"Thank you my new Lord Liu Bei. I thank you for welcoming me into your forces without further notice. I will protect Xing Cai with my life, you can trust me on that. I will act as her bodyguard in this battle, although in her mind she doesn't need one, and she probably doesn't." Gan Ning turned to Xing Cai after making a bow to Liu Bei, his new Lord. "So let's get going Cai, unless you don't want me to call you that." Ning did his infamous nervous look, closing his eyes, and rubbing the back of his head.

Cai smiled back at Gan Ning and shook her head in responce to his words. "No, Cai is fine." Liu Bei smiled slightly, happy to see that they were getting along well so far. Cai turned to her father and went up to him, giving him a soft kiss on his cheek before going up to her uncle and doing the same. Then she faced away from them, walking over to where the door was. She stopped when she was there, looking over at Gan Ning. Liu Bei gave her a small wave, saying this: "The men we'll be sending with you are already waiting for you outside!"
Cai nodded back to show that she'd heard him, then started walking outside again. "Gan Ning must be trustworthy if you've left him to gaurd Cai." Liu Bei remarked once the other two were far enough not to hear them. He looked over at his brother, still smiling as he looked. It was obvious how precious Zhang Fei's little girl was to him, and Fei wouldn't easily trust someone to take care of her. "Well, shall we go and start getting ready for a possible assault?"

"Okay, just making sure I wasn't overstepping any boundaries you may have. I have one for myself, no one touches my bells unless I tell them they can. You can if you want, just don't steal them." Ning smiled sharing one of his unwritten rules.
"So, is there anyway I can get some new clothes that are green, like yours?" Gan Ning was nervous to ask but he wanted to be in style.

"Gan Ning is a good warrior, not as good as I am, but good enough to look after her." Fei said with a laugh. "Plus I would much rather have someone go with her than have her go alone. You need me here and since he came along I figured it was a perfect opportunity for him to show his strength." Fei watched them leave and then turned toward his brother, "So, we should get ready for the worst, should Brother Yu have to retreat."

Liu Bei nodded to his brother, glancing over at Gan Ning and his niece before actually looking at him. "Let us just hope that it doesn't get to that point...."
Cai giggled, smiling despite the fact that she was going off to battle. "I think that I could find something for you when we come back." She looked at him, trying to imagine him wearing something all clad in green and pretty much failed. It just didn't seem like the right color, namely because of that vividly red hair that he had on his head. Now that they were outside she could see the soldiers and officers that would be going with them. Cai ran up to a horse, grabbing the reins and then pulling herself up. Now she looked over at Ning, her face turning serious. "Right then, it's time to go to Xia Pi...."

"What's so funny Cai, can't imagine me in all green. It would muss my doo correct?" Ning chuckled at this, and decided he might keep the red as well as green, just to confuse people. "Where is my horse? Oh wait, I don't need one." Ning flashed a toothy grin, and got to a Track start, down on the ground ready to gallop to Xia Pi.

Cai smiled down at Ning, turning around and waving at a soldier for a horse. He brought one over, which Cai made a gesture to for Gan Ning before she gently kicked her horse. The horse took off in a gallop, the other men following in suit and began traveling behind her. All that Cai could hope was that they weren't too late to help. Just hang in there, uncle Yu.
'I'm coming.' Cai stated firmly, almost as if she were talking to her uncle face to face. 'We'll push these invaders out of Shu together.'
((Ugh, so short.... Right then, onto Xia Pi! domokun ))

Gan Ning went from his track poistion, to backflipping onto the horse. "Heyaw, horse." Ning kicked at it galloping up beside Cai, ready to start a hard battle with these strange invaders.

Lu Bu rode in toward Xiao Pei castle. He came up to the main gate and called out, "Liu Bei! I wish to speak with Liu Bei immediately and if the gates aren't opened I'll break them myself!" His voice boomed out loudly and the guards at the gate scattered to find their lord. They knew that they couldn't just let Lu Bu into the city, but they also knew that he probably COULD break the gates by himself. The guard ran to the place where Liu Bei and Zhang Fei were sitting and waiting for word from Xia Pi. "My lord, my lord!!!!" The guard cried out frantically, "I- it's... It's Lu Bu! He's here and he demands to speak with you! H-h-he said he'd break the gate if he wasn't let in right away!" He bowed several times and nervously awaited his lord's reply.

"...What? Lu Bu? Why in the world is he here?" Liu Bei instantly responded as his eyes grew a little wide while he blinked in shock. One of the lord's hands was pulling on the hairs that grew on his chin, his eye brows knitted together as he stared out in thought. Bei definately disliked the idea of bringing a man like Lu Bu into his gates, but what else could he do? If Bei refused then Lu Bu would just break right through and march his way over. Bei let out a strained sigh and lowered his hand while turning his head and looking over at his brother. "...I'm afraid that we'll have to let him in, brother." Bei's eyes moved back over to the soldier and he pushed himself up from the throne he'd been sitting in. "Let Lu Bu in. I want a messanger to be ready to head for Xia Pi in case Lu Bu tries to do anything. If he does try something, Fei and I should be able to hold him off for a while...."
Liu Bei now nodded to the gaurd as a way to dismiss him, and he folded his arms behind his back and paced around in a few circles before he forced himself to stop. He rubbed his head while shaking it, looking down at the floor as if there was something interesting there. "What in the world could Lu Bu possibly want with Shu? I suppose that we'll just have to find out...."
Inside Liu Bei was frightened, but at the same time knowing that his brother was right there made him calm. Just as long as at least one of his brothers were there Bei knew that things would remain as safe as possible. For now all that he could do was just wait. Bei walked back over to where he'd been sitting before he'd gotten up and set himself down, his eyes now locked to where Lu Bu would enter from.

