Manelin carefully took hold of Spot, who know knew that the ladybug taster was holding him. He flew around inside the cupped hands, trying to get out. Manelin watched as Tali easily reached in and pulled the frog out. He released Spot then clapped his hands in glee. "You make it look so easy!" he said happily.

The frog was not so happy. It wiggled and squirmed within Tali's grasp, and managed to hop free... Just to have that brat Manelin reach up and pluck it from the air by one leg. It wiggled and squirmed as it dangled from it's poor leg, but could not get free.

Manelin looked at the frog with wide eyes. "Maybe I should hold you this way so you can't get away again," he mused out loud. He looked up at Tali. "Thank you Tali," he said happily. His matron had always told him to say 'Please' and 'Thank you' whenever he wanted something or got something.

Taliesin shut the drawer quickly, almost as soon as the frog was out. Heaving a sigh of relief the boy went to return the frog to Manelin. Unfortunately the frog jumped out of his hands and straight into the air. Quickly Manelin snatched it out of the air by one leg. It dangled still kicking futilely as Manelin thanked Taliesin.

"You're welcome! I think you should put them somewhere safe so you don't loose them before class." Taliesin escorted Manelin to the door, regretfully having to return to his own homework. Maybe this time they wouldn't lose a frog or something.

Manelin blushed. "Maybe I should put froggy back into his glassbox until class," he agreed. It shouldn't be hard to gather up Red Spot, Green Froggy, Yellow Shoe, and Blue Hat just before class, should it? He allowed Tali to escort him to the door, looked around, sat down, put his shoe back on (it felt weird, but hey, there had been a frog in there!), stood back up, patted the hat on top of his head, and pretty much skipped all the way back to his room, feeling giddy with glee that he had completed his assignment so fast!

Taliesin grinned after the toddler, much more steady on his feet than most of the his group had been. Although, Tali guessed that he wouldn't be labled a toddler for much longer. 001 turned back to his desk and his own homework.

The Search for Tali! - From Nanedin
Manelin winced, but gave the older kids a cautious look before going over to the teacher. He ran the words over in his mind, hoping he sounded much older than he really was. "Excuse me... teacher... but do you know where Tali- I mean, 001 is? I have something of his, and I was hoping to find him here..." The teacher frowned. "The matron's said he wouldn't be here. S'alll I know, now shoo!" He turned back towards the four fighters. Manelin frowned. Ok, so the teacher didn't know where Tali was, but he said something about Tali's Matron... He headed off towards Tali's room to see if Tali's matron - and perhaps Tali himself - would be there.
Manelin poked his head into the room once more. Alright, so Tali wasn't with the rest of the big kids at that morning's practice. That meant he had to be here, right? Hopefully Tali's matron was here even if Tali wasn't. "Tali?" he called out softly, "Are you here?" He didn't want to wake Tali if he was sleeping, but he did want to know if Tali was alright. He still had Tali's hat on his head, and Tali had said that he wanted that hat back at some point.

Taliesin's bed was crumpled, but not undone. It was like someone hand messed around with it while it was still made, but hadn't bothered to fix it back up. Half kicked under the bed was a stuffed frog with a spot of dark red near one eye. The bedstand was also mottled with dark red streaks, quickly and incompletely cleaned up. A note was lying on the bed farthest from Taliesins. Outside the door voices drifted as two Matron's walked past the room.

"-001 to the infirmary."

"I know! I heard he's still out-"

Manelin had shrunk back farther into the room at the sound of voices, although he didn't know why. Tali was at the "infirmary" and was "still out"? He didn't know what either of those meant on their own, but something had happened to Tali, and he didn't think anyone was suppose to know about it. He would have gone straight to see Tali at the "infirmary", except... he didn't know what or where that was, so he decided to see if there was something in the room to clue him in. He started by wandering over to Tali's bed. There was the bad red on it. He clenched and unclenched his hands nervously in thought for a moment a he walked around he bed. He discovered the frog at some point, crouched down, and picked it up. He examined it, and shuddered before nearly hurling it away from him when he saw more bad red. He may like red, but he didn't like it when the red came from blood, thus it was bad red. Why couldn't blood be green, or yellow? He quickly yet carefully put the frog back where he found it, and - with a quick glance at the door - wandered over to the other bed. What was that on top? He scrambled to climb on top of the bed, and looked at it, but couldn't make heads or tails of what it was, or what it meant. He sighed, climbed down, and went back over to Tali's bed. What had happened? If only he knew where this "infirmary" was! It was so frustrating being a toddler! He tiptoed over to the door, and when he was certain there was no one around, he slipped out. Now what reason could he give to whom to be told where the "infirmary" was?

