Devon looked at the party invite from Luca, he gladly clicked it and nodded. He was a funny little guy. It would be fun to adventure this game with him. Who else will he run into. He thought about all the people who got the Beta copy....chances are he won't meet everyone, but that alright. He looked at Luca and nodded when he spoke of the field. "Yeah, thats a good place to level, lets head there." He looked at Luca's level..level 1, its not that far from Devon's level, but it makes him feel so much more superior. Just him being conceited thats all. He started to run off towards the field.
Ever since he arrived in this virtual world, Erebus had been doing nothing but exploring the town. He looked around observing how the NPC's and everything in the world reacted/responded to him and the other players. It truly amazed him, the NPC's were just like people he had met and known in the real world, but somehow they seemed better, or should the word be pure. These virtual people, did not commit any evil or caused any harm, it was simply not in their programming to cause such things. "This world is my dream come true." Erebus would say as he walked around, marveling at the simplicity of the world. In there, the only evil that is committed are by those of the players or some wicked program, that was created to do so. This was how Erebus had wished the real world would be, but this was just some fantasy. Well that was until he came to this, a world in which his fantasy is real.
After exploring the town a little more, Erebus would soon realize that this world is not meant to merely be stared at. Shaking his head, Erebus placed his right index finger and thumb together, and then pulled downwards. As soon as he did, a small ringing sound is heard and a menu would appear before him. Looking over the main menu, Erebus scanned through all the lists and features, trying to figure out everything there is to know about his stats and skills. After about a few minutes of reading, Erebus closed the menu and sighed, "What should I have expected for my first time in here." he muttered as his stats and skills were exactly as he had expected them to be low and weak. Well he was still a beginner and seeing as most of the players here had the same level as him, with only a few of were actually level two or even three, but he has not seen anyone beyond or at level five. "So we are all beta testers, eh? I wonder just how far we will get into the game, until it is opened for all?" Erebus looked at a few of the players that were nearby him. "Should I attempt to join a party with them? What if they aren't the type of people I would normally hang out with?" Dismissing these thoughts, Erebus would look out at the town and then at his hands.
Clenching his hands into fists, Erebus would decide on his next course of action, "I need to get stronger. That way I will be able to explore more of this world and see what truly lies within this world." having decided what he was going to do, which was leveling up in order to move pass this small town and maybe visit even more, but he still had no idea where the best place to begin his grinding was. Looking around, Erebus saw some players leaving the town and heading towards a grassy area. Quickly moving his right hand in front of him, Erebus would equip a basic sword, along with light mail and a leather cloak. Doing this, boosted his stats just a little bit, but it was something he knew that he would need in order to grow stronger. Looking over his newly altered appearance, Erebus smiled and withdrew his sword, looking at it. "Hm, this is just a basic sword, meant to slay easy prey. I will need to forge my own blade in the near future. One, that will be able to slay even the strongest of monsters." With everything equipped, Erebus was prepared to set out and so he left towards the grassy area. {Exits}
Starting to get lost Marcus felt he was going to have to maybe ask around to figure out where he should head to first. "This is getting annoying, i feel like i i've been walking around for hours" he blurted. Allowing both hands to rest upon his hips still keeping his manly posture he began to think about what to do next. A second later a light bulb went off in the young players head. "Maybe i should ask another player" he guessed. Now with this idea in mind Marcus scanned around for another player, he noticed that you could tell players from Npc's because players had weapons on them and Npc's didn't. After scanning a little more Marcus noticed a blue haired girl walking by. "Excuse me!" he shouted. Running over Marcus stopped in front of her a few feet back. "You wouldn't happen to know how to get to the fields would you? I need to start leveling up." he explained then after scratching the back of his head smiling he felt a little retarded but he needed to ask somebody instead of wondering around for hours.

Well, what did she know. Just as the thought of running into other players passed through her mind, a male player just happened to come up to her and ask for directions. What perfect timing. Not to mention, this would probably be the perfect opportunity to acquaint herself with some of the other beta-testers.
