"Oh! So far there has only been one customer. She's in there right now with mister Fayt." She nodded before looking around as though she were giving top secret information. "He's the fortune teller. He's really good, too."

Bartheyamus smilied again, still crouching to meet her eye level.
"Could you tell me the story of how you two met? How did you get into this profession?"
For a minute, Bartheyamus forgot she was a ghost.
"And if you don't mind..." he trailed off in hesitation "How--did you die?"

The ghost gave a small giggle. "I met mister Fayt a long long long time ago when I was still walking around in the underworld. I don't want to go to Heaven yet. I'm not ready." She shook her head quickly, still not wanting to move on in the afterlife. "There are still so many things I want to see!" She stopped, realizing that she had gotten away from her story. "Well, he told me that I could wander around here for awhile until I was ready." Her smile brightened as she remembered, but slowly began to fade as she thought of her death. "I died. Well, it was a really long time ago. I can't really remember much of it, but there were bandits and a village. My mommy hid me near a lake so that I would be safe. There were arrows too. Then a lot of water and I couldn't breath..." She looked down at the ground, shifting uneasily on her feet. "I think I fell asleep, but when I woke up it was dark, and there was a river and a boat, oh! and Mister Charon. He took me to the underworld."

He nodded sadly. The story was akin to his own in some ways. He wished he could have helped the girl, no one deserved to die so young. He shed a few tears for her, bowing his head so she didn't have to see.

Stepping forward cautiously, Okiku tried to look at the man's face. "Mister? Are you okay?"

Bartheyamus wiped his tears. He was crying all too much lately but then again, he had awakened from his slumber only a few decades ago so he was certain everything was starting to come back.
"Yes." he replied in strength "I'm quite alright."
"You're just a very brave girl--keeping your sunny disposition after everything that happened, I mean."

Okiku giggled. "Thank you, mister. You're really nice. Do you live in the big castle with everyone too?"

He nodded.
"I do, indeed, though I live in the netherregions of the castle. When you live in a crypt for so long, it's hard to live anywhere else. It's especially nice since it's devoid of any windows."
He thought for a moment.
"Say, if you don't wish to pass on to the afterlife so soon, why don't you live at the castle as well?"

Fayt leaned back in his chair, his hair covering his eyes from being seen.
"That is what most childishly view my trade to be.. I control the very fabric of 'Fate' itself, therefore, I can see anything that has been or will be. I can control whether or not to allow it to exist, or to remove it from existance."

Ilyia's eyes widened, quite impressed by such a claim, particularly given previously-mentioned reputation, though in truth that in itself explained the flawless streak. "I admit, I was unaware of such a circumstance," she stated, "though in such a light I would still know what would become of me, if you would."

The little ghost turned to look at the large castle in the distance. "Really?! Is that even allowed? I thought that to even go inside, you had to be super special or royalty. Like a princess!" In her mind's eye, she imagined everyone that went back and forth through the castle wearing fancy clothes and shiny crowns.

He chuckled.
"Of course not, my young lady. Do you see me as royalty?"
He threw his hands around, showcasing himself dramatically.
"I live in the basement. Say, you could come stay with me! I live in a crypt after all."
He smiled.
"That would be perfect for you."

Okiku's eyes grew wider than seemed possible. "Y-you would let me stay with you? That would be so much fun!" She danced around happily before pausing and bringing a small finger to her chin. "B-but what about mister Fayt? I would need to ask him if it was okay first."

He paused, forgetting all about the man in the booth. How foolish and inconsiderate of him. He wasn't about to tear this young girl away from her dear friend. Then, a thought occurred to him...
"He can stay too, I can move my things out of the storage room. I didn't come with much. I assume the storage room was there for some of the coffins. It would be fitting for you, I think, I hear the banter of spirits every night."

"Ooh! There are others like me around?" If it were possible, the little ghost would be jumping up and down in excitement. "That sounds like so much fun!"
