Most of my friends don't really know who he is, apart from maybe knowing one of his more mainstream songs, so they don't really tease me about it. However, my older brother won't leave me alone about liking him. He'll call him gay, pansy, drag queen, even *****, after watching Labyrinth. mad
Neither of my parents have ever liked him, and get annoyed when I talk about him too much, which is fairly often.

My friend constantly bothers me about liking Bowie. It pisses both me and my mom off. I got on a fight with the kid over it (like, big time fight)... Also, one of my classes were doing a game with teams and my team couldn't think of a name. Thus, I suggested the 'Spiders from Mars'. Needless to say I was laughed at and asked 'Where the hell did you get that stupid name?'. (And the person who called it a stupid name was probably just jelous...His team name was the 'Tostadas'...Seriously, wtf?) But, alas, it became our team's name. I tried to explain where I got the name from, but no one really got it, except the teacher =3= I was ridiculed about that for the rest of the day. Fun. I've also argued with people who said his name wrong... Seriously, how hard is it to say 'Bowie'??

I go to an artsy charter school where most people know who Bowie is, and generally like him. Still, mentions of him are usually accompanied by a friendly jest at my expense (or a patient sigh if I mention him again, which I don't mind at all.

The phrase "He looks like a zombie drag queen on crack" has been mentioned twice in my presence by my friends... sigh. Kids these days.
And "crotchety old man" by my friend's parents. Parents these days.
Most people I know at school only know David Bowie as "that guy I'm obsessed with/always talking about." stressed
Some of my friends said his tights in Labyrinth scarred them for life... burning_eyes
This one guy said he thought Bowie had died, (this is kinda disgusting...) choking on his own semen... so much abuse. crying
I'm glad that here I can find persons to share my love of his wonderous-ness. heart

Ugh, I hate rude people!! Like just because you like someone that's different from what other people like doesn't mean they can start judging! And what pisses me off the most is if you got something rude to say don't say it at all! Like when a person likes rap and what not they think that's the Sh*t, but when it comes to DB for them they're like " That's gay as hell!" Well you know what!? They are gay as hell for wearing their pants around their ankles! ( For thoses who do some ) So before I get judged by someone they better have a good excuse. We all have things different but just because others are different from you doesn't mean they can talk crap to you. If I get teased about it I just say they are jealous of him. Just saying. If I want to love David Bowie then HECK I will! No one is going to stop me. xP