A small smile would grace Yukari’s lips.“Ah, actually, I was just heading there myself. I’m not completely certain of where the hunting grounds are located per se, but ... seeing how the other players appear to be heading towards the outskirts, I’m just going to assume that it’s somewhere out there.”She frowned slightly, her short-lived smile fading just as quickly as it had appeared. Those words didn’t seem too convincing. Furthermore, she felt like there was still something that she had forgotten to mention, but she wasn’t sure exactly what. An awkward silence fell over the atmosphere as the female attempted to recall what she was missing.“Aha!”Yukari exclaimed abruptly, finally after a few minutes of long thinking. Placing her right index finger and thumb together, just as she had done earlier, and pulling downward, she accessed the main menu, and immediately pulled up the Field Map under the Maps/Quests tab. Taking a brief glance at the Field Map, her assumption was soon confirmed.“Uh ... so yeah, the fields do appear to be a few miles outside of town,”she said.“Do you mind if I come along with you? My name is Yukari and this is my first time playing Sword Art Online, so I would be happy if we could partner up and play through the game together.”
Great another player was heading there was well, this was a sign of good luck but sadly she was sure where to go either. So what was next? " Hmmm i see. Well i'm sure i can find it some other way thanks though" he said with such a polite tone. Turning around Marcus began to slowly walk off until "Aha!" turning around swiftly he gazed upon the girl as she began to pull down a menu. "O yeah" he remembered. Taking his index and middle finger he pulled down on the air, amazingly a menu graced his presence. "I don't know why i forgot about this" he said. Quickly shifting through his own menu bringing up the map Marcus saw where he needed to go. Closing his menu. "Well seem's we know where to go now" he claimed. As he listened to Yukari ask if she could tag along Marcus would just turn around and start walking away from. "Well...lets get going, we can't stand around all day, other players will get all the good spots" he explained. turning his head as he walked he smiled towards Yukari "name's Marcus" he said. With that Marcus made his way to the fields along with his new ally.

XXXXXX'Haha, it's working better than I thought it would! I better calm down a bit though; I wouldn't want for a stronger player to come along and make me look a punk right now.’ Janemba thought to himself, grinning slightly before going back into his scarier face, which from where he was from was called "the mean mug." Being as ferocious and muscular as he saw, it didn't much to perfect his mean mug, hell he didn't have to do a mean mug to scary to some other players. Instead of continuing with his intimidation antics, he would lay the boy gently onto the ground, still staring at him. 'Hm, I wonder if this guy would be up for partying with me? Now that I think about it, maybe it wasn't such a great idea to try to scare the kid, seeing as I'm going to ask him to party up. If he does say no, well then I'll just try to intimidate him into partying up again. Yeah that's a pretty good idea, hehehe!' The nerdy Janemba giggled in his head like an excited child who was about to receive loads of candy or had been invited to the Chocolate Factory. Janemba would lean in towards Asmea, staring straight into his eyes once again, not in a loving way, but almost as if he was trying to inspect Asmea, to see what he truly was about. "I'm going to ask you this, no, I'm going to tell you this only once. I've become level four quickly," Janemba lied straight through his virtual teeth, "Which means I have no problem with helping you out, so if you wish to party up with me say so now... or forever hold your peace." How dramatic was Janemba? The way he was spoke was if he was at his wedding, forcing his wife to marry him. No, he wasn't trying to hit on Asmea, Asmea wasn't really his type, plus Janemba was a fan of "woman parts," not the opposite.

A moment of silence ensued, making Asmea wait for his doom or some miracle to happen. And it seemed that a miracle actually happened, as he was lowered to the floor. Never had he been so glad to be able to be on solid ground. The blond rubbed the nape of his neck, trying to loosen up the muscle that tensed under that little confrontation. This guy is strong, Asmea reflected. But was it really a surprise? In comparison, anyone was stronger than the 14-year old, except, perhaps, young elementary school kids. On that argument, Janemba didn’t look exactly young either, and could perhaps pass as an adult, if it weren’t for his teenage angsty demeanor. Then again, Asmea had never been the person to pinpoint an accurate age on anybody he met. He once even mistook a married woman for a high schooler. That was some story.
