Lauvel frowned, but nodded. "Alright then. I'll be fine on my own legs, but please lead the way." He said, gesturing to her deferentially, as she knew the way far better than he did, this being his first time in this place.

Shinn could feel Shera start to cry and picked her up off his back, embracing her in a warm hug. "Of course I'm scared Shera. I don't want anything bad to happen either," he said to his sister, "but Papa, Auntie Shana, Auntie Mazzia, and all the other grown-ups here always say to never let the fear get the better of you. Bad things happen, but we'll still come out better in the end." Shinn nuzzled his sister reassuringly. "If we stay strong, the bad people will never get the better. We're all here to protect each other."

Logain nodded. "I still have my own magics and abilities, though hopefully, they won't need to be used," he said, before stepping through the doorway slowly. He raised his arms slowly, with his hands open , revealing his palms as gesture to show he meant no harm, which he did not anyways. "Please, we have no intention of having unnecessary struggle. We merely wished to discuss a few things regarding events of a few years prior, the surroundings that have been placed around us is to prevent a misinterpretation of our actions, though it might be to late for that anyways," Logain explained to Kayla, hoping it would allow for the inquiry to remain civil.

Miluiel nodded to Lauvel before she turned around and began to jog steadily, but only fast enough for her companion to keep up. She didn't want to leave him behind. Sure it would have been faster had the young elf been able to suck up his pride and go for a ride, but it would be alright in the end, assuming something did not happen to them as they rushed through the forest and towards the camp. Routinely she checked over her shoulder to see that the elf had not fallen behind. Each time she was happy to see he was keeping pace quite well.

Wrapped in the warm embrace of her big brother Shera felt safer. She turned her small snout inward and rubbed her head against his fuzzy chest. Where would she be without him. She nodded. "Yes Shinn," She agreed softly. "We must stick together." Warm tears still leaked from the sides of her eyes, but she knew they must hurry to the meeting hall. "We should go." She said softly. "Papa, and momma will be looking for us. They will worry if we aren't there." She knew it was well as her brother did. She did not need to tell him that. "Let us go brother." Shera said and sniffed softly. She turned around in Shinn's arms and spotted a figure racing towards the hall they were bound for. "Papa! She exclaimed at the sight of her father.

"This place also rejuvenates the body as sleep and food do, so you won't be drained from having your sleep interrupted. I also apologize for the magic, the only other alternative I had was, while more pleasant, also more invasive" Alunn supplied.

Azrael stopped at Shera's cry and went to his children. "There you two are." He said, relieved to see them, embracing them in his arms. "I am happy to see you two unharmed. Your mother is off getting our guest, we should get to the Long House, I'd like to get the meeting started as soon as possible. Follow close little ones." He said to them as he started to move off, but at a pace that they would both be able to follow him easily.

Shinn nodded to Shera. "C'mon, we should follow after papa." He said.

Luavel kept up, close to Miluiel. They were now back in the more familiar area of the village, and headed toward the building on the hill that he had been in earlier. "If you don't mind my asking this, what has transpired?" He inquired curiously, but cautiously. It seemed like a matter of grave import.

In the less dense areas of the forest, a group of human soldiers made a final check of their equipment and the position of the sun. They were headed out to investigate the area a scout had come across earlier, citing this suspicious location as a potential link to the illusory monsters that had driven off the majority of the Bedaian army that had been assembled, ready to battle the wretched Saidon force they had trekked from far away Bedaius to combat. The humiliatingly deceptive tactic had been proven by spies to have been the result of a third party, one not known to Bedaius or Saidous, and likely the work of some local group meddling. It was most likely ornery outlaws with a mage among them, seeing as the nearest village declared to know nothing and professed the expanses of forest cursed, plagued with ferocious beasts.

One among this scouting party was a weary young man, shivering from cold, unaccustomed to these regions. His name was Canor, and his plight was as stark as the cold that made his teeth chatter. I can't believe anything could live in these parts. I've never been anywhere so continually cold... and those villagers said that its about the start of spring up here. Hah! He thought miserably as he began to march along with the group through the wilderness. He had hoped the outbreak of war would have changed his plight, but so far he had only found fear and bowl emptying terror in the battles he had blundered through and managed to live.

Back at his home, his mother had fallen gravely ill after his father's death, and he had no choice but to work multiple jobs to ensure that his mother got medicine, and food got on the table for himself and his younger brother and sister. The call for conscripts was a once in a lifetime opportunity, battles had previously been fought solely by the Parivir, an order of warriors who had stood as protectors. He hoped against hope to prove himself to a Parivir in battle and be taken in as an apprentice, and open the door for a better life for his family. That hope was dashed quickly in his first battles, he couldn't stand the double feelings terror and bloodlust, but he couldn't turn back. The war dragged on and agreements between the two waring nation agreed to preserve peace by holding the wars in other lands, victor gaining resource and colony rights. They turned death into a game, and he was to be shipped off to play in it. The horror caused his mother to give up her ghost, leaving him alone to care for his siblings, forcing them to have to travel with him as part of the tag-along caravan to stay close.

