The dragon roared loudly and from the sky came a rain of fire trailed by streaks of black smoke. One of the scorching balls descended upon their small group and from it, the air around them became uncomfortably warm.
Rather than feeling like her body was about to boil or that she was somehow turning into steam, Laven felt an odd surge of strength flow through her as she formed another globe of water and slammed it into another pillar.
It was scared, but then again so was she which is why her ability to hold her metamorphosis from faltered and she shifted back to her more normal appearance of flesh and bones, scales and horns, when the fireball slammed into the platform not too far away.
A tremor rippled beneath them bringing Laven to her knees.
Both physically and mentally exhausted she berated herself for her weaknesses, her inability to remain standing let alone continue to fight as everyone else was currently doing. If only she had an ounce of Tina’s bravery or Wolframite’s strength then maybe she could be of some use. But as she was, Laven simply struggled to stand.
