After taking a few breaths to recollect herself, She took the time to bandage her knuckles as well as cool off. She was still a bit irritated, but, what can you do? She is a woman after all. Charlotte felt as if someone was looking at her, and with a dumbfounded expression, Charlotte caught Sam looking at her. So she smiled and stuck her tongue out at him, making a face like a child would to a passing car.

She chuckled right after and went back to mending her small injury. It stung, but it wasn't anything serious. Though, once she stopped the bleeding, The female solder took a second glance up to see Sam bored as ever, and leaning on his gun, as if that's a smart thing to do. "Baboon..." She muttered out. She enjoyed giving people nicknames, especially if they look like they needed one. But, seeing as how everyone is lined up, Charlotte thought it would be a good thing to do the same.

Lifting herself off of the bench, and made her way to the line, she cut in front a few people just to be able to stand behind Sam where she gave him a good pat on his rear end. "Chin up old boy, Sarge can see you from up there. Don't want her booming voice to be a booming yer way now right?" She said in a sarcastic southern accent.

A lone soldier seemed to stand near a group of crates adjacent to the trainee's. He seemed distant from the other soldiers and very much out of place among them. A cloak could be seen wrapped around the soldiers shoulders and neck. It was tattered at its bottom trim and seemed to be of a green camo reflective material. In his hand the Cog clutched a unique looking sniper rifle. The barrel was elongated past the normal length and the muzzle seemed widened as a means to reduce as much noise as possible from the weapon.strapped to the man's thigh seemed to be a snub nose pistol. It too, like the rifle looked on closer inspection, to be silenced. The Cog's helmet hung at his belt by a clip it's lenses seeming to stare at something new every time he moved. The mans face seemed set in stone as it held strong features. Two blue eyes stared out across the yard before there gaze drifted skyward towards the women up o the out look who looked down on them. Her voice boomed and easily reached the mans ears but he seemed to ignore it as though he had no need for a squad they always seemed to slow him down.Yet he complied and began to approach the line of recruits. He was silent naturally in his approach even startling a recruit as he took up a spot behind one of the new trainee's'Reminds me of my days as a recruit'. he thought silently to himself watching all the others take up a spot behind him that hadn't gotten in line before. The soldier seemed to stand there and began to selectively hear conversations among the recruits. His ears seemed to find a girl's voice talking about the Sargent up on the stand.

Finishing his last repetition, Landon finally rested the barbell onto its rack. Like most of the other Gears leaving the room, he was en route to the line up where he'd hopefully be assigned a squad. He'd been waiting for long now, and there wasn't much new in routine for him to follow in the mean time, so hope that this day would come is all he held onto, and now it had paid off. "Looks like it's game time. Let's see who's in the playoffs." he said while walking past the other line members. He positioned himself between two other men, in a somewhat uncomfortable fit, but it came naturally with his size whenever he tried assembling into an ordered formation. Standing at attention, he awaited further orders without breaking his stance to look at others coming in or to look around even. He just wanted an assignment so he could be out of here, and if acting the best of the recruits was going to help do that, it's what he was prepared to do.

Samuel Maverick◄
Not even noticing the expression the girl pulled, Sam started to see more people fall into line. He started to think how many people were going to die through these missions. It seemed odd to think about this but some of the people around here just didn't look like they could hold a weapon, little less fire one.

Samuel kept a tight grip on his gun and feeling someone lean on it he looked before sighing. Noticing it was that girl again was unsettling for him. What was it pick on Sam day? It was giving him the shits about it. He looked away from her and focused his attention back to the front, ignoring the first word she said.

Just as he was about to move away he felt a slight pat on his behind and it caused him to remain still and flinch only slightly. He grunted then snapped his head back at her. "Don't call me boy, recruit." He snapped with a harsh tone. He pulled his longshot up and holstered it in both hands.

This was to be expected. everyone knew how easily tempered this guy can get, and she enjoyed teasing him about it too. Just something about making a man break over the littlest of things, gave her the giggles. However when he gave of a threatening tone, she picked up on that right away. "Boy I'm a Private, unlike yo-" Before she could even finish, she watched as his hands went to hold his guns, just as fast, she placed her right fist to his groin, not hitting it, but nonetheless, sending the message.