Now stuck in this foreign wilderness, he knew he had to survive for his family's sake, but he wasn't sure how much he could take. I was doomed one way or another I guess, he thought bitterly, but coming down to it, I would preferred to be doomed in the warm desert sands of home, instead of these heavens-cursed hinterlands. At least at home I could dream. The woods began to grow thicker, and a breeze chilled him to the bone, despite the studded leather armor and the wool clothing worn beneath it.

Shera raced up to her father and jumped into his arms. She was still shaking with worry and fear as her father lifted her off the ground. She nodded quickly, having nothing really to say. Padding along she tried to keep up with her father, even to the point of nearly being underfoot as they traveled on towards the long house.

“They have found something, the mark of a human army, in a cave nearby. This meeting has been called to discuss a plan of action.” Miluiel said quietly to Lauvel. “The humans are near, and generally they don’t react well to us.” She said sadly. Her heart was racing, just how far away were they? She took a few bounding leaps up the hill before she reached its crest where the long house waited for them. It appeared they were the last ones to enter.

Lauvel nodded and said, "I see." He broke into a run to keep up with Miluiel and scrambled up the hill. "You are quite wise to call everyone together so quickly." He said, catching his breath lightly.

Azrael stopped in front of the Long House and waited for his children to catch up. He knelt down and took his daughter into his arms. "I am so sorry little one. I don't wish to worry you, and I didn't mean to rush you so much, but this is important. I need to you and your brother to be strong."

Shinn stopped close to his father and waited for him to go in. He would wait to have him go in. "We will Papa." He said softly.

Miluiel looked around apologetically. "I am sorry my friend." She said quickly. "I did not mean to move so quickly. Will you be alright?" She asked softly before they entered the long house.

Shera bounded forward to her father and snuggled against him. She felt a thrill run through her when she felt her father lift her up into his arms. She nodded slowly in response to her father's words. "But papa, what does it mean? Are we going to have to leave here?" She asked sadly. After a moment Shera nodded too, "Yes papa, we will be strong." She promised.

Kayla calmed slightly thanks to the open nature and the fact she saw these two when she was invited to stay in the tent to rest. Neither of the, seemed aggressive but she still couldn't help but feel uneasy about them wanting answers to things from a few years ago. After all she does not remember much beyond a few years ago and what she does is heavily dependent on who she...absorbed in that time period. Not that she was keen on anyone knowing the nature of her curse. Until now she has never met anyone that wanted to ask her about the past and wasn't sure why they want to ask.

"Alright then. I don't know how much help I can be about a few years ago though. You see I came from the north and I do not remember being down here before." Kayla said calmly as she kept both of them in sight. She didn't like the feeling of being here even if the place was benefiting her. It was like she was a trapped animal in cage being observed by hunters. "So ask your questions and let me return where I belong."

Lauvel smiled and stood straight. "I am fine. You need not worry about it. A run was good for me," He said with a chuckle. When they entered the Long House, a small shiver ran down his spine, though he hid it well. Lauvel knew that these werewolves were not responsible for what had happened four years ago, how peaceful they were toward him, but the incident was still left deep scars. The yellow and red pairs eyes in the room showed no harm, all were stoic or concerned not hostile, and that did wonders toward keeping calm.

Azrael frowned , he knew he could not lie to his daughter, or anyone. Such an act would be criminal. "We may have to, Shera. I don't want to leave any more than you do, but what is most important in the end is our survival and keeping together." He hugged her tighter, his engulfing her comfortingly. "Even if we leave, I promise that we will return one day. I love you so very much Shera, and you too Shinn. We need to decide what is best for all of us." It pained Azrael that he could not protect this place for his tribe, but it was the tribe that was their true home, not the location, however much memory was invested.

Logain sighed. "I am sorry to have to hold you to such inconvenience, but we would like to discuss a particular incident four years ago, in a town not too distant from this place." He stated, coming to the crux of the matter, figuring it would be better to get to it sooner than later. "You would have been in contact with a healer named Shera, and an angel by the name of Celeron." Logain said, giving her a base to work from.

Goosebumps ran over her skin at the mention of the two she considered like parents long ago. Did he know what happened to them? Was this strange environment because they knew of her sins? She knew lying wouldn't help if they even had a hint about her connection to them.

"I did meet them a long time ago. Four years ago I found myself being attacked and the two of them saved me. Even though I was young and had no memory of my past but they inspired me to help others when I got older." Kayla said as truthfully as she would say. If they asked about where they were now she could answer that to but without her revealing how they both perished.

