“I don’t know I think it’s the whole process of playing that makes it fun, that and they love to irritate foxes at times” She explained watching as Sor continued playing with the tail he was offered. Soon he picked up the pace as Yavie became more excited. “mmm hmmm yep battled off evil creatures. Of course one snuck up on him and I was forced to touch it and scare him to save him.” She stated figuring it was probably best if she dropped the keeper thing. “Um okay I wouldn’t mind if that’s what everyone really wants. I wouldn’t mind playing” She stated looking over at Ixen while walking over to pick Sor up by the back of his neck. He sighed and disappeared before going back to sitting on Samhain’s head.
“Hmm well how about we sit down first and we can eat these um snacks that we bought then perhaps to work off the meal a bit later that’s when we’ll play the game” Samhain replied deciding to work in both.

(Yavie is strange.. XP of all the fox voices in my head hers and Radu’s scare me the most. )
“OOOOOooo you scared Itov? Wow those must have been some scary monsters! I’m glad you saved him. Itov is my most favorite grey brother. Well he is also my most only grey brother. No I guess Tenma is really grey too but not Altan. I’m pretty sure he’s mostly red. Even then though Itov has back in his fur too so I guess he is not only grey but he is the most grey brother I have and he’s my favorite most grey brother.” Nodding Yavie keep rambling as though what she said was making perfect sense. “Oh that sounds like fun eating is important to build up energy. If you didn’t eat you wouldn’t be able to do anything. I like fruity things. Hey do ghosts eat? I’d feel bad eating in front of a poor ghost who couldn’t eat anything. Oh! What if the ghost starts playing without us?” Tearing up Yavie looked hurt. “I wanna play with the ghost, they’ll wait nicely for us to finish our snacks first right?”
Smiling warmly Ixen could have kissed Samhain. She was definitely a keeper. Picking the middle sensible and safe path to make everyone as happy as possible with a compromise was defiantly not something he had anticipated from her. Even more impressive the sweet vixen had been thoughtful enough to get snacks. “Thank you Samhain. That is very thoughtful of you taking my old bones into consideration.” Winking he gestured back to where he had been laying down before. It would be a pleasant spot to eat. Trotting back Ixen thought things over. Even if she and Itov broke up Ixen fully intended to let her know she was welcome around any time she wanted. He liked her quite a bit and he was certain Yuki would love her. Now how was he going to tell his most beloved mate that this girl was important enough that Itov might have kits with her one day. Had the two even though about kits yet. Suddenly Ixen felt old, so very old. Here his son was bringing home a mate, and a decent one at that.
Nodding to Samhain’s thoughts Itov tried hard to keep himself from grinning like the cat who ate the canary. His mate was not only beautiful but considerate. He loved her. Following his father to the shade of a large peaceful tree Itov laid down and padded the ground inviting Shamain to join him. Yavie bounced over still worried the ghost might start off without her. “Don’t worry Yavie. I’m sure Samhain’s friend will wait. Who knows perhaps he’ll play with you while you eat.” When he said that Yavie instantly brightened up. Chuckling Itov had to admit his spazzy sister was defiantly someone he was glad to have on his side when things went down. She was as innocent as a kit and could guilt his father’s into anything. I feel bad for her mate. The poor fool has no idea.. I wonder where she even learned to do that….
(for the record I blame her father Yuki)

“Yep they where, very evil you keep your eyes off them for one second and they come back to life” Samhain pointed out nodding, she knew it was a bit childish not to say what they were but that was fine with her. Besides she often tricked foxes for a hobby old habbits died hard. “Mmm hmmm I see” she pointed out to Yavie’s explanation she didn’t get said explanation at all but she got the jist of it.
“Yes storing energy is very helpful we don’t want to run our selves down. Then we couldn’t play as much” she pointed out nodding. “Um no ghosts don’t eat; they just kind of get energy from hovering around or something like that.” She tried to answer. “Don’t worry sor was a good kid he wouldn’t go and play with out us. Besides he did a lot of alone play time when he was a kit so he likes to play with others now that he can.” She answered. She then turned towards her father in law. “Oh you aren’t that old, besides you cant act really old unless you are a great great grandfather” She nodded in a teasing way. “ah Sor has to store a bit of energy before he goes and plays again but don’t worry he’ll be messing with your hair in a second”

