"No, it's fine. Actually, I was frustrated because I've been cooped up inside for the past couple of days. It's chilly outside, and I'm kinda cold-blooded, so..." Maxis explained, shrugging his shoulders.
"So, I'll guess I'll give you a bit of a tour. I can't show you some of the other stuff yet, because we're not allowed to go to the lower levels unsupervised, but I'll show you what I can, okay? Maybe you can ask Mr Onasi or someone to show you the lower levels later," he said.

"That sounds great!" Kira said appreciatively. Silently she told herself she was going on this tour to see the building and not put of the inevitable phone call to her parents. As the two started walking Kira turned to him.
"What is so special about the lower levels, its not like this school has some crazy high-tech facist machine or something." she said laughing. "I mean its just a the medical room and extra training rooms right?" She said no a little nervous that there was some crazy space age tech in the basement.

"Well, I'm gonna go search for something to munch on. I'll bring you something if I find anything." Kara said to Valerie and Mizu as she stood up and walked out into the kitchen.
It took her a few minutes before she found a bag of pizza rolls stuffed in the way back of the freezer. Kara checked the experation date before putting the bite sized pizza snacks on a plate and then putting the plate in the microwave. She set the timer for the instructed time and hopped up on the counter to sit while she waited.
Grocery shopping is so needed. Wonder who's turn it is? Mine was the last time but then again...I'm really one of the few people that actually stay in the house longer then a few minutes at a time other then to sleep. She sighed and looked up at the ceiling.
The microwave's annoying beeping brought her out of her trance and she got off the counter and got the food out of the microwave. Opening the fridge she saw two cans of Dr. Pepper, she grabbed them with her free hand then kicked the fridge door closed with a foot before walking out to the living room.
Kara placed the plate on the table along with the extra soda. "Dig in." She said to Valerie as she cracked open her can of soda.

"Well, it's a little bit more advanced than that down there, but I'll let one of the teachers explain that. They know more about it than I do," Maxis explained as they walked. This was probably the longest he'd spent with a person from outside Xavier's as far back as he could remember. His unique condition tended to limit social opportunities. Right now, he was just hoping that he wouldn't mess up and do something stupid.
"On the main floor, we've got the classrooms, and the teachers' rooms are down that corridor. There's also the kitchen over there," he said, pointing out various features of the mansion. "Up the stairs are the dorms, but I think you've already found those because you're not lugging around a bunch of luggage around with you, and your hair is wet and you smell like soap," Maxis added.

Kira looked at Maxis with touch of surprise as he described everything around the mansion, letting the "advanced" lower levels drop from the conversation. Something told her she would find out soon enough. She settled into the tour and relaxed for what felt like the first time in ages. It as so odd, not running anymore.
Kira looked a little more amused when he began to list all the reasons she should already know where the dormatories were. "Don't tell me you have a super sense of smell too." she said with a laugh. "You are just too cool."
Looking around she became more thoughtful before speaking again. "So how many other "students" are there around here." she said, her voice suddenly soft besides the emphesis she put on students, almost as if it were a bad thing.

Maxis blushed visibly, or at least as visibly as one could through scales, at Kira's complement. Very few people thought he was "cool". Most people actually thought he was a little weird. Except maybe Kurt or Mr McCoy, but that's more because they were kinda in the same boat as him, but furry instead of scaly.
"Well, um, I think there's at least a couple dozen other students right now, but I never really counted. I'm sure you'll meet most of them sooner or later," he explained.

Kira looked thoughtfully at Maxis as he explained how many students there were and realized she had no idea what was going to happen to her as a student. "So do you think I could meet one of the teachers and figure out just what I'm supposed to be doing around here?" She asked.
"I'll need to call my parents tonight, you know explain the whole running away thing. I just hoping I can give them some solid proof that I did the right thing." Kira finished a little wistfully. As if the entire cause would be hopeless.

Looking down at the ground she saw the mansion. Smiling she started her decent towards the ground below. A few moments later she landed softly infront of the front door. Inhaling and then exhaling a deep breath she knocked on the door and nibbled on her bottom lip nervously.
I hope the rest are as nice as Mr. Xavier. She thought taking a look around while she waited for someone to answer the door.

A battered four by four truck came up the path towards Xaviers institute. The driver was an older gentleman and the passenger, a young lady. It came to a squeaking halt at the gates and the driver leaned out to hit the buzzer. “Thanks fer the ride dad, you really didn’t have to take me all the way down here.” She said as they waited for someone to open the gates for them.
”Hey, I wasn’t about to send my little girl off on her own now. Besides it gets me out of the house and away from your mother for a while.” He said with a snicker.
“If mom finds out yer taking time off from her she’ll pluck your eyebrows one hair at a time.” The young lady said rolling her eyes to the sky. “But yea, I can’t blame you. Mom’s been seriously PMS’ing lately. Mostly about me but then that’s nothing new.” She said with a shrug. “Am I getting a baby brother or sister?” She asked suddenly and got an uncomfortable cough in response. “Yes!” She cheered pumping her fist in the air. “I’m not the baby anymore!” She said brightly as her father shook his head. “What???” She asked with wide eyes innocence.

