Spider-man - Peter Benjamin Parker (616)

"Trust me mister Cross, the Daily Bugle persecutes a good name all the time, it would be a first for them to actually gain support in bashing someone just trying to make a living."He crossed his arms over his chest as he decided to brainstorm. As Peter listened to his new companion he learned a little more than he needed to know; if he was aware of the Daily Bugle, he knew of the "Spectacular Spider-man" that was a known New Yorker and hero. However, his identity, was still not known to the public, greatly in part to deals made in the past. He had to sympathize with the guy though, he was transformed into Spider-man, not born this way. It had to be hard to have so many people bothering him.

He tried to check his wrist, checking his cartridges for any slippage. Everything was in order as he carefully could inspect with his own two fingers."Well, looks like we're both stuck here for now, my best idea would be to not spend it making a picnic out of the side of this deli. I'm trying to learn more about this place so the best way to do that is to investigate it; Gotham is the area and Batman apparently would be some guy flying around here that might be of aid to us if we can find him. As for your book, sorry, if you tell me the title I'll try to read it when the time proves more appropriate."He shot a web line out expecting his companion to follow. He jumped off the side of the building and started to travel, whipping his feet forward quickly to make sure his speed was kept up. He might have been able to run fast, but swinging made things go by way faster.

"Good thing it's not a case of me re-learning how to use my powers, falling right now would probably mean a visit to the tooth fairy...or a morgue."

William chuckled, "If we ever get back to New york I'll send you a 1st edition of every book. I think you might enjoy my latest. Tales of the Silk: Book 1 'The trap makers' sons'. It's a story of a spider cross-species who is struggling to find out who he is while being continually compared to a stranger who turns out to be his father." Then He watched as the webslinger began his web swinging. He let Spider-man get ahead of him by a couple buildings before he jumped forth; his legs propelling him forward after the hero and he soon landed on the side of a building ahead of Spiderman, on his hands and feet. And As Spiderman would change direction, William would jump to follow.

Emily let out a small chuckle. "If it's worth any sort of value? I've seen him take things as small as family jewelry to things as large as museum theft. If it needs pawned, sold, or needs to disappear, he will make money off of it. Provided it's not too hot of an item or can be traced back to him." she replied, looking over at the small bag. "I'm sure you could get him out of his office to pawn off something that looks costly. Keep him longer if you attach some sort of story to them that makes them seem like they're even more of a "special item"."

"Good. The diamonds in the bag will provide a reason for me to be there and I have a story about how I obtained them. I can goes as the Count and say the mask if just a way to be sure I am not seen with the diamonds. When I bring up the story I will lead him out of the office. That is when you will have your window to get in, extract the information and get out. If all goes well not only do we walk away with the information we need I may in fact make some profit. Which I will share..." Edmond said the last part a little quieter than the rest of his plan.

Emily smiled. This just might work... and if he bought her enough time, she might be able to download whatever files Cobblepot had brought up earlier today. Get all the information that he had gathered for Vandal Savage rather than trying to piece together from what he had only printed out.

"Might as well keep whatever you make. I don't make much of a pay, but Cobblepot technically pays me already. And you sound as though you've had a rough day as well. Might as well get something good out of it." she replied. Then she stood up from her chair. A sharp hiss under her breath as she moved her back. The medical patch was beginning to wear off.

"I'll just need to pick up a few things from home. I never have the chance to get to Cobblepot's main computer alone for more than a minute, so I never have a reason to have the travel devices on my person." she added, then began to put her helmet back together. Leaving the digital portion of it off of course.

She paused half way thought as a thought passed her. "It's...on the way to the Lounge from here. I can either give you a sign that I've arrived at the Lounge later, or you can follow me. This is... quite a large olive branch. Only fair that I allow you the option of visiting my main base of operations." she offered. He could have allowed her to believe that he was a different person still. Or even just revealed who he was but left the whole 'this is my hide out' part out. She felt almost obligated to return the huge leap of trust.

