Once they had reached his office he let Emily enter then shut the door. The office had been soundproofed so that he could make arrow and sharpen them silently to the others outside and the room had all the set up he needed for training. Various vents to work on free running and a flagpole over the edge to do pull ups on. It was the perfect set up. An explanation of where he spent his days and nights so if the police ever showed up he could show them security footage of him walking around the building. It had been like that in his New York office as well. One did not becomes as wealthy as he was by simply running one law firm.

when the door was close Edmond began to pace back and forth still debating wether or not to tell her. It would be ideal to tell her now but it could also be a mistake. However he also knew her day job and could easily use that if she tried to blackmail or reveal him. "Emily, if you are recording any of this conversation stop now. A man in my position must take many precautions and I do not know the full extent of the suit you were. I will not demand it be removed but I will request you stop any recording it can do. "

Emily paused for a moment after the man made his request. She took one quick look around the room, her helmet inclining towards whatever security camera or computer she spotted. After another moment, she turned her head back around to face him and moved her hands back up under her helmet. The bottom of it fell out again, allowing her to speak clearly. "Alright." she replied, and continued to play around with the underside of her helmet. "Recording is fair enough, and I appreciate keeping my suit together." she replied. The man was quite clearly about to tell her something important. It was perfectly fine with her that he wanted her to shut down anything that might make him uneasy. She would want the same if she were in the same position. And with very few allies in this Universe, it was better to comply with the wishes of... hopefully potential allies.

The lense of her helmet flickered once, then grew into it's "normal" state. A clear but hazy colored glass that allowed the woman's eyes to be seen, but impossible to make out the color of them. Then she began fussing with her belt and a few hidden buttons that were located in hard to disrupt spots. Then her belt beeped twice, and something on the side of it clicked.

She would not turn off everything wireless or electronic she was wearing, but that should be everything that would record visuals and sound. She felt better knowing she still had an open communication to DISC, but it was nothing that would compromise what the man was about to say.

"Alright... that should be everything." she said, letting her hands fall back to her sides.

Edmond waited for her to turn every recording device off and then he spoke, as he did he placed his hand on the wall next to him. It seemed as if he was leaning on it but he was not. "The first time we met I tailed you from the Iceberge Lounge, to that Doctor's office. I stitched up your back and I have been emailing you for some time since then. Things seemed a lot longer in the lab then they do working in this office." Edmond pushed in on the wall and a panel slip up revealing his suits across one wall, his bows across another, and an assortment of arrows on the third wall. On the fourth wall that was parallel to the door nothing happened. Normally his workshop would pop up but he did like keeping what he was making a surprise for when he needed to use it. "I had to reschedule twice because I was attacked by a werewolf and the second time because I felt I was followed. I am Edmond Dantes, but I am also the Count." He paused for a moment to see if she had any questions.

Emily didn't seem to have anything to say after he revealed his secret to her. She just looked back and forth around the room. Honestly she was a little too surprised to think of anything to ask him just yet. She had been expecting some kind secret reveal, but not this. Not when he could have simply asked her to meet him as the Count elsewhere. Not... making her think she was meeting someone completely different and say that the Count would speak through him.

It... made sense now, but it was still a little too double cover-up for what she had been expecting. She was the only one she knew of that was... THAT careful about her identity around new people. Costumes on top of costumes... taking a full day to be whatever alias she chose just so people would see her around to confirm her existence so to speak.

"I..." she began, trying to pull her focus back onto the Count. Er... Edmond. "I have to admit, this wasn't what I was expecting when you said you had something serious to tell me." she admitted. "Not when I thought I was meeting someone else."

"I do apologize for that. When I left the lab I knew I had been followed and so my reaction was... extreme. Meeting you here was the plan but I could not get here in my costume. So I changed and burnt down my base then came here as Edmond Dantes, the man I was born as." Edmond said as he made his way over to his desk and sat down behind the computer. The Count clicked on a file and began going through it. The file was not the one he had on the lab, the file was on a man he had caught robbing a bank, the man who had beaten Edmond. It was a side project. "It is a simple guise really, I give the people a man who by day fights crime on the legal side, and by night, fights it on the less than legal side. Plus being a lawyer by day provides me with many cases to work on. Cobblepot would be in jail by now if I could have formulated any solid enough evidence. However it seems now he is an asset and my offer stands. I can distract him, as the count. I will get him out of his office and buy you time to get in and get the information we need off his computer."

