As Miluiel touched Kayla panic filled her eyes as she stumbled again but this time desperately away from Miluiel. "D-Don't worry about me!" Kayla said as calmly while her voice came out high pitched and louder. Her whole body was tense as she moved away from the others after the brief contact.

"I don't like being touched...I should have warned you but please don't touch me." Kayla said finally calming down said to Miluiel who was only trying to help as any motherly woman might. "I apologize for my outburst but it is kinda a taboo of mine to be touched by others. I will try to make myself useful when I can and I will not ask for much but this one thing I beg you to give me."

Miluiel gasped when Kayla pulled away from her so quickly. She felt almost hurt at first, as if she had been struck by the frightened girl's hand. Her eyes were filled with hurt. "What has happened to you dear?" She asked softly. "Has someone hurt you? Please, is there anything I can do to help you?" She inquired softly.

Alunn sat down on a rock, the shade-elf slipping out to sit next to him, the shade-rabbit merely sitting at his feet. "You aren't entirely human, if I had to guess from the taste of your blood I would say you are 3/4 or 1/2 dragon. Am I wrong?"
PostPosted: Sun Jul 04, 2010 9:06 pm

"I am half dragon. My father was a gold dragon, and my mother was a human." Logain explained to Alunn. "But I feel that there is something more to this. What is on your mind?" He inquired.

Azrael stood up again with concern. "Are you going to be alright?" He asked Kayla. "Our healers are skilled in their craft and their medicine. If something is wrong than we may be able to help you with that." Azrael hoped that Kayla was alright. For all her myster, she did not seem like a bad person.

Shinn smiled and nodded to Izual. "He found a cave by the lake earlier and we're gonna go check out. We're waitin' for a couple others before we get goin'." He told his sister.

"No...I am not hurt. It's just something I have believed strongly in since I was younger. It is nothing against any of you but I ask you to respect my belief as I will do my best not to break any of yours." Kayla said looking between the two of them and righting herself. "I...know it may sound strange but it is how things are for me and I would rather chance being hurt by returning to the wild."
PostPosted: Mon Jul 05, 2010 8:51 am

"Yes there is, I just wanted to confirm that you weren't entirely human. Remember when we met in the alley? We had that nice little chat, then later we met up at the tavern, then parted ways? Between those two times, I walked to a temple, where Kayla was at the time. She was with two people, a man called Celeron and a woman called Shera, the Shera that is regarded as a savior to this tribe. Kayla drained her, whether of magic, soul, or something else I can't tell, I wasn't able to see into her, but the Shera woman was drained." Alunn remained waiting for Logain's answer. The shade-elf had recovered the memory once they were outside the den.

Shera looked up at Shinn nervously. "D-do you think it will be okay with mum and dad?" She asked nervously. "We won't get in trouble, will we?" She asked her big brother.

Miluiel nodded solemnly. "Alright dear, I promise to respect your wishes." She said. She couldn't help but wonder why she was this way. Had someone hurt her in the past, so now she was afraid of all human contact? Poor girl. Standing up she nodded and forced a smile onto her face. She crossed the room over to her mate and stood beside him. "So what will you do now Azrael?" She asked. Being the woman of the den she had a few chores to carry out, she was curious about what her husband would do now.

Kayla sighed in relief as she calmed down completely. She was still a little tense and she was glad that she didn't keep pressing why she couldn't be in contact with others. It granted her a moment at least to think of an excuse that seemed plausible. Flashes of Shera purifying herself in water came to mind but such novelties could never hope to cure Kayla of her curse. Thus far she has only managed to weaken it so she did not drain ever person she came across her path. She yawned into the sleeve of her shirt and rubbed her eyes as all the tension seemed to sap what little energy she was had left.

"S'long as we stay together we'll be fine Shera. So stay close to us." Shinn told Shera, nuzzling here reassuringly. "And we're waitin' on a couple of others. We'll have a good size group. And besides, Izual's mum already checked for bears or mountain lions." As he finished speaking, a bark announced the two they were waiting for.

