i listen to whatever is appealing to my ears and thoughts.

some artists are alice nine, prince, eddy grant, pink floyd, dir en grey, royksopp, bob marley, various djs, tupac, the flaming lips, yes, RZA, daler mendhi, the beatles, nobuo uematsu, bjork, danger gang, elliot smith, ashamedly? lady gaga [debating], various classical arrangements, and much more.

i am always open to music, and willing to give it a listen.

I listen to just about anything except rap music. In my personal opinion, rap is not real music. It's just poetry put to a repetitive beat. Anyways, what I listen to most is old rock, alternative rock, heavy metal, classical orchestra, and various types of music with Japanese singers(their voices relax me).

Korn may be a bit heavier than some of the stuff I've listened to, but I know what you mean exactly. I think so long as you don't have the music directing your emotions(for example, listening to Korn so that you will feel those feelings) it's fine. Personally, when I was recovering from a rather abusive situation, I listened to Three Days Grace, Metallica, and some similar bands. The songs reflect the emotions and then the emotions are easier to deal with.
