I walk just as quickly as before over to the exit of the tunnel, not entirely caring that this was turning into a wild goose chase. I really didn't want to lose the only person I was getting along with in here...

"Thank you... what was your name?" I say to the mage providing me shade. I turn over to Leina, who seems to be fretting over Hiroto. "Just give up on him... you won't do his sacrifice any good by staying here and getting caught. If he's alive, all you'll do is give those soldiers a way to find and kill us." I say, trying to avoid a harsh sounding voice. "He died a warrior's death. in our situation, there is not greater honor. He gave his life to help us."

Leina:
The tunnel is too caved in; you can only go about three yards in. If he's alive, he's on the other side of the rubble.

I look at Leina with an expression of pure despair and shame.
"L...Leina...I..."
I start off with a weak, quivering voice.
"I didn't mean to hurt anyone...except for those stupid soldiers. I..."
I pull my claws, balled up, to my mouth, as I try to gather my bearings and find the words to say. I walk up to Leina, nearly shaking and with watery eyes as I say,
"I...I'm so...so sorry...I'm so sorry...I'm..." I bow my head in pure distress, my soul burdened with possibly killing someone by accident, killing someone I didn't want to...
I look over at the winged girl to distract myself. I could try to shade her from the sun, but...my own black feathers are absorbing much heat...

I look at the caved in tunnel almost dumbfounded... Then I heard Layla's comment, I turned to her with a slight expression of annoyance. "I may not have known the guy very long, but he saved my life when those soldiers did find and try to kill me. And if he is dead..." I glance back to the tunnel, really knowing he was... "warrior's death or not, it's all just death. I should know... Honor or not, he's gone from here." I walk off to the edge of the group and decide to reorganize my backpack that I had received in the beginning as well as clean off my sword from the earlier battle with the soldiers.

After the darkness of the tunnel, coming out to the sun makes me feel warm and somewhat sleepy. "Irene... are you getting the urge to just find a place to lay down under the sun for a few hours? I sure am...." I say in a dreamy tone.

"People will die. We all might die. But you don't do his memory any good by letting it hold you back. Accept his gift and his sacrifce. If you truly know, then you should realize that a persons death is often as important as their life. There's a reason heros are honored for dying. They make their death mean something. They make their death helpful to those who are still living. They give people a reason to hope and aspire. They prove that even in the face of absolute despair, in a situation that literally strips you of everything you have, it can be bent into something great." I say in a solemn tone to Leina. I fold one of my wings over to my front to block out some light.

Leina:
You find that the contents of your backpack haven't shifted much, and are still in a decent placement.

Nyx:
Irene nods before yawn.
"That would be nice..." she replies.

My mind jolts back to the reality of our situation and I whine in disappointment. "We can do that later. We need to find a place to stay tonight."

After I had looked through my things in my backpack, I registered that the Raven Girl i had seen earlier... Branwen?... was right in front of me and apologizing... I quickly look up to her and tilt my head in curiousity. "Wait, what are you sorry for?" My brow furrows in concern and thoughtfulness as I try to remember what else she said. I decide to ignore Layla... What does she really know about death? She doesn't deal with it as a livelihood...

"The angel-lady said her house is close by," Irene says.

"I am Apollo Lysander." I reply to Layla. "I don't believe I ever caught your name either. And if the sunlight bothers you that much, I could lend you my mask and hood; I have no real need for them." I add.

Willow, glad that they were ignoring her, walked a little off from the others before seating, her hands fell and rested in her lap 'Father, please, I beg of you, grant me a little more of your power, I must grow stronger. Please grant me something, anything, just make it helpful' she knew lord death had little time for her, but after her last battle she knew she had to try, brute strength wasn't enough, not anymore 'Please father, or once hear my plea'

I take note of Leina's silence, not sure what to make of it. "I've had plenty of my ancestors die in order to ensure what I have now. They gave their lives so that I can have so much greater things then they did. If you think that is nothing, then you are truly a pathetic person. Never discount the worth of a sacrifce." I say to her somewhat sternly. I then turn to Apollo and nod politely. "Thank you... you truly are a gentleman. You sure you don't mind?" I ask. I then realize I forgot to answer his question. "I'm Layla, nice to meet you!" I reply in a ligher tone.

Willow:
You hear a voice in your head:
I don't have time for this... Ghuran replies. If you truly need it, get your sorry a** back to the tunnel. I'll get to you once I finish with this damned boy.