Shera looked up at her father as he spoke. She finally felt safe for a single moment as his warm arms wrapped warmly around her. But the feeling did not last long. Slowly the cold, icy fingers of fear were wrapping around her. She nodded. “I love you too papa.” She said softly and snuggled against her father’s warm chest. She sniffed softly. “But I don’t want to leave.” She complained.

Miluiel followed along behind Lauvel into the long house. She looked around at all of the furry wolf bodies assembled. It did appear that everyone was there. Her tired eyes searched the faces that had glanced back at her as she entered. At the front of the room she spotted her husband and her children. He seemed to be consoling them, especially Shera. She could only imagine how scared her daughter must be if her own heart was racing. Slowly, and carefully she moved her way through the crowd to her beloved family. “I think we are all here now dearest.” She said softly as she approached them. “I found Lauvel, he is here now too.” She smiled down at her children and hugged Shinn who was closest to her. Shera was wrapped in her father’s arms after all.

"Shera, none of us want to leave here. This place has provided us with shelter and memories, we are all attached to it in our hearts," Azrael said to his daughter, "But you must understand, if these outsiders mean harm to us, our only chance is to leave. If I could fight them off, scare them away for you, I would do so without hesitation. However, I can't see that helping our chances. I want you and Shinn to be safe, that is my highest desire, but if these outsiders strive for violence, then staying here would threaten your safety, and I couldn't bear that." Azrael explained this his children, hurting as the words came out. "I need you to be strong, as we all need to be."

Shinn snuggled against Miluiel when she hugged him. He didn't want leave either, and the very thought of these arrogant outsiders taking the place he had been born and raised away from made him very upset. He understood his father's words however, and would be strong.

Veral and Mazzia stood among the crowd, patiently awaiting Azrael's address. Mazzia was greatly concerned with the situation, and had not had the chance to ask Shana what this was about. She prayed it was not too bad, because she had recently realized she was pregnant, and though she had been hiding it well, she didn't want Veral to find out before they officially made their life-bond. He had adapted well to the Garoh Tribe's culture, and knew if he found out before they were bonded, he would feel extremely rejected. A male in the Garoh Tribe could not claim father-ship unless the female they mated with accepted him, and she did want him to feel unloved. She needed to get her brother to bond them soon.

Shana stood in front of the group, her fur was braided and plaited with beads, bones and feathers. She was fully prepared to fight if it came to it. "Alpha!" She called out to her brother. "What has occured?" She asked, though she was well informed of the matter, their were plenty among the tribe that only knew things by word of mouth.

Azrael patted Shera on the back reassuringly. "It'll be okay." He said to her before placing her down and nudging her gently to Miluiel and Shinn. "Go on. Wait with your mother and brother." He said before standing and turning to the rest of the Tribe. "My sisters and brothers," he began, raising himself to full standing height, "we are faced with a grave issue. Outsiders, two human armies, have passed through the borders of the forests intent on making battle with each other. I have no doubt that they wish to fight for control of the resources, and while they fight will have no concerns with ignorantly damaging that which lies around them. We must decide what we as a pack must do from here." He informed them all. The assembled tribe immediately broke out into chatter as they processed the information.

Logain nodded and smiled. "Granted, they were very noble, and we have found that most who have encountered them attest to that nobility of character. Case in point the werewolves who inhabit these forests." His smile faded slightly. "However, not long after taking you along on their further travels, the appear to have hit a snag. They encountered a winged figure, which resulted in a small battle, and the escape of the winged figure. we encountered them as the church after this occurred... but you were not among them when we came upon the scene."

"Sorry...That was four years ago and I was still rather young then. I am not sure where I was." Kayla said looking down. It was not a total lie in that the madness that claimed her made her do things she would never do. She owed them both for everything they have done for her. "Are you wondering why a ten year old girl was not at a scene where violence broke out?"

It seemed the man was a lot closer to the truth then Kayla was comfortable with him being. Her eyes began to glisten as tears began to run down her cheeks. "If I could have helped them at any time I would have helped them." she said saying the truth but not explaining exactly why.

Miluiel had just entered the conversation. She listened quietly to her husband, nodding as she snuggled against her dearest son. “Both of us would fight till you two were safe.” She added into the conversation between her children and their father. She could see the pain in her husband as he spoke to the children. She moved closer to him with Shinn in her arms. She snuggled against him reassuringly. “The truth hurts sometimes. Neither one of us, none of us in this room, want to leave our home Shera. But it won’t be our home after we have left. Your home, little one, will be where ever we are. Your home is where you are loved, and where you feel comfortable. It may not be like here, but we will do whatever we can to make it home, wherever we might go.

