"So he's happy and optimistic. I think it's nice to have him around sometimes. He can be quite pleasant to a point." Jelena nodded to her own statement. If you look at the fact of his state of condition, I'd say he's rather well off anyway."
Then a c**k of her head to the side and a snicker on Eric's behalf. "We're just messy people. Thank you for the offer James but me and clean just doesn't really equate. Neither does Erik and clean for that matter. Perhaps you can talk the newbie into cleaning and keeping things clean?"
"No not this time. Just a feeble little human like the rest of us who strayed or stayed away from anything in the area of Metamorphosis body modification...no offense mind you." A smile that was her own as her glasses disguised computer screen slid down her nose slightly.
Ren did indeed stay by her side, adding in his own two cents from time to time on things and ignoring the glare from the mechanic who had his own schematics up. He could wait. Then a smile and a pat to her hands as she went about clinging to him in a manner. "But at least you're not embarrassed by being dragged."
A cheerful laugh before he was jerked roughly and his wings forcibly splayed with a horrible sound of metal on metal from unconventional movement. "Hey! Those are attached to my spine! Take it easy...geez..." One of the few moments Rennell lost his cool and happy attitude.

"I'll try to get her to cooperate. but it seems your previous assistant couldn't coep with it. it's like trying to keep things clean in the process of a hurricane with you."
Jame's deadpan humor, as the joke was said with a completely straight and serious face.
"I need to get to Meta, Rose and Rennell both need to be reminded..again..that these appointments are not something that you can casually shrug aside when they feel like it. but if you wish, send your new assistant over, and I'll see if I can get her to clean up after you both."
His heels clapped together, and a nod to them both nad he left the office, heading back to Metamorphosis and the second he got there, crossed his arms and watched Rennell's evaluation.
"You both need to learn that this is not open for debate, this is not to be played with. these are your lives. I've seen too many die to kicnks or malfunctions to let you both skip out on these apointments when it isn't convenient for you. Especially you Roselyn. You have the most bioware in you, and you have prior history of incidents. last thing anyone in this fleet needs is you having a blade accident and cutting a gash in a hull."
Okay, mild exaggeration, but the point was crystal clear.
"You skip out on an apointment one more time, either of you, and I'll have you confined to quarters in Meta until I feel you have some respect for those people that work hard to keep yours, and my implants functioning."

"Embarassment would not really be my problem." And she stayed by but did let go of him when his person started in on him. A small smile came to her, "I think he is aware that those are attached or I would hope he were since he is to work on them, or at least check them." Then she grimaced watching, much the face she had had since they had arrived. She knew he would bounce back to happy sometimes mindless chatter in ohhhh about two seconds.
Her thoughts were however cut short when James arrived and had that look in his eye. It looks like she afforded some embarassment and chastising anyway. She did her usual and looked to the ground toeing her sandlas on and off again, her hands catching on each other in a fidgeting motion. She really was rather submissive in nature, that had never quite changed even with her time on the ship. "Convenience was not the..." She just quieted then and nodded her head even though what she said was the truth. Sometimes she questioned coming up here but silently wondered whether he really had the authority.

And she was lost again. Why was this so hard for her? She could splice atoms. She could recite the genetic code by memory. She was directionally challenged. "I suppose it's high time I admitted that." Shaking her head she looked down the hallways again and tried to remember where...Roselyn had told her to go. "Which way did she point? Which way?"
Lillia wandered around for a while, shaking her head and muttering to herself. Dr. Trevale was going to fire her, she knew it. And then she'd have to go home and admit to her parents that she got fired because she got lost. Her mother was always a time nazi and it would probably do Lillia some good to emulate at least one of her habits. She wandered down another hallway and then peeked in a random room. "Excuse me? Do you know where I can find-"
Her mouth dropped and her eyes widened and a very confused look flew over her face, which quickly turned to surprise and then embarassment. "Dr. Trevale..." She took a deep breath, smoothed a nonexistent wrinkle and walked forward. Extending her hand she said softly, her cheeks flushed, "I'm Lillia Nikkco. I'm your new assistand and I'm soooo sorry that I am late. I did not mean to, honest. I just, this place is like a maze and I was going here and there and then..." She cut off realizing she was babbling. "But I'm here now and I'm really very sorry."