Emily chuckled slightly, then began messing with the bottom of her helmet again. The bottom of it dropped out again, and she moved towards an empty chair. "You have your job as a lawyer to find more side jobs, I have Cobblepot." she said, sitting down. Since he was revealing such confidential material to her, it was a safe bet that anything she said would be in complete confidence as well. "I was based in New York City in my old universe. When this whole... thing happened..." she said, gesturing her hand. "My base of operations ended up in Gotham, and my organization vanished. I had no where to go but here, and nothing to do. As much as a vacation would have been nice... I found the lack of work frustrating. It didn't take me long to find out what had happened and how I had gotten here. But... I had nothing to do. The person I used to spy under was... well I didn't think he existed anymore until tonight. I found out what sort of person Cobblepot was, and worked my way into his organization under a different guise. There I was able to find out about some of the shady work that goes on around Gotham, and get in on it. Take care of the things that were harmful to others, ignore the ones that weren't so things didn't become suspicious." she said. "I work for him as one of his assistance and enforcers... in exchange I get paid and information on the underworld." Then she looked over at him. "One of the reasons I was hesitant about telling you anything. Without other work, Cobblepot is useful for me to have around." she said, then paused a moment before looking away uneasily.

"It would be easier for me to get to his computer with him distracted and completely away from his office. It would have to be today or tomorrow though. While he believes that I am out of town at a friends house, nursing my wounds. He still doesn't know what exactly happened with my back, and I didn't give him much detail about it. Just sort of stormed in with a bleeding back, told him I was taking the night off and where I was going, and left." she said. "It'll be easier to sneak in while he thinks I'm injured and elsewhere. Then if I am seen, there's less of a chance he'll think it's me, or call me in to come and fight you."

Edmond listened to her speak as he thought. He dragged the Cobblepot file into the trash bin on his computer when he realized just how important Cobblepot was to her process. Sure he could offer her a job but he doubted she would take work from him and honestly he was afraid to have he around his base for extended periods of time that she was not distracted. "I started in New York as well. that was where I put my first office, then there was one in Metropolis, a very small one in some farming town, and a few in other places. Needless to say the crime rates did drop and then I moved on to the next city. Gotham has proven a challenge. The crime here is new to me, my in formants in other cities had nothing useful and so I sorta gave up for a bit. I spent more time working on arrows than using them. Never mind, my personal problems are not your business.. yet..." Edmond fell silent for a bit. He stood and moved over to the wall where all his costumes were displayed. The colors varied but they were mostly the same material. He looked over them as he thought before crossing over to the wall holding his bow and a few displayed arrows.

"I can distract him two ways. One, I go in, disable the cameras you told me about when we first met, and start putting arrows in guards until he comes out of his office. Effective but probably bad for future business. Or I can meet with him, ask him to walk around the lounge with me as I explain a certain discovery to him, gems, gold, something interesting, and you get the computer then. It is your choice though I feel I know which one you will pick."

"Well..." Emily began. "He tends to welcome meeting with business men face to face. Especially when he believes he can gain something from doing business with them. He will meet in his office, or down in the Lounge if they aren't a "special" guest. By that I mean they aren't someone who is paying him for information, or asking him to take care of something shady." she said. "Those I know he'll come out of his office for. Costumes creating trouble, he will usually let his enforcers or guards take care of it rather than get in the middle of it. Better to claim the costume at fault rather than come out shooting back at the offender. He's careful about his actions in public. He's a "simple businessman" after all." she said.

