When Lahil responded that she was a Genjutsu user, Karuto beamed from ear to ear. Grabbing a book, he turned his back to the crowd assembled before him for a few second before turning back to face them with his hands cupped and the books gone "Ladies and gentlemen we have the newest member of the Suna Dream Team...Lahlil!" Uncupping his hands and tossing the contents into the air, small pieces of paper rained down around the small woman. As soon as he did so Karuto cupped his hands around his mouth and mimicked the sound of a cheering crowd "Ahhhh yeah Lahlil's the best ahhhh" Taking a step back he smiled, and turned to Keiko "Me and you are gonna have to spar soon. Gonna have to pay you and that Gecko back fo-"
He was suddenly cut off as the oddest thing happened. A man burst into the room, offered his help and then flew straight up. 'Okay so how though...?!' Even Karuto, odd as he was, raised an eyebrow at this. Looking up at the man in the rafters he called out "Hey, uh, Mary Poppins! What's your deal?"
๑๑๑๑ Right eyebrow raised towards what Karuto had said, it seemed he'd already been placed on a squad, albeit unwillingly. And although he felt the urge to protest rise within him, the boy shrugged it off, figuring he needed a team one way or another. Half heartedly, Hideo opened his mouth to answer the question before Lahil introduced herself and answered in his stead, which was just as well. Nodding towards her he muttered a simple, "Hideo, a pleasure." Before he could introduce himself to the other individual in the room, it seemed she wanted to cut things short and take her leave, which Hideo found in a sense somewhat comforting. He didn't like to be surrounded by strangers, it reminded him of his time in the academy, being forced to introduce himself over and over to people who usually ended up joking about the one feature he had worth noting. Perhaps he and the raven-haired girl shared a common trait.
Nodding towards her he uttered as she took her leave, "Not many people are able to domesticate bearded dragon's to that extent." It was true too, Hideo had seen quite a few in the desert on the outskirts of the village, but they tended to be rather vicious and quite solitary. For someone to have taught one commands at what he suspected her age to be, was actually quite a feat in itself. Had he the time, he'd have spoken to her more having an inkling she had more skill than her apathetic nature let on, another small trait they more or less had in common. Making a mental note, he decided to put the matter to rest for the time being. It wasn't often someone caught his interest, but when they did he found himself growing more and more curious with each passing day.
His mind drifted as Karuto cheered and jeered as Lahil spoke about being rather adept with genjutsu. It was an interesting art, one not many were cut out for. From what he read, it tended to take a special mind to master that sort of thing. Just then a jounin had entered and spoken to the group before retreating up to the rafters. Although Hido had questions of his own, he didn't feel it necessary to more or less repeat the general idea surrounding Karuto's response. Granted he wouldn't have said it in so many words, however the sentiment still stood. He wondered who he was, wracking his memory for a visual of the man in the past. He could have sworn he saw him somewhere before, however he had trouble placing him at the moment. Perhaps once he spoke he'd get a feeling for who he was and just as well his intentions. For now, left hand still in his pocket and right at his side, the Hyuuga waited for the man to respond.

As grateful as she was to be accepted onto someone's team Lahlil still found herself smiling rather nervously. Face turning red with embarrassment Lahlil wasn't exactly accustomed to being placed on the center stage before and she was rather grateful when the moment had passed. Even with all the excitement buzzing around her however, Lahlil couldn't help but feel a little bad considering she had just started getting to know Keiko and now it felt somewhat like they were excluding her. Though she hadn't the slightest notion how Lahlil scuttled over to Keiko wondering if she could make her feel better. "Hey Keiko.. " Her voice lifted barely above a whisper, more than likely caused by the jitters that were running through her body. "Maybe we could.. hangout after you finish training? I bet there's some nice places we could eat at or something.." Lahlil studied Keiko with her large purplish eyes trying to look for some kind of hint into what she might be thinking but of course Lahlil wasn't socially adept enough for such a thing. In that same moment heard Karuto exclaim about something in the sky. Shielding herself from the blaze of the midday sun Lahlil managed to make out a figure floating through the air above them. Although it was too high for her to make out any details, she assumed it must have been someone named Mary Poppins except Lahlil had never met anyone of the sort in the village.