Zhang Fei heard the news of Lu Bu arriving at Xiao Pei and instantly stood up, reaching for his serpent spear. "What in the world does he want? Maybe he wants to join us only to betray us in the end?" He said with a scoff. Zhang Fei knew that Lu Bu was not a man to be trusted. Someone with such reckless power could not be contained for too long. Fei stayed standing right next to Liu Bei, just in case Lu Bu were to try something.

The guard returned to the gate and gave the order to open up. There sat Lu Bu on his mighty steed, waiting to come in. He was still holding his halberd, which was still covered in blood, and he slowly rode into the city. People in the streets began to panic and ran inside, hoping that he wouldn't hurt any of them. "Hmph... pathetic..." He muttered under his breath as he rode forward. The guard called out to him, "Lord Liu Bei awaits you in his throne room. I will escort you there once we reach the castle." Lu Bu nodded to him and then eventually made his way to the castle. He tied his horse up outside and turned to the guard, who was opening the door. He was lead down the hallway and to the entrance of the throne room. "Sir... Y-you will have to leave your weapon out here...." Said the guard cautiously.
"And who's going to take it from me? You?" He said in a harsh tone. Lu Bu more or less did whatever he wanted. The guard began to tremble and shook his head, then backed away, "Right this way sir." He waved for Bu to enter the room. He walked through the doorway to see Liu Bei sitting there with Zhang Fei at his side, as usual. "Very courageous of you, Little Brother, bringing me all the way into your castle instead of meeting me in the streets. I see you still have your faithful little dog at your side as usual." He said in a mocking mannor.

Liu Bei simply kept his face serious as Lu Bu came in and listened to what the warrior said, taking a split second to figure out how to respond. It would be an extremely terrible idea to anger the man who was in front of him. "Zhang Fei is my brother, we should stick together." Bei responded, deciding that it would be best not to respond to the earlier remark Lu Bu had made about the ruler of Shu not going out himself to meet him. Bei got up from his chair and gave Bu a polite bow, seeing how Bu was... ah, a guest, he supposed he should consider him. Hopefully his "guest" wouldn't begin creating any damage.
"May I ask exactly why you are here, Lu Bu?" Bei asked, still standing instead of sitting back in his chair.
'Why is his halberd covered in so much blood?' Bei asked himself, though he didn't allow his eyes to stray down at the weapon. 'He didn't go to Xia Pi, did he? I pray to the heavans that my thoughts are wrong... if he did go to Xia Pi I hope that he didn't hurt Yu or Xing Cai. That would be... devastating.... More than that. Both of my brothers are too valuable to me and Shu to die, and I couldn't imagine how Fei would feel if his daughter were killed. But even if Lu Bu did go to Xia Pi, then certainly my brother would have been able to stop him.'

Lu Bu stretched his arms and cracked his neck a few times before answering Liu Bei's questions. "Well, you see, I just left Xia Pi not too long ago and I wanted to tell you personally that your precious Guan Yu is okay. This new foe is nothing special for I have tested their men and they have proven to be somewhat better trained versions of the basic soldiers that fight in this land. In any case I cut through them just as easily as I do everyone else. My point for telling you this is that I did not kill a single Shu soldier, only these invaders fell by my blade, and I can safely say that my being there helped your brother win the battle. I was hoping that you would repay me by lending me a room for a few nights. I would like to hang around for a while in case they decide to attack somewhere else. I'd like to fight one of their generals to see if anyone in there force has anything to offer in the name of a challenge and staying here would be the perfect place to wait until they move again."

Zhang Fei heard the comment about being Liu Bei's "dog" and tried his hardest to keep his rage from the comment inside, not for fear of what Lu Bu might do because of an outburst, but because his Liu Bei most likely didn't want a fight in the throne room. He stood at his side and held back his anger, not paying attention to what Lu Bu had to say and finally couldn't take it anymore. "Rrrr.... Grrraaahhh!!!! How dare you call me a dog! Do you see any tail?" He turned around and spanked his a** at Lu Bu, then turned back. "I don't think so! That and dogs don't drink! I could drink you under the table! How about it, Bu, wanna challenge me to a drink? You don't seem so high and mighty now! Hahahaha!" Zhang Fei felt great now that he had found something that he knew he could beat Lu Bu at. There were very few people out there who could beat Fei at a drinking game, and most of them would not insult him like that.