(So since we're going back to the beginning, X-23's back to being after Wolverine, right? Right. Let the spying commence!!!!)
X-23 had found him. Or at least the place where he was staying. It had taken her several months to pinpoint Weapon X's location, but she'd done it. She had managed to sneak into a top secret SHIELD facility and hack into their database.
She was currently looking at a screen that showed a picture of a school. Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters was it's name, and the page it was on was linked to several others, including one with information on Weapon X. It seemed that he was going by the name Logan now. The idea that their names should be remotely similar caused her anger to flare, and she growled, her eyes narrowing as she looked at his picture. Logan's picture showed her other subtle similarities and her rage over took her momentarily, and she shredded the screen with her two hand claws. The alarms began to sound, and she was snapped back to herself.
"Stupid! Stupid! Stupid," she muttered at herself. Of course she looked a little like him, she was his clone for heaven's sake. She shouldn't have let her anger get out of control over such a trivial detail. Now she had to get out of here fast. At least she'd thought to memorized the address as soon as she'd seen it.
X-23 sprinted away from the computer room, in the opposite direction from which she'd come in. She had memorized all the possible escape routes before she'd even set foot in the building, and the best option in her current situation, was just up ahead. She heard the sound of running boots enter the computer room behind her, and she sped up. She turned the corner seconds before the door she'd left through was opened. She was in the clear for the moment.
The door to the stairs was just up ahead, and she burst through it, running up the stairs as fast as she could to get to the roof. She heard angry shouts below, and a couple of gunshots went off in the stairwell. She hadn't needed motivation for getting out as fast as possible, but now she had it anyway. She reached the rooftop exit and dashed out the door and off into the night.

It was another cold February day in Bayville, and Rogue was glad that the weather gave her a legitimate excuse for being in several layers of clothes. She always felt more comfortable when there was as little chance as possible for her skin to come into contact with anyone else's, but in the summertime she tended to get odd looks if she wore long sleeves. Today, the only strange thing anyone might have commented on was the fact that she was wearing biker gloves indoors. She smiled to herself in the mirror and decided to go see what everyone was up to.
She walked downstairs and saw that Maxis was in the middle of a conversation with someone she didn't know. Rogue guessed that the girl was new, and headed in their direction to introduce herself. She was half way between them and the stairs when there was a knock on the door.
"I'll get it!! she called, her southern accent coming though loud and clear.
Rogue walked over to the door and pulled it open. A girl was standing there, looking rather nervous. "Hi. Can I help you?" Rogue asked her.

The door opened as she was about to knock again. Quickly putting her hand down she bit her lip and managed to say, "Uh...P-professor Xavier h-he said I could stay here. I-is he home?" Nervous was an understatment. Sarah was downright scared.
She looked up at the taller girl and smiled nervously. "Sorry I had a long flight and I'm really nervous." She said softly as she looked away out of emberassment.

"Well, I don't think that there's much for you to do today. And if there's anything important, someone'll come find you, so you don't really need to worry about that. I guess that's all there really is to the tour," Maxis replied, scratching his head. "So, um, yeah. It was really nice meeting you. Not many people think I'm "cool". So, thanks for that," he added, trying to make conversation.

Rogue smiled at the girl in front of her. "Yeah. He's here. Come on in."
She backed out of the doorway and let the girl through. "Follow me. I'll show you where the Professor's office is. I'm Rogue by the way. What's your name?" she asked as she started towards the Professor's office. Mentally she called out to Prof. X, "Professor, there's a girl here that says you told her she could stay here. I'm bringing her to the office."

X-23 slipped into the darkness, leaving the SHIELD facility behind her. By the time the sun rose and the new day started, X-23 was well on her way to Xavier's. SHIELD Central, the base X-23 had infiltrated was in New York City, and by her standards of travel was just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the address she'd found for the school.
She reached Westchester County a little after noon, and was within spying distance of the School a few hours later. She'd learned enough about the inhabitants from the SHIELD computer to know not to go near the perimeter until after dark, so she decided to spend the rest of the day observing the mansion's entrance from the woods. She also made use of her time circling the mansion and it's grounds in order to find the best way in once night fell.
((I decided to post an entire day for X-23 because there wasn't enough in her day to merit more than one post. She'll wait in the woods until it's night for everyone else.))

Kira grinned and was just about to reply to Maxis when she started yawning. Blushing she moved back from the boy a little bit, holding her right arm to her side with her left.
"Sorry, its been a long, long day. Thanks for showing me around, but I really should give my parents a real phone call now." Her face suddenly dropped when she remembered why she was really here. The tour had distracted her and put off the talk she was bound to have with her parents.
As she moved towards the girls dormotories she turned back to the lizard boy, "I'll see you tomarrow?" She asked hopefully of the only person she had known long enough to even consider friendship.

She stepped into the large foyer and looked at the taller girl. Rogue, she said her name was. "I'm Sarah. It's nice to meet you." She said and bowed her head slightly then followed her down the hall towards the Professor's office. "Wow...this place is alot bigger then I thought it would be." She said in awe.