The two other pups were female, both about Shinn's age. The bigger of the two was Izual's sister Lunalia. "Sorry Izual." She said. "Papa was showing me how to tan the deer hides. He's not too happy about you not being there. You have to learn this stuff too ya know!" Lunalia said somewhat scathingly, though mostly to tease her brother. This brought out a sigh from her brother and his head and tail drooped, deferring to his sister now that she was here. "Hey Shinn!" She said. "I didn't see you earlier." She smiled at him sweetly, but it caused Shinn's fur to bristle in a manner that implied that he was blushing internally.

"Me and my sister were having lessons with Veral." Shinn said, a bit shy. He liked Lunalia, and she clearly liked him, but he knew that he was all but promised to her, and knew that she was. They weren't really old enough to fully understand what it meant, but they would soon be old enough to start learning about such things directly, and for the sake of the tribe, werewolves were bonded young, so the search for a compatible mate was started early in life. "Let's go check out that cave!" He said, no longer bristling and ready to go. He deferred leadership of the group to Lunalia.

"Come run up front by me, Shera!" Lunalia said to the younger pup, nodding for her to come next to her.

Azrael stood and gestured to the entryway to the guest's den. "If you are tired, Kayla, then you may rest in here." He said, walking to the entrance and showing the several nooks in the guest room where thick fur mats were laid on the floor with deer-hide blankets and a flap and the end of each nook. "If you wish to sleep then make yourself comfortable in one of the nooks. You can raise the flap if you want privacy." He told her. "Call on me or Miluiel if you need anything."

"I wish to take a stroll in the woods. I've not much experience among the northern flora and fauna." Lauvel said. Having never before been into the northern climbs, he wanted to be among the life in this forest. "I expect I shall be back in a few ours. If you'll excuse me." Lauvel bowed to Azrael and Miluiel before exiting the house. He took his cloak with him, but left the sword and bow in the corner he had dropped them in.

Azrael went to Miluiel and stood next to her. "I know that I tell you this a lot, but you need not lower your standing when there are guests. I know that you are still getting used to certain things out here, but I don't like seeing you lowering yourself. You can tell me to do something any time you want." Azrael leaned close. "Is there anything troubling you Miluiel?" He asked her.

Logain sighed. "I do recall looking upon a winged figure flying from the temple area back then." He said to Alunn. "And I thought there was something familiar in her figure. Now that the memory is placed, I see why you brought me out to discuss it." Logain looked toward the house and then back at Alunn. "Do you think that she has designs toward this village? For while I do believe that an eye should be kept on her, I did not sense much in the way of desire or aggression. It was something more along the lines of fear, or perhaps sadness. That is what I understood from her aura. I think the situation with her is a bit more complicated than we might know. But perhaps we should find an opportunity to bring the questions to her." He said, crossing his arms in thought. If the village found that this woman had brought harm to their savior, than either she would be in danger, or the village would be in danger of her. Neither scenario was acceptable to Logain, but might very well become reality if things were not handled carefully.

"I have a simple way of finding out without the pack knowing, but I need someone to make sure no one is near her. Any marks will also be healed over" Alunn said, showing his fangs briefly "you've seen me at work, or would you prefer we find a different way?"

Kayla smiled and nodded. Sleep did sound good and they both seemed like perfectly nice people. This whole village seemed to be quite accommodating and Kayla appreciated it as she slowly rose to her feet after gathering her belongings and sword.

"Rest sounds wonderful thank you both. Please ask of me for help if you need anything." Kayla said with a slight curtsy. "I fear after traveling so long fatigue would only serve to make me clumsy and useless before long." She looked back toward them once more and disappeared within the confines of the small off shoot of the tent plunging the room into darkness as the flap closed behind her.

Shera snuggled her big brother, happy for his reassurance. "Well, okay, if you say so." She said nervously. Shera looked up at her brother and smiled. "Well then, this will be fun, don't you think Shinn?" She asked just before the others showed up.

She smiled and barked at the two females as they approached. The one, Lunalial, was like an older sister to Shera, and Shera raced from her brother's side to meet her. "We're going to go through a cave! Won't that be awesome!" She barked excitedly. When they all approached however, she noticed how Shinn's actions changed. He seemed nervous, and possibly even shy.

