Wow, I've been really rmeiss in commenting!
I like the latest chapter - especially how it showed Cal's father and Cal in sharp relief in regards to Cal's actions. The subthread about self-control is an interesting one, too; Cal's father has the "with great power comes great responsibility" line running with a healthy dose of "let us guide our own destiny." Cal seems much more focused on the latter. The contrast is really neat.
I have to admit I'm still really curious about Gendou-the-Character... he's in such an awkward position and such a difficult place. Even on re-read, though, I love Rue's self-dialogue and her awareness of the realities of the situation! It really brings into sharp relief earlier conversation aong the adults about how many alphas survive.
I'd love to read more!

It has occured to me that if Fred's gloves are part of why her typical fashion doesn't include skirts/dresses/etc... then elbow-length gloves would be an unexpectedly classy way for her to accessorize for a dance.