“Level four?” Asmea repeated. It must’ve taken the guy some determination and effort, since leveling up that much in such a short amount of time? There had to been some tricks to it. The curious Asmea couldn’t help but get interested, even if the man didn’t seem exactly like the type Asmea would get along with. “Are you sure?” Usually, being offered help from a player whose level was way higher than yours was an opportunity someone could never pass. “I only set foot into Aincrad for not even ten minutes, and I know nothing of the battle system except for the little paragraph on it in the game manual. If you don’t mind a newbie, then sure, I’ll party up with you.” From his past experience, partying up with a new player didn’t always yield happy memories. It would take dozens of minutes, even hours, to explain to a newbie how to do such and such under so and so circumstance. Other times, even after all that explanation, the newbie still didn’t get the gist of the situation, and die countless times before finally took the time to learn the strategies that optimizes EXP gain and survival rates. Although Asmea believed that he wasn’t that type of newbie, he didn’t know how patient Janemba was with a player still learning how to do everything in a new world. Well, that was something Asmea would find out at the battleground. “I don’t even know where the monsters are located, though I’m guess outside of the town area,” he lamely justified.

"I want something to die for, to make it beautiful to live."
Luca almost screamed from excitement, which was unusual for someone like him. It's not that Luca was quiet, but he wasn't really one to be so outgoing. Perhaps it was because they were only in a game? It was hard to say, but Luca was happy, and that's all that really mattered. Devon had accepted his party invite, and immediately Devon's name popped up beneath his own. Both of them were at full HP, and lacked in any status effects. Luca smiled with a large grin, and immediately ran after Devon, following the large man to the Vast Grasslands.

The female accelerated her walking pace so that she could catch up to her new partner as the two of them made their way towards the fields. She wasn’t really in a rush to start training right away, but that was just part of her laid back personality. If it weren’t for Marcus’s straight-down-to-business attitude, who knew if she would get anywhere in the game. Internally, she was thankful that he had accepted her request and was willing to team up with her.“It’s nice to meet you, Marcus,”she said cooly as she pulled up the main menu once more while they were walking. Scrolling down the window, she tapped the tab that displayed two miniature character icons together, Friends/Guild. Once the sub-menu opened, she simply moved her hand to the Party option and then to the Party Invite key. Pressing the button lightly, she sent an invite to Marcus. She mentally rebuked herself for not doing this earlier, as it felt awkward to be browsing through the menu while fast walking towards their destination. Whatever the case, though, everyone was still adapting to the new game system, so she would not be alone. Hopefully. Yukari dismissed her thoughts and focused on reaching the fields as soon as possible.
XXXXXX Janemba's plan of tricking Asmea had worked just as he expected. He wasn't sure if it was because of his own cunning lie or if Asmea was just too frightened to say no, either way he got what he hoped. The only problem was that Janemba wasn't really a level four and when he fought, that may be exposed to Asmea. Luckily, Janemba had read the combat system during the free time he had in class, so he knew more than someone who was just going to wing it in Sword Art Online. It was obvious to him that his studying would pay off, it always did in the real world, so why not in Sword Art Online? The only problem in Janemba's mind was that Sword Art Online wasn't made for people like Jerome, but that would quickly fade out of the question. Do you know why? Nerds ruled the virtual world and no one could tell Janemba any different! "Well, why don't we find out if I'm telling the truth?" Janemba tested the boy once again, hoping to try to impress Asmea by sounding like he was a big shot, "That won't be a problem, you'll learn pretty quickly. The name is Janemba. I need to know yours or else I won't be able to send the party invite to you. Plus, if we're going to party together we should at least know each other’s names. You know, just in case you need any help or something." He bragged as if he was one of the strongest in Sword Art Online. Janemba knew that he would have to fight the lower level monsters though because if he fought the higher level monsters he could possibly die. That wasn't an option at the moment, he still hadn't succeeded his goals in this world as of yet. At least he may make a new friend while partying up with Asmea, but he wasn’t too sure of that seeing as he was intimidating the young man just a few minutes ago.