He got the same old story. Left wing joints lagging and seizing for some reason or another. Of course with the pseudo-circulatory system withing the metal, that was in face dangerous for him. Four times already he had passed out over his six years of having these things from the cut off of circulation that tied into his very body.
But a bit of tweaking and a few added nanomachines of a few types added in and he was basically good as new...or as new as a young man with mech wings and one mech eye could be. But now a look over to James....and they were getting fussed out.
"I wasn't skipping out on an appointment. I was going to go make sure that Rose bud was coming to hers as well. We were just the slightest bit late..." But he knew excuses didn't fly with James. He was serious about this type of thing.
And with that realization, he opted for the route that he deemed safest. "Sorry James. I'll try not to make a habit of it." Then that bright happy cheerfulness came back to life within him, even more so as he was given the a-okay and his exam was finished up.

Jelena looked to the extended hand...then to Erik who was behind Lilia. And a mischievous look was exchanged between the two. The girl was so flustered and probably afraid that she would fire her or at the very least yell at her.
But she simply pushed up her O.O.D.D.S. screen glasses and then smirked. Rising she took Lilia's hand and shook it. "Welcome aboard the Envision and to project Echo." A point to Erik as she released her hand. "That is Erik Donner, my head assistant. But not your boss, I'm the boss." A smile and she waded through papers around her desk now.
Erik laughed and clapped his hands down onto Lilia's shoulders. "Horribly late is Trevy's style...as well as my own. Along with our trait for disorganization. Don't worry, she only bites when you mess with her chaos or her Echos."
"And Erik bites at random, watch your fingers." Stepping over a box of files she came to stand in front of Lilia. "Have all your things in order? P.A.I.D. tags and all?"

Lillia had no idea Erik was even in teh room and when his fingers touched her shoulders she jumped about a mile. Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath and put a hand to her chest to slow her racing heart. "Y-you startled me." She nodded and smiled at Erik then turned back.
But it appeared Dr. Trevale was all business. "Umm yes, I have everything I need." She pulled up her sleeve and showed her the bracelet around her wrist. "So, what do you need me to do?"

"First off, you can't do anything at the moment and you won't be permitted to do anything other than file papers until you have the grand tour of Echo itself. That is going back into the labs as well as the holding grounds for the Echoes themselves." A nod as she reached up and unplugged her glassed, that's right. Unplugged them.
"Come on Erik, you have feedings to do anyway." A gesture to Lilia as Erik moved off through automatic doors in the back of the office space. Then Jelena herself started to wade through more mess as Erik had, expecting Lilia to follow. "Now, you may be startled by some of these things...hope you're not too jumpy.

Lillia looked around at the desk and the mess the office was in. Her mother would have a fit. She heard Dr. Trevale and got very excited. She was going to get to see everything in Echo. Everything. The experimnets, though she hated they were called that and...just everything. She knew a lot about the project already, knew what Dr. Trevale was doing and the controversy it had caused. She picked her way through the mess and followed after both of them.
Walking quickly, she kept up with them and laughed, "Dr. Trevale, I can assure you I am not too jumpy. Unless I'm very excited, then I can be a bit bouncy."

"Even when big things with teeth snap at you from out of nowhere?", she asked over her shoulder in nonchalant manner. Not a joke, that one. Things were known to snap. "Let's start with something not so intimidating."
First she was walked through the various lab rooms. If they could be described, it would be as any old fashioned sci-fi movie predicted them. Large glass columns filled with liquid, each housing a something of some kind in some various stage of growth and development. Others were just DNA processing rooms, a few looked like storage, lab that conducted various analyzations...one was set up much like a vet's office. Last room in that part held what seemed to be a massive screen that had several smaller attached and then a lone rather little scared looking keyboard attached. "And this is the M.I.S.S.E.D. You won't be touching that much at all." Another gesture to follow to a door where Jelena scanned her P.A.I.D. wristlet and a light turned green. "Ready to see some Echoes?"