Gasping Yavie stared at Samhain wide eyed believing Samhain’s word. “They come back to life!?” She shuddered visibly. Still it was so nice to have a sister that understood her! Most foxes got fed up or couldn’t keep up but Samhian could. Even papa Ixen and papa Yuki could be such weird foxes in how they could keep up with some of what she said but not all of it. Yavie was so excited that she nearly rolled over she was wriggling so much. On her stomach she pawed at the ground and went forward a few inches. “Sor… Sor.. Oh I like that name! Hey hey Itov you should name one of your kits Sor if you have any.” Waving a paw at her brother she didn’t know why he looked down and seemed red in the face.
Laughing bowed his head to acknowledge his defeat to Samhain’s wit. “You certainly are a breath of fresh air dear girl. Still I can’t help but feel old when my son brings home such a pretty female. I’ll be ancient when I have great great grandkits. I do hope you’ll stop by often with any kits you do have.. I want to see my own mate faint.” Grinning like a mischievous little brat Ixen could just imagine Yuki fainting at the sight of grandkits. Still hearing about names for kits made Ixen feel old.. after all it was one thing to joke about having kits. Quite another to have names picked out for them. Still he looked at his son and his stomach asked the question before he could.
Passing some berries to his father Itov tried not to blush himself to death and attempted to hide it with a snicker. “Just imagine how Grandfather Sin must feel.” He smiled at Yavie as she burst out into giggles. The worry things might now go well with his family slowly evaporated. His family might be strange but they meant well and were good.

“Oh yes once my mother drop kicked one into the wall and it was seriously dead we checked. Then we got to talking and when we looked back the body had disappeared. We weren’t in a place where something else would get to it either.” Samhain shuddered. Her mother and she had quickly disappeared. The event still creped her out today, she quickly went back to safer topics which was rather easy seeing as her sister in law was currently wriggling. “Yes it’s a very nice name.” she stated with a nod. She was rewarded by a slight pat to the ear from said name sake. Samhain paused for a second… kits. Her? Oh dear. “It would be a nice name but she didn’t think she was quite ready for that.
She turned towards her father in law for a safer change in topic. “Well you shouldn’t we modifoxes have the ability to be alive for many generations. You should never think of yourselves as old. As they say the devil lurks in idleness or something like that” She smiled. “I shall be sure to stop by when you are a grandfather. As my parents where a bit on the bad side I wouldn’t dare keep mine away from their family. Ah he would faint?” She asked titlting her head to the side. Wouldn’t that be a bad thing?

Samhain’s face was so funny when Yavie had mentioned kits. Unable to help herself she burst out into giggles and rolled over. She finally managed to get a hold over her giggles but then Samhain asked if papa Yuki would faint and Yavie started giggling again. Rolling over to her side she looked at her sister in law and nodded. “Papa Yuki still doesn’t like to think of us as grownups. So if he sees his grandkits papa Ixen is right he would faint.” Rolling her eyes in a dramatic fashion Yavie pretended to be papa Yuki and feigned fainting. She opened one eye to see how her performance rated.
Chucking at his daughter’s antics Ixen nodded to Samhain. He was really liking this girl more and more. “I am glad to see you know the importance of family.” Ixen who had grown up without knowing his own birth mother until he already had a mate felt that family was very important. Popping a berry into his mouth he mulled over what Samhain had said about not feeling old. He had kits and with time would have grandkits. That was enough to make any fox feel old no matter how long they lived. Perhaps she would come to see that with time as well.
Sighing lightly and smiling at his sister and his mate Itov wondered what it would be like to have kits. Scotching closer to Samhain without realizing it he suddenly realized his side fur was touching hers. A static shock raced through him but he didn’t move away. He wished he had something he could contribute to the conversation, yet he felt tongue tied and as so often happened in a crowd of foxes Itov became nothing more than a silent observer. It was no surprised that others had mistaken him for a ghost or demon. Still he couldn’t think of anywhere else he would rather be than at Samhain’s side. Leaning into her his eye lids relaxed and nearly closed until only a sliver of ruby could be seen.

