puppylove713 Yeah, but it is what it is. Nothing I can do about it now. But I have a bigger problem now. It has come to the point where we are doing our anesthesia patient monitoring which is part of our practical. Typically I wouldn't call it a problem, but this time it may be. I'm on my own without my partners this time, which may or may not be a problem. However, I'm more concerned about the instructor pairing that I could end up with. There are three stations and three instructors. Two of the instructors are hard graders while the other is not as hard. Typically one would hope to get the easier grader, but here is the kicker. She is in the station with the cat which requires more work and is harder to intubate. On the flips side, the harder graders are with the dogs which require less work and are easier to intubate. Either way it won't be easy... Sounds like one hell of a dice roll you're up against.

puppylove713 I'm kind of screwed either way. I'm just going to have to do my best regardless. Either way one flub up could potentially kill the dog or cat... That would be bad. No kidding. Also needing to figure out if there are also any possible allergies.

puppylove713 That wasn't an issue. These animals we use are the ones that are kept on campus and used all the time for our classes. Our instructors know which drugs can be used with which animal. That being said, I got one of the dogs with one of the harder graders, but not the hardest grader. I suppose I should be grateful for that. Let me tell you, I fear looking at that score tomorrow... I did horrible. I was able to do the skills for the practical, sure, but it took me forever and a day to figure things out and well, that isn't a good thing. Also, there were a few major things that I just couldn't remember during the event, but I do actually know the information. Nerves got the best of me again and I'm going to pay for it. But on the flip side, I won't have to deal with anesthesia again in this class which may just save my now failing score... Anesthesia is my weakest area, but it also the area I can't practice out of class... I have no way to gain experience with it and I'm a person who needs extra help and time with things because I'm a slow learner... But once I do learn it, well lets just say it is basically stuck there forever in most cases. Maybe it's not as bad as you think. But I don't want to jynx you on that.

puppylove713 Oh yeah, most definitely. As it sits, I am now passing again, but by a hair. I need 80% of my lab points to pass and I have 80% on the dot... Last Thursday saved me. I was sitting at 78% prior to that... Thank god my venipuncture skills have gone up as much as they have and so have my social skills and teamwork skills. I would be a sunken ship if it weren't for that. That's awesome.

I'm confused by that because I know math isn't my strong point, but I know it isn't that horrible. Even my mom who is pretty good with math at least better than me did the math and came up with the same numbers I did, so we are both confused... I will have to have my instructor explain how she got her numbers because I haven't the slightest idea. Maybe something you over looked?

puppylove713 Nope, not at all. My sister who is a math genius looked at it and got the same numbers that my mom and I did. However, my instructor gave me the numbers that she currently has which comes up to 184/220. I have to my knowledge 148/180. But I don't have my hands on one of the labs because it is still in my mailbox. So technically it is some number I don't know out of 200 that I have. I don't know where the extra 20 points came from... Well I don't know about you but I'd rather not stare a gift horse in the mouth.
