My dad is British, so he grew up with it, and he throughly enjoys it still. Since he was into it, he introduced me to the universe(s) of Time Lords, Daleks, and Cybermen. I thought it was really weird at first, thinking all the aliens looked cheaply done. Then as time went on, I started to love it.
My Father was and still is a Whovian, and I am too. heart
(He got me a Sonic Screwdriver pen for Christmas, it is now and forever my lucky pen.)

imacashew My Father was and still is a Whovian, and I am too. heart My father was a Whovian too! He stopped for a while because there were bits that were cut crying But now he's back on the track! blaugh

There were Doctor Who cameos in the second Hugo game, Robot Chicken, Family Guy and The Simpsons (specifically of the Fourth Doctor), so I looked it up.
Now I'm wondering if the First Doctor Who DVD set I get should be the first First Doctor serial, the last Third Doctor serial (to set up for watching the awesome Tom Baker episodes), The Key to Time, or the first Tom Baker serial.

well, a few years ago they were showing showing some old episodes, and i saw a bit of one, but i only really watched it at the start of last year. it is the only thing that i think i am classified as a fan for. But David Tennant is my favorite. i was so sad when he ended a few weeks ago (im an aussie, so we got it a it later.)

Heh, this is going to make me the nerdiest 14 year old alive, but i got hooked on the theme music. That's right, the theme music. It has one of the most awesome theme songs i have ever heard, and my friends was like, oh, watch this, and of corse i was like, ill just watch the start and try not to get hooked because it will make me more of a nerd, so i will soon need to get sock suspenders, glasses and some whiteness. But then i heard the theme music and i was like "OMG THAt IS AWESOME!!!" and then i watched t and got hooked, again, mosty from the music. I love all the pentatonic chords in minor and all the different charecters theme music, which is one one f the things that i missed in the third and fourth series, rose's theme. And the way that whenever they are in torchwood they mix the torchwood theme in as an underlying melody. plus, i knda though David Tennant was cute, dorky and insane as the doctor. My kinda guy. Just make him about ten, fifteen years younger and i will have the perfect guy

Oh dear. Well my best friend; Fayth. Put on "Blink" Because i'm deathly afraid of statues. As i was freaking out the entire episode, but being a sci-fy nerd as I am; I was like "omg this show is actually pretty cool!" So from that day, I started watching all of them, and fell in love with this show.
But I must say David Tennant is... *love sigh* My favorite Doctor of all time. I'm skeptical about the new guy.. :/

i was introduced to doctor who from one of my friends but it wasnt very long time ago, like in the 4th series so i watched them from the 1st series and it was great.
the doctor is really cool. end of story

I love it because:
1) I'm American and I love British accents.
2) It's a really well-written show, and it transcends the sci-fi genre. The show can go anywhere or when, and some of the characters are absolutely fantastic.
3) Every episode is an adventure, which I absolutely love.
4) David Tennant is HOTT!!! mrgreen

I think everyone knows David Tennant is hot...and they did a great job on the show. Oh, plus the music and plot and all that. So I'm going to say the thing that gets me that I don't think has been mentions though it may have...
To be HONEST, I'd have to say I love it because it changes so much! New doctors, new Tardis every once in a while, new companions, new freaking sonic screwdrivers! New DALEKS!
I love the change. It flows well with the show and just became the best part for me.

i like doctor who so much because have u ever seen a show with aleins time travelers and the tardis it's gotta be the best show in the world. my brother showed me the episode with rose and i have been hooked on the show since then but i sure do miss rose

My reason isn't because David Tennant is hot. No, that came after I learned about the show.
But it's because... it captures myself in a way. I adore Science Fiction and History and the way it melds together is breathtaking.
Plus, The Doctor himself is so dynamic. An alien that cares so much about The Earth even though we destroy ourselves is amazing.