Apparently, Janemba didn’t hear Asmea the first time he told him of his name. Though he had to admit, his voice wasn’t the loudest, able to be easily missed amidst the anger and panic of both players. He wasn’t the type to really care about projecting his voice loud enough to people to hear either. Plus, in a state of panic, it may have just come out like something similar to the muffle, slightly high-pitched grunt. “Asmea,” the blond said again. Right now, the boy wished that instead of skimming through the manual, he should’ve perhaps read through everything so he wouldn’t have sounded like a total newbie. He was being hypocritical, not listening to his own advice. “I’m a fast learner, so you won’t need to fret too much,” Asmea explained, putting his index finger and thumb together, then in a smooth, vertical motion, pulled up the menu options. This action was easy to perform, though Asmea thought it would be funny if a player accidentally summoned the menu in the middle of a fight. Not really. His fingers glided over the “Friends/Guild” option and out came three different options; Friends, Party, and Guild. He glanced over at Janemba, ignoring the fact that the man said he would invite Asmea. Clicking the “Party” option, the boy proceeded to invite Janemba to the party. “Like I said, I’m a fast learner,” he motioned to the various other players forming parties in the distance. After all, humans could learn a lot just by observing others, else the species would be doomed.

She wanted to look somewhat similar to herself, but when she noted that she could have a spontaneous color for her hair, she gave into the temptation that threatened her mind. Slowly, she built a character that most certainly be memorable by other players and then entered the game that she had been reluctant to pick up until she'd realized that there would be plenty of time to practice her fencing and leveling up her character at the same time.
Ailith's body appeared in the town square within the Town of Beginnings. Her brilliant blue eyes gazed around in wonder, excitement, and even joy that she had chosen to pick up a video game in the first place. She spun around, finding that it was almost as easy to move within the game as it was in real life. She looked down at her hands and then ran forward than back. She spun around, her white and black tunic spinning with her, proving to have the same physics as the real world. This is fantastic! She thought to herself with a bright smile, a smile that was rarely seen within the real world.
She looked around, wondering how on earth she should begin her quest. Remembering what she'd read in the starter's manual, it had told her to find NPCs and talk to them, but instead she darted forward and into the mass of other characters that were beginning to take form and move about.〗 ☆═━┈┈━═☆ ...Oh, Turpentine erase me whole I don't want to live my life alone I was waiting for you all my life.
A soluble knock came at the door to Damien's room as said teen awoke from his slumber. The teen looked to be around eighteen as he had a mature look to his face. His hair was a short black cut and his eyes were a pale blue color. Damien was rather tall, however his build didn't give him an intimidating appearance. Now if you were to look at Damien when he was looking his best, you'd say he was actually a pretty good looking kid. But in his current condition, you'd probably feel it best to avoid him at all costs. His baggy eyes, his messed up hair, the little color in his skin, and the scowl on his face made him look like some sort of pissed off druggie.
Currently Damien was going through his morning ritual with a hot shower. As the hot water ran down his skin, he let out a sigh of contentment. This was one of the few real pleasures he had left in the real world. Everything about the real world had lost its touch now days and he found that more and more of his time was spent in his room, shut away from everyone; including his family. It's just that every time he saw them, every time he saw those fake smiles of theirs, those false words of welcome, he felt sick to his stomach. That's why he isolated himself, that's why he kept contact to a minimum, all for the sake of peace.
Finishing up his shower, Damien throw on a comfy gray shirt, a pair of black jeans, and his favorite white jacket and walked out of his room and into the hallway.Walking out into the kitchen, he threw a half hearted wave at his mother before his eyes landed on the simple brown package sitting on the counter. Eyes snapping to their full size, he hurried over to it before taking a look over it. 'To: Damien Wright.' That alone brought a smile to his face as he grabbed the box and tucked it under his arm.
Returning to his room, not listening or paying attention ton anything anyone around him as saying, he shut his door and plopped the package down on his bed. 'Could it be?' he thought eagerly as he opened the package. Seeing what lay inside, Damien could honestly say he felt his heart stop as he gazed down at the sleek helmet laying inside. What this was was one of the most advanced inventions to date, something that Damien believed would drag the world into the twenty-first century. The Nerve Gear. A fully immersible virtual reality helmet designed to completely immerse an individual into a virtual construct. In short, it took you into the virtual world.