Keiko heard that Karuto wanted a spar with her as she considered it. She knew that he was Taijutsu when he had confirmed it; so battling him wouldn't be wise. Then again, she could learn from him in case one of those days, her enemy was a Taijutsu user. "Maybe." She simply replied. Who knows what would happen to them when she goes back to training. Maybe they would have a mission or she gets placed into a different squad. The Hyuuga seemed impressed about the bearded dragon. "To be fair, he's eight. It was eight long years. Even some of my old bites still stings. And he still have his moments." The tanned woman half heartedly smiled towards him. Lahlil approached her as she nodded softly, not wanting to let this girl down. Maybe she just want a friend that's not a male or loud and boasting like the mountain one. "Sure. If nothing odd happens, Lahlil-chan." The raven haired replied respectfully. Just as if on cue, smoke suddenly appeared as the young Genin's hand reached to her back and gripped the lower area of her bo staff as her body tensed. But it seemed that a rather higher ranking of Shinobi had stepped out of the smoke, not some random enemy. While watching him with her grey hues, she released the grip of her bo staff and her hand slowly slid to her side. Karuto's respond to this man, had finally got an emotion or action out of Keiko. She had been stoic as she can be so they can't read her this whole time, until now. Right that instant, she brought her palm to her face as her eyelids closed. Did... did he just called him Mary Poppins?

Theodin heard the surprisingly huge genin ask about his deal and call him Mary Poppins, whoever that was and chuckled softly before drifting back down to the floor of the academy “Oh damn, I guess the new folks don’t know who I am….” The jounin would then push back his cowl and rrun his fingers through his hair quickly, “I’m Theodin Poe, jounin ninjutsu specialist and until I was knocked into a coma for the last year apparently, I was the main ninjutsu instructor here in the academy. I’m also fairly well trained in Taijutsu and Bukijutsu and will gladly help with that if I can. “ Theo would then remove his robe to show that he in fact carried several weapons, his dual longswords and staff as well as the seals on his arms, and showed that for a ninjutsu specialist he was armored from neck to tow and geared up for basically any fight.

Karuto mostly kept his focus on the Jounin in the rafters. When he flew for the second time, floated down to the Genin below, Karuto let out a sigh 'Damn it would be cool to fly' He thought to himself. He leaned against the nearest book shelf and replied to the man who introduced himself as Theodin Poe "Well, I'm pretty good on my Taijutsu. I don't know about the other two but what I think would be the best would be a Jounin to lead our team on missions outside of the village, some higher rank stuff. Me and Hideo have been busting our butts all week on missions and it would be nice to get out of the village for a bit" He shrugged and gestured to Lahil and Hideo "But then again I'm definitely not the one calling the shots" He said with a laugh.
๑๑๑๑"I see," Hideo muttered towards Keiko's response returning the half hearted smile with one in kind. He wasn't one for much small talk, or really speaking much at all in the company of strangers. However with Karuto around, it seemed he just might be dragged into more conversations than he bargained for from here on out. When the man in the air removed his cowl, a memory buried deep seemed to surface once he saw the man's face. He'd seen him in the academy before, albeit briefly. Oddly enough, he was handing off papers to the man who became his class' replacement sensei. The man when walking out of the room had stopped just short of the door and turned, scanning the room and smiling before walking out. Looking at the visage of a man ready for combat seemingly immediately with the ability to fly, Hideo felt jilted when it came to the sensei he ended up with.
The staff and seals were interesting enough, however what Hideo's eyes settled on were the pair of matching long-swords the man possessed. It took quite a bit of strength to wield one effectively in shinobi combat, but two? The jounin had to be an absolute force on the field. His relaxed position shifted someone as he slipped his left hand out of the pocket it was in at last, bowing foward to the hip before rising back up and standing for the most part straight. "Hideo Anzai Hyūga. Nice to meet you." From what he said, Theodin was more than well rounded in each field, a jack of all trades it seemed. He wondered what elements the man wielded, he had questions regarding one of his own in particular.
When Karuto piped up once again, it seemed unless Hideo felt the need the larger genin would be the mouth piece of the group, something the young genin wasn't opposed to in the least. He wasn't wrong either, the pair had been working overtime the past few days. When Karuto suggested a mission before admitting he didn't want to force anyone's hand in decision, Hideo shrugged. "It would be nice if we all were able to get to know one another first. If we jump into a mission without knowing each of our strengths, we could end up doing more harm than good. Perhaps a group training session, that way everyone can get a feel for one another and finish up any necessary training. I'd hate to go on a squad mission unprepared."

