ironically.. that will be his downfall someday."
She went on about the impression he made on her; how he was a 'bad boy'. Cute vernacular. "I'm fixing what Batman can't. He gives himself limits on what he can do. And because of those limits..." He looked her dead in the face. "He created me."

"Mmmh.... The clones are my duplicates..." the little one replied. Normally she wouldn't be so open about herself or her family's business, but the blood loss was making her tired. "When mommy first made me, she had me show off my duplication powers. Then had the spot man show off his powers and my duplicates went all over the place. Just... just supposed to spy on stuff and let mommy know when we all got back together." she said, nestling her head against his shoulder. "But she got busy, and a lot of me got lost. She found me and has been taking care of me. Found another one of out on the streets... but there was something wrong with her. She wasn't exactly like me anymore... I couldn't fuze back together with her. The other me didn't remember much, but mommy seemed to be angry when she read her mind.... said we had to find the rest of me and then find the lab where they were experimenting on the other me."".... gonna... bring the earth down on top of it and everyone inside or something she said..."

Edmond listened to the girl as he turned around the corner and continued walking down the block. He was trying to remember where the hospital had been but he had used the back entrance and never seen the front, however he would remember the area in general. "Well then once you are all better we will have to go and find your mother. I know where the lab is and I am working on finding out who funds it. If we work together we may both achieve our goal sooner than expected. Of course I will have to find the clown again though which shouldn't hard when my friend gets back." The Count felt like at this point he was talking to himself but he figured it would make Rosie feel better if she believed he would find her mother unharmed.

Angelica kept her eyebrow arched upward regarding Jason, "That really sounds like a personal issue there 'Red Hood'. Angst much? At least you seem more lucid than the Punisher." Firestar gave an involuntary shudder and made a long sigh, "Anyway, if you want, I can help you get your bearings. And maybe we might be able to better at protecting this city than our 'Keystone Cops' or your 'limited Batman' -- assuming we don't frighten the next pair of star-crossed lover finding a place to 'park'." The flame-trussed heroine gave Red Hood a simple shrug inferring that it was completely up to him.

All that attitude she had interested him. She would make an interesting partner to work with, and she seemed talkative enough to enjoy having her company. However, he was skeptical about her. It would not be a fun conversation if she decided to nag him about how he handles his enemies, that is, if she was one of THOSE heroes.
He let out a small sigh, and let his guard down. "Alright. I suppose you can tag along. I always thought about having a sidekick anyway. But just don't get in my way." Red Hood was actually a little glad she wanted to partner with him, contrary to what he was expressing to her. He turned and started walking, expecting her to come with him. "Alright 'Firestar'," He put a little extra emphasis on her name in the same way she did with 'Red Hood'. "Where do we start?"

The little one nuzzled her head against Edmond's arm. "Can they... can they find her quickly?" she asked, groggy. "Momma said... if Joker was angry at her still.... he was dangerous. Would.... kill her. Kill us..."

"That's not up to me, but I promise this, I am no Batman, if I find your mother dead, the man who killed her will share her fate." Edmond said. It was certainly not something that was encouraging. The thought of someone failing to help her mother couldn't be a good thought for Rosie, but the Count was being honest. He couldn't save everyone, only avenge those he failed.

The little one frowned as he spoke. She didn't want to even think of such a thing... but she knew it was a possibility. She also knew that, as long as Gossamer had something left to live for, a permanent death wouldn't be a factor. Only died when she actually wanted to, and she hasn't had a want for that yet. Not many people knew that though... the only reason she did was because of how she was created. Still... this man didn't need to know that. If he was offering vengeance for her... and he had the means to do so... why discourage it? The only thing she knew of that man was what Gossamer had told her, and now the fact that he kidnapped her mother after clocking her repeatedly with a gun and then shot her and left her to die in the streets. Perhaps she was her mothers daughter... or perhaps something like this was normal for such a feeling, but.... she didn't think the Joker deserved much sympathy from her at this point.