Months ago Damien had begun to hear rumors on the inter web about a VRMMORPG in development. While exciting, he'd originally passed it up to hopeful rumors. But as more and more people began to talk about it, Damien began to become more and more invested with the idea. Then, just a few weeks ago, the game was set to be launched and a large demand began to go out for the game. Once the fact that only a limited amount of Nerve Gears were made reached everyone's ears, Demand skyrocketed. Thankfully for Damien, he'd been able to get into contact with an old friend of his who worked at a game store in Japan who'd made sure to send out a helmet to him as soon as possible. Thankfully it seemed to have arrived just in time as the game had only launched a short while ago.
Slowly taking the nerve gear out, Damien took a moment to admire the object in his possession. This was the answer to his escape from reality. Plugging in the helmet and loading up the VRMMORPG, Damien lay down in his bed and slowly slid the helmet onto his head.
The first thing he noticed was that the Nerve Gear seemed to be linking up to his brain functions as numerous screens flashed by his eyes. Then, with a bit of a flash, Damien lost the ability to see past the screen and found himself looking at a title screen. Grinning to himself, he entered and came to a character creation screen. Seeing that this would be the virtual reflection of himself, he tried to make him look like him somewhat. A bit of muscle tone here, a longer hairstyle there, and Damien was soon at the naming of his character.
Trying to think of a name that wouldn't sound too... japaneese but would at least sound interesting, he thought back on names until one snapped into his head. Perseus. The Greek hero and slayer of Medusa was one of Damien's favorite heroes while growing up. 'heh, maybe I'll live up to the name.' Unfortunately, it probably wouldn't be like that as everyone in the server would try to be the hero's of the story. 'Hopefully I won't have to deal with noobs who can't tell the difference between a stamina bar and a health bar.' At least mana was taken out of the game. While a bit risky, it would make the mechanics in the game much easier to preform.
Equipping a spear to his character, Damien, now named Perseus, entered into the world of Swords Art Online.
As the world came into focus, Perseus began to taste fresh air as wind blew through his now longer hair. Looking down at himself, he saw that he now seemed to wear some armor with a spear attached to his back. Taking it off, he swung it around a few times, trying to get a feel for the weapons weight. Strangely enough, the virtual speak actually held weight in this world. 'It seems that the Nerve Gear hooks up the the bodies nerves, giving items weight.' Of course it would probably give pain as well, but Perseus doubted that the pain would by anything too extreme. Maybe just enough to have players falter, but that would have to be looked into later. First things first, Perseus wanted to have a look around the area.

After stopping and leaning against one of the walls of the buildings, she watched other characters run past. It was strange, because she seemed to be able to run faster. Then she looked at her equipment stats and realized that she had chosen some of the lightest gear. She smiled a little as a pair of heavily armored character rushed past. They're going to have a heck of a time trying to dodge out of the way of attacks when the time comes...
Pushing some of her pink hair out of her face, she was amazed that it felt like real hair. She then patted down her pockets and backside, realizing that she could also feel her body as if it were real. This place is like another world altogether. I wonder if you can feel pain, though. She looked around and as she looked to the town square, she watched as a new player entered the server. He had longer hair and wielded a spear rather than a sword. She took out her rapier and twirled it about like she often did in the real world after winning a fencing match against an opponent. I don't know if I'd be able to wield a spear... or another type of blade for that matter.
Slowly, she walked out into the town square and was simply minding her own business when a person rushed past her, bumping her hard enough to make her run into the spear-wielding boy. With a gasp, she backed up, holding up her hands in apology, "S-sorry about that!" She said this before she looked to the side of of him, noting that she could see his screen name. ➽τrying to stay calm at this point would take serious skill, skill to block out the infants Ricci was so unfortunate to ride to school with and of course the excitement with Sword Art Online Beta servers going online in 15 minuets. This particular bus ride took eternity to get to his destination, it was if the bus loved stopping at red lights. Not only was the bus distracted, but so was the bus driver. He was constantly yelling at the high school children to quiet down, and tried to assert his dominance by pulling over and not departing until the kids sat quietly in their seats. Ricci was sitting in the front row window seat, quietly daydreaming while looking at the terrain fly by. The dreams consisted of what he imagined SAO would be like, these images were based off the pictures that the game creators posted online.Maybe I'll be a healer... wait is there even a healer class? No I'll be a quick dps class... Nah everybody and their mothers will do that. Tank... Yeah I'll be a tank, every game is lacking enough tanks.