She gave him a dark grin and leaned closer to him. "If you want to play Truth and Dare, I tell you right 'bout now: Truth is, before you can even utter a sound, my fist will be up in yer groin before you even knew it. But, if you want to be dare'n me....Then I dare you to try me...Boy" Charlotte started him down her fist remaining close to his groin, her threats held true. She was not about to give up on this game of chicken.

All she thought to get out of him was a decent conversation, but of course, he ends up the hot headed one, and like most men, she may just as well put him in his place. Then again, a rather blank of another man caught her attention. He really just stood out like a stiff bald plank...With just her eyes she glanced over at him before putting Sam in a quick head lock and started a fake laughter. "Nah! I'm just messing around Sam! No need to get yer panties in a bunch." She then shoved him off of her and gave Sam a glare, if it weren't for someone listening she would have punched him where it hurts. Charlotte waved Same off as she went to head back to the bench, meanwhile passing the bald guy, she gave off a quick wink in his direction before sitting herself on the bench and looking up to the higher officer above.

CORPORAL LANDON, C

During the argument between the man and woman not far ahead of him in line, Landon stayed a straight posture, merely listening to the exchange of words remaining uninvolved as to avoid making matters worse at that time, not that he would care in most cases, but first impressions can go a long way with the people that he'd be working beside.

Though not seeing the conflict that was at hand, Conner had let out a small chuckle after he heard this hard-woman finishing her delivery of speech and threat. He knew who she was addressing. It was "the new guy", who really isn't so new. "Don't be stepping out of line now ma'am, you'll want to be making more friends than enemies. We've got enough of those on the other side." His words couldn't have come out more clear and bold. While not a threatening tone, it was hardly a friendly one either. This day was certainly getting more exciting by the moment, indeed.

Charlotte heard someone address her, so, she snapped her attention right back at the figure, and low and behold, it was London. The woman smiled to him as she leaned back a bit, tilting her head some before giving him a reply. "Why, if it isn't London. Didn't anyone tell you that you need to keep yer friends close, but yer Enemies closer?" Again, in her southern accent, she teased the other male officer.

She then bent over, resting her elbow's on her knees, while resting the side of her head to her left hand, still keeping her attention on London. "Don worry sugar, I mean no bad ilk with Sam. Just roughing him up." She added with a small wink but then stuck her tongue out a Sam to further tease him.

Charlotte looked back up to the higher commander behind the railing on the second floor and instantly her smile faded. She didn't want a scolding or miss out on any action. So, respectfully, she stood up and walked over to London, again, cutting in front of the guy that had stood behind London. Now she stood next to him and smiled. "So...What's this all about, I thought I'd be doing more exercise, but not even a minute goes by and were sent back out. Or, is this going to be one of those Trust your buddy exercise?" Charlotte though to ask.

Sam wasn't even showing any hostility at all. He simply was putting his weapons in both arms as leaning on it was annoying and the fact she had tried to even attempt to lean against it. He groaned when Charlotte grabbed his private area and hearing those words he glared at her even though she couldn't see it through his helmet.

He didn't say nothing because before he could she had released her grip and walked away. He shook himself off and looked forward with distrust and also a slight pain in his lower region. He could see other soldiers looking his way and he simply stuck his finger up at them then looked away.

Sam wasn't exactly this type of person really at all. He is nice to talk to but he really doesn't like the idea of being in this particular situation. Other people here may be up for it but he wasn't. He had no choice which made life issues even worse. He let out a sigh then turning around he walked over to a bench where no one was near or sitting on and sat down. He placed his longshot next to him and leaned back against the wall behind him.

Logan sighed as he pushed himself off of the wall he'd been leaning on. He'd been observing the interactions of the various recruits and lower enlisted ranks. Some of them he looked forward to working with, others not so much. "They've got fire, I'll give them that much. But a bucket of blood can easily put out that fire" He thought to himself as he pulled the chewing tobacco out of his lip and tossed it on the ground. He was craving a cigarette but within the confines of the training area smoking was limited to designated areas. With a second sigh he pushed his way through the crowd and headed inside the building.

Quietly he navigated the maze of offices so he wouldn't disturb the staff working inside. I took a few minutes to find the majors office but he did so successfully nonetheless. Logan stepped inside and crossed to the door to the terrace, standing at parade rest. "Ma'am" He said, stating his presence.