Having left Nozuki to roost outside, Katsumi made her way inside the academy. There were others present, though she was rather introverted when it came to unknown quantities. The man from the estate was there as well, though he too was regarded with distrust. For now she would train off to the side by her lonesome. That's how things had always been and there was no reason to change now. Perhaps reviewing what she knew of her of clan's secret techniques would be a good place to start? Raising her arm up to her to her mouth, the gentlest of pressure was applied. Even with such a slight touch her fangs were sharp enough to pierce the flesh. Delicious crimson liquid pooled to the surface. [1/3] Blood was in many ways her blessing just as much as her curse. Though in this particular case, it was the foundation of power. Soon chakra was forced into the blood. [2/3] Upon the two quantities mixing the blood began to crystallize into a solid shape. In this case it was a shuriken like weapon resembling a bat. This sort of creation was the foundation of how her clan turned blood into literal weapons. [3/3] [ Akaishi [ Red Stone ] ]
Eventually the blood would stop flowing from the wound as her anti-coagulant wore off. However for now she would continue to practice the art of blood drawing. Focusing on her pores she forced droplets of blood out into the air before crystallizing them into a needle. [1/1] [ Sasu no Hari [ To p***k with a Needle ] ]
Stretching her metaphorical wings like this felt good. It'd been a while since she got to play around with her blood. In this case it was also a good use of her time. Making sure she hadn't gotten rusty was probably a sound idea. [1/3] Raising up her hand towards a target dummy blood and chakra concentrated in the appendage. Soon in the blink of an eye blood would exit her pores and instantly harden into small crystalline needles. Fifteen of them in total would make their way through the air to the target. [2/3] Not all of them would hit her target. Apparently she needed some more work on the accuracy front. Still it was good to know that she could still basically do it. [3/3] [ Arei no Hari [ Array of Needles ] ]
The needles were nice and all but it'd be hard to do serious damage with them unless they hit soft targets like the eyes. That's why her clan had another ranged attacked they like to use. Closing her eyes and taking a solitary deep breath she looked to pull a larger amount of blood to her hand this time. [1/3] With the flick of a wrist a singular razor sharp disk appeared between her finger tips. The bladed disk itself was only about the size of her palm so it in her hand rather easily. With another simple flick the disk was launched towards it target. [2/3] It buried itself into the straw dummy on contact. Still sharp as ever apparently. At least she could still pull off the simple stuff. [3/3] [ Shinku Wa [ Crimson Ring ] ]
A surreal feeling warmed throughout Lahlil's body and for a brief moment the confidence she had displayed in proactively attempting to make friends made her feel like a whole different person, like she was watching herself from the outside. Without even noticing she was doing it, a smile spread across Lahlil's lips and it took her a moment to snap back into the reality of what was going on around her. Specifically when the man who had been floating in the air earlier floated down rather gracefully in front of her. Scrambling more towards her group Lahlil caught the last part of what Karuto had spoken of traveling outside the gates of the village. Honestly Lahlil didn't know what to think of physically adventuring out of home considering her past experiences. For the most part it just left her feeling hollow and indifferent to the whole idea. Choosing to keep silent over the whole ordeal Lahlil instead studied the Jounin who called himself Thoedin. Her purple eyes scanning over him with a burning curiosity. Even putting aside his ridiculous armed to the teeth fashion, it was obvious from just the way he stood that he plenty of experience and if anyone was going to lead them into some kind of expedition she was at least glad it was someone like him. Turning back towards Hideo as he spoke of getting to know one another better caused the blood in her veins to turn to ice. Talking about herself wasn't exactly the kind of thing she enjoyed. "Well.. you already know my strength is in genjutsu. I.." Lahlil stumbled over her words as she remembered her training had gone just a little while ago with her doujutsu. "Haven't learned very much about my doujutsu.. Only the basics."