As Manelin snuck out of the room's the two Matron's had just turned the corner. "I'm going to visit him right now," one of them sighed. "Oh, I do hope he's allright!" With that the two Matron's split up, the one carrying a bunch of flowers heading farther down the corridior and through the dormitory to the infirmary.

Or.... Manelin could just follow the one matron. He quickly scrambled around the corner and tried his best to keep up after the matron who said they were going to see Tali.

The Matron led the way straight to the infirmary. Pausing briefly to set the flowers down next to the a bed with crisp white sheets, the Matron tucked the sheets in a little tighter around the lump. With a sigh she turned and headed out a different door.

On the bed was 001, head wrapped in white linen. A dark red stain on the bandages was testament to the reason Taliesin was in the the infirmary. Next the bed was a fairly low chair.

Manelin carefully kept his distance as he followed the Matron. He shuffled to hide behind the closest object as he waited for the Matron to leave. He continued to look towards the direction the Matron left for a moment, then finally stepped out of hiding and wandered over to the bed, the blue hat on his head bobbing with every step. He stood up on tiptoe to look over the edge of the bed and saw only covers. He looked around for a moment, spotted a chair that seemed to be meant for him, and climbed up on top of it. From his better vantage point, he now saw what happened to Tali, and gasped in surprise. His eyes grew extremely wide as he clapped his hands over his mouth. Hopefully he didn't wake Tali with that noise. Tali looked like he really needed his sleep... As it was, he was still tempted to touch Tali and make sure he was real. That this was real...

Taliesin stirred slightly as Manelin gasped. Whether it was the sound or the sudden shadow falling across the child's eyes, Tali began to wake up slowly. At first he resisted opening his eyes, the pain in his temple urging him to sink back into unconsiusness.

But eventually he opened his eyes onto a fuzzy scene. A sharp lance of light jabbed into his eyes and Taliesin quickly shut them again with a wince.

Manelin winced as Tali reacted to his gasp before going still. He didn't kill Tali by gasping, did he? He was glad to see Tali move again after a while. He held his breath this time and watched with a mix of awe and terror as Tali opened then quickly shut his eyes. He could still do that? His throat finally emitted in a small, wavering squeak, "Tali?" He unconsciously moved his head so that shadows fell across Tali's eyes, the blue hat on his head tilted at the same angle.

Slowly 001 opened his eyes again, bracing against the light. It wasn't so bad now, a shadow was dulling the razor rays of light somewhat. Still Taliesin kept his eyes lidded against the light. Slowly he started to turn his head at the sound of his voice stopping partway through at the nausea.

"Huh?" his voice croaked out, rusty from disuse over the night. Expecting pain, Tali cleared his throat, pleaseantly surprised when it didn't jar his head much. Again he turned toward Manelin, taking it slowly.

"Hey.." Taliesin's mind blanked for a moment on the toddler's name, but covered it up quickly. "Where am I?"

Manelin nearly giggled in relief as Tali responded. So he wasn't dead! He shifted in his spot while he untilted his head, scooting a little to still cover Tali's eyes with shadows. Now, where were they again? Oh yeah. "The matrons call this an in-firm-a-ree." He pronounced it slowly and carefully, since it was his first time saying it, then blinked. "You ok?" He nearly winced. What a stupid question. He quickly smothered that question with a semi-statment. "I guess you don't want your hat back right now, do you?" Why couldn't anything come out of his mouth and not sound stupid? He touched the blue hat on top of his head. It was the only blue thing he was willing go near, let alone touch. Spot danced over Tali's head, trying to figure out what was wrong.