Her eyes darted from one to the other as they spoke. A great smile spread across her face when Lunalia called her to come stand by me. She barked her agreement. "Okay!" She said excitedly and raced up to her best friend. Once there she almost seemed to dance in her bliss as she pranced and raced around Lunalia.

Miluiel returned a curtsy to Lauvel before he left. She noticed that the elf had left his weapons behind, and at first she thought of bringing them to him, but then Azrael drew her attention away from it. She looked up at him as he spoke, focusing her attention now on that. She smiled slightly as he spoke. She shook her head, "No, there isn't anything wrong." She said and readjusted her smile. "Having Lauvel around has just reminded me so much of home. And my brother's home, my father. It sounds like there might be a war coming." It was around this time that her emotions began to flare. She sniffed slightly, and tried to blink back her tears. It upset Miluiel even more that she couldn't compose herself enough to wish the girl, Kayla, a good rest. She buried her face in Azrael's chest and clung to him.

Azrael hugged Miluiel tightly and rubbed her back reassuringly. "My love... There has been much that has come to you this day. It's putting my mind to its limits as well." He told her, still holding her in his arms, but more loosely so she wouldn't be too constricted. "Share your thoughts with me. You listen to mine so often that I feel that I do you a disservice." He said to her humbly, moving the both of them a bit closer to the family den for privacy.

Lunalia barked and started to run off in the direction of the lake. "C'mon you guys!!" She called out to the others. She took care not to move too fast, so that Shera could keep up with them.

Shinn and Izual followed quickly behind Lunalia and Shera. Shinn's anxiousness about what the future might hold for them was left behind as he ran off with the group.

Logain sighed. "While I have every utmost confidence in your execution of that method, I don't think we should move to that option just yet. I believe that we must find a way to confront her regarding the subject, while keeping some open perspective. I would likely try to find a way to get her into the forest alone and bring it up gradually. If she is disguising ill intent, then it's best if we get her somewhat away, that way I can create a barrier where the situation can be contained. But otherwise, my reasoning is that with the power I suspect she has... trying perform your blood test would have a chance of being detected, possibly by some ward or some variation of extra-sensory perception." Logain sighed and looked up at the forest canopy above them for a few moments.

He looked back down again with a look of thought on his face. "If I interpreted her aura correctly... I believe there might be a sort of seal or ward on her. I don't know if this is something placed upon her, or if it is self-imposed. That alone could implicate many things." Logain said to Alunn.
PostPosted: Wed Jul 14, 2010 5:50 pm

"I'm very good with penetrating defenses, seeing as I myself have absolutely no offensive ability, I know the ins and outs of all the barriers. Though you're probably right about the blood test. However, a Siren Song should work to draw her out, and because of it's nature it bypasses anything magical that could interfere with it, and it would get her far enough away for any barriers we would want to place." Alunn unslung his guitar, holding it on his lap. "You should know how subtle I can be with my power, I used it on you and the crowd when we were getting food and drink in the tavern."

Miluiel sniffed softly as the two of them moved closer and closer to their private den. She was suddenly very happy that both Shera and Shinn were off playing with their friends while she had her time with Azrael. "I can't see what's going to happen Azrael. The future is so fuzzy. I didn't think we had the beginnings of war here. It keeps us secluded living here. It is as if we live in our own world out here, and just today, for the first time, our world has been breached. Azrael, don't you feel your control slipping from your paws? What about the children, will they have a safe place to live in the future?" She asked, knowing that her husband probably couldn't answer. "I love you dearest." she said softly, "But I don't know we can make this all better before it gets bad. Tell me it will all be okay, please. We'll go and visit my family, and together we'll stop my brother from destroying our realm with his lunatic ideas. Please tell me it will be okay." She whispered to her husband, begging him.

Shera barked excitedly as she ran alongside her best friend. "What do you think we'll find there Lunalia?" she asked excitedly. "Do you know where the cave is? Did your mom say what was in there?" She now seemed very optimistic about the journey.