“Hey kids are special little things you should be prepared for them, and blushing is a natural response when your not quite ready” Samhain replied scrunching her nose up when her sister in law dissolved into the giggles. Ah well she supposed that was a normal thought as well. Her mother used to think like that until Samhain had let it slip she had her grandmother’s gift, and then she hadn’t been a model parent. None the less she let out an amused smile at Yavie’s performance.
“Ah my grandmother made sure to hammer those values into me, ever since my mom failed spectacularly at being a good mother. She started out as a good mother but I was a bit to much for her.” Samhain pointed out in a bitter sweet tone. So yes she would show her kits off to their grandmother when she came to visit, even though she hoped with all her might they didn’t end up with her gift and she would definitely bring them around to see Ixen and Yuki. Plus she would always consider herself young. Her grandmother acted that way even on her death bed, said it made life more enjoyable.
Seeing as Itov had moved closer she reached over and muzzled his cheek ignoring the static charge for the second time and spent a while staring at just him before looking back at the small family group. ‘go to sleep if your tired silly’ she whispered before munching on her own berries.

A grin spread over Yavvie’s face as she watched her sister in law smile. “You know I don’t know if you’re ready or not, but I know you’ll make a good mama.” Yavie’s tail waged once in a very matter-of-fact kind of way. There was no doubt that her mind that Samhain could be as stuffy as any other adult if the orange vixen put her mind to it. She also had the potential to be a lot of fun if she wanted to as well. On top of which Yavie and she could go playing with ghosts and looking for pixies. Maybe she should introduct Itov to Yabetz and see if they could get along.
Ixen frowned when he heard that Shamain’s mother had found the girl too much to handle. Was it her ability that made her mother turn her back? I don’t care what power a kit is born with. It’s still important to take care of them. If a parent doesn’t do so who will? After all not all kits have the luxury of a good grandparent. “I’m sorry to hear about the rift between you and your mother. When I came out of my BCR I found myself alone and wandered off. I didn’t even know my mother until I was an adult with a mate and six kits on the way” Smiling ruefully Ixen couldn’t help but blush just a bit at how young and rash he had been. Kits were a lot of work.
The static shock made some of Itov’s fur stand at odd angles but he loved the attention Shamain gave to him. Feeling comfortable he whispered back.“MMmm You know I think I’ll do just that. After all once Yavie has us up and running we won’t be able to stop until she runs out of energy and drops. It takes a while.” Snuggling up next to Shamain so that he could wrap his tail about her Itov laid his head down and began to doze off. Samhain was set as far as he was concerned. His family liked her and she could at least tolerate his family.

Samhain smiled and ruffled his hair a bit before turning back to her in laws. “I hope so, but then again one never really knows until they’re faced with bcr’s” Samhain mused. Of course unless they where raging serial killers she was pretty sure she would be prepared for anything. Then again maybe she would be prepared for the raging Serial Killer thing as well. “but thank you for the confidence” she let out a very big smile before taking a deep breath. “I just hope they are normal like Itov” she admitted.
“its okay, I had a wonderful grandmother who had my ability and I found out later mom was scared because she didn’t understand the whole thing and could only hear the ghosts not see them. I know other foxes aren’t so fortunate and I think some times that just makes us prepared to be better parents for the next generation” Samhain mused shrugging. “Of course we need to be prepared not to get carried away but…”

Yavie shrugged as best she could. “I guess, but I know that you’ll be fine no mater what.” Yavie thought for a moment. “What’s wrong if the kits end up with your ability? I think it would be fun and wonderful. Think of all the people you could help find closure if they were still really really sad.” Yavie blinked slowly. “it seems like a good thing if you have the ability to help other foxes out.”
Ixen frowned. “I see. Well I feel bad for you mother, though I still don’t think I would be able to have a decent conversation with her for a while. ” He chuckled. “Well you don’t need to panic about it, nor do you need to rush it. Still when the time comes and when you shouldn’t worry whether the kits have the power or not. Regardless I know the little ones will learn how to behave and will do just fine in life.”
Itov nodded with his father’s words and started to drift off into sleep.