➽τhe bus creaked loudly as it came to a slow stop, when the golden gates opened Ricci hoped over the boy next to him and dashed off the bus. It was a all out sprint to his house, there were to be no distractions, no saying hi to friends, no stopping at intersections, not even to re-tie his left shoelace that was dangling of the floor and into the air. Each footstep was more determined than the last, causing him to increase in speed. Ricci wasn't the greatest athlete in gym class, but with this new found inspiration he could have easily made the track team. Sweat began to drip down his face, these drips increased with size and quantity. The main cause was the sun that had been beating down on him, it tried to compensate with a slight breeze, but it was no help as the wind was working against Ricci. But these factors were not close enough to make him slow down, because his goal was in sight.
➽ яicci was almost home, the four feet hedges that guarded his front lawn was now the only obstacle remaining. It was a simple boss with a simple strategy, jump it. Sadly this is were not being a great athlete and being exhausted from the run came in, he attempted to jump the hedge but it would not let him so easily as the green beast took a hold of Ricci's legs. He face planted onto the grass that in this season was filled with more dirt than actual grass. Ricci scrambled to his feet and headed for the door, the front door didnt stand a chance. He read online that this new virtual program took a toll on your real body if you stayied in without properly taking care of your needs. Ricci planned on playing for as long as he could, so he would need to nueish his body. He swallowed a poorly prepared sandwich and juice from the cartoon whole, while swiftly walking to his room he passed by a post-it left by his mom. On these post-its were chores that he needed to finish, in all his life he has never held off or didn't do the chore. He felt horrible that he didn't listen to the post-it, but today was a long day in waiting.
➽ Sword Art Online were to be up in 5 minuets, this gave Ricci time to flip threw the NetGear manual. He skimmed most of the pages and held onto only the important information. Of course had read this manual over twenty times, but this was going to be the first time he was going to use this program, and everything had to be perfect. Ricci climbed into his bed, covering his body with his favorite blue fur based blanket, piled up his pillows to make sure his head was set at a safe degree, and then held the NetGear into his hands. His system looked as if it had never been touched, hardly and fingerprints shined as he rotated the piece. Ricci finally strapped the helmet on tight, one minuet remained, during this time he breathed in deep and starred at the ceiling. "Link Start"
➽яicci's mind was not quick enough to comprehind what he was going through, the flashing of lights were the only thing he would be able to remember. Next thing he would remember was the sight of this world, this new world that on pure sight dropped him to his knees. He teleported right outside the Town of Beginnings, he took his time to look out to the plains, the descending sun, and the river that held a strong current a couple yards away. Ricci then switched his gaze upon the town, already so many avatars filled the plaza, they were all entering town so Ricci did the same. This town had it all, great music, food shops at every corner, and wonderful people that were enjoying themselves. Ricci took this time to get familiar with the market, so he would know were to get various items he would need for his journey. The people in this game were so much different than the people in his real world, these new friends seemed to talk to everyone, nobody was discriminated against or excluded. On the way threw this town Ricci must have met twenty plus people, after he was done friending he would leave them to begin his training.
➽ нmm only a sword... I guess I'll have to buy a shield after today's training.A very low level boar stood a couple feet from Ricci, he was also not facing him so this would be a perfect oppurtinity for a attack. Ricci pulled out his longsword and crept on the monstrious boar, this boar was to busy eating grass to hear him. Ricci took a lot of time piror this event to learn the basic attack system, as he began to stalk his prey, he started the charge of his sword. This charge made the color of his sword change into a light blue neon. He charged to full power and attacked the beast, the beast took a lot of damage, but would not go down that easily. The boar roared at the new player and headed full charge at him. Ricci tried to think of what to do next, at the last second he decided to try and dodge the attack. This came at a succes, after dodging the attack his sword once again turned light blue and slashed the boars back, but this time it would fall. Ricci jumped with glee, he had killed his first monster, and with this he gained experience.