Then she leaned onto her arm. "...there would also be the problem of his enforcers and guest... if he's still there." she added. "If you go in as the Count, you're likely to meet Natalia. Who, if she bites you, can melt whatever she bites. As well as eat you. With your ranged weapons though, she shouldn't be a problem unless she gets within grabbing distance of you. And then there is the man who threw me into a mirror." she said, her tone dropping a few levels with the last sentence. "I'm not sure how he fights outside of a small room, but I guarantee he's not someone you want to fight fist to fist. If he's still there... When I left the Lounge the second time, he was still in the back room with Natalia. Hard to say where he's at until I can get to my spy bot's recorded feed." she said. Then she paused a moment in thought. "I..." she began, then sighed. "I doubt the equipment he said he was going to send to me is at my hotel yet, so I'll need to get my own equipment to download information from the computer. That's back at my base still. I had only planned on spying on the room, and the file that Savage had left on the floor."

"I have a knife for close quarters and a device on my wrist that will shoot arrows so I am not exactly defenseless close up however the man who threw you into the mirror does seem like he will be a challenge if we fought. Not a challenge on his own but with the other guards and enforcers I don't imagine it being too easy." Edmond said as he ran the possible scenarios for the fight through his head like a computer program. After a few seconds he said "In nine out of ten situations I lose the fight, or am force to flee before you have enough time. I could go as Edmond Dantes but I would have little to offer other than becoming part of his payroll and I wouldn't ask my employes to do that. Most would quick. I hire by a strict standard. However if I go as the Count I doubt there will be much conversation seeing as he doesn't like people in masks. At least that is what I have heard." Edmond crossed back over to his desk and opened up one of the drawers. He shuffled around in it a bit until he pulled out the shaft of an arrow that did not yet have a tip. Edmond said nothing about it when he set it down and took his seat because he moved directly to the next topic.
"I have a some devices that can be used to extract data but none that would be as efficient as what you have. Most of my technology bases around hiding, destroying, or altering things. When I want information it normally comes from interrogation. " edmond said as he picked up and examined the arrow shaft.

"Heh, never been all that good with interrogation. Nothing outside of trying to make casual conversation with whatever "boss" I have at the time." Emily said. Then she sighed gently and leaned back just a bit in her chair. Enough to support her back, but not put any pressure onto it. "I could go back to my base and pick up a few of my things. They'll certainly help with getting a bulk of information quickly and quietly. The other option would be for me to try and inquire in person. It wouldn't get you any answers tonight... but if I say I was attacked by one of those... symbiote creatures on my way somewhere... I may get him to open up a bit about what they are and where the are from. With them chasing after you, it might not be a stretch to say that one or two were out and about in the streets." she said.

This was a bit of a problem. If the Count didn't help distract Oswald, then she would have to simply ask about it herself. That she'd have to do tomorrow whenever Emily would have calmed down and come back into work. If he did help, they could get at least a little bit of answers now.

Spider-man - Peter Benjamin Parker (616)

The sky over Gotham opened up as a vortex split between the fabric of space-time to upchuck an unlucky web-slinger. Falling fast, Peter found himself flipping over to land upon his feet instead of on his belly as he was downed upon Gotham City's police station roof top. There was a brief pause before the costumed vigilante lifted his body up to a straight stand,"Whoa, that was definitely not the way to the mall, last time I take directions from a transdimensional portal. Now where exactly am I, besides lost?"He began to ponder his whereabouts and even tried to make contact with his Avenger's communication device. It worked, but the frequency was very fuzzy in this area for some reason, which was strange given that it usually was a clean slate.

"Oh boy, now I got to find a radio tower or be lucky enough for a lightning bolt to strike me to get a reception. Ugh, why me?"Peter crawled down the side of the building just in time to notice a woman getting mugged. Despite not being aware of where he was, he still had a duty to uphold. He simply walked behind the muggers and tapped on the back of the one without the knife waiting for the poor old lady's purse. When the guy turned he got a web shot to the face and started screaming. His partner turned and tried to stab yet Parker's senses alerted him in time to jump for a nearby lamp pole where from which he shot a string of web and hoisted the assailant up by his pants, causing him to drop his weapon."What's the big deal you freakshow?" "Just contributing to old Beth here's fan club, the official Whipper Snappers United."He then tied the man up by spreading his web out to cocoon him from head to toe. It was good timing because his partner had got his face clean enough to lunge. Peter dropped to the ground and pushed up with both his legs to propel the man high before standing to deliver an uppercut to the descending goon. Holding back was easy, but even then, the cold c**k would serve to keep him knocked out for hours. He tied him to the base of the lamp post and returned the purse to the citizen.