“Well its kind of because of Itov, he cant see them so I know he feels left out when ever we go to the graveyard and I talk to them. Plus other foxes tend to shun you when you can see things they cant. I don’t want my children to feel left out and or Itov to feel left out. I know he would take it all in stride but” Samhain trailed off. It seemed like a very dominant trait. Could there be some compromise?
“Well it happened awhile ago, and I had a good friend as well, but don’t worry I’m not rushing it” Samhain nodded smiling. “and I know it shouldn’t be something I worry about really, but I do”

Yavie frowned as she thought about what Samhain said. “Itov might not be able to see them, but he likes you well enough, and has you to tell him what’s going on. So it’s not like he is completely left of things. Besides Itov is weird and just accepts things. Like when I told him that I had a bumble bee named Janis, or that I went pixie hunting and didn’t find anything, but I know that there are pixies out there. I don’t know why he’s like that but he is.”
Ixen nodded what Samhain said made sense. Logically though if the grandmother had the ability and mother had some form of it also then it was most likely something passed along. “Yavie is right. Itov accepts things he can’t comprehend. Perhaps it was growing up looking after Yavie and keeping her out of trouble.” Ixen looked pointed at his daughter and she blushed and suddenly found her paws fascinating. “You need never worry about him being left out if you tell him things so he can accept them. As for your children.. they will never be left out in this family. We seem to collect the odd and eccentric with no negative repercussions so far.”
Itov heard mummers of talking. Things he couldn’t quite comprehend. Samhain was worried. About what? Was there a spider crawling near her? If so father Ixen could deal with it. His family always looked out for each other.
(Wow I love the fact that Sin and his brothers don’t get along (save Yuki of course) but Ixen thinks of his family as getting along just fine.)

Samhain just smiled and nodded, she knew they where trying to make her feel better and she supposed there was a lot of truth in the matter but she also had known in the graveyard Itov felt left out if only a little bit. He might accept it but if every one of their kits had her ability then wouldn’t he feel left out if only subconsciously. Well, she admitted after taking a deep breath, the best thing to do would be to just deal with it and find a solution when the time came.
“Hmm speaking of pixies, they do exist because I’ve seen a pixie fox….” Samhain pointed out. One of her good friends Arcana, had a sister who seemed to be dating one.” Samhain smiled trying to shift the subject to slightly happier material.

“WHAT?!?” Yavie didn’t seem to roll to her feet as much as instantaneously transport to them. Her eyes were wide and her ears where straight up. Her tail was perfectly still in a halfway up wag. A small cloud of dust was drifting off in the direction she has swept it. “You’ve seen one?!? Did you ask to go dancing and eat some food? Oh where did you see it? What color was it? Was it a nice pixie? Could you introduce us? Are they really really small? What do pixies eat? Do they like to fly in the mist? Why aren’t there more of them?”
Ixen flinched at his daughter’s abrupt change in posture. He gave a sit-and-be-still look, though it was to no avail. Rolling his eyes he gave up and set his head down clearly in surrender. He looked at Samhain out of the corner of his eye. “Well your doomed.” He grinned and covered his eyes with a paw pretending to be able to sleep through the barrage hurled at the orange fox.
Itov jumped up in shock not really awake at the noise. He stared at Yavie and blinked a few times as she spoke trying to make out what she was rambling about. He looked about for danger and didn’t see any. Confused he sat back down still quick twitchy and listened before realizing that Yavie was speaking to Samhain. “What did you say to her Samhain?”

Samhain giggled, she didn’t think she had ever seen anyone with this much energy before. “No, not exactly I haven’t seen her yet. I’m afraid I haven’t talked to her either. I just heard about her from my friends sister. Um she’s about the size of us a regular fox and from the brief description I assume she was nice. No pixies cant fly, at least fox pixies. Um there are a couple more but I guess theirs is a rare blood line and most of the time it just gets dominated by the nomal fox gene” Samhain answered with a smile.
“nothing Itov, we’re just talking about pixies” She nodded and turned back towards her sister in law. Seriously she wasn’t that bad. Sure she was extremely hyper but nothing Samhain couldn’t sit through.