James just looked at them both, and rolled his eyes at teh attempt at an excuse and then nodded lightly.
"See that it doesn't. This is very important, I know eighteen men and women who woudl be here on time every day for a checkup even if they didn't need one if they were alive now to do so."
While he gave that lecture, he sat in a chair and lifted his arm, letting the bioengineers look at him as well, though they had nothign but praise for how well maintained he was, due to even the slightest thing that disagreed with what he thought it needed to be brought him here or to his room for a checkup or self maintenance.

She took everything in, examining things through a scientists eyes and got more adn more excited. She almost lost Jelena in just about every room, when she stopped to examine the different tubes. She was curious and inquiring but Jelena was moving along fast. "I think I'll be okay."
Eyes widened at teh sight of M.I.S.S.E.D. She did not like computers much though she was very proficient at them, preferred to do things the old fashioned way. Cringing at the thougth of working taht huge computer, she sigehd with relief when she found out she wasn't going to be.
Blue eyes lit up when asked about the echos and eager enthusiasm was written all over her face. Of course she wanted to see the echoes. She had waited for five years to see the echos and now here was her chance. She wanted to fall to her knees and praise the lord but she settled for clenching her fingers to stifle her excitement a bit and nodding. "Yes."

Roselyn shook her head at James, and gave a very rare very small glare, "And I would give my appointment to them were they alive, but you do not understand." Safe route with her? Well she tried, but continued lectures were not well with her especially on this subject. Yes, she was a little weird. Then she looked at the ground again a moment and turned back to Ren, thinking it good she was residing in Echo, less enforment there, well because what enforement there could be was lax anyway. "Sorry to get you in trouble, you just go head to your appointment next time. You can not get back into Echo anyway, so if I do not come out, you are only affording yourself a lecture." Then she gave another turn and walked off a bit. yes, she was Twenty five but not afforded the right time to really grow up yet as someone may tell her to do now.

Ren only nodded again and then pouted in his own way a little. Then a look to Rosey. "I could get into Echo if you would let me back there, remember? But fine...I'll go on. But that doesn't mean I won't come looking for you to bother you and the like." A smug look before looking over to James again.
"Believe me I know James. I've walked that death edge more than I would like to because of this M.A.T.U. system integrated into me. Not that I would change it for the world really. Again, sunshine.
"Good then. Oh and keep your fingers to yourself and don't wiggle them about. You'll loose them." Ah, Echo born humor. But as she led through the doors, metal hulling seemed to vanish to the sight of various habitats with thick metal fencing. Enclosures were quite spacious and well planned. Nothing looked artificial even though the environment was artificially created and made sustainable within the Envision itself. Seemed complicated, but wasn't.
"Start with the simple things." A swipe of her P.A.I.D. wristlet and she gained entrance to a pen. It was rather Earth north eastern hemisphere like in appearance and it seemed empty. That was until a yip and then several yips from different things followed as Jelena crouched and pulled what could be called treats from her lab vest pocket. Each one had nine little tails.
Several little fox like creatures tumbled from the bushed and pranced over to her. One taking residence on her knee, another trying to climb her back. A few others just crowded as she handed out treats. "These are Echoes, Lilia. Canis Kitsuni. More commonly knows as a Kitsune from Japanese legends."

Lillia walked in behind Jelena and smiled when the Kitsune came prancing out. They were so cute, she really wanted to reach out and pick one up. But she knew better so she simply kneeled down beside Jelena and watched.
She grinned when Jelena pulled out treats, seemed she spoiled some of her own echos. "They're adorable. What are their names?"