Caitlyn looked about the lot of gears. A fresh batch of men and women ready for the fight. With a deep breath she began to speak, with a much less straining voice this time. "Alright i'm no Chairman so I won't be giving you no rallying speech. We all know what we're here for and what our jobs are, and I won't lie to you. Not everyone is coming back alive, that is part of the job." She let that last part sink in, turning to Logan briefly.

"You may be taking more people than you thought." She said with a shrug.

"Alright, if everyone is ready we'll begin selection into each squad. Since the sergeants are kind of thinned at the moment, we didn't expect this many fresh faces, you may not initially get the division you applied for." Caitlyn crossed her arms and leaned on the railing once more, gesturing Logan over. "Sergeant Kayez will be doing first pick."

-----

Katherine stood at the far end of the line with her arms crossed. She sported a few new bruises from a few CQC sessions with some other gears, but she got off easy compared to them. She was eager to be placed in a squad, if nothing else but to get back into the action. She had trouble staying in one place for a long time, but even this place had its benefits. No camping on the cold ground for one She chuckled to herself with that thought.

The cloaked soldier had watched the exchange between two trainee's. His ears even picking up the words she whispered to the man. 'threats are not a natural thing to go around'he though as a took a step closer. The thought of intervening crossed his mind but before he could act another man stepped in.'Good saves me from interacting with the grinder meat' He watched as the girl passed by him and wink at him, he quickly pulled his cloak up over his mouth and just like a shadow in plain daylight he seemed to mold back into the shadows of the campus. The soldier didn't have need for the other traniee's most of them wouldn't be coming home after there first mission.Holding his Long shot the ghost approached a group of crates and easily with fluid action took a seat upon them. producing a small pack of cigarettes that originated from his home town.He flipped out a light and instantly let the flame lick at the end of the soft paper. He took in the sweet smell of the smoke and taste of sage before expelling it.

Seeing as how the other solder walked off without answering her, she simply folded her arms under her breasts while leaning again the wall. "Guess we didn't need to stand in line then huh?" She mumbled to herself before noticing the bald guy taking in a drag from a cigarette. She examined him over before looking away. He wasn't bad looking but it's more likely he wasn't interested in conversation.

Charlotte forced herself off the wall and headed over to him anyway, Before she even came closer to him, she gave him a slight wave before taking up a spot on the wall next to him. At first, Charlotte was looking ahead at everyone else. She even payed attention to the announcement earlier on in. From what she gathered, it's a hit or miss situation. Either you get what you want or you don't.

Eventually, Charlotte gave the Bald stranger a glance. She smiled to him before turning her full attention on him. "So, mind if I bum a cig off of you?" She thought to ask to see if he had any left. (assuming that he is smoking.)

CORPORAL LANDON, C

Landon remained unresponsive to the woman who was standing next to him, Charlotte was her name. In the head officer's speech, he stayed at attention to be sure to hear an uninterrupted flow of words. Again, he was not satisfied with having to ignore this young lady, but he had to make correct priorities. Besides that, he could only find humor in her addressing him as "London", and messing up the common saying of "Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer." He was not going to judge though.

While he'd be willing to stand at a position of attention for as long as need be, there comes a certain threshold for every soldier when it had become just too long a time, and you can tell that there has been one, either serious consideration of the situation by your superiors, or two they have just decided to be lazy that day. In this case, it seemed unlikely the officers would present themselves as lazy in their first interaction with their recruits, so this was going to be something important. Perhaps the squads are being selected as permanent placement this time, not merely temporary for a mission like Conner had been a part of in recent service. His excitement rose and a small smirk grew on his face.

Logan mumbled under his breath as he pulled his smokes from his pocket. He grabbed one and lit it, taking a drag from it, designated areas be damned. Quickly he gazed at a nominal role on the major's desk and grabbed it with his free hand. Logan stepped out onto the terrace and held up his pack of smokes. "Care for a dart ma'am?" without waiting for an answer he tossed the pack to the major and leaned on the railing, half looking out to the crowd, half reading the nominal role in his left hand. Quickly he flipped through the papers, taking a draw from his cigarette on occasion. Logan took one final drag before extinguishing the cigarette on the railing and tossing the butt over.

"I'll keep this short" He said, addressing the crowd. "Recruit Schofield, Private Buchanan, PFC Maxwell and Corporal Landon You're with me."