Edmond nodded to Emil and then took out a piece of paper from a drawer in his desk. He then produced a pen from on top of it and began writing down a series of numbers. More than the standard phone number yet less than a computer code."I would love to see your base, believe me I would, but I will not have time. setting up a meeting will likely take up any free time I have. I will go to the Lounge and request to see Cobblepot. You go to your base and gather your equipment. When you are there and ready call me on this number. It can not be traced or listened in on and I can say you are a business partner interested in the diamonds if anyone gets curious." Edmond said as he slid the piece of paper over to her. He then crossed over to the wall displaying his suits and he looked through the masks. He had one that had microscopic ultraviolet lights in it. It would be the best to keep him from being seen on camera because the lights interfered with the image. "I imagine if this goes south I will have trouble escaping. How well do they check for weapons at the door?"

Emily looked over the paper, then carefully slipped it into one of the compartments on her belt. "Well." she replied. "Not very thuroughly for people in business suits and no mask, but they definately check if you're wearing a costume. They will let you in if you make an appointment to see Cobblepot, and once you're in they'll take you to the back areas where they'll check you for anything hidden. Guns, knives, recording devices... the usual. Though if you let them know at the door that you are carrying consealed weapons, they'll just make sure that you leave them outside the room rather than taking them from you. There's also a table right inside the door of the office you can sit them on. Then whenever you lead Cobblepot back outside, you can say that you'll be leaving after you talk and grab them on your way out. And if you have something smaller, I'm sure you can hide it from the pat down." Emily said.

"You'll likely be asked to go through one of the side doors, no where near the Lounge. He doesn't like costumes walking through the lounge just for a meeting. You'll be searched for weapons, and be led by guards to see Cobblepot. Normally I would lead you into the office and stand outside. Since I won't be there, you will likely have guards with you until you earn Cobblepots trust that you're ONLY there to pawn diamonds. Natalia will likely be there unless she is still occupied with Vandal Savage. I can't say how things will go once you get Cobblepot out of the room, but he will avoid any sort of confrontation around his Lounge. There will be more guards there, some of the girls can fight and shoot, but Cobblepot will not want to scare his guests away." she added, then began moving towards the door just to walk around a bit.

"I will stick around the nearby rooftops until I see you leave the building. If you're out and free before I can get out, just send me an email. I'll get a silent alert that I have mail, and the only people who send me mail from that account is DISC and you. If things do go south, and Cobblepot doensn't care about keeping things quiet and settling things civily.... make as much noise as you can. If I'm upstairs, I'll hear or see you. If I'm outside, there will be enough people running outside for me to know. This suit was built for stealth, but it comes with a few offensive perks." she said, then looked back at him. "Where should we meet if things do go alright?"

Edmond signed and rolled up his sleeves revealing two mechanism's he had designed that were attached to his wrists. They each were holding one arrow and did not seem primed to fire but they were. He looked at them a little and then removed the arrows. "This should get past them then. It will be slim fit enough to pass on a pat down and if I need to put a projectile in I can find a pencil or something. It all fires the same. If by chance they do find them I can claim they are braces for a damaged bones or something. " Edmond said as he picked out his mask and tossed it onto the desk. He didn't alter his suit at all and did not even bother to put on a jacket, just his vest and tie. The jacket was made to carry a quiver and without that the jacket would just be there to distract him.
"So the plan is simple then. I call in and ask them to set up a meeting tonight. I go to the lounge and you go to your base. You obtain what you need and I scan the area. Once Cobblepot's guards or escorts come out to bring me in I tell them I have a concealed weapon and let them take it. " Edmond picked up his knife and set it on the desk with the bag of diamonds and the mask. "Hopefully they think I am honest and don't check for more weapons, if they do I improvise. Then when I meet with Cobblepot I convince him to go on a walk with me so we can discuss pawning the diamonds. When you get into the office you call me. I will not answer, but I will know to start the timer. Two minutes at the most. Once the deal is done and Cobblepot is on his way back I will email you a warning."
Edmond put on his mask and reached under the desk bringing up a briefcase. He opened it and set the diamonds and his knife inside then stood staring at it as if debating wether or not to bring more weapons. "We should meet somewhere secure, not our bases because if we are followed our cover will be blown. Not only that but we risk me being spotted by one of the people from the lab who is out looking for the girl I helped. Do you have an idea on where to meet?