"Thank you sir, whoever you are, but I'm afraid Gotham is full of this kind of common crime, your no Batman."He arched a brow which caused his right eye lense to lift with his temple. Gotham? Batman? Well at least he had a fresh idea of where to start with the questions."Oh no problem ma'am, I enjoy being belittled in comparison to some dude named after a bat. Just try not to forget to feed those cats of yours and have a nice night miss, remember to take your medication too."It was a little rude of him, more so than usual, but he had just saved her from getting shanked. It was kind of a kick in the nads to think of a guy that probably flew around with wings whooping bad guy butt twenty-four seven. He waved goodbye and webshot a building so he could swing away.

Gotham was new to Spiderman and he planned on familiarizing himself with his new surroundings.....

"I have spent time practicing interrogation it is easy to understand why it does not come naturally to you." Edmond said as he got an idea. He stood again and crossed back over to the wall displaying his bows. He pulled out one of the drawers containing various trophies from his time as a vigilante. Edmond reached in and pulled out a small pouch. "Cobblepot, does he sell or help sell precious gems? " Edmond asked as he tossed the bag onto the table. It made a sort of rattling noise when it hit but nothing after. The bag contained about twenty small diamonds. The kind that looked like they would go on rings intended to impress people.

William had been about to stop a car jacker, but just as he was about to land on the roof of the car he found himself falling through what could only be described as a portal. He then found himself falling through the air in a city he did not recognize. He landed on his feet and saw a Man in a red costume that he recognized from the news and from his home town. He stood and looked at Spider-man and decided to follow him. He Ran to the edge the roof and jumped. as usual his jumps carried him further than any non cross-species jump could ever go. He shouted, "Any ideas on exactly what teleported us to this place? Becuase I can't really think of an explaination for the portal..." As he passed Spider-man and landed on the wall of a building, He crouched there and watched the web slinger; waiting for him to reach him.

Spider-man - Peter Benjamin Parker (616)

Peter was alerted to something, however it didn't immediately endanger him as it passed; a large insectiod-like mass. He halted mid-swing to land on the side of a building for a better view. He found himself coming into contact with some "thing" that looked like a type of insect and not a popular one. He did however get acknowledged before he even had a moment to react to the slightly intriguing yet grotesque figure before him. Instead of the obvious jokes, he took on a serious air when asked a question that he too wished to know about.

"I was told this was Gotham big fella', but outside of that I don't really have any idea what to tell you; your guess is as good as mine. I don't believe we've met, Spiderman; lemme guess, your part of the animal totem that Ezekiel told me about back in the day? I didn't know they could have other insects, weird."He tilted his head to the right and shrugged, held in place by his wall crawling ability working through his legs while he held up his hands. He felt a little at ease despite the newcomer's appearance. Someone who was much like an insect around these parts made things seem a little less depressing. He chose to not speak of his secret identity however, nor directly ask questions he'd clearly deduced his guest likely didn't know. So he decided to ask him the next best thing,"So, who are you?"

William sighed and decided he should give the best explanation he could.

"You may or may not have heard of me. My name is William Cross. Some people call me Centipede, others call me Sample. I'm a Cross-species like you, though unlike you I was genetically engineered and I had to fight for my rights. I Won my court trials and I am a legal American."

"I pay taxes just like most people, Though the Daily Bugle tried and failed to make me look like a freak that would sooner tear a persons head off than look at them."

Then William moved his tail behind him and looked around. He said nothing further for a moment as he looked around and took in his surroundings. "You may have even read one of my books. though I doubt it."
