There's supposed to be a Catholic subtext to the Narnia books, just like Lord of the Rings. It doesn't make a difference either way, because they're great books. The Narnia books are, I mean. I've never read Lord of the Rings.
Um, but. The last manga I read was Uzumaki. I'm waiting for Chonchu translations to come out.

I think I'm going to read up on the Catholicism in Narnia. I mean, the obvious ones so far are the references to Adam and Eve... and pretty much the beginning of the book of Genesis (in the creation of Narnia, references to the apple/snake thing, evil).

Oh, another thing, CS Lewis (Narnia author) is from Ireland. Sooo, he could be Catholic..or some other non-Catholic denomination.
Nalfein, are those Murakami books? I really want to read those!

Aslan = Jesus.
I like Murakami's short stories, kinda. I read Hard-Boiled Wonderland etc. but I didn't get it or something.

Chris bought the entire set of something called "Ping Pong Club". It looks really perverted and funny.

I've read a lot of criticism on the new Potter book.
I for one LOVED it.

You already read it? gonk
My mom and my youngest sister both read it already.
My mom handed it to me... and BLEW THE ENDING.
I kinda just carry the book around with me... not at all interested in reading it...

Mkat that sucks.
I have to buy it when I get back. I'm kind of paranoid about someone spoiling it for me, but nobody I know IRL has any interest in Harry Potter.

Oh, I kinda knew what happened b/c for some idiotic reason... I decided to browse around the HP thread.
stressed
Still, I was pretty pissed at my mom (okay, I threw the book at her and told her there was no point in reading it anymore). I haven't even finished reading Narnia yet.

I sprained my ankle and calf in Spain from walking too much so I stayed home one day, and I started reading it at 9 am, finished 6 pm, nonstop. Well, two bathroom breaks and I had a plate full of cheese and bread while I read it.
gonk
I want to read Narnia.

i highly HIGHLY reccommend fullmoon wo sagashite. heart and series by arina tanemura in general. fullmoon might have appeal for people here, though, since the main character is striving to be a singer.
other manga i really like: arcana, sailormoon, magic knight rayearth, chobits, koukou debut, and other stuff i can't seem to remember currently... sweatdrop
