Yup, in the Discussion of Geisha/Japan Forum. Everyone in each okiya, their respected okiya, can NPC the okiya mother until someone wants to be the okiya mother. Any major decisions in the okiya should be brought up to the active geisha in the okiya.

How long does it normally take to be placed into an Okiya?

it depends because there are only two or few people that grade the tests and they are not as active as they should be *cough cough*. It took me two weeks to get sorted.
and yes.....people do answer questions....lol

I'm sorry for the delay girls, but we (the present mods) have been very busy with family, school and work. I'll sort you out, however, with the changes under way so the okiya you're currently in may or may not change.

I was wondering...I haven't posted in the guild for a long time (I had to get my personal life straightened out). I used to be a maiko in the Mizunoyuri okiya. My problem is, it's been so long that I'm not sure how to justify my character's prolonged absence. I'd rather not have to start over if I can avoid it.

First of all, welcome back Reijin-chan! I was beginning to worry about you! I hope everything is all right now, as for your situation with being a maiko . . . I remember that you had an Onee-san, Meldisse, however she's kind of left Gaia or was hacked o.o . . . In either case, your former older sister is gone, so I will be your onee-san and can continue on with your training to become a geisha. I wouldn't be doing this unless I knew where you were at and I know you will get along with Tanpopo and Luna ^_^.

Hii, I was woundering if there was any way I could get an Onee-chan (older sister) to help me become a geisha. I think many of the okiya members are kinda of very busy and stuff so haven't been posting. I am not sure how to become a geisha and would love to here the answer. Thank you for your time.