Emily paused for a long moment in thought. "I know of a few unsecured locations around here that would make it easy for people in costumes to blend in." she replied. "As far as secured locations other than my place and yours... I don't know of many. I have my public apartment... Cobblepot owned and monitored. There is an abandoned building I own... empty, the bottom half likely being used by homeless people since I have it only in case of an emergency. Or... there's another apartment complex that is owned by some.... friends. They have a start up sort of business going on, and the room I have permanently rented out does come with sound proofing and heavily locked doors." she said, then looked up at him. "If we go with that option, you'll need a code phrase to even be allowed on the private floor, let alone access to my room. One of the perks in exchanging information on crimes that I can't take care of without risking suspicion from Cobblepot."

Edmond thought for a second. they were all options that posed some risk one way or another. "We should used the abandoned building. On the roof so any occupants can't hear us." He stated simply before shutting the briefcase and walking over to the wall. When he got to the wall he pressed down on the wooden panel and when he did this time the panels slid back into place hiding everything that remotely could prove Edmond was the Count. With the office looking like a more or less normal office again Edmond sat at is desk.

Emily nodded. "Alright. In that case head towards the Museum that's along the edges of Gotham. From there take a right. My building has an old water tower on the roof. Easy to see if you travel by rooftop, and easy to hide behind or sneak to the roof staircase. I leave it unlocked since it's an emergency location, and the staircase is busted and broken on the second floor, so there shouldn't be any worry about anyone being on the top floors."

"Good. Then with that location secured we have quiet the plan. All I need to do is call and set up the appointment." Edmond said as he pulled his phone out of his pocket. He spun around in his chair a few times as he dialed the number. "Any idea who I will be talking to when they pick up?" Edmond asked. He had a certain image he liked to keep up that was rather theatrical when he was the Count. Certain bits of information helped with that. He brought the phone up to his ear and awaited a response from Emily before saying anything. Honestly he wasn't sure who he was going to talk to or if he had even dialed the right number but that became clear a few seconds later and Edmond hung up. "That was certainly not for the Iceberg Lounge..." He said simply. IT was clear that whatever number he had dialed would have embarrassed him he he had it on speaker. "Do you know the number?"

Emily chuckled lightly and walked back over towards him. "Here, I'll do you one better." she said as she stopped in front of his desk. "If you just get the Lounge, you'll get the front desk, then the run around until someone upstairs can get to you. If you use..... this.... number...." she said as she began jotting a number down on a scrap piece of paper on the desk. "You should be talking to either Jamie or Vince. You'll know which one it is once they start talking. Vince has a rather deep voice. Jamie is shrill. If Cobblepot is busy or meeing with someone, you'll have to talk with them and let them set up the meeting. You'll need to give them some personal information... mostly just the sort of thing to make sure you're not a cop or someone trying to do a sting or anything. They'll run a background check while they're talking to you. If you have a spare identity, I'd use that. If not, I can pull up one of mine that you can use." she said as she twisted the paper around for Edmond to see. Then she grinned a bit. "I... have masqueraded as a man once before. Identity is already set up and in most databases. Understandably it's not used much, but it's there if you need it."

Edmond looked at the paper. "I have a false identity for this. It should work. Eric Monte. A few years back, before I understood the system, the police managed to get me, I gave them a fake name and over time whenever I needed to do something of illegal origins that was profitable, I just used the same name. Over time he built up a reputation. Con man, smuggler, various little things. It helps to have a false identity with a reputation. Sometime the crime comes to you." Edmond made his explanation brief. In a different life Edmond would have made a dangerous criminal. Edmond stood up as he waited and grabbed the mask he had picked out. It dawned on him that if he was to have a face to face meeting under the identity of Eric Monte, he could not wear something the Count would ever be seen in. The Count walked over to the wall and slid the panel back manually. He hung the mask up were it had been and pulled out a drawer. He took out an eye patch then shut the drawer and sealed the panel. From the wall he looked around for a brief moment. "Remind me to get a hat. Eric always wears hats." Clearly, when Edmond was going to pretend to be someone, he got into character. Even if it was someone he created. Eric then looked at the phone and dialed the number. He put the phone up to his ear and waited for a moment or two then let out a small laugh and composed himself. "You must be Jamie."

Emily smiled as Edmond explained. Smart... very smart. This man was impressive in quite a few ways. All of her alternate identities were simple or easily forgettable. Better that way for her. Anything more and she'd have way too much on her plate to try and manage.

When Edmond was greeted, Emily couldn't help but chuckle herself. The woman usually did throw people off with her voice. She could also almost hear everything that Jamie would say in her head.

"Yes, this is Jamie. Can I ask who's callin'?"