The freckled Nara stood there quietly as the Jounin had introduced himself as Theodin Poe. Ah. She knows that name pretty well, it was very familiar. Once he had removed his black robe, she quickly scanned his body and the weapons that he had carried. Hmm. Figures. It would make sense that someone of high ranking would always been prepared. But geez, isn't he hot? Of course. Maybe he had specific steel or a sealing in the armor to keep him cool in this hot desert sun. Karuto was, once again first one to speak. It made sense. The Hyuuga and Lahlil were very quiet types and as for herself? Depends. She can be quiet, but she can also give out long speeches. It seemed that Hideo wanted to have a group training session as she paused for a moment. While the quote, 'always be prepared' was very handy and rings with truth, there was pros and cons. Keiko rested her arm underneath her bosom as she brought her other arm's elbow to rest onto the back of the arm that was on her upper torso and have her thumb pressed up against her lower lip as she was in deep thought. This was Keiko's deep thinking posture. Keiko heard Lahlil's stumbling with the words as she sighed to herself. "Yes." She paused for a moment and then moved her upright arm to rest onto her resting arm as she was now crossing her arms across her chest, "And no. Think about it. While getting to know people, you can't possibly know every single Shinobi in this village. This is a beautiful and massive village. There's pros and cons to what you said. I do agree to know each other strength and weakness but when the time comes to do teamwork with others, what then? Do we repeat the training session again? Get to know each other again? Say... The Suna.. Dream team was it? Okay. The three of you trained for years. Have each other's back. Then the Kazekage decided it would be good to send one of you to another village with two other shinobi you had never met. What then? Will you deny her orders? Turn them down? Demand her to see what you see in your team, that the three of you are best with each other?
Separation. That's another issue. Can be a simple separation such as one of you get injured and cannot go to one mission. Not too bad. And there's the worst one. Death. What then? Find someone else that fits the dream team and get to know each other all over again? And unpreparedness. I can go on, but this will be my last thought. Say, we get hit, by.... an army of UHV right now," she snapped her fingers, "Will you three bark at each other to what you are about to do? "Hey! I'm about to do a fire jutsu! Get ready!" That won't work. Even worse, if we get attacked by a demon, again, chances are they will not be succumbed to Genjutsu. So that adds to saving our civilians and our genjutsu shinobis. Working together for years will be phenomenal but when many things happen that can separate a group and make a new ones... the best thing you can do is to watch your back and your allies back. If they throw a jutsu that you can also layer with to make it stronger, do it. Sure, training with each other will help you guys learn about genjutsu, ninjutsu and taijutsu, but here's the beauty of people." She smiled softly. "We are individually unique. It's what makes us beautiful and complicated in this village. Don't worry, I am rooting for the Suna Dream Team as you call it and... just be prepared for the unprepared." She then sighed as she rested her hands at her side, "As for getting to know each other..." Her grey eyes became darker than usual. It was light grey earlier, like a cute fluffy cloud that may try to produce a storm. Now? It was dark and grey. Impending of a storm. "I do believe.. that some people.. we should not to know them deeply. There are possibilities that it can do some harm than good. As long we know they will fight and live for this village and for each other... we can see their heart and their eyes if they spoke the truth about protecting each other. We do not have to go deep and make them bare their souls if they do not wish to. Souls... are like minds. They are very fragile." Then she laugh sheepishly at what she just did and brought her arm up to her pixie cut hair and scratch it at the back of her head. "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to ramble!" Keiko had the sudden urge to slink into the shadows and gods, does that sound good or what?

Keiko was very wise, and made some fantastic points...unfortunately Karuto heard none of them. His gaze was transfixed on a woman training outside of the library area they were in. He saw her through the window into the courtyard and immediately zoned out. Weaving through a couple hand signs, Karuto decided to try something out that he learned. In a second, a perfect replica of himself stood next to him 'Lightning Clone huh? Not as cool as it sounds, but whatever' The clone would stay behind with his squad while the real Karuto left the room, jumping over the railing from the second floor library and into the court yard below.
He would land a few feet away from Katsumi with surprising silence considering he was well over 300 pounds. Rising to his full height, he towered over the girl. He had two feet and an easy two hundred pounds on her, but he still found her intimidating nonetheless. "I'm sorry, I don't mean to interrupt your training. My name's Karuto Raiken. I saw you while I was conversing with my friends and, I must say, you have some very cool moves!" He grinned down at her. Karuto's biggest problem is that he is so blunt, so kind, that people mistake his direct statements for condescending remarks. Hopefully this girl had a bit more sense about her than that. She seemed intelligent, and while Karuto found her beautiful, he was already formulating a plan to beat her in a fight. Maybe one day.