Shera continued to watch her father’s face. She nodded gravely in understanding, even though she did not like it. “Okay papa.” She said softly. Looking over at her mother she heard her words, and that made the frightened pup feel a little better. She was upset, however, to feel the warm arms of her father setting her down on the ground. He nudged her towards her mother. Shera looked around at her father, seeing it was time for him to speak to the tribe. She hurried towards her mother and Shinn and snuggled deeply between the two. She was thankful her mother was in wolf form, this helped to warm the shivering pup. She was not exactly cold, but the whole situation left her feeling very empty and confused.

Miluiel accepted her child into her loving arms. With Shinn wrapped in one arm, and Shera in the other she felt a little better herself. A little better, but not much. She listened to her husband speak to the group, and when the long house broke out into yelps and upset chattering voices she remained quiet. She searched the room for familiar faces, and watched each for their own reactions.

Azrael patiently awaited for the din to die down a bit before continuing. "We are fortunate for the intervention of capable wanderers, who drove them off temporarily, but that won't last long. Even now they could be regrouping to engage each other, and I am sure that they won't be appreciative of anyone who might have been responsible for delaying them." He said to the assembled tribe.

"What do we know of these outsiders?" Inquired an altogether calm, but tense voice, belonging a brown furred female, who was the mother of Izual and Lunalia. "I have no doubt that the armies are massed by humans, but who leads them? These could be Angelic machinations. They certainly seem be throwing their weight around these days, now that that damned war is over. They're just coming around pretending that people like us who were caught up in one Grace or another owe them reparations, as if they won the war." The gray and white furred male who stood beside her, her husband turned to say something to her nervously, but she snapped at him, betraying the extent of her tenseness, and the male werewolf backed down deferentially. Izual and Lunalia could be seen standing beside their father, with worried expressions on their faces.

Mazzia raised herself up higher, wishing inwardly that she shared a size more along the lines of Shana or Azrael. "We can't do anything if we don't know what we are truly faced with. While it might be safe to make an assumption, especially with the way this is aligned toward us, but we also run the risk of making things worse by acting on those assumptions. We need to know more!" She said, exasperated that this was happening at the worst possible time, not helped by how her energy was not what it was normally.

Veral raised an arm up to Mazzia's furry shoulder to comfort her, an act that was ackward to execute, given how much shorter Veral was than the werewolves gathered about the Long House.

Shana snarled, counter to her sister. "While we would be better off with that luxury, we don't have it! I'd go out right now to gather every bit of knowledge of what we are faced against, but what if they have trained magic users with them, they could spot us a mile off or more in the dark. Or what if what Nieza is more on the mark and their are warring angels among them or leading them. They'd put aside all their differences right there just to hunt us! We can't just pretend the world has forgotten about us and judged as extinct!"

Azrael barked loudly to gather attention, "Calm down! We are not a pack of mangy wild dogs! Do not forget who we are!" Azrael's words caused the crowd to fall silent. "We have among us another visitor, this one an elf sent to us by Talithan. He has more information about these outsiders. Lauvel, please tell us what you know," he said, gesturing toward the elf, who had been trying, rather successfully, to remain inconspicuous.

Lauvel swallowed and loosened his collar, as the red and yellow eyes of the tribe moved onto him. "Ah, uh, yes. Lord Talithan did bid me to warn you of their approach, I arrived too late to forewarn of it, to my utmost regret," He said, keeping his voice calm and even. "From the information that my Lord has on them, they are not led by any Angels, nor does he believe that these groups have ever been affiliated with them." The tension in the room seemed to lighten a degree, but it did dull the seriousness that remained. "They come from two Kingdoms far to the south, located around desert and coastal regions. They are mostly if not all humans, though a few tribes of grell might have followed them out of the desert." He spoke the word Grell with tinge of disgust. Grell, known also as Grunge Elves, where violent and savage nomads who largely stuck around the deserts and other desolate locations, and were in a state of disassociation with most other elven-kinds and in perpetual war with the subterranean Dark Elves. Miluiel would know this as well as he did.

"These kingdoms regard the northlands uninhabited, and generally have never been in knowing contact with werewolves," Lauvel continued, "however that ignorance could be just as problematic. These armies are not particularly large, but considering that most of the Nations north of the deserts they hale from are still recovering from the War of the Graces, they are not being impared. They have ignored these weakened States, for whatever reason, and I suspect want to establish colonies in the distant northlands like this to gather resources. Apart from that we don't have any relevant knowledge." Luavel finished his eyes nervously examining the tense crowd.

Shinn suppressed his urge to shout or cry. "I know," he whispered to his mother, "everyone always says, 'the best thing you can say to another is the truth.'" Shinn was using a form of an important saying among the Garoh tribe.