Theodin chuckled slightly at the large genin’s words and scratched his head slightly, “It’s bem a whilre since I lead a squad and it’s kinda up to my mom …ih,.. the kazekage … whether we camn get a mission outside the village, but it would be cool to work with a bunch of genin again.” Then the hyuuga would speak quickly about getting to know each other better before trying to go out in the field on a mission or anything, and the larger female off to the side added a long tirade about pros and cons to that, which made Theo laugh for a minute.”Getting to know each other before hitting the field would be a good idea, and yeah deaths and separations can happen, it’s part of the nature of what we do, but it shouldn’t keep us from learning to work together as well as possible. That being said, we should also be able to each handle ourselves on our own.” Theo would point nonchalantly at the girl who had spoken and smirk, “That thing about the UHV attacking our gates actually happened a while back…. I swear it was like their entire armada came at us… That was a hel of a battle…. Was kind of fun, not gonna lie…” Theo had noticed the giant wandering off and leaving a basic clone behind while he went to talk to some girl across the room and rolled his eyes before twitching his fingers and shooting the clone with a weak lighting bolt to dispel it and focusing chakra into his hands and clapping twice before calling over to the big teenager “Hey Karuto, first off, quit thinking with your d**k, doesn’t end wedll, trust me…. And second of all, if you’re gonna leave a clone behind for squad stuff, learn to make a better clone, this isn’t the academy anymore, those basic bunshin don’t cut it well in the field, kid.” The jounin would then pick up his robe and put it back on, drawing his staff and resting the end on the floor by his right foot as he looked around at the four genin. “So, anything anyone want help with? What all can you guys do?”
๑๑๑๑Heaving a sigh while lazily throwing his hands up to his shoulders in protest, Hideo muttered, "Easy there, I think that's what most would call a slippery slope argument. I never said anything about disobeying orders or being ineffective with other shinobi, much less on my own. I just said it would help if I knew my squad mates better. I'm not asking for everyone's life story and a copy of their shinobi files, I just meant likes, dislikes, and goals for the future. Share what you want or nothing at all, I could care less. Shinobi keep secrets all the time. However, if there is an opportunity to work at peak efficiency, I believe we should seize it. That way, attack and defensive coordination can be as seamless as possible without having to say anything at all."
Folding his hands over his chest, Hideo cracked his neck on the left side first and then the right, nodding once towards Keiko. "It's fine though, no harm no foul." As his gaze lazily followed Karuto as he made his current objective clear, he started to realize perhaps he had found Karuto speaking with Lahlil and her compainion whose name he'd yet to hear not just because he was seeking a squad. It seemed he was after something else entirely for the time being. As Theodin Poe spoke, he found himself somewhat pleased to hear the jounin in a sense agreed with his earlier statement, however the feeling passed when he spoke about an actual UHV attack on the village gates. He wondered if that had happened while he was in Konoha visiting family, but decided not to ask at the time being. He couldn't help but crack a smirk as the man dispelled the clone and scolded Karuto, he was no stranger to Karuto's ploy it seemed.
When the gentleman plopped down and asked all of them what each of them was adept at. Untucking his index and middle finger from the crook of his folded arm Hideo figured why not answer first. "I'm adept at wielding a katana, as well as my clan's taijutsu. Fuuton and Suiton are my chakra natures, however I came here initially to bone up on some maruton." It was then that Hideo's mind returned to the man's first statement, as a quizzical look overcame his face, his nose crinkling as his right eyebrow raised in surprise. "Wait, did you say Lady Kazekage is your...mother?"

Lahlil stood with with her mouth slightly hanging open while she listened to Keiko's speech honestly at a lost for words the whole time. So that adds to saving our civilians and our genjutsu shinobis. The words burned into her mind like a hot iron brand as she turned her gaze back down to her feet not being able to help but wonder exactly how much of burden she would really be in such a large scale fight. For a moment it even felt like the weight of the world was on her shoulders and every nerve in her body screamed at her to just seek out a cold dark cave, to run away from her, and to find a place she could crawl into and hide herself among the shifting sands. Instead Lahlil bite the inside of her cheek and felt the blood fill her mouth as she listened to Thoedin speak, doing her best to draw strength from both his candor and humors interaction with Karuto who had gone off to talk with a lovely scarlet haired girl. "I am proficient with genjutsu.." Lahlil spoke at last "Wind and Earth are my elements but I.. have forgone them in order to study my bloodline. The Sakkakugan I think it's named..." Finishing rather shortly Lahlil's eyes focused on nothing as she quickly lost herself in thought and froze up like a mouse.

Keiko heard the Hyuuga's words and she said nothing else. Miscommunication happens. A lot. This was why she had the tendency to be quiet because it can come off as wrong. Go figure. She closed her eyelids for a moment and reopened them. She had the sudden urge to go away for a bit and just draw some landscapes. Yet, the Nara knows it was important to train than some... silly hobby as some considered it. When Karuto had left, it proved her point about separation.
